Costco are identical in all the basic things in any area you go to. I avoid this location at all costs because it is beyond full. It feels like an ant race to find parking, your items, and getting in and out of the building and parking lot. The warehouse has everything your used to seeing. Customer service on the multiple visits I've been there has been nonexistent. Only interaction you have with anyone is if you pay with a cashier. If not self-checkout is the way to go. Zero interactions. In and out. Easy. This visit I had to come in for some essentials and got everything I needed. Went up to self checkout scanned my SO card (mind you he is on my account) and the worker comes up scans my big items and asks who's card are you using? I said my SO he says YOU CANT DO THAT THEY ARE VERY STRICT ABOUT THIS. He says who else is on the account I say ME I'm the account holder. He says next time go to the front if you forget your card and get a day pass. Annoyed by the interaction I grabbed my stuff and head out. This interaction could of gone way differently. Don't embarrass me with that nonsense while I'm paying. Costco headquarters when you read this take time to review your protocol. I lost my CC and it locked out my membership card as stolen which it was not. Figure out a way to add all those allowed to use the card on both cards. This is ridiculous and a waste of time specially since I pay the annual fee to buy at your warehouse and gas etc. read more

Strange self check out staff with glasses lied twice for no reason. I forgot my receipt at self checkout and back in a minute. Then the lady who was using that self checkout machine told me that the dude took my receipt. I asked him but he denied and then the fellow employee at help desk asked him again and still lied. Everyone is going to have something negative to say. Yes, they will be out of things, it's Costco. Yes, they will have long waits it's Costco, and yes things are not perfect it is the busiest of all the South Bay locations. They do door counts and if you ever heard them come over their radios they are high. So they are busy. But with that said they are also not normal layout for Costco. This location used to be a tampon factory so it's not like all the other Costcos. The layout is different and can be very frustrating to your regular shopper. Just keep that in mind when you are coming to this store. I feel once the Saratoga location is open the business will change dramatically. read more

This is the location to find the best selection of South Asian / Indian products. You'll find a HUGE selection of mithai / sweets / gift boxes before Diwali (things like gulab jamun, rasmalai, milk cake, kaju roll, soan cake, etc). Some other things you'll find include paneer (plain and sometimes saag paneer), Indian ready-to-eat meals (such as Sukhi's Chicken Tikki Masala, Tasty Bite Madras Lentils), crunchy snacks (milk rusk, khatta meetha, masala munch, masala mix, masala noodles, peanut chikki) , roti , samosas, dried lentils & beans, mango pulp, masala chai tea latte. This location makes the other Costco warehouse locations (except maybe Fremont) seem lacking in Indian food selection. Even my Indian friend, who lives closer to San Francisco, has to make the trek to Sunnyvale to find Indian foods because her closest Costco locations don't stock nearly as many items. Some downsides to the Sunnyvale location is the poor cheese and wine selection. It's a small wine dept due to lack of floor space compared to other locations. Most of the cheeses stocked here are the pedestrian staples that you find in most other stores. They rarely stock more artisan or higher end cheeses. I have to go to other nearby Costco warehouses for a better cheese selection. I guess the demographics of the shoppers here don't appreciate good cheese. This location also has a slim selection of alternative milks. You'll find a larger selection of Almond / Soy / Oat milks in other Costcos. Location here is small. Example is seeing 1 (maybe 2) boxes of Squishmallows, while other locations have 4 or more boxes on their floor. I would normally rate this 1 stars for being the most unpleasant Costco to visit. Costco Sunnyvale is a small warehouse with cramped aisles. Parking lot is a nightmare. The people who shop here are rude and have no regard for other shoppers. There was one visit where I parked my cart off to the side to avoid blocking the aisle. While looking at products in that aisle, someone removed/dumped the few items from my cart in order to take my cart because they couldn't be bothered to go get their own cart. Yes, people here will steal your cart. So rude! I've never had this happen to me at any other Costco. Customers here also bring their entire multi generational family and walk multi-person "wide" to create maximum blockage of the aisle so no other customers can easily get past them. They leave their carts smack in the middle of the aisle when they stop to look at something, with absolutely no consideration for other shoppers. Many don't even bother to push their cart to the side to allow space for other customers to pass. And they ignore you when you politely say, "Excuse me." There was even one visit (pre-pandemic) when people were huddled around one of the samples stations set up in the back (by the Bakery / Meat area). Some carts were parked on the side closest to the samples and other carts were parked at the opposite side of the aisle from the samples table. That was fine since other customers could still pass with their carts through the center of the aisle... until one newly arrived entitled customer decided to park their cart right in the middle of the aisle , completely blocking any through traffic. Apparently their need for a sample was greater than exhibiting common courtesy. This is a quintessential example of the type of mercenary customers who shop at this location, and it is very frustrating for the few of us who are accustomed to more civilized behavior. However I feel I must bump this up to 2 stars due to some improvements in recent years. They have expanded the gas station so it now offers 30 bumps (10 lanes ; 3 pumps in each lane). This greatly improved the gridlock in the parking lot. The line can still back up into to parked cars area, but it is nowhere near as bad as it used to be before the renovation. They have renovated the back end, by the meat / rotisserie chicken / bakery area. And most recently, they expanded the parking lot on the Kifer side (when Sweet Tomatoes restaurant closed). The parking spots in the newly expanded area are wider than in the older part of the lot. The downside is that there is only one cart return on the "far" end by Kifer so most of the lazy shoppers don't want to push their carts over there. Instead, they leave their carts near their parked car, or they pile them up along the pedestrian walkway area (forcing pedestrians to walk in the area where the cars drive). Costco is still a great place to pick up $1.50 hot dogs from the food court (although I miss the Polish Hot Dogs); these hot dogs have been a buck fifty for decades. And the Food Court at this location is conveniently located outside, so it is easily accessible to non-members. And you really can't beat their $4.99 rotisserie chicken. Rich, the gentleman who checks receipts at the exit (in the mornings), is always a delight; he is very personable and always cheerful. Please clone him. read more

