My coworkers and I love Costcos and that includes Costco at Chantilly Crossing location. However - Tien and Desiree in the pharmacy provided terrible customer services, were also an inappropriate in their ways communicating with me, and this went on for a while. I love Costcos and have been a member for years, but please try another Costco pharmacy and AVOID TIEN and DESIREE at Chantilly Costco. I have transferred, canceled, and removed all of my prescriptions from this nightmare of a pharmacy to another Costco pharmacy and NO regrets. I will NEVER recommend this pharmacy location to anyone who expects customer service, honesty, ethical behaviors, respectful communication with better pharmacy staff and their customers/ clients, and simply more conscientious and honest workers. read more

The gas station area could be laid out a lot better. At peak time it's a cluster of people all over the place with no clear line. The interior is roomy, easy to navigate, and unlike most Costcos it's actually possible to find staff if you look. read more

I went to Costco on a Friday after work along with everyone else. There is a big storm coming this weekend so a lot of people decided to stock up. After filling my cart and checking out, I could barely move past the checkout line because the exit was jammed with people. As I was inching toward the door, an employee named Asia said "we have a problem!" and started jogging toward the door. Asia jumped in and started checking receipts along with the 2 other door clerks. It was so nice to see someone notice that there was a problem and immediately spring into action. I like this Costco the best because of its layout and the parking lot. BUT many of the long standing staff that have worked here over the years are RUDE and arrogant. I know the pandemic was unprecedented, but their behavior was out of bounds witnessing them yelling/screaming at people to put their masks on, stay behind the line, refusing them early entry because their disability was not obvious even though the person had a medical ID, and was parked in the handicap, and had a prosthetic leg. The employees assumed their patrons were lying and opted to treat us like animals. One customer they yelled at that he would not be allowed to enter until he put on his mask, was on oxygen, and when they realized it they lowered their voice and let him proceed without needing to put on his mask, but it was degrading and uncomfortable to witness them making him a spectacle. Costco forgot how to treat people humanely during a 3 year crisis. read more

I'm officially no longer a COSTCO member and here's why... it all started with ordering tooth paste from the COSTCO website. I bought 4 four packs of SENSODYNE toothpaste for $127. The product showed up with 4 out of 4 damaged. The weird thing is that on every four pack one box or two had a torn open box or cut open box. Even more weird is one box on the entire end it looked like it was chewed open by a mouse or rat. The products weren't damaged in shipping but left the warehouse this way. I question the cleanliness of the tooth paste and frankly question if the product wasn't altered or otherwise corrupted - maybe I should call the police and have the toothpaste tested. I tried to return the order using COSTCO's website . On the final screen I clicked the button to finalize the order and the website crashed giving me a notice that the return couldn't be completed and to contact customer service which I did by chat. The return was processed efficiently by Lori H and she sent me a UPS return label by email. I printed the label, taped it to the package, and repacked the tooth paste. I next tried to schedule UPS to pickup the package on the UPS website. I couldn't get past the UPS website which kept asking for billing information. I next called UPS to schedule a pickup and was told that to schedule a pickup I would have to provide a credit card for an $11.75 charge. A charge for the pickup.... I was shocked. UPS is at my house or my neighbors' houses every other day. What would I pay them anything when they're here any way? And, why would I pay for something that COSTCO caused - they should have never sent out questionable product in the first place. COSTCO caused this problem and they should be responsible for accepting the consequences of shoddy workmanship and letting compromised product leave their warehouse. After two hours of chatting and phone calls to COSTCO and UPS and repacking and printing of labels, I realized that I was going to have to waste more of my time to fix COSTCO's incompetence. I'm leaving tomorrow for a business trip and have no time to deal with this but I'm going to have to find time to swing by the UPS store to drop off this package - apparently COSTCO thinks I work for them - 3 hours of wasted time for a return on products that were obviously damaged before they left the warehouse. Colossal waste of my time - when I return from my business trip I will go to my local COSTCO which is 40 minutes from house and cancel my membership - all over $11.75 that COSTCO failed to accept as their responsibility and wasting 3 if not 4 hours of time. read more

