The parking situation is terrible. They were out of the bottle of wine I ordered , but I didn't find that out until our main course arrived. The "sommelier " was pretty snippy about it. They did sell me a supposedly more expensive bottle for the price of the bottle I ordered. The food was not coursed properly. The minute our salads came out, the manager brought our steaks and said that he didn't want to keep them in the window. So, I guess it was better that I left my 70 dollar steak to cool on the table while I hurried through my salad. Look, stuff happens, but at those prices, it should not. read more

5-star review over and over again! Food: Superb variety to choose from on the menu. My wife and I have been waiting for a place like Pitchfork to open in the Bath area for years now. Hallelujah! We must have been there for lunch/dinner 50x already. Service: 5-star service every single time!!!! Our favorite bartender is Ryan he is a tremendous person who is capable of making incredible drinks. His martinis are one of the best I've ever had. Ambiance: Perfect setting for a date night or small (to medium) sized parties. They are ALWAYS willing to accommodate. Masud... the general manager is top class and he'll do whatever he can in his power to satisfy your requests. Make sure you ask about the secret "speakeasy" on the bottom floor where you can watch the chefs LIVE in action. One heck of a setting down there. Highly recommend! read more

My family and I have been visiting Corner Provisions since it opened. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. We have never had a problem with the service. Long time to wait for food. Waiter was great and sold us on the specials. The oyster was the tiniest oyster I've ever seen. But it was tasty. But would not order it again. Appetizer had one hard boiled and one overeasy egg. Both were supposed to be overeasy. Delicious chickpea soup and stellar roasted romaine salad. The burger and duck were both great. Terribly small parking lot with not enough spots to park and nothing adjacent to the restaurant to park in forces you to use their valet all of which set the wrong tone right off the bat. Next, the ambiance was not great as we were seated in a shared space with a coffee shop that was dimly lit and felt like we were sitting in a hallway. Finally, two of our meals were cool, one overcooked, and one was fine. The entire experience left us shaking our heads. The Bath-Richfield area has the clientele to support a nicer restaurant that can get it right yet this is just another example of a restaurant that cannot. And so we continue to live in our culinary desert hoping someday someone get's it right. read more