This Costco tends to be very busy, but the selection of products is pretty good. Food court is outside to the left of the main entrance, which is situated on a raised platform that you have to climb a few steps to get to (this is the first Costco I've seen with something like this). Ultimately, the main reason to come here is for the gas, which is usually cheaper than all other Costcos in the area. read more

At Costco during the Coronavirus pandemic! Don't normally shop Costco except late weekday afternoons to get the $5 48 ounce rotisserie chicken for dinner. Have come here on weekends at 9am when they open with no problems with congestion. The coronavirus pandemic has changed everything. 930am Saturday morning drove completely around the huge block long warehouse looking for parking. Found some, but right by the Costco gas station, a place you will be trapped once the traffic lines build up for gas. No gas line today, as nobody is here for gas. Got a shopping cart and joined the line of people entering, when someone tapped my shoulder, pointing to the end of the line 100 yards back. First time ever that I had to wait in a long line to enter Costco. Got the usual stuff, 2 gallons of milk for $5.79, and the $4.99 48 ounce rotisserie chicken, along with lots of stuff on sale, including a 64 ounce of dried cranberries, normally $9, on sale for $5. Saw some people have Clorox disinfecting wipes in 5 individual cylinders. Ask for directions, and navigated to the farthest reaches of the giant warehouse. Just like in stores where they store the milk and eggs farthest from the entrance, to make you walk through the entire store. Everyone else doing the same thing, and I kick, shove my way through, stepping on toes. No, not really, but my ex wife would. A forklift brought in a pallet of Clorox disinfecting wraps, five cylinders per package, limited to one package per customer. The pallet of several hundred packages were sold out in minutes! They had packages of a dozen paper towels, also limited one per customer, but I passed on that. Did see at least one guy in line with two big packages of paper towels. Face masks, spray or liquid hand disinfectant? Sold out 6 weeks ago, no thanks to profiteers, who cleaned out the existing supplies, amassing stockpiles of hand sanitizer and crucial respirator masks, for resale on the internet at exorbitant prices. And I did not see any shopping carts with toilet paper. Get out of there about 40 minutes after arriving. Meanwhile line to get into the store now stretches a good 300 yards around the building. Person in the checkout line told me that some people started lining up at 6am, 3 hours before they open. Panic buying in anticipation of product shortages, self-isolations, lockdowns and quarantines in the coronavirus pandemic. Just heard that Costco will open 8am-10am Tuesdays and Thursdays for customers age 60+, starting March 24. Why isn't it 65+ like everywhere else? No wonder the lines are so long. Santa Clara County with 302 coronavirus cases on March 22, compared to 14 on March 6, the epicenter of such cases in CA. 6 counties in the Bay Area- 7 million people- ordered shelter in place. All nonessential businesses closed. Supermarkets, including Costco exempted. Old farts like me risking their lives standing in line! read more

