Cute wine bar in West Allis. There's plenty of street parking and they have a back patio that is open during the nicer months. However, it was still a little chilly when we stopped by so we hung out in the main area. Nice vibes - cute decor, music and lighting. They have different menus in person compared to online, but it was comparable. The staff were friendly and stopped by often checking in if we needed anything and refilling water. They also let us split checks which was great. Prices were what I'd expect but might be worth it to split a bottle than having a few glasses. Heard the martini was kind of basic - maybe stick to the wine. Would stop back but would probably stop in sooner if they offer weekday happy hour or something. read more

We spent the loveliest night at Corvina wine Company last night. From the moment you walk in to this beautiful, cozy, eclectic, wine bar, you were made to feel at home. From the wines, to the food, everything was perfection. The staff couldn't have been more attentive, or could not have been lovelier. You could do a blind tasting with reds, or pick your own flights of wine. Then, when you find something you love, you can order a glass or a bottle. We cannot wait to go back. It was one of the best experiences I've had in a long time,and my friends would concur. We loved it so much, we can't wait to go back in the summer as well when the patio is open. Corvina is a great little wine bar gem! The ambience is perfectly cozy and intimate, almost like you're hanging out in someone's house (in a good way haha). The best is coming on a warm summer night and sitting on their charming patio, with the string lights strung above and sipping on delectable wine. Or even during the winter and sitting in the warm, dimly lit interior and sitting by the window, catching up with friends. Now I am nowhere near being a wine expert, but I know the owners are sommeliers, so I trust the menu is comprised of delicious wines. I've never been disappointed. Great spot, so great I honestly forgot to take pictures. Had a lovely time here. If you're looking for a small and intimate setting to experience some delicious wine this is a great spot. You might even encounter some live music while you're there. Very cozy and with very affordable cheese and meets to accompany your wine tasting. Id suggest coming here on a date night, solo date or with some friends. Only downside was we checked into Yelp and had a coupon from Yelp that wasn't honored by the business. Which was a bummer. Wine Stallis Wow, I'm an avid Yelper yet I've never come across Corvina. I received a Groupon for my birthday last year for a wine tasting here. I'm no wine connoisseur but am always open to trying new things so this sounded like a great date night. I had emailed ahead of time to check on availablility a few weeks back and was told they were full. I did find it hard to understand how a place in West Allis could be booked, but was able to get in on a Wednesday. It's a super nice looking building right off Lincoln with ample street parking. Upon walking in I was totally shocked at how cozy and PACKED the place was. Definitely a hidden gem. We took a seat at the bar and I told the person that we were there for the Groupon deal. He advised that we get from some pre-selected offerings and gave us a little background on each. None of the selections really wow'd me, but we tried two more glasses off the menu after we tried our samples. Their pours were definitely generous and reasonably priced. I would have liked a little more interaction with the staff but given how busy they were, I understand. I wouldn't be in a hurry to go back because wine's just not my thing, but if someone asked me for a good date spot this would be on my list. read more

Corvina appears to be a well kept West Allis wonder because they've been open for 4 years and only have 6 reviews. I'd never heard of the place but my sister assured me I'd dig it. Well.....I have to tell you that I was really, really impressed. The interior is small, cozy and elegant - there are nice seating groupings, a small bar and even a bit of retail space. They specialize in wine (obviously) but there is a good beer list with interesting and unusual things (craft beer from Italy) plus craft cocktails. On that last front, why not sit at the bar and watch their magic machine thing turn a giant block of ice into a perfect sphere for your beverage? My husband had a few of their drinks - they're well made with great ingredients like good liquor and imported bitters and syrups. No corners are cut here. On the wine front, there's a nice sized "by the glass" list with interesting options from all over the world, including lesser known regions in places like Hungary and Slovenia. Prices are reasonable (most glasses $7-9) and pours are strong. I loved my French Loire Valley Sauv Blanc for sure, and was able to try a red Gamay varietal that wasn't Beaujolais. The owners are brothers and are really nice guys who know their wine and drinks. I had to ask "why open in Stallis?" (No offense but the area isn't really known for a high concentration of oenophiles) Well, the building has been family owned for a century and started life as a great grandfathers Italian deli. So it's nice to see the tradition of deliciousness being passed on. I really didn't expect to fall in love with a wine bar in West Allis, but here we are. Had an orange wine again; it's always a treat. The only thing different was there were more guests than when we were regulars there. I've lived in Stallis for a couple of years, and while it's a wonderful place to live, I find it lacking when it comes to classy drinking. Plenty of dive bars, corner bars, neighborhood bars, etc. but not many places I'd want to go out on date night. I tried Corvina a couple of weeks ago, and I'm so glad I did. It's an absolutely charming little place, with a great selection of wine -- and the menu is so helpful in making a decision, with great descriptions of everything. As someone who doesn't know wine inside and out but still loves to drink it, I appreciate this so much. They also have a selection of great liquor. I tried a whiskey I'd never had before, neat, and was blown away. As much as I like drinking Maker's or Bulleit most of the time, I like to mix it up. It's nice to be able to try a serving of a really fancy whiskey without having to invest in a whole bottle. There's nothing else like it in the neighborhood. I'd love to see more places like this open in my neighborhood; as much as I like driving to Bayview or the east side for a night out, it's much nicer to have something awesome I can walk to. I intend to return frequently this summer, to enjoy the patio they're working on. read more