One Philly cheesesteak sandwich not even close (I've had the real thing): dried out beef, one piece red pepper, one lone onion piece, MIA cheese, stale bread; side of fries like McD's, no flavor. Place is so noisy you cannot have a conversation at the small tables. Amateur restaurant design - no noise abatement curtains/soft surfaces; still working on the food prep (I hope). My boyfriend and I were excited to check out this place, as we love the Farmer's Rail butcher shop, but we were extremely underwhelmed by our experience at Pitchfork. The ambiance was cold and unfriendly. The service was ok, but we did not feel welcome and I had to flag the server down for our drink order; they took the food order and abruptly left the table and didn't even ask if we wanted drinks. Tried the new menu today and it is a Home Run! My lunch selection was the Toasted Cheese Kimchi Sandwich. The bread ( French Boule) was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. It was also very large -- for hee - man appetites! The cheese and Kimchi were spicy but not overly hot and both crunchy and juicy. The Sandwich was done to PERFECTION. Kudos also to our Server, Grace, and as usual, to the best Manager in the area, Jamie. Jamie makes you feel at home and cannot do enough to insure your satisfaction. So wanted to love this place - it's close to our house, super pretty inside, and want to support the people that run the butcher shop we frequent. Food wasn't really the issue - it was the service! 8pm reservation for my husband and two sons, 16 and 19. They were starving and couldn't wait to have filet. We were seated outside, which actually was probably better since it's super loud inside. Ordered apps (cheese plate and oysters) quickly. Drinks came. Apps took FOREVER. Like 45 minutes FOREVER. Server stopped back once after I flagged her down. She was nice enough, circling inside and outside with her tables, but literally no eye contact with us to see if we needed anything. Cheese plate came - really good, we get cheese from Farmer's Rail and recognized some of it on the board, that was good. Oysters (8 of them) still took another 10 minutes plus. When they came, they were good. Had to flag down server again around 9:10pm to ask where dinner was - she said "soon". Three steaks (one rare, two medium rare) and the smash burger took FOREVER. By that time, it was freezing outside, so when food finally came, server noticed we were cold and asked if we wanted her to turn on the heater that we didn't notice above the table. Yes! Please! And yet that never happened. Food came, she returned with sauce for steaks and then....nothing. We again had to flag her down at 9:40 so we could get boxes and the bill. Steaks were good. Cooked perfectly. But barely warm. Got cold SUPER quick, so son's barely ate theirs. If she'd have stopped back, we may have told her, but with such little attention, we figured it'd take 20 minutes to heat up. Smash burger was good, as were fries. So super disappointed in service for a $293 bill (before tip) for 4. Just went to Edwin's in Cleveland and got back from Palm Beach and each and every server was nice, professional, attentive, and worked for their tip. Server at Pitchfork was nice....but I hated leaving a 20% tip because....it wasn't warranted. Clearly know kitchen delays were not her fault - but that's not what I tip for. This server literally dropped off food and seemed as though she tried quite hard to forget that we were her table, although she walked by us again and again and again. We were excited to try this place but unfortunately the food just wasn't great. I will say that our server was excellent- but we won't be going back, atleast to eat. The vibe is cool, so I would consider maybe drinks on the patio but was let down by our food order. All the menu options looked fantastic but the implementation was all wrong. I ordered the watermelon salad and was brought huge awkward planks of watermelon- too much work to cut up and mix with the other ingredients. My husband, who always orders scallops, had to spit his out in his napkin. The salmon was just ok, and was served with a weird and unflavored cabbage quinoa mixture. Had lunch here today. 2nd visit. The autumnal kale salad was completely dry. Finely chopped kale with a smattering of cranberries and sweet potato, which was barely blanched, hard and no flavor. The kale was bitter. I've never had an undressed kale salad. Kale requires massaging with at the very least oil. i can't believe they serve this raw. Inedible. $18 huge salad was a finely chopped bitter mess. Also tried the Brussels sprout soup, which was so garlicky I couldn't eat that. One tiny piece of crisped bread. . My sister got the grilled romaine salad. She couldnt eat the romaine, which she said tasted like smoke. Coffee was lukewarm, had to send it back twice. Really disappointing. Waitress was attentive, but offered no help. She saw how little we ate. She Just asked how they could improve the salad. Two thumbs down. read more

Ate here last Thursday evening with some family members. At first glance the atmosphere is attractive. We had no food or service complaints. However, the acoustics in this place are horrible. You could not hear the person talking next to you. It was so loud that the waitress had to bend way down so she could hear and take our order. My impression is this is more of a bar scene place rather than an upscale restaurant (though the menu and the prices say otherwise). When I go out to a nice place for dinner, I'm dining with people I would like to converse with easily. If I ever go back it will be in the summer when my guests and I could sit outside (and listen to traffic). read more

I think the beginner's luck finally ran out! Our party of 4 had a 630 reservation last night. We brought our friends because the filet is/was to die for! When we sat down our server told us they were out of filet for the evening - that was a huge disappointment - so we pivoted and ordered the Tomahawk special (while our guests ordered another special of the evening). We then learned that they were out of tomahawk's because they only *Defrost* so many each night. Not sure whether that was a blessing or a curse - you are associated with a high-end butcher shop and the meat isn't fresh???? So they prepared some tomahawk substitution with strip something or other. I'm not sure what they gave us, but for $160, it was absolutely the worst cuts of meat. Our poor server did the absolute best she could to keep us happy - great service to that young lady! The food was substandard for the price and reputation of this location. The Manager or whomever was there was aware of our dissatisfaction and apologized, but that was it. No invitation to come back - which we won't now...There are some great established institutions in Akron where the food quality and service are consistent, and the guests appreciated. That is where our business will be going from now on. I hope your next meal at Pitchfork is much better than ours was! read more

