Came here the other night for a family dinner. I understand that a restaurant in a smaller town has to offer a lot of different options for different clientele, but I was confused. Is this a fine dining establishment (dark wood floors, leather chairs, high ceiling) or a sports bar (SIX televisions in the dining area)? Given the height of the ceilings and the fact that the TVs were placed close to the top, they weren't even convenient to watch (if you are trying to attract the sports crowd). The high ceilings also equals lots of noise. The food was fine -- the salads looked amazing, and the pastas were tasty but nothing adventurous. I wouldn't drive all the way out here again for Italian, but a fine stop for a casual dinner if you're in the area. read more

This is only the second time I've been to Corrado's, and the reason I got so excited this time around was because I realized that THIS was the place where I got the best Lobster pasta! I had seen that around a year ago that I had a beautiful creamy lobster pasta that I could still remember the taste of and it was from Corrado's! I guess they may have changed their menu since the last time I've gone there, but this time I tried the Cesare pizza and Costa Azzura (sauce was a lobster cream brandy) and they were both delicious with perfect portioning! This restaurant is incredible. It is perfect for anything from an anniversary or birthday dinner to a casual drink and pizza after work. The service is fantastic and the food is fresh, tasty, affordable, and beautifully presented. I used to live in Woodbridge and we had Italian neighbors who thought my mom was starving us because we didn't eat three courses at each meal. I've been Corrado's twice in the last year and I have really enjoyed it both times. The parking is fine, there is a small lot outside and a larger paid lot in the back - if you're going on the weekend or after 6pm then it's free. Both times I've been it's been quite bustling and I've been seated in the upstairs loft which is great but a little loud if there is a full house. I am thoroughly disappointed with this restaurant and will no longer be coming here. The quality of the food has fallen significantly in the past year or so and what was once a go-to restaurant for my family has become a place that we avoid. The food quality is low, the staff is overburdened and frankly not even that great when they aren't, and the owner is hostile to criticism. Credit where it's due: Corrado's is clean and modern and I trust that you will not get sick from the food or anything like that. Well lit, nice. The upstairs dining area is particularly nice. Additionally, the pizza here is fine and if you are planning to stick to the pizza, you will probably like it. However, in most other aspects, I feel that this restaurant falls short. The serving staff is not very good. They often make mistakes, forget about tables, and do not provide the customer with much in terms of friendly atmosphere or quality service. I sincerely believe that "Good looks" is a trait that they search for in their waiting staff, because they are all very pretty but not very good at what they do. The food is bland and sometimes downright bad. The pasta is tasteless and the sauce feels cheap. The seafood is not as generously portioned as the menu and staff would have you believe; you will not be satiated by the shrimp. The cuts of meat are okay but frankly there are restaurants in the area that serve better cuts with better seasoning and more loving quality at a comparable price. If you complain about your food, expect to be met with resistance rather than with apologies. I very rarely ever complain about my food and even less often send it back; I try to be very considerate about the fact that chefs often have huge workloads and short time frames and try to adjust my expectations accordingly. But when I'm receiving dry meat, bland pasta, or sauce that tastes like Ragu on a slow day? Not acceptable. The staff seem like they don't believe your complaints and that you just want to cause trouble. We even spoke directly to a manager once and were simply met with apathy and a response that basically amounted to "this is the food we serve, like it or not". The parking lot is not adequate for the amount of people who come in on busy days, but I suppose that isnt the owner's fault nor does it count against the dining experience. It's something to be aware of, though. My final verdict: Not very good. There are better options for Italian food in the area at comparable prices, and I don't think that the staff here really deserves your money all that much. read more

I was so happy with the service and the food. The Lasagna is so phenomenal. We ordered appetizers that were decent, and all the portions are really generous. My boyfriend was happy with the pizza as well. Overall, I'll definitely be returning and have told several people to check it out. Really delicious. read more

Corrado is an Italian family oriented restaurant. The restaurant is nice Iside, with a nice patio. The service is inconsistent. You might be ignored when you get in and you standing with the waitress crossing you in front with plates, but having great service at the table. The food is good but not spectacular. Today is the last time our family will dine at Corrado's. As business owners ourselves, we know that the customer is always right and senior clients should always be treated with the utmost respect. After years of our large family regularly dining at Corrado's (1-2 times per month), we were personally mistreated by the owner this evening. 1. Refused a reservation for 5pm for a special event for our group of 10 because it was "pasta night" - (fine, 5pm is not busy) 2. Upon arrival we were refused a table because our entire party had not arrived although the restaurant was literally empty 3. My 4 parents and in-laws aged 65-76 (one who recently had hip surgery) were instructed to wait at the bar instead of being seated at a table 4. When my parents voiced their displeasure at sitting at the bar, they were told to wait outside or leave. Rude and disrespectful. Poor customer service. read more

