The Good: The end result of the cleaning service is very good, but not the best. The Bad & The Ugly: After a cleaning service, a dentist typically comes in and evaluates or inspects the teeth. At least, this has always been my experience elsewhere. At this place, the dentist marches in with dollar signs in his eyes as though you walked in with 15 missing teeth, an overbite, and a misaligned jaw. It is clear that the objective is not to give you a clean bill of good oral health, rather, it is to tell you a host of services that you "need" that they are all to happy to go ahead and jot down in your file and get you set up with an appointment ASAP! I have a reasonable tolerance for nonsense, having dealt with the public in my career, so while the salesman, er, dentist was rattling off procedures, I just said "Hmm, hmmm." After he left the room, I was more than ready to go. But wait! The hygienist asked me to wait a moment while she left the room. That "moment" turned into what felt like 15 minutes of nothing, so my patience did expire, and I made it clear that I needed to go and asked WHAT IS THE WAIT FOR? That's when she owned up and said that they were pricing out all of the procedures and were creating a price list. Why the secrecy? Why couldn't the wait request have included an advisement that they were working on that? I'll tell you why, it's because they knew that there was NO way in you-know-where that I was going for that schtick! I had been here twice, and BOTH times, it was the same song and dance. Continue to wait? Nope! I left! Things may have been different if I have said, "hey Doc, I don't like xyz about my teeth, can you make a recommdation?" But, to just get a cleaning and having an it-ain't-broke-but-we-can-fix-it experience is beyond the pale for a medical facility! That's just like going to the service department at a car dealership. You go in for a simple oil change, but they come back to you with a price list for an urgent engine replacement and a new radiator. Smarmy, grimy, slimy to say the LEAST! If this practice is hard up for cash, how about getting out in these streets and offering services to those who actually need them? I see jacked-up mouths literally everywhere I go. Literally. Stop trying to make money by the hard upselling. They will see me again on the 12th of NEVER! I do NOT recommend for standard dental care services!

While the administrative staff was nice and attentive, my clinical experience with Dr. Patel felt more like a high-pressure "timeshare sales pitch" than a medical consultation. The first red flag happened when Dr. Patel recommended a specific cleaning that included a rinse/spray. When I told him I just wanted the basic cleaning covered by my insurance, he dismissed my preference. He stated he didn't know anything about my insurance coverage and refused to perform the basic cleaning. I later learned that his recommended cleaning came with an out-of-pocket expense of at least $100. The second red flag came when he displayed my X-rays on the big screen. He went over every tooth and recommended replacing old silver fillings with cosmetic white ones, along with several other costly procedures. When I questioned his recommendations, he became condescending and repeatedly asked if he had explained it well and if I even understood him.At that point, it became clear that I was dealing with a money-hungry dentist rather than a trustworthy provider whose primary focus is patient care. They took photos of my teeth and showed them to me on a large monitor to point out where I had tooth decay. Since there were so many "cavities" they divided the work into two appointments. The first appointment was very uncomfortable, the dentist seemed rushed and didn't want me to swallow as often as I needed to. I was sick with a sinus infection and tried to cancel the 2nd appointment on the Friday before a Tuesday appointment over a holiday weekend. They were very aggressive about wanting to charge me for the appointment. I decided to get a second opinion and actually got two other dentists to look at the photos and x-rays and they both said the so-called cavities were only stains and natural wear on the teeth and did not need treatment. On 1/2/26 the visit for my husband and I was nothing short of unprofessional by Ms. D at the front desk. We did not realize my husband's insurance had changed to Anthem from UHC at the time he had already had the fillings. Ms. D went back and forth with me about she needed the member ID number and the provider number. At the time, she was not going to allow my husband to get his cleaning. I asked her if she would allow him to go back, while I get with the insurance company to get the information. AT first she didn't. My husband got upset and walked out. I was trying to tell her whatever the cost would be it would be paid, just let him go back while he is off from work now to get the services. I provided her with a telephone number I was given verbally over the phone with Anthem. Ms. D calls the number and couldn't reach anyone. She proceeds to say "the policy is we don't call more than two times". I told her don't call anymore, I am chatting with the company and will get her the information. I provided her with the ID number. She insist I give her a provider number to call. As we all know, she could have just went to check online just as another provider did over the phone today with the member number and his date of birth to see he was active. She didn't want to do it. She didn't like that I spoke up for myself and my husband to her, and didn't mind correcting her when she was wrong. I ended up chatting with an Anthem person, and they provided me with the Provider Number and the Member ID. Gave to her, and which she still did NOT contact. Let's guess. the policy. Yeah ok. She first charged $175, then she charged another $625.00 once someone showed her she didn't charge the correct amount. I provided her with my card to charge it. I asked her okay, so when you all file the claim will yall reimbursement me. She told me I needed to get reimbursed by the insurance company. As I was about to leave, Anthem rep told me once the claim is filed, they will send payment directly to the provider and I would have to coordinate reimbursement from provider. I went back inside and read her what Anthem rep stated. Ms. D then says well yeah that's how it would work. She says they have to let the outsourced person know to reimburse. I called back to speak with an office manager. Ms. D says they don't have an office manager. I asked for the owner to give me a call. Ms D replied "she will give you a call". I said well earlier you told me a he. In addition, Ms. D blatantly refused to provide the discounted rate like she added on the $10,000.00 original rate of a future treatment plan. I asked her about the discount being added on today's visit since it was self pay and she goes "since things went the way it did (or something similar to that)....." then mumbled something else. Ms. D is very unprofessional, condescending, and vindictive. I have taken the extra step in researching Dr. Marlon Brown's telephone number, and left a message. As of today, no phone call so we will not be going back there. It is apparent by other YELP reviews, the front desk/office staff is very unprofessional and I'm Not the only one who has such negative encounters with Ms. D. There needs to be an office manager who is not related to or personally know Ms. D. I am requesting my husband's claim be filed, and make sure yall office reimburse me for whatever the insurance doesn't pay. I have already asked Athem the covered percentage for the codes D4910 (80%), D0120 (100%), D3120 (80%), D2392 (80%), and D2330 (80%). I am requesting refund of all monies minus what the "contracted" rate no later than February 1, 2025 or I will be filing a grievance with the insurance company.
