The new owners should be ashamed of themselves. Not only are they highly unprofessional examples including: yelling at workers in front of guests, telling guests "if you don't like it don't come" etc... This hurts writing such a bad review because this has always been one of my favorites and a "go to" at the last minute for dinner. I had been going here for over 40 years. So let's get to what has happened the last couple visits. Went a few months ago with the hubby. horrible service and we always had excellent service. (new staff. not someone we ever had before). Food was bland and not as good as it had been before. Son and I went recently and once again, horrible. It was dinner time and clearly not busy as it had been in the past. Service was good and we were attended to quickly. Son's soup had so much cheese on it that it wasn't enjoyable & it wasn't french onion! I ordered the stuffed mushrooms as I always do and they were not bad flavor but super watery. Son had crab cake sandwhich, on a kaiser roll. Crab cake looked like a frozen patty from a box store. Every crab cake samdwhich i have ever ordered was flaky and fresh and took up more than the roll. this barely fit! no lettuce, tomato, nothing. not even a pickle on a plate! we ordered kasdons fries to share. now, they have always been a splurge for me because they are amazing! Not anymore! the brown gravy was tan and just didn't pack that rich gravy flavor they had before. Top this experience off, we were purely entertained by the mouse running around under a table diagonal from ours. We watched this tiny little thing, run around eating some crumbs that were all over the floor then run back to its hiding spot when someone walked near the table. Eventually no servers came by and we watched the crumb filled mouse run towards the bar. I guess hoping to get a drink from whatever liquids/liquor that was on the floor. We paid and practically ran out of there. I hate to say it since this restaurant has been a staple in my life for years. As hard as it was to get over the new decor, I accepted the change and hoped the younger generations of Ltown would bring their families here. Don't. I came to the Thai restaurant in this shopping plaza many times but was not even aware of Kasdon's. When you enter, a large bar occupies the room along with various televisions. In the room behind the bar is the dining area. This place is definitely the place to hangout and watch any of the Philly teams play a game. My wife and I both had chicken dishes and these were very good and at a reasonable price. The staff was friendly and kept our drinks full. I definitely want to return during a game and root for the Flyers, Phillies, or Eagles. read more

Wow! This was our second trip here with the new owners. We were a party of 4. The other couple ordered individual pizzas and my wife and I ordered a large sausage pizza. After about 45 minutes or so, they brought us complimentary apps, because our pizza was taking so long. The two individual pies came out and were almost gone when the large pizza finally came out. The large pizza was covered with ground beef instead of sausage! When I let the waitress know, she went in the back and then came out and said "they said it's sausage". I said "this sausage looks nothing like the sausage on the individual pizza and I tasted it. It is not sausage". The waitress went in the back and came out and said "the owner said she made it and it's just ground up more than the other pizza"! Apparently they thought we were idiots! I said "I tried the meat. It is hamburger, NOT sausage and we do not want it. We ended up with the prime rib sandwich. First, don't treat customers as idiots! Second, own up to your mistake! Third, the owner or manager should have come out and spoke to us about the issue instead of using the poor waitress as a liar. That's my last time at a place I've been going to for years! read more

