I purchased TurboTax online at the Costco site and downloaded it on my computer, just as I have done for years. I always expect a few minor updates throughout the tax season but what is surprising this year is that an entire section pertaining to retirement earnings is still not available. This is a TurboTax problem but Costco needs to be aware that they are selling a product that was not ready to be released to the public and certainly should not put on the market so far this year. read more

Man shopping at its best! And grab a $1.50 dog & soda. It is always busy during the season but the Costco staff are so fast and friendly to get you through faster than the slow lines and poor service at Sam's Club (although I would rather get gas at Sam's). Our van parked in the lot near the Costco garage was caught on a grate on the side walk. We went to the garage to ask for help and Richard C came out to assist us instantly. I use the self check out for 2reasons. It is faster. I usually don't have more than 5 items. A couple weeks ago my sister and I went to the self check and a woman monitoring the line told me they had changed the "system" of checking out. She would scan each item and then I could just scan my card and pay at the register. However, we would not be allowed to check out there because we were using the same cart. I removed my three items and said we would be separate. The woman told me that carrying my own purchases would not be allowed and that we would have to go to a regular line. I told that I had my purchases in my arms and that it was allowed. I then proceeded to have another employee scan my purchases and made my way to the check out to scan my card. As soon as I headed for the register the woman started screaming, "Ma'am! Ma'am! By the time I realized she was screaming at me, there were several other employees surrounding me until the man who had scanned my purchases assured them that I had already been scanned. I don't appreciate being treated like a criminal when I go to a store. My next trip was the Costco on 111. Pre scanning was optional. No issues. I suggest 1) screening potential employees. 2) initiate a scan and go system like at Sam's Club where people can check out their purchases with their phones and then exit under the device that scans carts for items that weren't paid for. read more

Came here for gas. Like many Costco's this area is quite a mess. Traffic was backed up getting into it, once you got in several of the pumps were not working and there were only 2 pumps (vs 3 like many costcos or some even have 4). It took a while to get gas as we got fed into the line where only one pump was working. Getting out of this parking lot was a nightmare. People cutting through cars, not looking where they were going, the fire truck, ambulance were onsite and it was very busy. Not sure if this is how it is all the time or if it just before the holiday that it is like this. read more

My recent tire center experience was very disappointing. I received no less than 4 notifications that the tires I ordered had arrived and were ready to install. I made an appointment online and showed up at the designated time and after 45 minutes had passed I was advised that they had "lost" one of the tires but would order a replacement. I was there for over 2 hours and had to return another day to have the 4th tire installed. It's an hour drive for me (round-trip), so this consumed a total of 5 hours of my time. I don't plan to purchase tires from Costco in the future. Other companies will match their price and free maintenance and are WAY more respectful of the customer's time. read more

I love Costco. So many bargains. I bought my gas there yesterday, and paid eight cents a gallon less than I pay at my regular station. I accidently took a shower smile wearing my hearing aids. I took them here and they dried them for me. Now they are cleaner than ever. I bought my prescription glasses here and saved a bundle. I love their bbq chicken. The food court is wonderful. Usually I have a great experience at Costco. I've been a member since PriceClub of the 1980s. However, my recent meat purchase was not up to expectations. I saw that many of the steaks seemed to be cut on the bias with one side much thicker than the other, this included the package of USDA prime rib eyes that I purchased, but did not notice the miscut until I got home. The meat hat been packed in the styroform tray so that the thin edge was supported by the edge of the tray, thus hiding the poor cut. I happened to be in Ralph's grocery store, and wadered by their meat counter. Theri prime steaks looked far superior to the ones af Costco, for not much more. read more

Recently bought a sofa using Costco card and Costco shop card. I returned it the same day I had another, different one delivered. They did not credit the shop card to the new purchase and I had to return the NEW sofa and order the exact same one to get them to allow me to use the sop card!!! How absolutely stupid and wasteful are they! They could do a transaction now returning it on paper and reringing it using the shop card instead of wasting a perfectly good couch because theiir systems are so old. The supervisor on Costco .com told me they are not up with the times. They obviously don't care about wasting time, gas, labor, merchandise to make a customer happy. I have been a member since 1986. This is an all time low and disappointing situation. I will spend my day off returning my new sofa to get the exact same one so I could use my shop card. How assinine!!! Come on Costco!!! Horrible horrible place to eat there food they don't clean up food court tables at all and the some of the workers discriminate and disabled people like me when I'm in a wheelchair kicking me when I'm out of there whatever just don't go there make sure your friends come and change out your memberships and don't go there anymore. ANDREW, the angry and disgruntled employee working the register at the Food Court was so confrontational and borderline violent that my sister and I left feeling unsafe and very unsettled. Upon taking our order, Andrew was very disrespectful and literally yelled at us to "Hurry Up" when we had just stood in line and we're still looking up at the menu. I kindly told him we were not ready to order yet and if he could just give us a couple more seconds to look over the menu. I also immediately asked him why he was being so disrespectful towards me and my sister, and he replied with "You're a white guy thinking you can just come in here and talk down to the employees working behind the counter." I apologized if he perceived me and my sister for being rude for requesting more time to look at the menu and insisted it wasn't personal. I asked for his name so I could file a complaint in regards to his behavior and he progressively got more aggressive and confrontational and I felt as if a physical altercation was going to happen. I am a paying Member at Costco and I wanted to sign my sister up for a Membership as well that day. But after the altercation with ANDREW at the Food Court, I no longer felt safe recommending a membership here unfortunately. read more

