Extremely Disappointed with the Service I had a terrible experience when I came in for a simple oil change. First, I had to wait 20 minutes just for an employee to assist me when I arrived. After the service was supposedly done, I noticed my car was left parked near a pump with all the windows down and the doors unlocked. I waited a few more minutes and asked the employee at the register if I could take my car. He told me I had to wait for another employee--so I waited another 15 minutes. Finally, he told me I could just take it. I asked him for my key, and he said, "They're in your car." I was shocked. The mechanic had left the keys inside an unlocked car with the windows down. When I expressed my concern, the employee just shrugged and said, "I don't know." This kind of carelessness and lack of accountability is unacceptable. This shop is going down the drain. I've been taking my two cars to this place for safety and emission inspection for over ten years and this guy have been inspecting my cars for the past couple of years. But, just a couple of days ago he failed my safety test, reason being the headlight bulb and fog light lens, even though he was the one doing the inspection for the past couple years and every time it passed. My cars headlight and fog light has been staying this way for a long long time. This old dude, their manager gave me a quote of about $500 to fix those two items, he was obviously trying to fail anyone to bring some business to their garage. I've been taking my cars to this local garage for the last 3 years. They have reliably identified problems, fixed them, and charged me fair prices. I like the fact that I can drop my car off, have them repair it, and pick it up later even if the garage is shut. The cashier is available at much later hours, which is really helpful. I find their prices totally reasonable and they call me and keep me updated on what's going on. Often I've had my car in, repaired, and back the same day. They do quick and reasonable state inspections, too. Just pull up in the right spot, hand over the keys, and off you go. Look out for popular times like the first Saturday of the month. The queue can be long. This is everything I want in a neighbourhood garage: friendly, competent, and fairly priced. read more

I attempted to purchase gas by inserting my credit card twice into the machine but it told me to go to the cash register. When I did the man said "eets working". I said it's not, it told me to come in here. And I handed him my credit card to get a fill up. He said "no no the machine show eets all fine". I said but I can't get gas out of it. He repeated what he said before. I told him. "Well I will have to get gas some where else then if you're not going to help me". He replied with a very happy OKAY! I went there on a Sunday to get an inspection sticker from Matthew Carr. I was failed because of steering and suspension "issues" even though I explained that I had recently paid nearly $4,000 in repairs for my car only a couple months earlier. He was trying to convince me that my car wasn't operating correctly even though I told him I did not notice any issues. Went to my dealer the next day (the place that did the repairs) and they did a thorough review of my car and did not notice anything that would have caused me to get a rejection. They also said several station mechanics will often try to find things to fail on cars in hopes you will have them "fix" the so-called issue. read more

The Inspector Mr. Sasan Sattarzadeh, was trying to find anything to fail my inspection, he said the CV-boots needs replacing, and cleaning my steering weal oil, etc. I take care of my vehicles and I have never had an inspector remove the under plastic cover of the engine just to find something to fail. I think this guy was hoping that I would give them the work at this Shell station. A week later I took my car back and he failed the inspection again. Reason being engine wasn't clean. They were also dirty, didn't use gloves and plastic seat covers, and poor customer service. Don't waste you're time at this location. read more

I went to Chantilly Shell on 10/8/18 for an state inspection. I am somewhat surprised by the negative reviews. I had nothing but a pleasant experience working with the mechanic. I also liked the fact that Chantilly Shell had a very organized process. You pull your car up to a dedicated line for inspections. It is 1st come 1st serve which is more than fair. It appeared that if there is a line one mechanic is dedicated to perform the service(s). In a nutshell, no complaints and would recommend this station if you need a state inspection. read more

I have used this shop for inspections for the last 18 years. Never again. Ever since they started using the new technician for inspection they have failed my car both times. This time, it was for a leaking brake caliper that was DEFINITELY NOT leaking when I drove it there. All the repair shop I went for quote about fixing the item he failed, do not understand why he did that. Well, everyone has his own opinion, guess young man always think they are different. After my Service Engine Light turned on, I dropped of my car the very next morning at Shell Chantilly. When I dropped off my car, Mr Ahmeed suggested a tune-up. Well, it may as well have been called a tune-down because my car LITERALLY DIED during the first drive after the 'tune- down' that cost me $365 in parts and $414 in labor. Alone, at night on a very busy highway (495/95), I was stranded and had to get a tow to have it towed back to Shell Chantilly, and an Uber for me, both for a total of $150, just to get to safety. Upon a look over, Shell Chantilly simple told me, 'So sorry. We probably left the pump loosened after changing the spark plugs'. They did not bother to offer to help out with the towing expenses that THEY caused. All-in-all, their amazing sloppy work of a tune-down cost me a grand total $1,000. So if you want to Shell Out (no pun intended) for a costly, experience that could endanger your life, this is the place! read more

Based on a recommendation from a friend, I have used these folks for annual inspections and emission testing. After several years, they have displayed a consistently high level of honesty and efficiency in all areas. I come from another state where such inspections were ELIMINATED because so many people were ripped off over the years. These guys are quick and will make the needed repairs on the spot; all at a reasonable price. I send everyone I know there and know that they will be treated well. I just bought a new car and have free inspections at the dealership, but I don't trust the dealership folks as much as I trust these guys. I had some work done by these guys on the car that I just traded in. Without charge they gave me a loaner car while my car was being worked on! Needless to say I enjoyed this dealership treatment from a small shop. Very pleased overall! read more

This service station is under new ownership and I am not impressed with how he is managing the business. I've been a customer for well over 10 years and I won't go back again for any repairs. I took my Jeep in with a defective headlight and was told the entire lighting fixture needed to be replaced. Within three weeks after repair the light was not working again and then was told that the issue was light likely not the fixture but rather the signal to the lighting fixture. The repair was clearly misdiagnosed and there was no attempt by management to reimburse me for my sunk costs as a result of their error in understanding the problem. A few weeks ago, I started having car trouble right as I was about to pass this Shell station. I lived 30 miles away at the time, and did not want to pay to have my car towed all the way back to my regular service station. Kendall looked under the hood, and diagnosed what was wrong (water pump locked up causing to alternator belt to snap) in under a minute. He gave me a quote, but said he was unable to fix it that day as it would take a few hours. Kendall was incredibly friendly and professional, and did all of this at no charge. I had my car fixed elsewhere later that day (because I needed it done immediately). The other shop gave me the same diagnosis, and charged a similar price to the quote Kendall gave me. As someone who is not too familiar with motor vehicles, having Kendall's diagnosis and price quote in my mind while talking to the other shop was invaluable. I don't pass through Chantilly often, but when I do I make it a point to get gas at the Chantilly Shell. This Shell station was recommended to me by a nice guy who helped me when my car had overheated and was sitting on the shoulder of the road. His friend, Kendall, owns the location. I honestly had never taken my car to a gas station to have repairs/maintenance done so I wasn't sure what to expect. I have had very good experiences with their service and especially like that you can drop your car/keys off (and pick them up) at any time due to their collaboration with the 24/7 gas station attendant inside. When you pay, they always give you free coupons for the carwash at the Shell gas station in Greenbriar Shopping Center.