New owner(s), a quickie paint job and modern LED lights don't make this formerly Great Place anything like it used to be! The Food might be ordered from their former owner's menu, but that doesn't mean that it's the same food! And their Wonderful and FRIENDLY Service is no longer what it was, either! My Lady, my two Daughters and my Granddaughter were there on Sunday, 8/25/2024, evening. Keep this in mind as you read this; The building was nearly empty! Two tables other than ours were occupied and there were two people sitting at the bar. Here's how it went... Menu's arrived and drink orders given. No silverware on the table, yet. Drinks arrived, but no one got what they ordered. Lots of tasting and switching until we all got what we ordered. "Waitress" came to take our orders. No problems here, but still no silverware. Soups came, including soup spoons, but no crackers! The cheese on top of the soup was melted, but the soups were cold, as if they had sat around too long before they were served. My younger daughter asked the waitress for crackers, and we began to eat our soup without them. After about 5 minutes my Lady got up, went to the kitchen and asked, again, for crackers and silverware. By the time our "Waitress" came back with silverware for THREE of us, our soups were gone. Still NO CRACKERS! We noticed that there was a tray with some silverware near our table, so we had to help ourselves to the silverware we still needed for our meals. My Lady's salad arrived without any dressing. When we finally flagged down our "Waitress" we asked for dressing. (We Still had No Crackers!) Now, the Food...The Crab Bisque-Cold and lacking flavor. French Onion Soup-Warm, too much cheese, but pretty much what I was used to in its flavor. Pizza-Hot, but the tomato sauce was completely different and lacking the flavor we were used to having here. Stuffed Mushrooms-Completely different flavor and not so good. Chicken Bennie-Chicken was overcooked and dry. Hard to cut and harder to chew. Overall Experience? A DISMAL FAILURE! Someone has invested a bunch of money only to ruin what used to be a GREAT FAMILY Restaurant and Tavern. Most of the former Waitresses were GONE and replaced by inexperienced and/or untrained and not-so-friendly people. I made a point of speaking to a woman who I believe was an owner before we departed this once Wonderful Restaurant. I explained what had happened and the fact that the gratuity wasn't even close to what I would normally have left. I suggested that she take my signed receipt and my overly generous tip to start a conversation with the woman who was our "Waitress". Her response was "Meh" and we were offered no assurances that anything would change in the future. I feel like I wasted my time trying to help this person improve their food and lack of service. Kasdons is definitely a popular neighborhood spot. It was pretty crowded for a Wednesday evening. Service was wonderful. It's not only your server who takes care of you but, the whole staff. Haven't had liver with onions and bacon for a while. It was excellent. Pounded thin and very tender, just like my Auntie Anne used to make for me. Delish topped with grilled onions and crisp bacon. Kasdon's Restaurant & Tavern on New Falls Road, Levittown, is one of many such places in this area of Lower Bucks County. It has been around since the 1950's, and maintains the feel of a dark, knotty pine hall, with decent kitchen and fair prices on drinks. There are HDTVs on every wall in the bar and dining room, so it is definitely a sports bar, too. On a weeknight the rectangular bar has several couples sitting around having dinner and drinks. The dining area was lightly populated with a few families in booths or tables. It was both a young and old crowd, but as it seemed to be smoke free, it wasn't conducive to the rowdy bunch often found across the street. The beer on tap is limited to basic American suds, but that is not a problem for the folks here. Yuengling Lager was about as exotic as it got. Still, at a couple of bucks for a pint I wasn't complaining. The same holds for the kitchen offerings. Several pages of standard American fare, including pizza, burgers, sandwiches and a long list of diner-esque dishes. My Patty Melt was decent, but served naked on the plate, without even chips or pickle. At a price shy of $7., I certainly received what I paid for. Kasdon's has been around for a while, and it shows in the décor and long term servers/tenders. It is a relatively safe place for a few drinks, chow and conversation with the people at and within the bar. Families are also welcome. After a few stops at the lanes nearby, where the crowd can be loud and obnoxious (although with better grub), Kasdon's feels to be a safe harbor. read more

I was so disappointed, we were there for my friends birthday. We ordered chicken Caesar salads and the chicken was too chewy which happens when it is under cooked. I didn't eat any of my Salad and my friend ate around her chicken. When the waitress asked how it was I told her. She apologize and gave me the check that had both salads on it. A good business practice would be to take the one salad off the check. I paid but left a message on the check about my disappointment. I would have given them the benefit of an off night as I have always had great food there. But making me pay for something I didn't like or eat speaks to their character. I used to go here as a kid. So when I popped in good ol' Ltown I took a turn back into time. I haven't been to this place since I was 12. I am now 31. The place is EXACTLY the same. The decor is old and they still have TV in the back, lamps with strings over tables. Needs some updating but I guess the nostalgia is good? Anyways, the food was excellent when I was a youth and it did not disappoint once again. I got their French onion soup which was incredible. My wife and I both got cheesesteaks (bacon cheesesteak and buff chick). They were both the best I've had in quite some time and near identical to back in the day. Server was excellent. Can't wait to go back in. You always get a couple funny looks from some silver haired dudes who probably just got off of work though at a steel mill or something. Went in for lunch with my wife. The owner acknowledged us, the waitress was quick as was the kitchen(few other customers were there, due to early hour) The ruben sandwich was open face and large, my wife's crab cake sandwich was even larger(her favorite menu item) we took our time to enjoy our meals the only issue was the waitress was almost constantly at our table. Great food, just wish they would update the place. I feel like I time warp back to the 1970's when I enter the place. It smells like it hasn't been cleaned since then either. Last time I was in there I almost gagged on the smell. Someone probably spilled beer on the nasty rugs and didn't clean it properly. The lights are really low and that is probably a good thing.
