What a cute little spot! Sitting in the courtyard felt as though we stepped into a different time and place and was so relaxing. The ambiance was delightful, the service was more than pleasant and the gift shop is lovely. The coffee here is to die for. The food is delicious as well! I am giving 4 stars only because after we all tasted the quiche we decided it was too lukewarm and bland tasting. Wouldn't order that again, but everything else met or exceeded expectations! One of my favorite places for breakfast or lunch! The ambience is great with outdoor shaded seating and tons of green plants surrounding it. For the cafe you do have to order at the counter inside the little shop where they will give you a table number, so they do not offer table service. They have self-serve water carafes, glasses, and antique silverware to help yourself to use. Be sure to try the Cilbir and Lil Dutch Babies, which are both amazing from the menu and they make a good cup of coffee. If you visit on a weekend, be prepared for a line. I would also suggest checking the website to be sure they are open as they do occasionally close for private events. I am almost never out past 9pm anymore but after a beautiful concert we wandered over here thinking the restaurant might be open for a late night dinner. It wasn't but the cafe was! Two Boar Birria tacos ended up being the perfect meal plus $2 off all food after 9pm. The outside patio area is super clean, quiet, and very chill. I found the Coronet on Yelp and it had great reviews as well as NightJar the cocktail bar next door. This restaurant was a great experience like old school fine dining. The ambiance is amazing there is nothing else like it in the city very classy but with an older vibe. The food was fantastic we tried a few different appetizers and everything was delicious. I got the seafood option for dinner which did not disappoint at all and my boyfriend got the game of the day which was Venison. The cocktail menu is also very good and you can bring drinks from Nightjar as well. Additionally our waitress and the staff were super attentive and knowledgeable and came around often. This very small cafe is a great spot to get a meal and have a bite after a show at Tucson Convention Center. Next to the restaurant on Meyer Street, we were walking around and saw the sign and stopped for breakfast. We arrived close to when it open at 8:30am and ordered breakfast. Then a group of customers came and the two employees were in charge of ordering and bringing everything out to the tables. So if its crowded service might be slower, but we had excellent service this Saturday morning. It was recommended to try the mushroom topping on my eggs benedict, as I was eager to order the brisket., and picked half and half. What a great recommendation! I loved my breakfast and want everyone to come here. My husband ordered the blueberry lemon waffle with maple syrup. This was nothing special, and I had two bites, and that was enough for me. I loved the patio. I've been here at night after a watching the Tucson symphony at Linda Ronstadt music hall, and had the same great experience. Check it out! They serve alcohol but I'm not a beer or wine drinker; there is a fridge with bottles and cans for purchase so you can enjoy meats, cheeses and that sort of crudo on the patio. I thought the food was really good, but just a little disappointed that they couldn't just do another type of egg choice. You're pretty much stuck with poached eggs. The service was quite friendly and prompt. They got our food out rather quickly and was spot on. There were no mess ups in our order. We really loved the outside seating and the vegetation. Just make sure you're not sitting under one of the umbrellas that has sprinklers right above it. You might end up getting dripped on while you eat. I highly recommend this place! read more

I tried a few different items and everything was delicious. My favorite was the breakfast bowl with crispy tofu because it's many different flavors in one dish. Can't believe I have missed this gem when I have visited Downtown Tucson in the past. It's just oozes charm. And the staff is personable, service oriented and just plain super nice. At first glance, it just looks like a basic coffee house. But they actually have a solid for lunch and breakfast. I had the southwestern style. Which was fried eggs, black beans, and potatoes. It was delicious. The green sauce they put over the eggs really made the dish. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The potatoes were crisp and the sauce - or should I say green sauce - had a little bit of spice, but it wasn't overwhelming either. The other thing I'll mention was I ordered a black iced tea. Sometimes it's super watery or it's so concentrated. It'll make your stomach churn. This Place simply nailed it. The Irish Black iced tea was absolutely delicious. It had wonderful flavor. It wasn't too deep or rich. And it wasn't to light it was literally just perfect . Frankly, I should've got another one to go. They do have indoor seating. But the patio is really where it's at. They have outdoor misters too. Which makes it a little bit more palatable in the Tucson sun. read more

