A solid seafood boil spot. The service was good and very helpful if you had any questions and a converted restaurant that turned into a hidden gem. The quality of the food was good and if you're ever in the area stop by and give it a try!

Consistently a wonderful, clean, and cute restaurant. This is the place to be for the best seafood boil in town. The staff is attentive and move things along quickly. We've never had a bad, or even mediocre meal here. Pro tip - they had out these amazing guava candies with your bill. If you love them like I do they'll sell you a whoe bag!

We found John Seafood on yelp- definitely a hole in the wall- almost didn't go in due to the outside look- looked tacky- it's clearly a former fast food place that was changed into a restaurant- they did a pretty good job trying to make the inside different- it's definitely a casual vibe which is fun- we were eating late on a sunday night and the clientele was interesting- most were vaping or smoking outside before coming in- perhaps this is just the environment of this town- no idea. The inside feels a little dirty- the bathrooms are old and falling a part and give that dirty vibe. The plates are styrofoam which seems crazy for spending $70 and eating ooff styrofoam- at least it would be nicer if they were paper plates... 5/5 for the food though! The prices are pretty reasonable considering it's seafood. The kids split a catfish platter and it was nice and large- plenty of food for the kiddos. We split the john's special- very flavorful and mild was perfect. it came with a good variety. We really enjoyed the fried okra and the hush puppies which we ordered and are so glad we did! highly recommend both! The service was ok- they were clearly understaffed and did their best so gotta give them grace. The flavors were on point!

Wow, what a lucky find! Just started working in the area and was trying to decide what the Hubby and I wanted for dinner. Read the reviews and decided to try the place out... so glad that we did. It's a small restaurant, and even on a weekday night it was packed, mostly with large groups of families, still we made it just in time to grab a table. There were so many choices on the menu, and I knew I had to try a boil while the Hubby opted for catfish and sides. You know you're in for a treat when they set a "dinner kit" including a bib, gloves and hand wipes before your meal. My boil was shaken at the table and poured out in a spicy, glorious mess. I was in the mood for crab, and it was steamed so well you could use the plastic fork to break the shell for those tiny pesky pieces. One potato was a little undercooked but I wasn't mad at it so I didn't take a star off just for that. The shrimps were large and flavorful. Hubby has eaten catfish his whole life and declared their catfish to be some of the "best he's ever had" which is quite a compliment. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and left very full. Service was fast and friendly, and you just toss everything into the little trashcans set up at every table. We definitely plan to come back!

Food is so so so good here!! The seafood boil here is seasoned so well, definitely one of the best I've had in the Pensacola region. The waiter we had for dinner the day we went was so friendly and sweet!

This is my second time ordering the large seafood platter from John's Seafood, and just like the first time, everything was amazing! The food was fresh, flavorful, and still piping hot even as takeout. You can really tell they care about quality. I'll definitely be returning again!

Food was delicious and not overpriced! Service was excellent. The only drawback was they had plastic silverware, doesn't work well with the seafood boil I got. Other than that is was excellent!

Do not skip out on this place! Wait staff were friendly and extremely attentive. Pricing fair. The seafood- ahhhmazing! We did one of the combo meals and shared. We also got a mixture of sauces on the food- took the flavor to another level. A little messy to eat but worth it!

Went here for the seafood boil--it was amazing: the cajun sauce had the right blend of spice, hot sauce, and just the right amount of butter. Sides and appetizer portions are large and plentiful. Highly recommend this place for the delicious seafood, sides, and very good pricing/value! Service was great, everyone is friendly, would come back again!

Yes yes yes, this place was so good. The shrimp was large and the crab legs were medium size and quite a nice amount of meat in them! Will be back!!!

