The old story updated. Brought my watch for repair of a loose dial. They fixed that, but the week afterward, the watch minute and hour hands froze up a couple times. I returned the watch and they observed the watch for a few days and the problem did not occur, so the watch was returned to me without anything done. The watch hands froze up again twice this week and again I returned to the Southampton store for the same problem. The store people told me they were going to watch the watch to see if there was a problem. I have photos of the frozen watch hands but that was not enough to convince them! Then they said they would send it out again and get me an estimate for the repair, at my cost!! I have always had this watch repaired at Southampton's London Jewelers without any quality issues, but at the time I sought out help from Corwin's, my "go to" place was closed. One star for Corwin for terrible customer service, and waste of my time over multiple trips there. They claim the intervention to fix the dial had nothing at all to do with the hands freezing the week after their repair man fiddled with the piece. I simply to not accept this failure to make things right and will never use nor recommend doing business with Corwin again. One hour later addendum: Corwin messaged me to let me know that my initial payment of $85 is going to be refunded to me. Note that I was repeatedly clear about the watch intermittently stopped and gets going when I reset the hands. At no time did Corwin tell me that they would pay for the added repair costs. I did get quite angry with the staff due to the frustration over how my concerns were addressed, and I apologize. Update: Corwin's did refund me and I put up with the watch that continued to repeatedly stop. I brought it today September 25, 2025, into Southampton's London Jewelers for that same problem. Their expert took it and opened it up immediately and said the problem was probably from a loose battery not being secured properly by a plate. He explained that he observed the battery to be loose when it was supposed to be held snugly in place. He said the battery was fine and that there was no need to send it out for repair. Not only did I appreciate the friendly and helpful London Jewelers staff, the location has incredibly delicious quality chocolate cookies and other treats (free) while you wait. Finally, the watch was returned to my wrist with the time reset and I was wished well and WAS NOT CHARGED. Now that is perfect customer service! Travis took an antique ring with a beautiful stone that had been damaged by another stone cutter and diagnosed exactly what could be done to save the diamond, polish it and cut only the barest minimum to repair the damage. It was a bit of a leap of faith but we are very happy with the outcome. The ring was returned looking like new, with repairs done and the stone returned to pristine shape. We were able to maintain the value of the diamond and repair the damage and I could not be happier with the results. I will definitely use Corwin in the future for any repairs needed as well as new purchases. read more

Bought these two diamond Safire rings " made by Travis himself. These pics depict the quality of theses two rings, notice that each ring is missing a diamond. I have only had these about a year, shouldn't a diamond stand or ring much longer than a year, and I don't wear them to do anything, and I wear them when I go out to dinner and stuff. I guess the quality isn't so good now I have to pay for diamonds to be put back in my rings since, Travis denies everything, but the proof is in the pictures. Very poor quality both rings both. As I have confessed to the Corwins, I had lost nearly all joy in the ring-finding process before I walked into their shop. I am very upset with my experience at Corwin's jewelry store. I brought a Sicura chronograph watch in to have the crystal replaced on 12/29/2017. I walked in to the store with the watch on my wrist(working perfectly and keeping accurate time) and had a great conversation with the manager(Travis). I paid to have the crystal repaired at the time of drop off and he told me I would be contacted when it was ready. I was contacted on 1/19/2018 by Allison from Corwin's to inform me that the watch was ready for pick up. I then received a call a few hours later from Corwin's letting me know that the watch was not working and they would get back to me. When I called back to see what had happened, I was told that I had dropped the watch off non-working. This was not true and I asked to speak to the manager(Travis) who checked my watch and saw it functioning properly. When speaking with the manager, he agreed that the watch was working at time of drop off but did not offer me a solution that didn't involve me paying to have the watch fully serviced. He told me he would check with the person that was repairing my watch to understand what happened but never followed up with me and they did not provide an explanation at time of pick up today on 3/1/2018. My options were basically, pick up your broken watch or pay to fix it. I felt the manager held my watch hostage and gave me no option but to pay and have the watch serviced. I understand that older watches can have issues but I have many old watches and know what it looks like when a watch has issues. This watch functioned perfectly upon drop off and I feel strongly that the jeweler caused the watch to stop working. Additionally, I had to pay for this service with no clear explanation as to what broke with the watch. read more

