Best place to go for an inexpensive lunch. You can't get a cheaper hotdog and soda anywhere else. I stopped by for a slice of cheese pizza and a berry smoothie, and spent less than $6!

As a huge Costco fan, I would rate this Costco as a mid Costco, but definitely still one worth visiting! Being in Arlington, it is very crowded and is a small space for a Costco. They have lay parking and a garage, but will validate your parking. While they had a great selection of products and food, the service was not great. We stood in line forever just to be told that we (and everyone behind us) weren't in the correct line by an employee 15 minutes later... I was not impressed by the service and atmosphere. Luckily, the pizza and cookie at the food court were amazing and a great value! 3 of us split the cookie and it filled us up after each having a slice of pizza. The pizza was uniquely slightly undercooked which actually gave it a fluffy and fun flavor! Great value for dinner and the products that we bought.

Love this Costco! I'd consider it a Costco with plenty of diverse food options, which they seem to always change up. Your regular stuff can be found too, but I've noticed if it's busy you may or may not find the items you need (i.e. eggs, chicken, particular salad or some drinks). But they have plenty of options so I'd fear not. Since this Costco is close to the city, the parking is pretty terrifying if you're not used to driving around DC. You have to pull a ticket (and get it validated inside the store) at the entrance. There is garage parking with plenty of spots, but wow-corners can be tight! And if you park in the garage, better wait for the elevators, there is only two! Overall I love going to this Costco because of their selection. My guess is that since it's closer to the DC proper, people forgo the odd parking situation. The service is great as usual, no complaints. And everything at Costco is a great value to me.

Garage elevator was stuck on the 3rd floor and 911 had to come and get the people out from the elevator.

I strongly DO NOT recommend using the garage elevator at this Costco location Today the elevator on the 3rd floor got stuck, trapping people inside, and Arlington Fire and EMS (911) had to respond to evacuate them. I parked in the adjacent indoor garage on the 3rd floor. I briefly recorded the emergency response from a safe distance. A parking garage employee approached and told me to stop filming, so I immediately complied with no issues. With the elevator out of service, I had no choice but to walk back up to the 3rd floor to retrieve my car, since hauling heavy Costco groceries down multiple flights of stairs is not realistic. As I was trying to exit the garage, a garage employee instructed her colleague to photograph my vehicle and license plate. That colleague then followed me through the garage while taking additional photos of me and my car. They even followed me outside the garage to continue taking photos of me, and ran away when I attempted to photograph the employee who was following and photographing me. I was simply attempting to leave due to the elevator failure and posed zero threat or disruption. The staff's overreaction-escalating to following and photographing a customer mid-exit felt like unnecessary intimidation. Combined with the serious elevator outage, this made for a very poor experience. The parking lot employees showed hostile behavior toward me, and they really need to check their attitudes toward customers. Fix your elevators and your employees' behavior.

    Ask the Community - Costco

Does this Costco have a gas station?

Pentagon City Costco does not have a gas station. It does have auto service and tires.

Does the food court require membership?

Technically yes, but not enforced everywhere

Is the snack bar still carry out only?

    Yes.

Have the crowds died down at this Costco? In March and April it was crazy!

It really just depends on what time you go. Weekends and week nights can be pretty busy.

Is the liquor store at this location separate? At other locations you do not need a membership card to use the liquor store.

There is no liquor store at this location. Beer and wine only

I actually had a balance and rotation scheduled but over the weekend I developed a bubble in my tire so I had to order a whole new set. Seems like when I come here that's always the case. So the tires set me back a cool $600 which included all the disposal fees and that was with my discount for buying my full set from them before...$80. So I came in today as they were fully booked on Tuesday when they called me that my tires were in. I canceled and rearranged my whole schedule to come get this put on and when I get there they going to tell me the guy ordered the wrong tires! Now how in the hell did he do that! At first the guy was like you ordered the wrong tires. I had to correct him and said no YOU ALL ordered them when I came in on Monday. Like he was trying to act like I just went online and ordered some random sizes. I asked for the manage because it seemed like the actual size was going to costs me more. After about 15 minutes the manager came by and gave me 20% discount and a small refund as the new actual size tires were a little bit cheaper than what the other guy charged me! So a lesson learn keep your receipts handy as I had mine in my wallet and when I showed him his whole demeanor changed as he saw who rung me up on Monday. Moral of the story I guess you gotta ask the "professional" if they given you the correct sizes because that was some bs. Now I gotta drive another several days on a tire with a huge bubble in hoping and praying it doesn't blow up on me anytime soon before they get the tires. Only given them 3-stars because there was no back and forth they went straight in and discounted and gave me a return. No, not even close... but it's not their fault. The lot is too small. The store is built on the site of the old Mt Vernon Multiplex, which closed in 2007 or so. It's jammed in between Ladson Lane and the Wal-Mart. And while I love the cheap Costco gas, sometimes I wish they'd get rid of the pumps and use the space for parking, as more than once I've simply been unable to find a spot -- and getting out of the lot can take 20 minutes. The crowd outside means there's a crowd inside. The management does a good job of keeping checkout lanes open, and of course the checkers are amazingly fast and efficient, but there's really no place for shopper to queue up. So they fill the aisles waiting their turn, and if you're just trying to get some Cliff bars up front, you have to navigate through a bunch of impatient folks waiting to check out. Again, it's not the store's fault that they're popular, and if they cleared a bunch of merchandise lanes to dedicate to checkout space, it would mean less stuff or higher prices. I get the issue. So for me, I try to take advantage of the Executive early hours and do my shopping then: Never a problem finding a spot, and I'm in and out in record time.
