Tried to scam me. At the time of payment he hiked up the price. When I referred back to the price I was quoted for labor and parts, he said he lied about the price of the parts (which he said was $86 originally) saying they were cheaper than they really were to be nice, but now that I was being a "bitch" (for asking to pay what he originally had said) he was gonna charge me the full amount the parts really were (upwards of $300). When I asked to see the receipt for the parts he refused and ended up letting me pay them the original amount, but not without screaming names at me during the process. He genuinely seems unstable I would watch out for your safety when booking this guy, especially if you're a woman. read more

Nicholas was INCREDIBLE! He was very polite, educational, and absolutely a rockstar of a human being. He was able to fix my girlfriend's Subaru very quickly. We had a battery crack and it was amazing to be walked through the steps. We ended up needing to replace the battery holder & he was able to fix our A/C!!! I tried looking into other mobile mechanics, but they didn't have availability for a couple of weeks. So, I submitted a request for repair work to this place on the morning of the Fourth of July thinking that they'll get around to it later on the week when they can as I wasn't really in a rush. I got a call that same morning, which I missed, no VM left. A few minutes later there was a follow up call, and I was told they could come in today. They requested my address and a photo of my license plate to be sent by text. They explained they had a couple jobs first but would see me right after. I explained I wasn't even expecting this work to happen today so anytime would be fine, we would be home. So after a couple of hours I get another call saying that I was farther out east than they realized and it would take a while to get to me. Again I said no problem, no time was specified anyway. When the guy showed up, he ended up talking to my husband as I was occupied, but it was a really straightforward battery replacement. Turns out the parts place gave him the wrong battery which he quickly realized so he had to head back out. Sure enough, he got the correct battery and replaced mine within a few minutes. Cheaper and faster than getting it towed somewhere. read more

Unfortunately, the mechanic (or owner) showed up drunk and continued to drink on the job. I've never seen anything like it, but to say the least it ended with me being stranded with a broken down vehicle in the rain wasting hours of my time. Quick turnaround and amazing effort. Had a bolt stuck when removing the alternator, and he was able remove skillfully with a torch and extractor. To top things off, the only bolt we could find to install the new alternator, Nissan wants to sell you a pack of 5 :/ , was sourced at a junkyard after meticulous scanning. Thank you! The best thing about Nicholas' service was that he arrived according to his stated time schedule and once paid he drove away. Unfortunately he smelled of alcohol and immediately complained of having a difficult day. He language was vulgar (every sentence contained at least one vulgar curse word), and he repeatedly asked us what should be his next step. When the battery he brought did not solve the problem, Nicholas asked if we wanted him to continue. He still had not completed a diagnostic. He first step on arriving was replacing the battery. I originally asked for a diagnostic, but Nicholas was adamant the problem was just the battery. He had difficulty removing the battery and broke the battery box. Nicholas complained that he would have to return the unused battery and complained that his 12gauge socket wrench was missing and that we should cover the cost (the socket component fell inside the engine area while he was banging on the battery bolts). Nicholas was rude, demanding that we listen to his instructions, hold flash lights, carry batteries, and look for equipment he dropped. All of these are tasks I imagine a skilled mechanic would handle and handle without the constant explicit and vulgar language. At the end of the ordeal, Nicholas complained about the battery he would have to return (no one asked him to bring a battery, he purchased the battery on the assumption the battery was faulty), complained about the socket wrench part that he dropped inside the engine area, complained that we would not carry the battery or look hard enough for the missing socket wrench part, and complained he would only get the cost for the diagnostic. If you need a mechanic and you are in a pinch, only use Nicholas if you are certain he is not having a difficult day, you are willing to put up with his constant cursing, and you are willing to be his mechanic advisor and assistant. Overall, I was glad to pay his quoted charge just to get him out of the neighborhood. read more

