The agent that assisted me, Eliana Cortez, was just WONDERFUL! I have a driving on a suspended license conviction on my record but Eliana quickly found me a surprisingly affordable policy with a company that insures actuarially"high risk" drivers (like me). I was amazed and very impressed at the wide range and extent of insurer resources she had at her disposal to work with on my behalf. She appears to have developed close working relationships with many different insurance companies to broker with on behalf of her clients to find you just the right policy at the right price! I walked into the office rather pessimistic about getting good insurance, but Eliana turned my pessimism into a dream come true. Eliana is very kind, polite, and a good listener. But also very precise and well-spoken. She was super patient and thorough with answering all of my questions, which I really appreciated. She really knows her field and obviously loves to help people. She seems to truly enjoy her work and is a great pleasure to work with. If I could.....I would give NO fucking stars! So fucking rude. I never had to cancel my insurance and I am so glad I'm canceling my insurance from them. Someone said they would call me back in 15mins.....THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK! So I followed up. I wanted to cancel my car insurance and they hung up in my face without telling me why they could not do it over the phone. Totally rushed me off the phone without an explanation. There are services you can cancel over the phone. How the fuck am I supposed to know what their procedures are to cancel? The agents were continuously transferring me from agent to agent and I was NOT able to get a hold of a supervisor/manager. They were very rude and tried to rush me off. Cost U less/Bluefire/Freeway insurance was very disrespectful and will treat you like shit when you don't want to to pay for their services anymore. Don't do it. I was being very patient with them up until they hung up in my face and had rushed me off the phone more than once. You will NOT be able to speak to a supervisor. When I wanted to make a complaint, they said they had no record on the phone that this happened and could not do much about it since I could not get the exact agents name. Heads up....make sure you ALWAYS get the agent's name of whoever you are speaking to in case they hang up. The only agent that was able to actually listen and not rush me off the phone was Carlos. Carlos made me felt like I was heard and gave me a reason why I couldn't cancel over the phone. Overall, I still wouldn't trust or give money to Cost U less/ BLue fire or Freeway insurance. STAY AWAY. I was at the DMV across the street and was told I needed an SR-22. I went across the street and asked if I could get one. I told them I had Progressive already and they said not a problem. 10 minutes later they told me it could not be added to Progressive so I just needed SR-22 insurance. I said fine, and they told me I only needed it until July. They turned around and charged me $397 broker fee and Then an extra $100 to start the policy and $48 a month. I asked progressive a week later and the woman on the phone started laughing at me telling me they straight lied to me. I added the SR-22 through them and my insurance went from $68 to $88 a month... At first I thought everything was taken care of because my car license plate on both my cards was suspended I came in and they gave me a total quote of $288 for which I found out $190 went towards their paperwork. I also found out that paperwork was not submitted in a timely manner and it cost me another $28 through DMV I had to come down here at 3 x 4 and the manager was not here all I was getting was excuses. You can do this yourself on computer and save you almost $200. I thought, after weighing my options, that their quote was most competitive; so I stopped by their office a second time to actually purchase a policy. On both occasions, I was greeted pleasantly by the professional but nonetheless attractive Chantela, the Sales Manager there. My experience overall of this branch was that they were very knowledgeable and flexible. Wish I could give this office ZERO stars! They are super sweet and nice when they want to earn your business after that they are the WORST! I have had my policy a few months and can count only two times ever needing them. Once when I was renting a car and Shantell promised to fax over my evidence of insurance and after a hour of waiting at the rental company, I called back and she told me to call the 800 number. WOW! The second time, was this week, when I was trying to understand why the company I was written under wanted to cancel my policy; it was due to them (Cost You Less Oakland) not sending over my file showing proof of my garaging address. Simple right?! Wrong! I had an juvenile agent named Edgar not only hang up in my face, then began to play on the phones redirecting my calls to their voicemail (he had confirmed they used caller ID). So I decided to Fax them a cancellation request along with a written complaint about the lack of professionalism and childish behaviors he displayed. Then today, a day later I called to see if my fax was received and got Shantell who not only stated she didnt check/receive the fax, she shamelessly defended him, and kept running off at the mouth and over-talking me when I was simply trying to confirm receipt of the fax nd possibly resolve the matter with my policy cancellation. Super RUDE!!! Talk about getting what you paid for. Maybe I should paid and extra fee for some courtesy. I did business with these people to save money but I much rather deal with AAA and/or Farmers who know how to treat their customers with respect versus earned commission. read more