Pharmacy This is one of the most unfriendly and unprofessional pharmacies. They said they texted me with an action required which is why the script was not filled. The text had zero action items but a link to a site and when I entered my info it did not recognize me. I love they are trying to be tech forward but an epic fail. Sitting here 45 minutes later still no script, the staff are all rude and the pharmacist's seem to hate their job as much as I love the inefficiency of coming here. read more

This is a great Costco, but know that my experience at Costco's is limited to about four different locations. When I'm out and about I don't always go to Costco, although I will always seek them out for gas, but on this trip it was about wine. This Costco has a great selection of wine, and I always enjoy their variety. I do wonder, from time to time, if it's because I'm in a different state? I live in Nevada and our selection seems limited compared to what they have here. This location is near Palm Springs in the heart of the Coachella Valley, and so they probably have a very different clientele than we have in Nevada, thus the demand for greater demand and an apparently higher end price point. If, like me, you're traveling through the area, check out the variety and prices of the wine they've got there, it's worth dodging the crowd for. read more

Don't forget the 499 cent roasted chicken & gross of toilet paper. I wish they'd work on the prices and offer more good deals along with the gas pumps. They should take MasterCard and electric card scan at the gas stations. Tech up bros. You accept digital wallet on a smart phone. Important point to make, this Dinah Shore Rancho Mirage store relies on manual laborers to collect all those oversized trolleys instead of having motorized pushes for the guys to use to collect each and everyone strewn about the acres of black topped parking lots. Even in the blazing heat when a infrared thermometer hits 140 degrees!! Sad. Two stars. All the employees inside the store in the air conditioning are smiling ear to ear while these guys don't have water provided. Twenty five cents at a machine (inside.) Epic fail. Perhaps I'll drive a few miles further to the location close to the illustrious Rancho Mirage desert shop. Stopped in on a Saturday and it was not as crazy busy as I thought it would be (used to that back home). Was shopping for a tablet and other necessities. Tablet ended up not being in stock although they had plenty of those cardboard "thingies" that you take up front to pay for and pick up on your way out. Told the employee that it was misleading as none of those cardboards should be displayed as it was a hassle to pay for the tablet and then upon pick up not available. read more

Most of the time ... costo is great.... HOWEVER.... just the other day I called ahead to the TIRE CENTER and asked if they would repair a slow leak on a tire on my old pickup. ( 1960 ). They said yes. Age of vehicle doesn't matter, simple 5 lug nuts. When I went in the rep said the truck was too old..!?!?! Never heard of this before ...I asked why does it matter if the age of body..? There is no difference than any other lug nut. Then he said... " I would need the torque specifications...! You would think the tire shop would know this. But I couldn't help but laugh to myself, so I said OK here let me give them to you ( easy to look up ) and he said NO.....I need official torque specifications from the manufacturer." COSTCO PD/LQ NO LONGER TRYING TO OFFER COMPETITIVE GAS PRICES I've been a Costco member since it was called Price Club. (40 yrs?) For decades Costco seemed to have the lowest gas prices. Since COVID, it seems this has changed for the Desert Costcos at least. Costco gas prices were like their $1.50 hot dog $5 rotisserie chicken. Those things brought you into the store. Costco has chosen the worst time to change their pricing strategy. It's doing this while people are hurting. We need lower gas prices more than we need cheap hot dogs. I've observed for the past several months that I no longer buy gas at Costco, and I downgraded my membership. This means I make less trips to Costco where I spend 200-300 at a time. Costco's genius marketing team has taken membership a bit too far. I read about them cracking down on people sharing memberships (which IMO seems a bit dumb- they were still having sales no matter who's card it was.) Today I went to check out at Costco with my family, we were all from the same house and all had our own membership cards. We wanted to split the bill and the cashier refused to do it. We were told the exact groceries being paid for have to go exactly to the card holder. Total idiotic behavior Costco! So instead of Costco making $150 from me. The order was voided and we all cancelled our membership. There are way too many stores out there that will be accomodating to the customers. I guess they just don't get it. Getting there: Located off the 10 fwy, off the Dinah Shore exit. This parking lot seems really tight and since it's Costco it's always crowded. I usually opt for parking that's further from the exit to prevent door dings and what not. Experience: Given I only have to make the trip about once a month, I would have to say I like this Costco better than others. Compared to other stores, this one isn't nearly as crowded inside and I feel like they have some of the better deals I've seen. read more

Horrible customer service ever let me tell you it's Mother's Day and it's not packed at all but with some patiently cashier they have all rushing and not having the patience with customers they are losing a other customer and member. Lady in guest service with long beautiful black her she's so sweet and has a wonderful customer service. But unfortunately I canceled my membership and with say with Sam's Club better customer service and not picky with the payment method that has to be the membership.