Nicholas just saved me yesterday. I ran over a board with nails in it yesterday morning but I was able to get my truck to a nearby tire shop. The guy was very friendly, took off the tire and "patched" it up, and sent me off for a quick and affordable repair. Eight hours later I'm leaving my office and the tire is completely flat. The tire guy from the morning sealed one hole... of many. My spare is garbage as it's the original from 2005 and the jack that comes with my Silverado cannot lift my truck off the ground. I'm pretty much stranded, in a parking garage where tow trucks cannot fit. This Yelp page led me to Nicholas who explained what he could do for me, gave me a very reasonable number and headed straight to me even in after-5-traffic. He took off the tire, found the other two holes, plugged them up, put it back on and filled it up. He was done in an hour and could not have been more helpful / friendly everything you hope for in a mechanic. I was in Austin visiting a couple of friends and on Sunday, the day I was supposed to drive back to Dallas, I woke up with the engine light on. Basically a nightmare. If there is a mechanic place open on a Sunday, it's more than likely expensive. I'm not sure how I got so lucky to come across this mobile mechanic, but I did. I called and left a message explaining what was going on. Got a call back from Nicholas and found out I was a 5 min drive from him! Since I was visiting I didn't have a place for him to meet me so I went to him. Easy! The light was on, because the gas cap was loose (smh) and he also fixed my brakes and rotors that beyond needed to be done all while he was recovering from food poisoning. I can not recommend someone enough. He explained why he charges what he does, not that he needs to... the prices are completely reasonable. He is extremely experienced and I could not be more grateful that he took time out of his day off to get my car taken care of before my trip back home. I had a flat and called Cornerstone to get someone to come and fix it. The individual did come but all he did was put air in it and collect almost $60 in cash and told me to drive to Discount Tires (where I got my tires) to get it fixed. As I was waiting at Discount Tires, Cornerstone called and asked if the person they had sent out had fixed the tire. I told him no and that only air had been put into the tire and that I was sitting at Discount Tire. He replied that that was not the story he was being told. I said well that was what happened and that I was sitting at Discount Tires (it had a nail in it) to get it fixed. I added that what had been charged was a little much for putting air into the tires and he agreed and then terminated the call. read more

I called Cornerstone because our car wouldn't start. We thought it was the starter or alternator. Because it was stuck in a parking garage, we called them because of their great reviews. After leaving a message we were called right back and informed that the mechanic would give us a call. Well Randy called me promptly and asked me all the symptoms and then gave me advice as to what the problem might be. Well low and behold he was right and the problem was fixed right away with out any cost! I thanked him profusely and he told me he was happy to help without us having to waste the cost of the visit. ** CAVEAT EMPTOR ** - I agree with Michael D. & Kathleen K. I normally like to write positive reviews but because of the dangerous and horrible experience I felt like I had to warn others. It was also nice to see not everyone had a bad experience but again, I felt like I had to warn others of what happened to me. Nicholas Meador came to my home to "make my vehicle run like a beast" and arrived with another person by the name of Randy. My vehicle that WAS DRIVABLE before he touched it. Then after he touch it, WAS NOT DRIVABLE or was considered dangerous to drive. REALLY! After not making it right and using the excuse that I had contacted Randy after they left, even though I contracted with CornerStone Auto Repair (Nicholas Meador). The reason I contact Randy was because after they said the work was done, a couple hours, I went outside and Nicholas Meador was completely inebriated. He was not able to put a sentence together so I was forced to deal with Randy. Randy was noticeably embarrassed and I could tell wanted to get out of there as fast as possible at this point. Randy told me Nicholas used to work for him but because of this issue was let go and that this was the reason Randy did not like working with Nicholas but looking at other reviews, it looks like Randy worked with Nicholas many other times. Randy, which at the time represented CornerStone Auto Repair (Nicholas Meador) assured me that he would make sure everything would be put right but needed to "get Nicholas out of here". So I was forced after almost a month of not being able to drive the vehicle, I hired WhiteHead Automotive, after being recommended by multiple hot-rod shops in town. I also noticed they were also voted best mobile mechanic by the Austin Chronicle. Donnie from Whitehead Automotive (Austin) arrived on time and easy to schedule, he showed us how unprofessional and dangerous things were put back together on my vehicle (i.e... carburetor gasket backwards, carburetor riser was upside down and had no idea how to stab a distributor) which was the reason the vehicle no longer was capable of being driven. Donnie told me, had it been driven it could have ruined the engine costing me many thousands of dollars as well as been very dangerous. Donnie, told me it might cost an hour or a bit more but wanted to start over. With only a $15 part (timing-plate, as it was missing), he correctly installed timing-plate, reinstalled the gasket, riser and carburetor, vacuum hoses, properly reset timing, reset timing order, restabbed distributor and got the vehicle running like never before - fantastic. With only needing a $15 part. Again, I normally only write reviews for good work but after the disastrous experience I felt like I had to warn others. I at least knew enough to know what needed to be done but someone looking for a trusted solution - RUN FROM THIS MECHANIC! Now seeing the other reviews, I would hate to see someone that is in trouble depending on this person not to mention getting inebriated at my home was a serious crime as far as I am concerned, not to mention the liability. THE OTHER TAKE AWAY: ask for proof of insurance, look-up online reviews and/or referrals and follow-up. NEVER AGAIN and my mistake, as I did not do some homework before. I contacted one of the other reviewers listed below and heard another story after that person made the positive post that would make your toes curl. I hope he gets help and can imagine for easy stuff and/or things he can do - it would work out. read more

