Definitely a hidden gem within Glendale! It's ~10 minutes away from the Galleria but I have never heard of this spot until I randomly came upon it on Instagram. It's literally a corner market amongst a pretty busy 4 way cross street and parking is whatever you find on the streets near the houses/apartments. We came before the rush from the phone orders and in person orders but each person after was given an estimate of 20-30 minutes until their order was ready. They make everything on the spot so it's the freshest and best quality it could be. I love that it is an actual market because you can browse through after placing your order to get chips, drinks or other goodies they sell. We tried their Italian lemon soda and chips and it was the perfect pairing! We both got pastramis but I got the spicy special one they had and found that it had more protein and veggies but were both delicious. The baguette is the perfect texture of not too soft and not too hard. The whole sandwich is pretty big so we definitely had left overs to devour afterwards. I could actually believe that these are the best sandwiches in town! They have so much flavor, and there is quite a significant portion to enjoy. Sitting at the literal corner of the street, they have two parking spots on the driveway and limited parking on the street, as it's busy! The Market has a small variety of necessities, snacks, and fresh goods inside. I didn't get to explore it much! I believe we met the owner when ordering, and he recommended the most popular sandwiches, specifically the pastrami ones. I got the Real Deal Brisket Pastrami sandwich, which came with 15-hour-smoked brisket pastrami, shredded lettuce, Swiss cheese, pickles, mayo, and mustard. My good friend Nate told me I had to try Corner Market's brisket pastrami some time last year. Nate was right. I ordered the #6 The Real Deal Brisket Pastrami ($16.99) that comes with 15hr smoked brisket, shredded lettuce, swiss cheese, pickles, mustard & mayo. I asked for no cheese (that how I like my pastrami). It was great. Love the smokiness & brine on the pastrami. They are cut medium thick and I really loved the bread they use that has a slight crunch to the exterior. The shredded lettuce, mustard & mayo are great compliments to the sandwich. I just think the price is a little high for not the biggest of sandwiches. Service was great. The owner (gentleman) was kind to us, took our orders and offered for us to sit outside while we waited as he made our 2 sandwiches. He brought our sandwiches to us outside when they were ready. My cousin ordered his pastrami #8 Rayz Way that comes with horseradish aioli and liked it. I remember when this market was Korean owned (Lexington Market) decades ago and we'd stop in for refreshments after a run of basketball games. I got the NEW turkey arugula with added Peppercinis and it was soooo fresh and light. Loved every bite and highly suggest. Despite the wonderful reviews, the sandwiches did not live up to the hype. I got the spicy italiano and brisket pastrami rayz way. The baguette was toasted with a perfect crunch and pastrami one was good and but spicy italiano was disappointing. It tastes like any other italian sandwich, nothing special. There was too much mayo. It would've tasted so much better with some kind of chili. Each sandwich was $16-$17 which is on the expensive side. I've had some great sandwiches in New York and New Jersey so I'm always on the prowl for sandwiches. I saw a post about Corner Market which was only about a 30 minute drive away with no traffic so I headed out. Luckily the place is in a neighborhood so parking wasn't too hard to find. There are two dedicated driveway parking spots too which is a converted house to store. They are fast so you don't need to wait long and they have tables on the porch so you can eat outside but most people seemed to order to go. You place your order, wait outside and they bring your order to you. They have a set menu of 11 sandwiches to choose from. In a previous post I saw they offered a special Market Sandwich which sounded like a Poorboy. Unfortunately, the day I went it was no longer offered. I really wanted a Poorboy so I should have asked if it was possible to order the Market Sandwich. I ended up getting The Trio instead. My son and daughter had me pick up a Brisket Pastrami Rayz Way for them. The sandwiches average about $17 each but are large so enough for two meals. The kids liked their sandwiches but said since the meat sliced thin they said you can't really get the pastrami taste as well. I liked my sandwich, the roll was fresh, soft, good produce and a good serving of meats in the sandwich. Easy location to get to, good value, good sandwiches, very clean and pleasant people. I don't see what all the hoopla is all about. The subs here are OK, not great. There are many better sub shops in LA. The rolls are ordinary. For the price, there's not enough meat in the sandwich. I haven't been back in a while and decided to do so this week. I'm so disappointed to say there has been a dip in quality and value. In my most recent order, the bread was a bit stale, which was particularly unfortunate as the sandwich was a tad dry, and they skimped out on veggies. For a $16 sandwich before taxes I expect way more out of my meal. Also there is no longer a lunch deal that includes a free drink with purchase. While it's not the biggest loss, it was definitely a bummer. Who doesn't love a fizzy drink with their lunch? Unfortunately, I'm not sure I'll be returning soon. Delicious sandwich! We ordered the #18 . The only thing that turns me off was the wait. 30minutes! Wait for a single sandwich!! There is no excuse, busy or not you have to work on this! Customers should not wait that long. I would be back if they can improve this to 15 minutes wait and that's reasonable. This is in response to you Mr. Ray, again you are making excuses instead of making a concrete answer. I've been in a lot of sandwiches businesses and they anticipate that it can get busy. And they have built a system where wait times can be reduced especially to those in the store already. I've been a Glendale resident for almost 30 years and believe me that I'm proud that we have this type of business that's being recognized. So maybe practice a little more on how your approach should be with your customers, express some gratitude and show that you valued their feedback!
