The day I went in for the eye exam, I filled out the billing paperwork for the eye insurance and told them several times not to medical insurance. The receipt I got showed the supplemental insurance co pay. They then turned around and fraudulently billed my medical insurance anyways. I received a totally different prescription than I've ever had and it is no good. I am now stuck with no glasses for two years because they billed my medical insurance.

I need them desperately to see. Ordering glasses at most places would take days to come in. Teaches me a lesson not to have a back up pair around. So on a whim I found The Eye Place. First off, on Shelles The Eye Place website, I really liked what she had to say about herself, her background, and how she runs her business. As a person that has spent many years in sales, I believe in transparency and not being pushy with the customer. Shellee has those same values. Transparently speaking I just went in there to see if she had any ideas on how I could maybe fix them. She's quite lovely in person. She knows what she's talking about and treats you like your family. I felt like I had known her for years, the way that we talked. When I finally pulled out my glasses to show her what had happened, she didn't even miss a beat. She found a similar frame and popped out the lenses on my broken pair of glasses and put them in the new frames. The new frames are at a great price point. She made little adjustments on the glasses to ensure they fit my face properly. The transaction was smooth and seamless. I love my new glasses. Shellee has a wonderful selection of glasses to fit any face and designs to fit anyone's unique style. You can tell by the way Shellee interacts with you that she loves what she does and she ensures that her customers leave with a smile on their face and the perfect eyeglass frames. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful Optician that takes pride in their work and delivers high quality care.

Both times it cost us about $650.00. Some friends told us that they had gone to Walmart and had spent much less for frames and lenses. This year we went to Walmart and we were told that we did Not have to buy new frames and that they could use either one of the frames we had purchased at Lens Crafters. We chose the one that Lens Crafters had told us we could NOT use last year. The result, my husband has new lenses in the frame he likes for $275.00. We did encounter a problem with the prescription. Walmart was wonderful. They actually had to make the lenses three times but did not charge us anything extra. We will be going back to Walmart for all our new glasses.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my experience today at Costco during checkout…read more While waiting in line, I noticed that the cashier at Lane 7 was available with no items on the counter. Since the line I was in was moving slowly, I politely asked the cashier if I could check out there, and he agreed. Based on that, I moved my cart over. Shortly after, an employee assisting with pre-checkout (name: Andres) confronted me and said, "Didn't you see me standing here?" I immediately apologized and explained that I had asked the cashier for permission. Despite my apology, he became visibly upset and insisted that I should have asked him instead. Even after I complied and moved my cart to another register, he continued making comments toward me, which I found unnecessary, disrespectful, and unprofessional. What should have been a minor misunderstanding escalated unnecessarily. I was already apologetic, yet his continued remarks made me feel targeted and humiliated. I was so distressed at the time that my voice was shaking while I spoke. I attempted to speak with a manager but was told the manager was unavailable. A supervisor was present nearby during the incident but did not step in. Later, at the customer service desk, the supervisor came over, and I realized she had been there the entire time. She said she would speak with Andres; however, after waiting for a period of time, there was no follow-up or resolution provided to me. Additionally, when I explained the situation at the service desk, I was immediately accused of cutting in line, without any effort to understand what had actually happened. This response felt dismissive and unfair. I also requested a complaint form at the time, but I was told repeatedly that the forms were locked in a drawer and that the manager is the only one had a key. I find this explanation unacceptable, as it effectively prevented me from filing a complaint on-site. During the interaction, when I expressed that I felt I was being treated unfairly and possibly discriminated against, I was told that discrimination was not possible because the employee involved is Hispanic. I found this response inappropriate and concerning. Discrimination is not limited to any single group, and dismissing my concern in this way only added to my distress. I firmly believe that this situation would not have escalated in the same way under different circumstances. What began as a small and unintentional mistake turned into a deeply uncomfortable experience, where I felt unsupported and unfairly treated throughout. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with basic respect and professionalism. Instead, I left feeling upset, dismissed, and without any meaningful assistance. This is an email I wrote to the CEO of Costco. I sent it to him some time ago, but I haven't received a response yet.

Was told go upstairs and see if they could take a walk in. When I got up stairs I was met by a Kevin who told me they had no appointments and with my insurance I would still have to pay almost $250 for a basic eye exam. He said my vision insurance was out of network and I explained I had blue cross from NY. I explained I was only here for the day and did not want to drive from MA to NY on a expired license and I just needed a quick exam to renew my license. A older gentleman was there for an appointment waiting and also chimed into help and it was becoming a nightmare. The short lady, She called blue cross to confirm my benefits and the out of network policy. She went above and beyond, had me worked up and while waiting for the doctor explained to blue cross on my behalf the predicament I put myself in and instead of paying $250 I would pay 30% of the exam fee for being out of network. By the time I was ready for the doctor, the doctor was already booked and unable to see me. I ended up leaving but I wanted to make sure she got recognized for going above and beyond to help me and still maintained conversation with other patients and multi tasked like a champ. Her energy, empathy and compassion should be noted. I genuinely appreciate everything she did to try and help me out! -MB

I flunked my first contact application appointment and I booked a second appointment for contacts at 3:30 hesitantly, explaining I wouldn't be able to arrive until 3:40. I was assured this would be fine. I arrived at 3:40 and went into the doctors' office around 4:10/4:20. I had practiced beforehand and was able to put the contacts in (hooray!). I had an unexpectedly really hard time getting the contacts out though. After trying for a while and asking for help, my doctor Amanda Gannon told me she "didn't know what to tell me" and that if I couldn't get them out by myself or with assistance that I would have to go to the ER and have them surgically removed and that MyEyeDoctor was closing in 10 minutes. She kept telling me that I had to get the contacts out and that they were closing until I started crying. She kindly told me she would wait until I could get them off and after the pressure was taken off, I was able to take out the contacts. She told me I had "gotten myself worked up" and that I would most likely be able to put contacts in at home. I was surprised to see that I left exactly at 5, which is when MyEyeDoctor closes. I can't imagine how hard these eye doctors are working and how much they want to get home, but this is one of those experiences in healthcare that will stick with me. I appreciate the doctor giving me some extra time, but I really feel like this whole thing could have been avoided with different scheduling or with my doctor easing up when she realized I was struggling with the contacts. I did wind up getting them out in time for closing, but I was really scared and upset. Lovely front of desk people, nurses, and doctors, and I've had very positive experiences with my glasses, so perhaps this was just a bad day.