An amazing venue for a relaxed and romantic breakfast or lunch. The patio seating is unique and absolutely wonderful! There is a small amount of indoor seating for times when outdoor temps or weather are not cooperating. My Eggs Benedict were wonderful and I especially enjoyed the potato galette in place of the usual English Muffin. My partner's Çilbir was also totally enjoyable. The coffee was good. You order at the main counter where they give you a number to put on the table and they deliver the food. Usually I prefer traditional table service but this place was so charming that I didn't mind. There is plenty of on street parking in this charming Barrio Viejo neighborhood. We went early on a Monday morning and there was no wait. I imagine that on busy weekends this place gets quite busy so plan accordingly. In short though, this is one of the most delightful breakfast places we have ever tried. Finally got to try out Nightjar/ (Mayer Ave cafe/The Coronet?) ?? [ Glad I was adamant about trying this place, because their hours posted on Google said it was closed (perhaps with different names/changes?) ... I gave em call and found they were open!!! Whoohoo!] With the very convenient parking lot outback, but not so convenient signs as to where to enter, or that there was more then one entrance, we found out way through the front.. Upon walking in, you're immediately met with a beautiful, quiet courtyard, that leads down various paths, one of which leads to the café. Inside you can find the cafe counter, as well as various gifts, treats, and goodies of all sorts, as well as a friendly great from the baristas behind the counter. The daytime menu, (8-2), is a unique, yet simple variety of food, that is appealing yet also not your standardized breakfast brunch food by any means... from granola at $13, to a more sophisticated Barrio Gravelax bagel w/ side salad at $18 - this is by far one of the more intriguing places in town for the daytime options, with a price to match. I tried what felt like a familiar, yet interesting enough southern bowl, which consisted of two fried eggs, black beans, spuds (potatoes), with warm green chili & cilantro lime crema at $15, with the option of adding Dragoon session sausage at $8, or bacon for $6 dollars more, (which I opted out of to not burn a hole in my pocket before noon). My mother splurged a bit and got the Gravelax bagel w/ side salad at $18. We also picked out two café drinks, a café Americano (hot), and an iced mocha, which came out as hot, but eventually got the right one (iced).. all very tasty!! Both dishes, we agreed, were very well prepared and plated beautifully.. mine caught me off guard a slight bit, when I realized I never specified over-easy eggs, which ultimately was a little much to stomach, but very much appreciated the presentation. My mother expressed her enjoyment of the unique nature of the Gravelax bagel w/ side salad, but unfortunately, we both felt it was a little more money then was reasonable for what it ultimately was.. which essentially, is just a bagel with fish and a small small side... perhaps because it had fish? and a small portion of salad? I guess that it validates the price.. but, felt because of the many vast breakfast/lunch spots in town to choose from at a more reasonable price, ultimately felt a bit of a stretch, especially for my wallet and for dropping big bucks all before noon. Our café experience was definitely the highlight of our experience! Very well the best coffees we've had in a while, and why I left with at least some satisfaction.. This place has so much to offer in atmosphere, quality of service, and delicious drinks, so I hope to see more diversity when it comes to menus and price points to suit all walks of life that could really appreciate this beautiful place, and really benefit this business and amplify its potential. :) Perhaps I'll come with guests for an fancy evening at (Nightjar? Coronet?), where I can justify a more pricy, sophisticated option. read more

Horrible HOST! Empty tables everywhere. Would not let us sit at the bar becase we just wanted drinks and appetizers, not full meal. Took us to the dark back bar. Awful. Left to hotel bar, next door. I've been wanting to try the Cafe's poutine for quite some time now and was not disappointed. In addition to the poutine, I tried the olives with preserved lemon and the roasted artichoke hearts. Everything was tasty and I would definitely order them all again. The poutine's fries were 'chip' cut (like the fries from Wendy's), and the portion is enough to share between two people. The gravy was rich and smoky - the fries soaked up a lot of the gravy, so I may ask for some extra gravy on the side next visit. I know that mustard is listed on the description for the poutine, but I didn't know what to expect. What came was a heaping tablespoon of 'grainy' dijon mustard. I like mustard, but I didn't need it on my poutine. I tried a complete bite, layered the fry - gravy- cheese - mustard. I think this combo make the poutine taste a bit swiss cheesy, if that makes any sense? Anyhow, I tried it, it wasn't for me, I scooped the mustard off to the side. Crisis averted. I love olives. Oftentimes, if they're offered on a menu, I order them. The olives were just slightly lemony and consisted of black, green and red olives. I'm not completely sure, but I swear the black olives were served warm, which was a really nice touch. The roasted artichoke hearts were so good, it was lick-the-dish worthy. This vegan appetizer had creamy cheese flavors that instantly won me over. If you can't get into the Coronet to dine, the Market Cafe has some great offerings to feed your hunger. read more

Hidden Gem! Don't tell too many people about this place. In an old Tucson neighborhood. A corner spot you can easily miss it but once you see the sign and the cute patios you might pull the car over in a hurry just like we did! There is even a parking lot behind the restaurant so it is easy to access no matter what time of day. You order inside and then grab your number and head out to the patio. Two sections to choose from both are super cute with surrounding plants and wonderful Mexican music. An abundance of bright colored flowers in spring. We came for breakfast. Cappuccino was spot on served in the cutest little pottery cup and saucer. The breakfast Sammy had thick bacon, chipotle mayo, runny over medium eggs. Messy and delicious, served on an everything bagel. This was a special of the day. A small side salad with a lemon olive oil dressing. Healthy and delicious this side salad is a must!! A baguette with butter was also ordered and it was heavenly. I can't wait to come back and try lunch!! read more

We had a wonderful brunch at the Coronet, lovey atmosphere and friendly staff plus farm fresh food. We both had eggs Benedict which is served on a potato cake instead of an English muffin - a nice variation that makes it gluten-free as well. I had the braised mushroom Benedict which was full of umami flavor, This comes with a house salad that is garnished with crispy carrots and I added some house potatoes which were perfectly cooked with a nice seasoning that had some paprika and other spices. This turned out to be plenty of food as I was pleasantly full afterwards. My husband had the smoked trout double Benedict which he loved, plus he added an apple upside down cake that was super most, a bit like a pound cake with crispy caramelized apples and sugar at the edges. Coffee was also very good. We will make this a regular stop when we come to Tucson. read more

Firstly, I think it's really neat that this one building has three different happenings. I have yet to go to the Restaurant and Night Jar but as soon as I do, I will also leave a review there. Secondly, the food and coffees were phenomenal! I didn't even take a picture of the beautiful plating because we just dug right in. I believe that a restaurants ambience and staff also make the place worth returning too. The outdoor patios are beautifully taken care of and have nice planetary around providing shade, a nice view and a quiet atmosphere. On top of this, Vivian and Naomi are so personable. It was our first time here and they were extremely helpful when debating what to order. They made the entire experience feel like a cozy, family outing. I would absolutely recommend the cafe.