If we had Yelp 30 years ago... the complaints I'm about to share are the same issues we had as far back as 1995! Here's the thing... The Parking is horrible. It feels super jam packed! To make matters worse, everyone seems like they're in a rush. So there's this sense of get in, get out and f' everyone in my way lol. I remember eating in the outdoor food court when these two cars almost hit each other. Honking erupted and the 2 drivers went at it right below the food court and by the ramp! Getting in, getting out is such a headache and it always feels like it's so busy. We drove into the Sunnyvale location at 10am this morning, we usually avoid the Sunnyvale Costco at all Costs but y'all had the cheapest gas in our area of Costco's and drove from Milpitas to get here. We wanted to get in and out quick... WHY'S IT SO BUSY RIGHT NOW!? Getting gas was a grueling 15 minute wait that by the time we decided to go in we left and went to the Coleman location. So yea, as far as the inside goes, it's alright. The parking lot, that's my main issue. I shared my views on a Costco Group in social media and asked where's the worse Costco they've been to and... you guessed it. Sunnyvale! I don't even have any issues with the employees, it's how crappy the parking lot is after 30 years of going there lol. read more

One of the busiest Costco I have ever been to. Parking lot is always packed, lines are always long. The good thing is there are some good deals here, prices are okay, and gas prices is the best around even compared to other Costco gasolines. Pet aisle selection is limited and less than other Costco in the area. There is a good amount of Asian stuff to cater to the area. Food court area is outdoors in the open so you will need to conquer whatever weather it may be hot or wet. Overall, I'm glad there is a Costco here regardless because there isn't another Costco gas north of here for a while until rwc. read more

The service here was not up to standard Costco. first off the food court/service. There is no place for shade or anything, and not even from a customer point of view but the poor employees as well have to be hit by the sun the entire 2nd half of the day, no shade even attempted to be installed by management. The drinks were all watered down by the soda machine. The service staff in the food court was great, they were being proficient through such a rush. However, our issues came when we tried to get a refund for a pizza we no longer wanted because of the wait time. When we went to customer service and talked with JC, his lack of professionalism in a business place was uncanny to where we had to tell him to please relax. Very unprofessional and would hope for better results in the future. To hopefully management at Costco. Please add some sort of shade to the food court area. This store has a big management problem. Other stores have eggs, the market is not short of eggs, and the price is gradually falling, but when I went to this store recently, the eggs were sold out twice in a row. This has never happened even during the epidemic! Shouldn't such service and management be blamed? Most of our customers do not live nearby and only come once every few weeks, but they can't buy eggs that are necessary for their daily life. They can only buy them from other stores, which is very inconvenient. What are the managers of this store doing? Either they are derelict in their duties, or they are deliberately creating panic! I don't see why people should be feeling icky about this place. This is your generic Costco, there is nothing to worry about. Costco Sunnyvale is my second go to Costco especially if I need to get some petrol for my mum's car. It's either this one or Almaden Costco. It's interesting how a great majority of appliances and tools I bought are from here and they are still in their top quality. On Saturdays past 2/2022, this Costco feel like the Tigard location crammed full of people that you will see a shopping cart traffic jam. Got some good deals on food here. Drawback: Parking can be very tough to find unlike other branches because the lot size is very small. Some people can be very crazy in these areas. I once had to deal with a senior citizen who backed into my car. He then claimed it was his last day driving. If you park the very front lot then you will suffer greatly. If you drive a sedan, please park in the place where SUVs and Pickup trucks don't fit, yes you can find it. read more