I've only had the pizza here, but it's reasonably authentic and definitely worth a stop if you're in Brooklin. Pizza in the GTA is typically disappointing, and I'm always happy to find a decent spot. Add in a nice patio overlooking the village green, and this is a great find. read more

I will not go back. Corrado's is like a below average, 90s "Italian" diner where the owners are obviously trying to save money at every possible chance. Ok food, mediocre service, very cheap on the details and terribly slow food. The two of us sat upstairs. My caesar came with about 3 ice cubes in it and seemed like tomato juice instead of clamato. Our calamari appetizer was stringy and tasted the way bad fish smells; we are both seafood lovers and barely ate half. The server was nice enough, but they seem to just do the 'ol "what can I get for you?" and that's about it. The same side plate you use for your oil and vinegar for dipping bread is the one you are evidently stuck with for the night. Laminated menus, pre-packaged individual butter... I felt like I was sitting at a Denny's table. The menu options are the cheat-Italian options; do not expect anything fresh or authentic. Our pizzas took OVER AN HOUR to arrive (that's counting from after we ate our appetizer, not even from when we ordered it). This is not an exaggeration. We were about to cancel our order, pay for our drinks and appy and leave when our soggy, greasy pizza finally came. When the whole restaurant is busy, long waits are understandable. However, 3 different tables around us had arrived after us, eaten their dinner, and left!!!!! Kindly, they ended up "taking care" of our appetizers for us, but we were laughing as we walked to our car about what a horrible date night choice this was. read more

Great restaurant with the best waitress Sue. She was so quick at assessing our tables needs whether it was drinks or the kids dropping crayons she was quick to pick them up. They have wonderful fresh warm Ciabatta bread. The food was great even the toddlers enjoyed their dinner. Cost was less then Applebees for 6 adults 2 kids. Definitly the better value for your dollar. BEWARE! BEWARE!......We arranged a birthday luncheon at Carrado's Restaurant because we usually enjoy the food and the waitress's are usually very nice. This time we had a group of 12 people celebrating 2 birthdays so we decided to bring a birthday cake. Before we could even sit down, a waitress comes over to inform us that they will be charging us 1.95 per person to cut OUR cake.....after we informed the waitress that we don't need them to serve the cake she told us that the restaurants policy was to charge the additional fee even if we didn't need them to serve us our own cake. We asked to speak to a manager but there was none working...supposedly. We then asked the waitress to call the manager and have her call us right away. After 15 minutes of the manager yelling and non stop talking so I couldn't speak, she told us that if we didn't want to pay the additional cost, then we should take it off the waitress's tip. When we made our reservation, we were not told about any additional fees so we ended up having to look for another restaurant at prime lunch hour for 12 people. I manager was rude, insulting, and very un-proffesional. When I threatened to just not pay the additional fee, she told me that we would not enjoy our meals so I took that to mean that she was going to call her kitchen staff and either spit in our food or contaminate it so we decided to leave. I will not recommend this restaurant even though the food was usually good, the management has no clue how to treat customers and should not be working in customer service. If I was her boss, she would have been fired the next day. read more

I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE. I took a group of 28 people for birthday dinner and because they would not take reservations on a Saturday night, we arrived at 4:30 ensuring it would be quiet enough to seat us. When we started to arrive, we asked to be seated and let them know it was a birthday party and we had 28 people. I was VERY RUDELY told by a waitress that "Not until all 28 people arrive, will we sit you" I let them know that at this time there was close to 20 of the guests (who were waiting in the parking lot after being told the same thing). THE PLACE WAS EMPTY. I asked to speak to the Manager who re-iterated the same thing, they would not seat us until all 28 people had arrived. I explained that the party was waiting in the parking lot, at this point 23 people had arrived. They told us we could wait in the lounge area (which was too small to accomodate all of us) but that under no circumstances were they seating us until all 28 had arrived. No one explained politely about policies, apologized about inconvenience. After 25 minutes of waiting, and now our numbers were at 25 people (some out of town people ran into car trouble along way) some of the guests went to speak to Manager again. WOULD NOT SIT US. We made the decision to leave and go elsewhere. The waitresses and Manager were condescending and rude. Upon leaving they said "You're leaving?" and when we said yes because of how we have been treated, we also mentioned to Manager that he just lost a bill of over $1000, he put his hands in air and said "Oh well". You can bet I am telling everyone I know on Twitter and Facebook, and so are the other people who were with me that night. Absolutely appalled by the service. read more

