You can find me here every other Thursday at 615 for a fillin and pedicure. My past review speaks for itself but here I am again to remind everyone that this is the number one spot in Astoria as I have been coming here since high school; 2001. Very rarely do I have a nail break or get messed up a few days in and as always I walk in and Debbie takes care of me as she would anyone else. The appt was confirmed on their end & I was so excited. I showed up at 5:03 PM rushing so I wasn't "late". The lady welcomed me, knew about the appt and told me to take a seat and wait a few minutes .... She was working on someone else and I was okay with waiting a couple minutes ... 15 minutes later, she asked me to soak my feet in water and was nowhere near done with the other customer .. I was like mhm ok ... after 25 minutes, I couldn't do it anymore. I started to take my feet out of the water and told her I couldn't wait any longer and that I understand things happen but to not take reservations then ... instead of apologizing, she goes "things happen, people take longer, that's how it goes".... I don't think businesses that last run in an unorganized manner ... if you're in the area - beware! Use another nail salon in Astoria! Unless you don't mind aimlessly waiting ..

Proper technique does not require aggressive buffing, and the damage is clearly due to poor prep, not my nail health. I've had regular manicures for years and never experienced this kind of damage. My nails are now taking months to grow out and recover. I would not recommend this place, especially if you care about the long-term health of your natural nails.

I have never given this low of a review but I can't believe how bad of a service I received today…read more First off two things that stuck out: no lotion and no kneck massage while drying which I've had hundreds of manicures and that's protocol, especially if you tip while like I did. The lady who did my nails was straight up RUDE. she didn't ask my preference for anything and went way too deep with the cubicles. She got up at least twice mid manicure to do other things and one of the other ladies came over and started whispering while staring at my nails. I didn't even get a good manicure after going through all of that. The end product is streaky and I could have done a better job myself. Half of my nail looks like it has a second coat and he other half looks like it doesn't. Not to mention it's chipping already, less than 4 hours later. Extremely disappointing. As I read in other reviews, they don't walk you to the dryer or instruct you how to use it they just stop with the top coat and point. I ended up messing up one of my nails trying to figure out how the dryer worked. I listened to the lady giving a pedicure and she seemed to have a relationship with her client, so maybe she does a good job but the lady I had was enough to make me stay away for good. The two services, including a spa treatment with my pedicure, took about an hour and a half. That's basically nothing!!! They were so quick with my nails extensions. However, my pinky toe gel didn't hold up after five days () and two of my extension lifted off a bit and I ended up losing them (but that's my fault; as soon as I see an imperfection with my nails I tend to keep touching the area obsessively lol) They also have a points rewards system which I assume will be convenient on the long run. She is so sweet and asked me about my upcoming wedding, and soon enough we were looking at my engagement pictures and talking about my plans. She also took her time on the manicure, cut every cuticle (wasnt pretty yall) and painted each nail perfectly. Sylvia did my pedicure and also took her time, while making sure she knew my preferences for length and shape. I came in without an appointment twice and I was treated right away. Tonight, it started to get a little busy as I was finsihing up, around 6:45/7pm, so I would suggest making an appointment if you plan to come in the evening.

My only complaint is the quality of the regular polish has been hit and miss at times with early signs of chipping within the week. It's not very posh but the tradeoff is great prices! My thin nails began to burn because she was thinning them down so much so I politely asked her to turn down the drill mode to a more gentle setting. She said okay and continued. When she went over to the other foot, she switched out to use the harsh drill again, so I asked her to switch back to the other one, she snapped at me in a nasty, annoyed way "I know!" And continued to use the harsh setting to remove the gel and thin out my toe nails. Once done, she asked me what gel color I want, and I told her I'm all set. I put on my shoes, with gel residue still in my nails and a terrible "pedicure". I asked her to charge me, paid $30 for the crappiest service and nasty attitude. I should've walked out but that would've been very dramatic lol First and last time trying this place out. You get what you pay for.
