This place is my preferred Costco in the Coachella valley . It is very busy ! Almost always , so some down sides are long lines and finding parking. I have been to nicer stores but overall this one does an good job and the staff is helpful. I visit here about every other week and they have some really good products that I love. This is a good place to get organic eggs . You can get excellent prices on berries. The wine and alcohol section is worth the trip alone especially if you are planning on having a party, you can save a lot of money and get some good stuff. read more

Having warranty problems with the ICON golf cart (Feb 2023) I purchased from Costco Palm Desert. I have tried 3 times now with the Vendor (ICON) and their building on Beacon Hill is closed. The only person there is Arnold and he is a loser. I am going to try and return the cart due to dealing with warranty is a real pain. My beef is with ICON, but I paid Costco in full - so they promoted ICON, so in my mind - they are also liable. read more

Well, this is my go-to Costco in Palm Desert. I visit this location every six to seven weeks to load up on the usual items that I consider must-haves (coffee pods, detergents, paper products, spirits, wines, and the fuel fill-up for the motorized chariot). Costco fuel is always the lowest price in the area. Once in a while, I will deviate from the usual and add a large Costco pizza, or their great tasting rotisserie chicken. At only $4.99 for the prepared chicken, it's an awesome value. In case you need assistance, the employees are ready to help. During the heavy travel season in the Coachella Valley (Thanksgiving through early May), Costco is always busy. The huge parking lot is jam packed, each fuel station queue is a dozen cars deep, and the store is crowded with Costco members struggling to maneuver their jumbo carts around the wide aisles. You do need your strength and your bowl of Wheaties to successfully get through the shopping experience in the high season. During the pre-pandemic 2020 era, a member could hit every sample kiosk for a satisfying appetizer session just prior to lunch or dinner. The snack bar line is at least a 15 to 20 minute wait to reach the order counter during peak times. All my experiences here have all been positive and with my last few visits, they wipe down everything after a customer leaves. My las visit, there were no lines and everything in stock. Was in and out really quick. Their registers have been separated with plexiglass partitions, so theres plenty of space. Lots off good wines to try, quick prep appetizers and meals available, and fresh fruits, and avocados (they'll need to ripen for at least 3 days but more like 5 days for guac or toast.) Cheeses are good, too. Ground beef is cheap at around $4.20/lb.. Gas at about the same price, too. Lots of Christmas toys are still available. It's a decent Costco. I came here for household items since I relocated out to the desert. I found lots of great things at Costco and the deals are un-beatable for bulk. The only thing I didn't do was try the food court. I wish I did. That's on my list to try the food court. I want to try the açaí bowl and the salad with vegan meat. Overall the store was clean and customer service was good as well. There's plenty of parking around this location. It does tend to get pretty crowded, especially on weekends. 30 years ago Costco was considered the $100 discount store. Everything was bought in bulk, something we were not accustomed to, but we continued to shop there. I believe the cost of hot dogs were the same price as today's price. As years passed and as our children grew older so did the prices at Costco. Instead of the $100 club, it became the $200 club. Did we stop going there, heck no. Now we can rent cars through Costco, order tons of pizza for parties, and stay healthy with all their low cost health products. What more can I say? Worst experience I have ever had at a Costco. I was treated with such disrespect. Julie was the worst cashier I have ever met. It was after 1 pm on 11/7/23. She had the energy of being rather snobbish to begin with. She had a problem with me and my partner each paying for half of our order each. We are in the same household and each have a Costco card. So not sure why she had a problem with us paying. If she is getting some kind of bad information from corporate, then they have a bigger problem than just this bad cashier. I will not be back. I demanded that my membership be cancelled, and I will be contacting not just corporate but also the board of directors. Next Julie called over what was supposed to be a manager, her name is Claudia, and she did nothing but escalate the situation until I was even more upset that we simply just couldn't pay for our food and leave. Instead she got snotty and cancelled our order. Another reason I will not be back. I will not be treated so poorly when I am spending hundreds of dollars and often. So next I went over to try and get a real manager and I got Brad and to be quite honest, he didn't care about how