BEWARE! Travis Corwin from Corwins Jewelers on Main Street in Southampton, N.Y., is NOT TRUSTWORTHY. My experience there went far worse than I ever could have imagined. I brought my 44 year old vintage platinum diamond engagement ring in for repair, only what I received back was not my ring. My platinum setting, with a horizontal half moon cutout design on either side of the diamond that had a gray patina to it with substance and weight, changed to a small, thin and lightweight 14K white gold replica setting. My round diamond changed from a .96 carat (have written appraisal) to a .78 carat. A family member of mine, of whom holds a title in this town, knew Travis and thought of him as trustworthy. This family member accompanied me to Corwins Jewelers. The only time in 44 years that my ring was ever away from my eyes, is when I unfortunately entrusted Travis to handle the repair. I informed Travis that I only wanted the one prong repaired on my platinum setting but he kept insisting that the whole head (jewelers' term for where the diamond sits) needed to be replaced. I told Travis if the whole head had to be replaced, that I wanted the original head back. When asked, Travis told us that he was not capable of doing the repair himself and that my ring would have to go to his jeweler in Kentucky but wouldn't give the name. He was charging me an exorbitant fee of $488.81, this was of course with a discount due to knowing my family member, (believe me, there was no discount, nor was I looking for one). On October 27, 2017, as per Travis, my platinum setting (which he agreed and was amazed at the age) and diamond was sealed up ready to be insured and sent by Fed-ex overnight. I received a call by an employee from Corwins Jewelers that my ring was ready. I was disappointed to learn that the head was replaced and asked where my original head was. The employee didn't know and would have to ask Travis. I waited and waited for a call from Travis which never came. My daughter and I went to Corwins. When I asked, Travis said that he was too busy to call me back. He said that my ring never went to Kentucky. Travis said that he had done the repair himself and that now he wishes that he didn't. He said Kentucky was too busy to handle the repair and he wanted me to have my ring back for Thanksgiving. He said that the head was so old it just fell apart and it was just gone. He said that he was being extra careful too, due to knowing my family member. HE BROUGHT up the 14K white gold. I knew immediately that it was not my ring and stated so. Travis had absolutely no reaction or response. I left the store in tears. It was all a lie. Apparently, Travis never dreamed that the business in Kentucky would be found out. Travis didn't do the repair. Jewel Craft (no fault on their part) in Kentucky did, only it was on the 14K white gold replica setting and the .78 diamond. Why would one lie? If I had received my original head back, I would have seen the size difference compared to the head that was on the 14K white gold setting. Travis had Jewel Craft size the ring, although he never sized my finger. It does not even fit past my knuckle. Although Travis had told me that my ring was sealed up on October 27th, during the investigation, a copy of a work order that was being sent to Jewel Craft, dated November 1st, shows that my ring was unsealed.The photo appears to be my setting but states 14K white gold and the diamond is hidden under a piece of paper with .78 written on it. UNSEALED?! Travis has lied to all involved in this investigation. His answer to all of his unprofessional incompetence is that they learned a lot from this. He uses excuses such as, he just took over the business, he is just learning, he is still learning and it must have been a miscommunication. I trusted and didn't realize that he had put incorrect information on the receipt (wrong diamond size and never put my platinum setting on the receipt). His answer is that he gave me back what was on the receipt. He grew up in this business and was allowed to take over the business, yet he is not even capable of giving a correct receipt for personal property taken in? My engagement ring was given to me at the very young age of 16 by my husband of now 43 years. I wanted to pass my ring down to my generations. Travis was aware of my health and as my husband and I left Corwins that last day in tears, the heartless wonder said, while my tears were being wiped away by my husband, nothing is worth getting that upset about. Ironically, there is a plaque displaying Travis' name in Corwins from a fire department. I can not understand why someone like that would want to join to become a member. These people join because they have a desire to help people, not destroy them. I would not and did not pay for a ring that was not mine. I hope that Travis doesn't have the nerve to respond to this review. He has already caused enough damage. read more

$50 dollars to polish two simple gold wedding bands....couldn't even manage to buff out all the scratches, and the clueless woman at the counter just stands there saying "oh no they look better than new, like the new ones in the cabinet over there" useless for such a simple task. They seem to handle it all, honestly and thoroughly, from redesigning an expensive necklace so that it would hang correctly to selling new and old jewelry at realistic prices to the mundane changing of watch batteries.
