I couldn't pinpoint it at first, but I recognized the taste. It had a nice flavor overall. My only issue was the lack of protein. I only saw one or two small pieces of meat. Thinking back, it was probably chicken gumbo because it wasn't seafood gumbo, but I didn't ask, and the menu only said "gumbo." Overall, the staff were nice and helpful, and the food was good. The charbroiled oysters were still good, but cooking them brought out more of the fishy flavor, which just isn't my personal preference. I also tried the shrimp and grits, and they were easily one of my favorite dishes of the meal. They were rich, creamy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. The crawfish étouffée was just as impressive comforting, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. One thing that really stood out was the service. It's not easy managing a party of 25, especially one ordering over 50 dozen oysters, but the staff handled everything so well. They stayed organized, kept a great attitude throughout the meal, and made sure food and drinks came out as smoothly as possible despite how busy they were.