I love Costco! This place is awesome for so many reasons. Their cakes and baked goods are well made. They are affordable, the serving size is generous, and it tastes great. Free samples everywhere, love it! Their food court is one of my faves. Got a couple of dollar bills in your wallet? You can grab yourself a filling lunch here. Their pizzas are excellent. Try the Chicken Bake and Italian Sausage. Yum... I've found a number of gifts here for loved ones. Their flower arrangements are really nice too. Employees at this location are always friendly and very helpful. I love that you are greeted with a smile. The employees at self check out are so helpful in placing my purchases in the cart as I scan the items. The employees who check your receipts before you leave are all smiles too. Costco tire is awesome along with the staff and the store management. My dilemma started about 1hr prior to close and could not get through on the phone so I took a shot getting there 40 min before closing. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful even with an annoying caller on the phone. What patience from them, especially when I could hear the phone call where the guy says he has a tire knows nothing about it but asks if they have Michelins in stock. I wanted to smack the caller but the front desk was amazing and polite. They then helped me but advised they may not be able to do it so close to closing. Shortly thereafter the front desk talked to the mechanics who agreed to fix my tire. Wow $10.99!! Can't beat that and find the best customer service I have experience in a long time!!! read more

Extremely bad customer service at the Chantilly Costco , half an hour in line to return one item! A supervisor named Brian came around the return long line with a scanner he scanned a few costumers turned around and left .. didn't even care to help with the registers ... there was one lady very slow at the returns and one very nasty young guy ( blond hair sorry I didn't see his name I was no angry )doing membership and some returns taking his sweet time as well ... Love this location always has cool new items. Parking is easy on weekdays. The layout is improved over others with the high use items like paper plates paper towers etc near the front. Amazing meat selection. We went on a Traeger 2 week run and all the prime beef brisket was amazing and a steak at 3.99/lb. Costco is one of my favorite places to shop not only for food, but also for cleaning and bathroom supplies, and electronics. I also get my glasses at Costco. Most Costco stores have their own pharmacies, and one secret tip is that you don't have to be a Costco member to get your prescriptions filled. On the food topic, I think that Costco meats. (beef, chicken and pork) are exceptional, both in quality and prices. I always buy butter from grassfed milk, and their Kerry gold pack cannot be better in price compared to other markets. Their multigrain bread, baked on premise and sold in a two-pack, is delicious and packed with nutrients. There is so much to like about Costco! The only criticism I can make is that sometimes they bring a great product, you tried and fall in love with it, and then it dissapears forever. For some mysterious reason, Costco decides not to stock it anymore. My second pet peeve is that almost everything is packaged in huge quantities. I live alone, and it's difficult to buy fresh produce that you know you cannot possibly consume before it goes bad, so you just don't. read more

Today was the last straw for me with Costco. As I went to the self checkout, I found a COSTCO employee with a gun looking scanner, checking the membership cards of customers BEFORE they went to the self checkout line. When I told the employee that what he was doing was something new, he called me a liar and said this had been going on for some time. I just went to Costco last week and there was no employee checking cards before the self checkout line. Personally I'm tired being treated like a criminal in COSTCO. The requirement they check your receipt and goods before you leave the store is bad enough, but to add this additional check on the assumption you could be using someone else's card before checkout is ridiculous. You now have to fumble around to get your card out of your wallet 3 times before you leave. On top of that, the customer service at Costco is pathetic. There is no one to help you find anything. They constantly move items around. I used to get bread next to the produce area, and then they moved it all the way across the store. There is no app to tell you where items are like at other stores. There are virtually no employees to tell you where an item is stocked. Finally, I've had two cars damaged at COSTCO tire shops. Both involved damaged lugs. One was broken off and the other was stripped, both the result of a power tool overtorquing the lug nuts. The service at their tire center is probably the worst part of the store. It's a Costco like most others but this one is the closest to my home and offers self checkout. With the self checkout lanes to the far right, I can usually sneak around by the Pharmacy and catch a shorter self checkout line avoiding the masses jamming up the main center aisle. Just avoid the place on a Saturday. They don't have a gas station which used to bug me but now that I drive an electric vehicle I don't care much. Maybe put in a couple EV chargers for us? I did see in the local paper though that they got a permit to build a gas station in their parking lot. Good news I guess but am a little concerned about how parking spots will disappear to host it. read more

Coming from a family with five kids, Costco was a necessity growing up. I've been a card carrying member since I was fifteen years old! I didn't even know that other brands existed because everything in my household had that sweet black and gold Kirkland Signature logo on it -- socks, shoes, diapers, cookies, and chicken. I never felt deprived that my sneakers were not Nike like all the other kids at school, Kirkland Signature never failed to provide a low-cost, quality product. The Costco in Chantilly has a special place in my heart. I have found that out of all the other Nova Costcos they have the most open parking spaces, friendliest staff, cleanest store, and quickest lines. Hats off to you Chantilly Costco operations team! I shop at this Costco half the time (weekends), and the other half of the time it's the Arlington one (weekdays). It feels like this location is less crowded and has more parking spaces available. The availability of products and services is about on par with other Costcos. The best deals IMO are over the counter medication, photo lab, rotisserie chicken, and food court. Most food and clothing prices are cheaper than other retail stores, but not always, so be sure to compare prices. read more