Thoroughly disappointed - take your money elsewhere! I've wanted to love Pitchfork. It's close to home and at the highest level seemed to have a decent concept and facility. Sadly, after my third visit and Pitchfork's 3rd strike, I won't be back. Read through the other reviews and note the theme, limited menu, sub-par food, overpriced, and terribly slow service. These themes have played out in my visits as well, and has gotten worse with each visit. Having been to Brazil more than once, and having good Brazilian friends, I was ecstatic to find Picanha on the menu. In Brazil, cattle is butchered differently, and the Picanha is a very select and treasured cut. What I got when I ordered it at pitchfork was completely inconsistent with any Picanha that I've had at authentic places. I actually don't believe it's a true Picanha cut - perhaps a tri-tip, which is the closest American cut. It was also seasoned completely inconsistently with true Picanha. But that's minor. What has been consistent is the terribly slow execution and a seemingly undertrained staff. On my most recent visit, a birthday celebration with my fiancé and a couple of friends, my experience was the worst it's been, not just at pitchfork, but at any restaurant. We were seated outside, overlooking a swap that even the server joked about. I was excited to see Wagyu on the menu, having had it in Japan, where Wagyu beef originates. The menu showed the entre at "market price." As a consumer who's dined extensively, my experience at every reputable restaurant has been that "market price" dishes may be as much as 20% higher than other menu selections, and in the rare cases that it's not, the service staff observes the etiquette to call inform me that the cost is an outlier. I was curious about the "Australian Wagyu" offered here. Until then, I was unaware of Wagyu cattle being raised outside of Japan. Our server knew nothing about it, but after hearing multiple nightly "specials" of various "draged" cuts (I assume the card she was reading from, had abbreviated dry aged), and considering the $38 pork chop I opted for the Wagyu with the encouragement of my server. With an average price of $50 from the rest of the grill section of the menu, I was comfortable in a slightly higher market price. After waiting for an hour for our meals to arrive, without complaining, mind you, our dinners were delivered. I should also note that it took 15-20 minutes to have a bottle of wine brought to the table - and then we were asked if we would like wine service or if we'd be pouring our own. Who asks that? Is there a charge for you to pour my wine? Visits to our table were few and far between, so I'm glad we didn't wait for that service. Another interesting note, Pitchfork offers sauces for your steak for $7-$8. Aren't most chefs offended when you pour sauce on a quality steak? But the server raved about it so we each ordered sauce on the side. Neither of us ate it. It wasn't good. The steak itself was actually tasty - better than what I'd had on my previous two visits - but not $135 good! Not even close. I was shocked to see this amount on my bill and asked if it was a typo. The server said she wanted to go talk to her manager. She case back 10-15 minutes later and said she was sorry and she should have let me know that it was far more expensive than anything else on the menu. After a minute of discussion, she said she wanted to go to to her manager again. Another 15 minutes later, Steve showed up with a chip on his shoulder, and launched into a condescending talk about "my responsibilities as a customer." Steve had a distinct air of "I worked at my daddy's used car dealership, and therefore I am the man" with less customer service skill than Applebee's night manager. He asked me if I'd ever ordered market price before. I told him that I had indeed, multiple times over, but that I'd never encountered a market price 300%-400% of the price of other menu items. His response was "what are you talking about... 300-400%?" I explained to him that 3x=300% etc. After some more escalating banter around him trying to compare his restaurant to Ken Stewart's (which by the way is FAR superior, not even in the same category), he swore at me. I'm not proud of it, but I swore back - more than once. IT was an ugly scene, unlike any other I've ever experienced in any restaurant. The whole experience, and Steve specifically, ruined what should have been a nice birthday dinner with my fiancé. There are so many wonderful restaurants in the area, who not only serve great food, but who treat customers well and appreciate their business. Pitchfork never see another penny of my money and I sincerely hope that others will heed the warning and stay away as well. read more