Myself and a couple friends live nearby and decided to check it out. I own wine bars in Florida and only sell natural wines. Locating this outside of my personal wine bars is sometimes frustrating and impossible. Here and there you can find a bottle of organic wine that the clerks don't know. Well, let me tell you, this place, though small, has hand chosen bottles of natural, organic and biodynamic wines, right here in West Allis. What was very impressive was the knowledge the tender had about organic/biodynamics. He knew all about the wines on his shelf as well as some key figures in the dirty wine movement. We talked candidly about my favorite vineyards and producers and the gent followed along and knew what he was talking about. Very refreshing to have someone in the know in such a backwards industry. The USA generally doesn't treat wine well, we are undereducated but this place gives me hope. I believe the tender's name was Joe, he was a very handsome fellow with a nice beard. Though we only came in to purchase a bottle he patiently took his time with us and helped us choose a great bottle. They have some really fabulous bottles that aren't available everywhere. I am not a fan of California wines and don't generally buy into California organics (because the soils have been pumped with round up and pesticides for so many years its impossible now to grow a vine sans chemicals) but Joe (I cannot remember his name but I think it was Joe) explained a different region and how they are doing things right and I was impressed. This place is not to be missed if you are in the area. Natural wines can seem daunting and confusing. However, with the affordable prices and the knowledgeable, understanding staff I would be happy and confident to try any bottle they would suggest. This region needs more places like Corvina, keep up the good work! I'll be back! The only small issue I had was about half the bottles displayed for purchase didn't have pricetags. Such a hidden gem. There's no way I would have ever stopped in here without my fellow Yelpers' help. It doesn't look like much from the street but it a super cozy spot. They have a wide variety of wines to try and if that isn't your speed, you can get a cocktail. The listed hours of business end at 10pm but I asked our server about that and people usually stay later if they want. Follow them on Facebook so you can attend their numerous special events. Neat place! The owners/operators really know their wines and are very friendly. Nice ambiance and cool history behind the business. Anyway- a nice touch of class in West Allis. I will definitely be going there again, even though I don't live in the area. My only suggestion would be to have more comfortable seating to allow for a more enjoyable experience. My friend and I have been wanting to try this place for a while since it had really good reviews. Also, there aren't many wine bars so we finally gave it a shot. We walked in and there were a few people in there. No one greeted us or said anything so we kinda stood there until some guy, who was leaving, said we could sit wherever we wanted. The place isn't that big so we took the corner spot since it would probably be the most private. There is light music playing but it's really quiet in there so it makes you feel like you have to talk very quietly. Once we sat down, it took about 10 minutes before the bartender/server came and gave us a menu. We said it was our first time so she recommended a flight and went through some options, then said she'd come back. We waited for another 10-15 minutes before she came back and took our order. Then waited again for another 5-10 minutes for our flight. The wine was fine. Prices were ok, slightly high for what it was but fine. I wouldn't recommend going here. They weren't very inviting or friendly. Seems like you have to be a "regular" to get good service or be acknowledged. Save your time and money and go to Vino instead. read more

