Parking is never an issue since they have a stand-alone business with their own parking lot. The entire staff is punctual, friendly, and professional from the front desk staff, technicians, and my dentist. The facility is immaculately clean, and the equipment is state of the art. The dental technicians are gentle and caring which make the experience here much more tolerable. Although the prices are higher than my previous dentist office, I don't mind paying the premium prices and feel they are justified. It's been about a half a year since my first visit and have had several visits and should wrap up with a crown this week. I recommend this office if you're in need of a new dental office.

All expense options were explained clearly, the procedure went smoothly, and follow up care was provided in writing so we knew what to do. Fast forward a year later to today. I needed a cracked/infected tooth removed. My dentist couldn't fit me in until September. I called Brea Oral Surgery and was scheduled for a consult 2 days later. They fit me in for a tooth extraction the next week! I was very anxious as my insurance wouldn't pay to put me under, only for local numbing. She let me put on my airpods and she gave me dark glasses, too, so the light wouldn't be too bright. The procedure was easy easy. I didn't feel a thing!! Now, it's 3 hours later, and I'm resting comfortably. I highly recommend Brea Oral Surgery!

When I returned later, Debbie went over and showed me the documents before I signed anything, which made me feel a lot more comfortable. I also spoke with a family friend in dentistry, and they reassured me that the procedures they proposed were actually necessary, which helped ease some of my concerns. During my visit again, Dr. Gaffino explained that my pain was due to the tooth needing a bit more shaving since I couldn't feel it while numb from the other day. Once she adjusted it, the pressure and ache went away almost instantly. The whole visit was quick, efficient, and I walked out with no more pain/discomfort. Overall, I appreciated the improved bedside manner, communication, and quick and effective work this time around! This visit felt much more helpful and fair.

But my absolute most favorite person to talk to and get my cleanings done with is Huang. She's so down to earth and easy to talk to. She's careful and wont wet you and poke you on accident. She explains everything she does. And the whole cleaning experience feels like a spa! They even give you a hot towel to clean your chin/mouth area up when you're done. There's snacks in there and drinks. Everything is clean and the outside area is adorable. I don't have trouble parking and I don't have to wait. Just walk in and they are ready for my appointment! I saw a video online recently that said it's actually very difficult to find good dentists to do cleanings because many are shady and will only have their dental assistants polish your teeth. I do not have that experience here. The technology is modern and advanced, even some of my old dental places didn't have what they have here. Note: I am a cash paying customer. I do not go through insurance. It's a little expensive compared to other places but you get what you pay for. The experience is much much much better here. And for anyone worried about dealing with people who have accents from their home country, that's also not the case here. They speak fluent English with no accent. After my insurance coverage I was told I would pay $600 out-of-pocket. Soon after I discovered I was pregnant so did not go back to get the laser cleaning done. The health of my gums was a huge concern during my pregnancy since pregnancies are already tough on one's teeth. After my pregnancy, I decided to go to another dentist for a second opinion on the health of my gums. They told me my teeth and gums were in excellent health and just really needed a good cleaning. My cleaning was done by the new dentist and my teeth and gums fill amazing again. This place is not what it used to be. It is very money driven now and it's disappointing. I have now changed my primary dental office to the new dentist who is able to take care of me without needing a $600 laser cleaning. It feels like they took my concern and tried to profit off of it as much as they could.

I decided to look into other options and did a search for places I could pay out of pocket. When I lived in Mexico, I had been using the services at a local hospital, paying a monthly membership fee for their services so imagine my surprise when I found out that the exact same system existed here. That was when I found Dr. Marisse so I booked an appointment. I found her originally on Zocdoc and the nearest appointment was in a month and a half. Within a day of making the appointment, I was called by the office to Nurse Shawna who wanted to make sure that I knew that all appointments needed a preliminary chat with the Doc, after which I could book my appointment. thanked me for letting her know that the next available appointment was that far away. It turned out there was a mix-up and that she did have more immediate appointments available. There is plenty of parking, as it is in shared parking lot with other businesses. However, there are two buildings with the same building number but with different locale numbers. Upper Echelon is in the building nearest to the AAA and the Farmer Boys. At the appointment, everything was clearly explained and we went over a sort of plan of attack, with regards to my concerns and what I needed to do. I appreciated paying less per month for the membership, which includes as many appointments as you want. The lab work and the tests are at wholesale prices so even with the membership fee and registration, all of this was cheaper than the plan I was going to get with insurance. What I appreciated was the quickness of getting an appointment. I have always hated waiting a few weeks, as a new patient, before actually being seen but I was able to book this within a week of the appointment. It was a week because their availability interfered with my work hours. Otherwise, I would have been seen earlier. All in all, it is pretty convenient and a wallet-friendly option. After that first appointment and the lab results came in, Dr. Marisse wrote a VERY long email detailing every point of concern. Which I appreciated because I went for answers and I was getting them. If you need a straightforward person to tell you what you need to be doing and not someone who has to be on your ass every step of the way, this is the ideal option. I would say the ONLY con is that they do not have appointments during the weekends. And since I work during the week, I have to take time off to go to an appointment.

Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

THEY REFUSED TO TREAT ME, AFTER I LEFT MY URINE SAMPLE....UNLESS I PAID WHAT FEELS LIKE A $50 EXTORTION FEE, in order to give me my prescription. When the doctor says they don't hold back care because of an unpaid balance, that is entirely incorrect, and I believe he's lying. His behavior is reprehensible, and he is fully aware of this. Now I get 15 minutes plus waiting each time and incoherent assistants. Last time I left a message for the doctor, I had to repeat a simple question 3 times because they didn't understand it the first two times. Of course never heard back from them. I don't know if they even relayed the message. The doctor is still great so it's a shame but time for a new one.

A couple of things I used to hate about going to my previous dentist: 1. scary needles and painful shots 2. not knowing if I actually had a problem that needed to be fixed 3. horrible chairside manners 4. expensive It took only one visit with Dr. Bae to totally reverse my thinking about dentists and dentistry. He took the time to welcome me personally, he explained EVERYTHING (what my problems were, what the solution was, and how it was going to be done), and he was sooooo gentle! I literally felt NOTHING when he had to numb me with a shot and I felt completely comfortable with the way he and his staff handle everything from start to finish. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone! After a year and reading lots of reviews decided to choose Cornerstone Dental Care. The health of my gums was a huge concern during my pregnancy since pregnancies are already tough on one's teeth. After my pregnancy, I decided to go to another dentist for a second opinion on the health of my gums. They told me my teeth and gums were in excellent health and just really needed a good cleaning. My cleaning was done by the new dentist and my teeth and gums fill amazing again. This place is not what it used to be. It is very money driven now and it's disappointing. I have now changed my primary dental office to the new dentist who is able to take care of me without needing a $600 laser cleaning. It feels like they took my concern and tried to profit off of it as much as they could.

Parking is never an issue since they have a stand-alone business with their own parking lot. The entire staff is punctual, friendly, and professional from the front desk staff, technicians, and my dentist. The facility is immaculately clean, and the equipment is state of the art. The dental technicians are gentle and caring which make the experience here much more tolerable. Although the prices are higher than my previous dentist office, I don't mind paying the premium prices and feel they are justified. It's been about a half a year since my first visit and have had several visits and should wrap up with a crown this week. I recommend this office if you're in need of a new dental office.
