The front desk staff act like they don't even see you when you've just been standing in front of the door for several mins..... until you physically call them to open the door. You know they see you too, it's all glass doors in this plaza. Not to mention rude attitudes by these girls working the front. They have a "no-show" $50 fee, which is also stupid. They also constantly make mistakes on appointments. Dr. Sehee (Jenny) Kim talks in a very condescending way, constantly judges on your teeth and says unnecessary crap, which makes you feel very uncomfortable. She's always trying to nit pick at nothing to make more money and makes you come back over and over, completely wasting your time. She is so money hungry and talks to her staff in a rude way, even in front of patients. Talking about "that's 4 of my lunches" to the assistant as she makes a mistake. You're a dentist, be professional.... that's the bottom line. As soon as you sit down, the hygienist brings you a paper to sign forcing you to get flouride which is $75 out of your pocket. The staff is kind, patient and make my mom feel welcome and cared for. They are careful to include me in the communication process, so I can make it easier on my mom. Dr. Parikh invested the time to come up with a treatment plan that aligned with my mom's insurance, to minimize her out of pocket costs while also minimizing disruption to her ability to easily use her teeth as these treatments happen over time. Both he and his wife (the other Dr. Parikh) are kind, caring providers, and it's clear their leadership in the practice carries over to everyone else, because everyone working there exhibits the same, thoughtful bedside manner. I'm glad I did. Walk In: When I first walked in I enjoyed what I saw and heard. What I saw was a nice comfortable place that set me at ease a little. What I heard was nothing, as I was the only one in there for my appointment. Mind you, I'm not a fan of dentists!! I've had so many things go bad with me during appointments and procedures. Examination: I already told the woman who was doing my examination, "Look! I'm not very fond of dentists too much!" I explained why and she understood. She said I was in good hands, I said ok. I told her if you even think you may hurt me by probing me somewhere, let me know first before you do! She said I got you. Probing starting going on and she let me know each time before it happened. Yet, I wasn't in any pain like I would be at other places. On a scale of 100%, I probably felt 20% pain during my examination. If I was anywhere else, I would have felt 85% pain! So now I'm winning. After the examination a treatment plan was discussed as well as appointment made for the treatment. Overall: As I do not care for dentists too much, I feel comfortable with these guys. They took photos of my teeth and showed them to me on a large monitor to point out where I had tooth decay. Since there were so many "cavities" they divided the work into two appointments. The first appointment was very uncomfortable, the dentist seemed rushed and didn't want me to swallow as often as I needed to. I was sick with a sinus infection and tried to cancel the 2nd appointment on the Friday before a Tuesday appointment over a holiday weekend. They were very aggressive about wanting to charge me for the appointment. I decided to get a second opinion and actually got two other dentists to look at the photos and x-rays and they both said the so-called cavities were only stains and natural wear on the teeth and did not need treatment. Sadly, I had already paid for over $2K in unneeded and uncomfortable dental work.

I got sick and rescheduled an appointment--something most offices understand. But not here. I then noticed I was being overcharged for a crown procedure and decided to cancel altogether. That's when things got ugly. I was hit with a $4,200 "cancellation fee" for a service I never received. Yes, $4,200. And then they sent that outrageous bill to collections, deliberately damaging my credit. All for being sick and standing up for myself. At first, Dr. Curington comes across as warm and friendly, but that quickly fades if you question a service or refuse a recommendation. Based on what I've read in other reviews since, I'm not the only one who's experienced this kind of treatment. In my opinion, her concern is not your care--it's your money. Her staff reflects this as well, using pressure tactics and intimidation that no patient should ever deal with. After that nightmare, Magnolia Ridge Dental stepped up in a big way.
