We were so excited to try this place since it came so highly recommended by papusas experts. We were immediately approached when we arrived and we were able to put in our order quickly. They forgot to ask us for drinks so I later had to call down a waitress for some water. They offer a small basket of chips and salsa. Most places like this that I've gone too offer unlimited but here they don't. It's extra if you want more chips or salsa. We also found it strange that they gave us such a small amount of cortido with our papusas. If you order 4 papusas they give you the same amount of cabbage as if you order 2. If you want more cabbage it costs extra. That is also not typical. I thought the pays as were a bit undercooked as I didn't get any yummy crispy edges I normally look forward to. First off, how have I missed this placed for 6 years they have been open!!! Was craving auth Mexican food, saw this listing and that they also served pupusas so I said we are going here for date night! We had the coconut drink and good lawd, that was to die for! Had chips and salsa, they gave us 5 different salsa's to sample. All had different flavors and textures. Hubby went with the combo plate with a tamale and enchilada. I had 1 lamb taco( meat was so tender) 1 el pastor( one of the best I have had in Utah) and 1 asada and cheese pupusa, 1 pork, bean and cheese pupusa. It came with the cabbage salad. It was all super flavorful. We also shared some plantains el Salvadoran style, that comes with cheese, crème and beans, do yourself a favor and order these. Service was remarkable. Inside is decorated nice. Ok yes, place is in a weird building, and if you use the restroom it's apart of the main but with that aside, I will def be visiting again! We have many great Mexican restaurants in northern Utah and Costa Del Sol in Ogden is one of the best. Located at 2433 Adam's, right on the corner with 24th it is a location away from many restaurants but when you try this honey hole you will understand my addiction. The staff is extremely friendly, courteous and if you don't know what something is they will gladly explain the item. My favorite dish is their Lamb Birria with rice and beans, the lanb is beyond perfectly cooked and delicious and same goes with their homemade authentic rice and beans. My wife had the enchiladas with chicken and they too were delicious. Go check them out, thur-sat is when they have lamb which I highly recommend. read more

I had a great dining experience here today. The service was wonderful and we were well taken care of. I tried their coconut milk and it was to die for, very creamy. I had their asada pupusas which were really good size and the asada has a great flavor. We also had their asada fries, shrimp soup and siete mares. I ordered takeout. I got the steak fajitas, steak pupusas, beans & rice pupusas, and jamaica to drink. The fajitas lacked flavor. Most of the veggies were overcooked, then there were a couple random raw onions thrown in. The rice that comes with it was good though, probably the best food that they offer. The pupusas were alright, not a lot of flavor either. They do come with several types of salsa, but I wish we could choose which one we wanted. That way instead of getting a little bit of a several kind of salsa, we could get more of the flavor we liked. Not a lot of places serve pupusas though, so if you're looking for them, this is an option. The Jamaica tasted a little off.. I finally realized that it tasted like really old ice that's been in your freezer for a couple months. All in all, I think this place is overpriced for what they're offering. read more

The location is a bit odd so we wouldn't have known it was here if it weren't for yelp recommending it. The service was great and they make everyone feel at home. The place was very clean and had a pretty cute theme like an outdoor market. When I saw the menu I was so excited to see pupusas!! I went with the combo 3, enchilada, a taco, and rice and beans. I also ordered a bean and cheese pupusa which was everything I hoped it would be. We came here after going to the movies with our family visiting for the holidays. They could easily accommodate our group of 8. It is located on the outside of an apartment building, so a bit difficult to track down, but the inside was clean and simple with lots of space to spread out. There was one guy holding down the entire dining room plus to go orders so service was a bit slow but we didn't mind at all and he was suuuuper cool and accommodating and I think he managed the task well. Food was really good. We got the cheese dip with our chips and inhaled it, the chips were a great balance of structural integrity and crispiness. Our group also ordered the cali burrito, tamale and enchilada plate, taco and enchilada plate, and pupusas. Everything we ordered was great and fresh. The more I eat here the more and more I love it. The staff know my family by now and are always so friendly. My kids eat all their food, big bonus. They've updated in decor and it feels like a cozy restaurant now. The pastor fries are to die for. I love the Chile rellenos with flour, make a little taco with them and their green sauce and it's simply the best. The restaurant itself is pleasant and inviting and spacious. The service was fast and attentive. Prices are decent, $18 for 3 enchiladas, rice and beans, or for huge burrito. Food (5/5): We got Carne Asada fries, Mole de Pollo, and a California Burrito. The carne asada fries had soft and flavorful beef with crispy fries and amazing white cheese sauce. The mole de pollo was also very tasty. The chicken itself was soft and moist but cooked well. It was served with a side of rice, beans, and tortillas. The California burrito was different since it didn't have fries which most places will do. Service (5/5): We went at about 6PM and there was one lady who promptly greeted us and took our order. I placed an order to go here. Never had a chance to have pupusas locally, so this was awesome! They were open for dine in - but are practicing social distancing. It looked very authentic and the pupusas were very good. My only letdown was the small serving of cabbage slaw for 15 pupusas :( Would definitely order from here again! My husband and I were feeling brave and stopped at the Costa del Sol restaurant even though it had no reviews on Yelp. Thankfully we were pleasantly surprised--it's one of the better Mexican Restaurants in Ogden for sure. The agua Fresca was delicious and obviously made in-house, the chiriqueso dip was great, and the burritos are enormous! The only downside is they don't have any alcohol. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was busy, but not at full capacity. We arrived hungry and were disappointed by the amount of time we had to wait to order and that no chips and salsa were brought to the table. The waitress was very nice and we know it was busy, but I feel like all Mexican restaurants start you off with chips...we finally had to ask (note...only one free chips/salsa, each basket after runs $2.50 according to their menu so we just got the one) and even then it took quite while for food. The food itself was really good! I would highly recommended the fajitas or the pork burrito. Both delicious and large portions. The beans didn't look the most appetizing, but they had a great flavor! All in all, it was great food and I would recommend it if you are in the area! I am giving it a 4 for wait time and the fact that they don't give you more than one basket of chips. read more

The restaurant was clean and decorated with Mexican theme murals. Food was delivered as ordered and in good time. The meal was preempted with chips and salsa. The kids enjoyed the chicken nuggets as they aren't big in Mexican food. The adults split the chicken fajita and it was very tasty and plenty for two. I came for my first time today, after seeing them on google and see the good reviews, so we decided to come in and try it, me and my partner were both super disappointed, we ordered a carne asada burrito, and a Al pastor burrito, and two drinks, the waitress asked us if we wanted it smothered, we said sure, after getting our food we both started to notice the majority of our burritos were just rice and beans, my partner had few chunks of Carne asada in it but 100% not enough to make it a burrito maybe two street tacos worth, mine had a little more in it but not too much more then his. I also had to order limes as a side because the burrito doesn't come with anything else but the burrito, and when we went to check out the total was way more then what was stated on the menu, when we asked what the two $1.99 charges were and she said "oh it's for the smothering" I looked at the menu again and I didn't see anything about smothering on it, had I known it was 2$ I wouldn't have said yes, I asked her why she didn't mention that when she asked us and she just shrugged I definitely wouldn't go again. read more
