If any place ever made me regret not living in Glendale, it's the Corner Market. I don't even know if I should talk about the produce and specialty foods or the sandwiches first, but let's start with the specialty foods. Anytime I am in town, I stop by to purchase Russian/Armenian staples I can't find near home. It's always a hit, never a miss. The ice creams are fresh, the produce is great (and they have some seasonal finds that I'm always happy to get my hands on!!), and the whole place is so neat and organized! (I work in healthcare, so I care about those things a LOT!) The owner, Ray, and his dad and staff are also always so sweet! They're the nicest people! Now, the sandwiches. At the risk of sounding like a fat kid, I will share that I literally day dream about their sandwiches almost daily. I mean, thank GOD I don't live in Glendale or else I would eat one every day. My fave has been anything with Mortadella... damn I am drooling as I write this. The cold mortadella, the warm mortadella, the breakfast mortadella... they are all soooooo good!!! I am 100000% certain that these are THE BEST SANDWICHES IN TOWN and the best I have ever had in my life! Life hack: Order by phone and pick it up to beat the foot traffic. Thank me later! read more

Honestly, I'm always looking for a good sandwich spot, Always. My favorite sandwich is in Newport Beach because they have the best bread. Superb sandwiches sold here! Ended up trying the Spicy Italian and it was excellent. Bread was nice and crisp and the sandwich had a nice kick to it. Service was quick. No. But honestly, most sandwiches out this way are about the same price and the sandwiches at corner market are just better. The spicy Italiano in particular is everything I look for in a sandwich. A little gem of a place for some of the best sandwiches in town. Considering inflation the price gets you what you pay for. They don't skimp on the meat and their sandwiches are balanced in veggies, meats, cheese and toppings. I gladly pay $16-$18 for a sandwich. They're pretty big and filling. Parking is limited but haven't had an issue yet. We like to call our order in in advance to minimize the wait time. We love how fresh everything tastes and it's a cozy vibe inside. Worth the trip. I came here to try the pastrami sandwich influencers online were raving about. It barely had any flavor and hardly any pastrami. I had to add spicy mustard when I got home. Once I found parking, walked inside, the vibe wasn't that great, very small and not much inside. I had to wait in line for while, person in front of me was just chatting and bit inconsiderate of our waiting time. So was already a bit annoyed. What I mean about sandwiches are great deli-type sandwiches with good balance. The Pastrami here are not the typical cuts you may find elsewhere. There is a certain restaurant class strived here. Every sandwich is made fresh and cold cuts are sliced to order. I think Corner Market rivals other established deli joints in Glendale. There is no customer parking thus you will have to rely on your parallel parking skills. I've been reading that this place has an excellent pastrami sandwich. I got the real deal pastrami sandwich and it lived up to the hype. First the bread was really good. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Next, the pastrami itself was so tasty. I liked that it wasn't full of fat or really greasy. Finally the sandwich was put together so well. Some places do pastrami sandwiches that are messy. You end up with greasy meat, soggy bread and mustard all over the place. However this sandwich was well put together. I was confused at first, because I assumed that they were only a simple corner store, but one day I went in and realized that they also offered subs. I can pretty much say that they have one of the best Italian subs I've ever had. The other sandwiches are good as well but so far that's my favorite. Sandwiches made to order, super fresh ingredients, and friendly service. Toasty bread but not too toasty. The ingredients weren't flopping out of the sandwich (a pet peeve of mine), generous portions of meat, and you can tell it was assembled with great care. The market is very neat and has some fresh ingredients and snacks - fruit, veggies, chips, cheese, drinks and some teas and canned goodies. I also bought some dried fruit candies - sour lavashak.