I am so happy that I found this place! The customer service is excellent, and I didn't have to wait long for my food as well. At corrado's I didn't feel like I was forgotten after I was given the table. Don't get me wrong, the place was busy even with the snowstorm, but even then they made sure that my bf and I were taken care of. I ordered Alfredo and my bf ordered the egg plant parmesan and we were both so impressed with the quality of food and service they provided. Corrados is the best restaurant in Brooklin, and surely one of the best in the Durham region. The ambient is classy but not very formal. Service is great (the owner is always watching, which is good) and the food is very honest italian food. Pasta is not overcooked, sauces are tasty and the meats well cooked. The pizza is also awesome! The cheeses they use are delicious and the crust is very thin... Ah, and they have belgium draft beer!!! Great place, thats why is almost always full for dinner, even on weekdays. read more

This is the last time we will eat at Corrado's! We have been dining here since they opened but wow, the last couple times we have ordered take out, we have been so disappointed!! Their serving sizes have drastically reduced! The calamari is always dried out and half of what we used to get! I just ordered the braised ribs and substituted the fries for mashed potatoes (by the way this meal costs $24 WITH fries)!!!!!!! It looks as if they scraped the bottom of the pot of mashed potatoes, added a tiny piece of meat - I mean where's the beef? Then to top it off added ONE uncooked piece of broccoli and a couple carrots - I can't believe I paid $24 for this! What a bloody waste of money! Corrado's, what happened to you?? I will gladly travel down to Teddy's in Oshawa where the portions are huge (we always have left overs for the next day) and the prices are half of what Corrado's charges! read more

The restaurant itself is pretty eye pleasing, especially from the upstairs portion. Waitresses were friendly but couldn't seem to get simple drink orders right (asked for water with lemon and while she got it for the other person forgot mine...there were only 4 people at the table). They served bread to start things off, but it was cold. One of our dishes came cold too and had to be sent back. We all ordered pasta and meat dishes and they were quite good (after they reheated the one dish) and reasonably priced. The waitresses did pay attention to the tables and promptly cleared away finished plates as well as refreshed water glasses quickly. I think the meat plates were hearty, but if you are ordering pasta be sure to order a salad or starter - as the portions were small. read more

My husband and I visited Corrado's last Saturday night. It was busy but the staff was pleasant. I agree with Courtney B...it was apparent the place is a bit confused about it's identity. Is it a fine dining restaurant or a sports bar? With the high ceilings the sound travels and the place is very loud when busy. My husband had the veal parmigiana and I had the Arrabiata. The veal was a bit tough and both pastas were mediocre. Mine had maybe half a sausage in it and the spice was very mild. And the buns although yummy were cold. That night and the next day both of our stomachs were upset with a mild case of the trots. Even without the stomach upset we wouldn't go back. The food was just okay and the place was too noisy. And twice I heard how the prices are so great. Anywhere else you'd pay $30 for the same items as here, is what I overheard the host say. I'm originally from Toronto and still go to my favorite pasta place (Queen's Pasta) but wanted to try someplace local. I have never been anywhere that charges $30 for a pasta dish. Pizza and pastas are great, and the mid-week specials (kids eat free, wing night, etc.) are a true bargain. The atmosphere is very nice, and staff are well trained and friendly. What started as a place to go for an occasional night out has become our go-to, because the value cannot be beat. Typical bill for our family of 5, including a glass of wine and a beer is always under $70. While the menu has been the same for some time, the nightly features that the chefs prepare are always fresh and add to the selection. Definitely worth the visit! read more

We decided to order take out. This was a mistake. Food was prepared on time however the standards were horrible. The fettuccine was not mixed and there was minimal sauce and very watery The gnocchi had too much garlic and even my five year old son would not eat the pizza which the cheese was not even melt on it. I have to say this is probably considered our "go to" local restaurant. We generally have a good experience and good value for your money. Keith (the manager) is friendly, remembers a face and often shakes my hand and thanks us for returning. I think that goes a long way in our local small market.