poorly we were treated either. I know I did nothing wrong as they sold me the membership with two cards to be used in my household and yet they won't let us use them??? Again, horrible poor service all the way around and so glad I walked out with all my cash and my membership cancelled. I hope others will consider closing down their memberships too and make a stand if you are mistreated too. Update: Costco had someone call me and they offered me nothing. Said they were going to talk to the employees, but I would bet that will do absolutely no good as they need to have corporate change their ways and how they are telling their employees to crack down on card sharing. Went back again. Talked to Lilly (mgr?) last time about overall boorishness and cavalier rudeness of most cashiers here. She said she would have a meeting and discuss proper protocol with cashiers. Let me state that the friendliness of gatekeeper and the door checkers is always noticeable. Cashier, this time, like the other one last time, too busy gabbing with other employees. No greeting, no "Hello, sir, did you find everything." And after paying, no "Thank you". Of course, good etiquette is no longer expected from career cashier scanners. Gauche is the word. Walked entire store trying to find help to find dog food section. Not one employee other than vendors. They're definitely cutting back on employees because they were only four cashiers open, five carts deep, and no one in the merchandise aisles to help you whatsoever, other than vendors and food sampler people. I read a few cutrent reports online that Costco is suffering in sales. I started buying most of my higher and wine at Total Wine because they have better prices and a good rewards program. There is no rewards program at Costco. And other than the gas the overall savings just aren't there. A simple way to improve sales is to provide better training for customer service. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience at this Costco yesterday. The young woman, checking membership at the Door stopped me and my psychiatric support animal in a stroller and questioned what service the dog provided for me. When I told her Kiki helped me not having anxiety attacks she told me that wasn't good enough and made Me leave. I felt humiliated and shamed. I have frequented many Costcos over the course of the last two decades. This Costco in Palm Desert, CA is the absolute worst in the United States I would confidently state. 1. Plenty of staff standing around yet doing little to nothing. 2. Poor quality of vegetables and fruit. 3. Expired dairy products. 4. Several freezers and refrigerators not functioning for months on end. 5. Stark price increases. 6. Quantity of products has been decreasing. 7. Inconsistent products available. What the store manager wants is what you get. It was here last month but not now. Why? 8. Where's the beef? Slim picking of steaks and outrageous prices. This Costco has gone down hill. We have been coming to this Costco the last few years. It truly is one of my favorites ( besides Maui). It is clean, and the selection of things to buy is wonderful. There are things that can be purchased here that I never see at our local Costco in Northern California. This Costco is another level. We had a blast stocking up on a variety things for our vacation (and more). It was refreshing to not just have the basics. We found Fresh Ceviche, Lamb Chops heat and eat, Stuffed Cabbage, Salmon marinated In bourbon, and Pierogi to name a few. The only thing I was a bit taken back about was the lack of wipes or cleaner for the carts out front. There is a row of "sanitized" carts. However, I got paper towels out of the restroom, and soaked it with the hand sanitizer they had, and wiped the cart myself. Towel did NOT wipe clean. I want to Thank the kind employees who work so hard during this difficult time. The Essential Worker has had no rest at home during the pandemic. I went to Optical, I took a number,there were 15 customers ahead of me, after waiting 45 min, I learned that to adjust my glasses I didn't need a number, I needed to stand in another line for 30 min! I think this is the only COSTCO location that I have not had a bad experience at the gas pumps. Its designed in a way that allows a good flow of traffic both into the station and out of the parking lot. I wish it were this easy at the other locations. The only problem where is that the parcel they are on is below the street grade and its a task getting back to the main road with the amount of traffic here. read more

Been to this Costco a couple of times. In all instances the employees were nice and had a smile. Unfortunately, Don't experience this much at my local costco. Took a return recently, and Michael was scanning the shoes I wanted to return...the only problem is I forgot that I bought them at Sams club. I have both memberships. Even when I realized of the mistake, Michael still wanted to make sure it was infact not a costco item and thoroughly checked. Best customer service experience from Michael!