Parking is a hassle with smaller parking lots comparing to other locations. Entrance is not on ground level. When waking into the store financing the entrance, and people are exiting the right side and entrance is on the left side(not a big deal just thought that was a little awkward since we drive in the right side unlike the Europeans). I had to return my kids winter outfits that the didn't fit into, but I procrastinated. At the return counter, staff asked me for receipt . I said it's been a few months I don't have it. She continued and asked me to look into my app/ email for ordering number. I said, it's on my Costco card. She was trying to make me do the work, insisted having me to search for ordering number instead of looking it up in their system. I spent a few minutes trying to go through emails and orders on my Costco app. I was frustrated while I was searching, she ended up finding it on their system faster than me searching on my app and going through my emails. At the end, after my return was processed, she again, advised me to have my order number ready for future returns. Since when you have to have receipt nowadays to make a return at Costco? I wasn't please with her customer service, I held my comments and walked away. Will avoid as much as possible in the future. read more

I mean every Costco is pretty much the same so this one isn't really any better or worse compared to other Costcos. I've been going here my entire life and it always gets the job done. It gets quite crowded especially on weekends so just be aware. The parking lot is a bit of a struggle because there's so many people walking and so many cars looking for spots so be patient. The staff here are usually friendly and helpful. It's a great place to get bulk groceries and snacks at a great cost. At this location the food court is outside which is nice if you don't have a membership card. Their food is pretty good especially their pizza, hot dogs, and chicken bakes. They don't have their combination pizza anymore which is disappointing. I also like their cheap gas but theres always a long line. read more

Costco is like a tourist attraction when you for grocery shopping, and is always one of the best places to check out. With that said, this Costco is a bar below what I would normally expect from Costco-- not all within Costco's control though. First, this place is bustling and can be tricky to find parking. What makes this so challenging is that people queue to fill up gas in the parking aisles, so there is a congestion to be able to park, get out, or queue for gas. Second weirdest thing about the store is that it has a weird L-shaped area in the back right that opens up with the snacks, beverages, etc. Cheap gas is a huge plus, but the line can be quite slow. Also some people come in from the side and try to cut in near the front of the line. read more

Usually come here in evenings on weekdays, but sometimes Sat mornings. Rare to have a not busy time. Yes lots of people, yes tough to park, but if you expect the worse, things can only get better, right? Have a few items we always get like eggs. Price and quality are decent. Just recently started getting gas here. So after I stopped in for about 15 items, I got gas. Only had to wait 5 min at checkout, 1 min to pickup pizza and about 8 min for gas. not sure why this costco or any costco gets bad reviews, but you need to learn to navigate their locations during busy hours. this location in particular is terrible to park at if you take the entrance closest to Lawrence. you need to drive a little bit further to the light and enter from across the Apartments. I've seen it it all here from the crazies who wait in gas lines to only pump $6 dollars into their beat up car to the ignorant people who decide to wait for someone to pull out from a parking space holding up 30 cars behind them going out to Lawrence. The key is to find a time when it's not as busy (or when less crazies show up). read more

So I took my car there at 10:47am and was told 2 hours to get my tires done. Came back in 2 hours and my car was in the same place with my old tires. So I wasted 2 hours to get a refund because I had to be some where by 1:30pm. I don't recommend getting your tires done here. They don't know what they are doing. I was really pissed off that this happened. Oh and my refund was cash because for some reason this huge corporation doesn't know how to put your money back on your card. read more

This Costo has great employees, always willing to help. Just one time I was double charged for a return item, and had to go through a huge hassle of speaking with the manager. They have a good product variety. They've recently change their food court orders to self-order on the screen pads. I try to avoid peak hours and the weekend crowd, since customers get really aggressive. I've almost gotten hit by impatient drivers in the parking lot. Make sure you honk if someone is about to hit you, because they probably will. Be respectful, be kind and you will make it out of there without a headache or injury (from someone hitting the cart into your ankle). read more

