Large cheese dip $14.50

This was $14.50 we will not be going back. We were going here once a week for Mexican, but when I ordered this to go and he told me this was the new price of their cheese dip we were shocked.

Menu - does it look to you like the Caldo de Res is also $5.99 or $7.99??

The restaurant was not busy Saturday afternoon .The service was outstanding. Alejandro was attentive and very helpful in going over the menu. I would recommend this restaurant and will go back the next time we are in Greenville.

The interiors are colorfully decorated with plenty of indoor or bar area seating, and limited patio seating out front. I liked that their menu had cheaper options for food for those not looking to eat a full meal, which makes it ideal for visiting either before or after a game at the adjacent ballpark. Meals start off with complimentary chips and salsa, which is always appreciated while waiting for meals to be prepared. I went with 2 chicken quesadillas (one with grilled chicken and one with shredded chicken). I found both to be extremely flavorful, with high quality tortilla shell and wonderfully delicious cheese that hit all the right notes with me. Service was extremely quick and friendly as well. I wouldn't hesitate to return and would gladly recommend Viva Villa to others looking for good Mexican food in Greenville.

Not your typical Mexican restaurant. You'll order when you walk in and will be assigned a table by…read morethe staff after that. Everyone is super friendly! Chips and salsa are not complimentary, but you do get these cute little wagon wheel looking chips called duros. They're like puffed air and remind me of pork rinds but not as crunchy and probably made from flour. The drinks are all delicious and strong. The margaritas are small but watch out, they'll sneak up on you! Lots of options. They specialize in tequila and mezcal with flights as an option. The bar is the spot to be; bartenders are friendly and they have small TVs to watch whatever sports are in season. The atmosphere is a little lacking in my opinion, but it's all about the food. Food is delicious and the portions are larger than expected. We got the chips and queso, Heidi's Flautas, soup of the day, and the Birria Egg Rolls. Too much food for 2 people so we took some home. Location is in a strip mall; parking is tight and can be a challenge. We won't let that stop us though! We will be back for those delicious Birria Egg Rolls and margaritas!

The first thing that came out was the Mexican Street Corn Fries. Amazing. Highly recommend it. The picture that I saw on Yelp didn't do it justice so I took one that looks more appealing. The breakfast burrito is huge. I ate maybe 1/3 and had to take the rest to go. The Agua Frescas were fresh and fantastic. Best Horchata I have had in a long time. My wife has the Comal Toast and said it wasn't bad. It was all right. My wife is not extremely expressive when it comes to her food so sounds like it was good to me. Staff is friendly and it was a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Appears to have a full bar as well.

Our waiter was a superstar- in talking with him he shared he was from Ecuador and made suggestions for our lunch choice. We started with the beef and chicken empanadas- very good- and an order of maduros- ripe plantains. We should have stopped there because I was almost full at that point. For our entrees we chose shrimp mofongo- which we really see in small cities being that it is the national dish of Puerto Rico- and the paella for one. Both were wonderful. I would argue that the size of the paella should be be renamed as a lid of a trashcan serving. It was giant and we barely put a dent in it before asking for a to go box. I highly recommend this spot!

The only thing I'd change is using fresh-caught shrimp to give it more of that seaside flavor. The whole red snapper with coconut sauce was also full of flavor. We really enjoyed the mango and guava juices, and the tres leches dessert was amazing! Definitely a highlight of the meal. Other things we liked: the decor was nice, our waitress was a friendly young lady who made the experience pleasant, and the restroom was very clean. Overall, a solid spot for tasty Latin dishes and a comfortable atmosphere.