There is a reason why Corvina unanimously gets 5 stars. There is more than one. The sad part: there are only 3 other reviews. There should be 300 reviews proclaiming their greatness. Corvina is so deserving of major praise. The location is quaint. The decor is lovely and inviting. The wine selections are superb. You almost feel transported from this cozy corner in West Allis to an Italian enoteca filled with sunshine, airy seating, flowing vino and mingled conversation. There is a history here. 4 generations of LaSusa's have owned and operated businesses at this address, from Italian deli to its current operation as a wine shop and tasting room. You can still see some of its original hardware and handiwork throughout the space. The history of the building lends itself to the feel of the space. It exudes the feeling of homey warmth. I was as comfortable reading and sipping solo as I was with a group of 5 other imbibers. After enjoying a Teneto quartino (a miniature carafe pouring about a glass and a half), I knew that I had to share this place with many others. I want to tell everyone about this tasting room, shop and event space. You can find a spot in a window and watch the world go by as you drink by the glass or bottle. To help absorb the libations, which also includes scotches, whiskies, ports, rum and gin, you can order a cheese board. With the board, you'll receive a nice selection of 3 cheeses, two meats and crackers. Each item was perfectly portioned and the right amount to serve 6 people. I highly recommend indulging in one of their tasting flight specials as well. I went with the sparkling flight on my last visit, and every single glass offered something unique and delicious. The proprietors--Frank & Joe--have a nose and a palette for liquid luxury and it translates well in their shop and menu variety. With luxury comes some steeper prices, but not everything will break the bank. There is a nice selection that runs the pricing gamut, so you can choose what works and tastes best for and to you. Corvina is the type of place to try before dinner or after an early meal. It has a way of introducing serenity into your day and cementing it for the remainder of it. I would certainly like to prolong the feeling I took away from my time there. That feeling is what will have me returning time and time again. I have visited here twice and enjoyed myself each time. Our first visit was a lovely evening and we were able to grab a table outside. There was a musical duo playing and the patio itself was quite nice. The second visit was a bit rainy so we made do with inside seating. It was a little crowded but still a very good time. The wine and drinks are reasonably priced and there is something for everyone. The meat and cheese tray was excellent and also worth the price. Corvina is well worth the visit. read more

I purchased a groupon for a wine tasting. This is a quaint place. It was a weeknight so it was less busy, and quiet, and a nice change of pace from busy bars, restaurants. Frank was very knowledgeable and a great host. The wine was good as well. Only thing i would change is that the 3 wines are pre chosen for the tasting. Thankfully, i enjoy reds and whites. It would be nice if we could choose our wines. I would return to try the reds, as the tasting was whites. They also have spirits, beer as well for the non wine lovers. A rather large patio in back i look forward to sitting at next visit. I recommend this place! read more

If West Allis was full of places like this, people would be cramming up Hawley Road in a rush to get here. My first question, like everyone else's, was "why is this place here". Then you find out that the building has been in the family for three generations and that the current proprietors (Joe and Frank) are brothers representing the next generation. These guys really know what they are doing. The menu is a well chosen list of regional (mostly European) varietals and a handful of classic cocktails with modern twists. There are several wine flight options to hold your interest, but I'm just fascinated by the Ice press device. If you don't know what I mean, just order an Old Fashioned and you'll understand. Next time you're looking for a little romantic spot for a nice glass of wine and you wish to avoid the hipster crowd or the hassells of downtown parking, swing by Corvina. It's just another one of those unexpected places that'll change your opinion of what you think West Allis is. read more

Hidden gem!!! We have driven by this establishment often but didn't notice it until we drove by in the evening. My boyfriend noticed the warm lights from inside and the strung Italian lights, he said to me that it looked like a nice romantic place. I am so glad we turned the car around and stopped in. The place seemed magical to me, and the knowledge that the bartenders had of wines impressed me. One of the owners was also behind the bar and we enjoyed learning of the buildings family history. It was just a beautiful place! I'm not a wine person, so I ordered their old fashion. It was amazing! It was made with apple bitters and had a touch of cinnamon. We had very enjoyable conversations with those at the bar, but they have cozy seating areas if you wanted it to be truly romantic. We are looking forward to stopping in again! read more