Awful customer service and for all the membership fees and surcharges customer pay, this place exhibit unfavorable behavior. In fact, my past two recent visits, one in the Optical Department, the lady talked me out of the glasses that I wanted because, she said, it looked too big on my face and it would require a thicker lense. I did not get it at first, and I tried to get her to explain what she was telling me but she simply said, the big glasses 56 will not work. When I selected the 55, which is not that much smaller, she was okay with it and said the thin lense should work. Hey, this is not my first choice for glasses but wanting to not overspent on just a reading glasses and my hubby's recommendation, I proceeded ordering it from Costco despite the initial issue. The glasses came right away, like I said, it was just a reading glass, one eye being .25 sharper so I was happy it came back right away, and I picked it up on Friday, June 14. The sales associate insisted on setting the glasses on while I was there and adjusted the handles because he thought it was loose. Now, it's Monday, I am trying it on the PC screen, and my glasses is sitting in a tilted position, making the screen appear narrower on the top than the bottom quadrant. I knew it, the associate at Costo bended the handles too far down that it the frame does not set straight on my face. It sits in a 30 degree angle from the top, the frame is too forward and at bottom the frame is touching my cheekbones so firmly. I called Costco just now, and the person who answered the phone castigated me for picking it up without complaining at the time. I told him, the person who was helping me adjusted the frames because he thought it needed tightening. But the way it was adjusted, it appears now, that the frame is not sitting properly on my face, and it is in an angle and looking out, it feels like I am not looking straight, it has a narrowing effect on top view and wider at bottom and I am looking dead straight in my PC screen. At this time, my only option is to go back and see if they can adjust this frame but after this incident and an earlier one, I don't think I would recommend this to anyone. And mind you, it is just a reading glass. I have 20-15 vision, which is to say, my eyesight is sharper than most. I just need glasses for my PC screen or smart devices to read/view, that's all. I should have gotten one off the shelf but with my left eye slightly sharper than the right, I wanted to see straight. BUT now, I feel I am looking cross-eyed with this glasses. I had no issue using one of those pharmacy off the shelf pair before but given I wanted to keep the health of my eyes in good condition, after seeing an optometrist, this RX for glasses ensued. I prefer this location to the Fairfax location because it is generally less crowded and it has self-check out registers. I prefer the Fairfax location because of the gas station. Both locations are about 4 miles from home. My advice is simply not to go on the weekends. Parking is difficult unless you go during the week. But - more samples to try on the weekends. The staff is nice, the place is clean, the inventory is well-stocked. Unfortunately on this visit they didn't have organic ground beef - just organic ground turkey. I'm giving it a try. read more

Significantly less crowded than Sterling or Leesburg Costco which is awesome! I knocked a star because there is no gas station which makes me sad. They are a typical Costco: friendly, kind, clean, and helpful but the biggest difference is HOW MUCH LESS crowded they are. I don't know if they are just run a bit more efficiently, or if they population is less compared to Sterling and Leesburg, but it's amazing. Just got 4 new tires on my Ford F150. Ordering online was easy. There were no sneaky upcharges. When tires arrived, I got an Email stating tires were in and directed me to make an appointment. Showed up for appointment and staff was very professional. I walked around outside and watched them work on the truck. They used a torque wrench to tighten nuts to appropriate tightness (as they should)... very impressive. I even noticed the guy double check every single lug nut after he was done with the job. As soon as they were done, I got a phone call to meet at register. They were very busy that day. It took 80 minutes from start to finish. All Covid-safe experience. No issues with tires or balancing. read more

Even when there are people, it's always those with just a handful of items, so things move quickly. Tons of parking, self checkout, and other shops and eats in the same plaza make this Costco a big winner. read more

The store is well organized so it's pretty easy to find your way even on your first trip. We stopped by for diapers yesterday expecting to battle crazy crowds and shortages due to the COVID19 pandemic BUT they have completely streamlined their process! They are controlling the number of guests allowed inside at any one time, limiting quantities that can be purchased per visit, and even sanitized carts between guests! We were in and out of the parking lot in less than 30 minutes!! #bravo read more