I have been frequenting Costco Lawrnece for several years now and have been patient with the parking difficulty and long line in the register. But what really turned me off today was a PM Merchandiser named Sophia (based on her badge), who stopped me from checking the sizes and the style of the merchandise and said, "you are messing the clothes! ". she further added, "it is not just me who get frustrated by customers who mess up the clothes but everyone else as well in the clothes section". So I asked if we are not allowed at all to check the style of the merchandise, the sizes and if we are just supposed to just stand in front of the clothes." I decided to report the incident to a supervisor and when I told Sophia her rudeness was reported, she arrogantly and sarcastically said, "I'm happy for you!" I continued to observe her and how she talks to the other customers and noticed she does the same thing. So the customers just move to the other merchandise after she prevents them from even checking the merchandise assigned to her. I hope Costco will do something about this employee. My go-to Costco location! Definitely try to go on a weekday since it gets too crowded for my comfortability on the weekends (no one social distances). Workers are generally pretty helpful and nice here. The lines go by pretty fast, and it helps that they have a lot of self-check out kiosks. Food court is located outside, so you won't need a membership to get your hotdog / pizza fix! read more

Large but very busy Costco, especially during the weekends. A few months ago, I bought some delicious snow crab legs here for roughly $10-12 per pound so thought of doing the same 10 days ago, but to my horror, they're now $42.99 per pound! I checked the labels (see photo) and noticed that they were mislabeled as "red king crab" legs which explains the 400% increase in price per pound! Snow crabs are quite different and much less expensive compared to king crabs. I spoke with the manager there but he insisted that the labels were correct and that these were indeed king crabs. What can I say, so I had to give these a miss... :( I hope they correct the labels (and prices) soon (but as of May 5, 2024, they're still incorrectly labeled). read more

Was here on Tuesday mid-morning in the returns line. The return line was mostly elderly people and workers kept yelling for everyone to stay against the wall as much as possible. An older lady who obviously would move a little slower, didn't move her cart fast enough for the employees liking I guess so he threw her cart out of the way for her without uttering a word of apology or anything. The guy who was working this shift that did this was tall, wider, with glasses who looks like Bubble Bass from SpongeBob & had the worst attitude. He was really mean and disrespectful to customers, honestly he should not continue working here with that attitude. read more

This review is for the vendor woman who was showcasing wines in front of the wine isle! One of my college friend saw me and of course I immediately said omg hi! My boyfriend noticed me saying hi and he pushed his cart to the side of the table that was showcasing wine, a Caucasian woman with blonde hair approached my boyfriend and asked if he needed anything, my bf said no I'm waiting for my gf over there. Which I was six feet away from him (literally) the woman huffed and said, well since you're not going to get anything you need to move your cart! She went to his cart and pushed it out of the way and walked away from him. My boyfriend was pissed off that he walked away without properly saying hi to my friend right away. Luckily when we were finished talking he came back and was able to say hi to my friend. She was extremely rude and didn't nicely asked my man if he can move the cart, she physically moved the cart and walked away from my bf. read more

The fruits are fresh , but expensive and a lot. Apart from green vegetables and fruits one can buy dry fruits from here. They sell best quality pistachio, cranberries and other items. Most of the grocery items like Indian flours, lentils, oil, Noodles, Bread, Honey, Dates, Peanuts, Sugar, Salt, Fruit Juice, Meat, Grapes, Mangoes etc can be found here. Shopping at Costco it's wise to read the ads beforehand and plan on stocking up because the time spent parking and leaving the lot adds an hour to your shopping spree. So make it worthwhile, and save time, by shopping there either before midday or during the last hour before closing. This Costco has always been an OK place to go. Busy on the weekends to the point that for years I avoid going on Saturdays or Sundays. This Costco normally has a good selection of bulk wares. There is a Costco Gas at this location that is normally busy, but traffic flows once you get out of the parking lot area, and in line for gas. read more

They're more harmful than they are helpful. They create a giant roadblock in the middle of the aisle.