We even talked to the manager, Nick, because we felt like Ricky deserved to be recognized. Ricky made the whole experience feel comfortable and genuine from the start. He was able to talk with my family in both Spanish and English, which honestly made everyone feel welcomed and included. He's very personable and easy to talk to, and you can tell he enjoys what he does. One thing we really appreciated was how attentive he was without being overbearing. He checked on us at all the right times, made sure everything was good, and never made us feel rushed or interrupted while we were enjoying our meal. He's also really knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations whenever we had questions. We've had Ricky as our server before, and he's honestly one of the reasons we keep coming back. The food is always delicious, but having great service like that makes the experience even better. Fish House is lucky to have someone like Ricky on the team.

Once we were seated, our server Rick was right there. He is pretty funny so ask for Rick on the weekends. He gave us some great ideas and we went with what he suggested. We had the Grits A Ya Ya and the Catfish Meuniere. The grits were probably some of the best we have had. They were creamy, smooth and cheesy all at the same time. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and made that dish rock. The catfish had a pecan crust and the sauce that was over it made it an amazing dish. For dessert, we had an amazing bread pudding and key lime pie. The only this about the desserts that need correcting is the green sauce on the key lime pie. It doesn't do anything for the pie . The manager Dean came over and apologized for the delay in getting our meals and we really appreciated that. He was really nice and made up for our delay in dinner. We will definitely be back and the views help make the dining experience even better.

We ordered the whipped feta, oysters, ceviche, scallops, bison kebab, and lobster roll -- every single dish was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. Reserving a table was super easy, and the drinks were fantastic -- creative, well-balanced, and perfectly complemented the meal. The vibe is great, and the service was excellent. Although this is definitely a preferable location given its adjacency to downtown Pensacola. The drinks were outstanding. Everyone raved about the scallops. I will definitely be re-ordering the crab avocado salad. It was off the charts. The mushrooms and brussels sprouts were amazing. and the Australian ribeye was delicious. My husband felt it was the best steak he's had. I had some fatty pieces so i wasn't as enthused but the good pieces I had were absolutely delicious melt in your mouth. Obviously, we had a dessert for my birthday and that was a sweet treat! peanut butter chocolate dessert. Maybe a torte? I thoroughly enjoyed it and just overall had a great evening here. The booth was so comfortable and the restaurant is appointed to a degree you don't frequently find in this part of the country. It was very tastefully done. The establishment is so nice and the decor is very relaxing. The host greeted us immediately and gave us some nice compliments also. We were escorted to our seats and server Tatum was there waiting. She introduced herself and told us a little about the restaurant and what they specialize in. She told us about the specials and took our drink order. We ordered the savory bread pudding Benedict and the Bonita's lobster roll both came with hand cut Parmesan truffle fries. Let's start with the bread pudding. Wow, isn't your ordinary bread pudding. If you don't like bread pudding, you will love this one! It starts with a special type bread they make and thick cut bacon is baked all through it. Then it's topped with a poached egg with a special hollandaise sauce. Every bite was full of flavor and I hate I ate it so fast. The lobster roll was so tender and buttery. The roll was fresh a little toasty just enough for a little crunch when you bite. The fries, I never had hand cut fries that taste so good. The fresh Parmesan cheese and truffle oil took them over the top. They really take time to pay attention to detail. If you haven't eaten here yet, you must put this one high on your list. We started with the ricotta fig and pear appetizer, and oh my goodness, it was incredible--creamy, sweet, tangy, and perfectly balanced. Such a fresh and creative dish! For mains, my partner had the chili citrus glazed duck, and it was cooked to perfection: crispy skin, juicy meat, and that glaze brought such bright, zesty flavors that paired beautifully with the sides. I went with the cobia almondine, and it was one of the best fish dishes I've had--perfectly seared, flaky, with the brown butter, almonds, and charred lemon elevating every bite. The cauliflower purée underneath was silky and delicious. We couldn't stop at just dinner--we shared a few desserts (the variety was tempting!), and everything was spot-on: rich, not too sweet, and beautifully presented. The service was truly amazing--our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations without being pushy. They really made us feel taken care of. If you're looking for elevated, ingredient-driven food with Southern-meets-French flair in Pensacola, George Bistro is a must-try. We'll definitely be back soon--maybe for brunch next time! Highly recommend--5 stars all the way!