Nicholas has helped me a couple of times now. The first was a battery issue on my Toyota Tacoma. Wasn't too serious - he advised me to buy some stuff at O'Reilly and make the quick fix myself, its easy and would save me a bunch of money. Could have gouged me but didn't ! That integrity is appreciated, especially in the auto repair business. Second was with a bunch of flats I had on my food trailer, I thought the tires were goners but were just broken valve stems! NO CALL, NO SHOW NICHOLAS- I had set up a time for Nicholas to come out today and replace my rotors and brake pads (front only). He stated he would be here in 1.5 hours. It's now been 2.5 hours. I finally just GAVE UP after calling him (left voicemail) and texting him multiple times and not receiving any responses. I looked up another mobile mechanic at a lower rate and booked them. This was my first time attempting to use Cornerstone Mobile Auto Repair and I was greatly disappointed of the outcome. I will be sure to educate my family and friends what my (first) experience was; therefore, recommending that they never use Cornerstone Mobile Auto Repair services. Nicohas- Don't say you are going to do something and then don't do it. I understand life happens. I wish I would have found Nicholas when my car first fell dead. I had a bad battery & O'Reilly gave me the wrong one which later caused another issue. Long story short, I had my car towed to Lamb's Automotive and the did replace my fuse box; however, I spent $400 to only be told that I had a bad alternator. I did ask them how much it would cost to replace that and I was quoted an additional $750. WTF... Lucky I had a warranty on my alternator and I was able to return it. I searched yelp for a mobile mechanic yesterday, on a Sunday, and Nicholas returned my call. I returned his call this morning, Monday at 6:45, and he was able to give me a quote and arrived at 8:30 to fix my car. He completed the work in an hour & half. He also noticed another simple issue and replaced a blown fuse. Now ALL of my lights are off and my car is running well. I Thank God that I found Nicholas. read more

Fantastic, Quick, and Reasonable Service! Nicholas was able to come right out to my house when I called him and took care of my problem quickly at a very reasonable price. I messed up and installed my new battery backwards and fried the alternator wire plus a few fuses. I have a classic 1986 MR2 in near mint condition and takes some "old school" skills to troubleshoot and repair. Nicholas isolated the problem quickly and my little car was cranking in no time. Where have you been all my life? We had 3 cars that each needed a different repair. He came to our home, 1) diagnosed one but couldn't fix it (good to know what it REALLY is as I head to dealership), 2) he removed 2 totally corroded batteries from another, WENT AND BOUGHT THE BATTERIES FOR US, and installed the new ones and 3) cleaned a bunch of connections on the third which was causing the engine light to come on. I had a coolant leak in my 2003 Ford Expedition, unfortunately it wasn't just a hose I could replace myself so I called Nicholas. Turns out it was the coolant intake manifold. In order to replace it on this Ford you have to remove everything on top of the engine, in other words it's a big job. Nicholas came over and started on it early and despite some unexpected rain he finished the job quickly. This is the second time I've used him and both times I've been very pleased with the outcome.
