I placed an order for two tires that needed to be replaced on my vehicle. The tires arrived quicker than expected, and someone called me promptly to schedule an appointment for the following week. On the day of my appointment, I arrived about 10 minutes early to check in and drop off my vehicle. I was told the service would take about an hour to an hour and a half. That timing worked for me, so I went to grab something to eat and do some shopping nearby. My vehicle was ready right at the hour-and-a-half mark. However, the very next day, the tire pressure warning light came on, along with a "Service Tire Monitor System" message on my dashboard. One of the newly replaced tires is no longer registering any pressure. I also noticed that my tire valve caps were not put back on. I've been calling multiple times a day, every day, and no one answers the phone! I had to schedule another appointment, and the earliest available time was a week out. How would you rate service if you are told " done in half an hour" 3 times after you've already been waiting for 90 minutes? Yup 3 hours to install new tires at Costco Kapolei, double the estimated time I was told when I checked my car in. What is the point of having an appointment system, service still sucked. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of respect for customers, no clear communication. They plainly don't care about how a situation like this can impact someone... as a parent if I was made aware of a 3 hour wait time from the start I would have made necessary adjustments for my family. I think that's really the part that made me the most upset. There was no apologies for the excessive wait time from anyone that works there...it is what it is attitude. I purchased a set of tires for island beater about a year ago. Have had no complaints. This time I walked in on a Sunday morning after running over a utility knife in the Costco parking lot. I easily ordered my tires on Sunday and made my appointment for Thursday evening. After multiple attempts to get ahold of someone was told my tires were delivered that day and to keep my evening appointment. Mitch and Randall were great accommodating me. Female counter employee checked and answered my inquiry regarding age of the Bridgestone tires before purchasing on 10/23/24. I was assured the Toyota tire sensors (about 2 yrs. old) would not be replaced unless requested. On 10/25, set up appt for 10/29. Advised lug nuts were swollen during installation and declined option of purchasing since I already had 10 lug nuts from Toyota but forgot to bring them. I use genuine Toyota/Denso OEM parts. Rescheduled installation for next day, 10/30. Chad (manager), contacted me advising issue with three tires that had a bump/bulge on the inside (manufacturing defect) and was ordering replacement tires. Glad he caught this before I arrived. Rescheduled for 11/25. Chad explained the issue he found with the defective tires when I arrived, then said it would be about a 1-1/2 hr. wait to complete the installation. An hour later, I missed his call. Upon noticing, quickly finished and paid. Another tech backed my car out so I could load with my purchases and leave. Stay away from this place & listen to all the other bad reviews. I came here because my TPMS in one of my tires died. I was sure of this because I used a scanner & my TPMS light was blinking. I booked an appointment & when I arrived the young boy that checked me in told me they would look at it & give me a call. Not even 30 minutes later he calls me back & tells me that I DO NOT need another sensor because they scanned it & nothing popped up I guess he thought I didn't know anything because I'm a girl LOL. On top of that he says it's because I have a leak that cannot patch because it's too close to the sidewall AND I need 4 brand new tires I took my car to discount tire the next day & had zero problems. Sure enough my TPMS that was dead needed to be replaced & the slow leak was able to be patched. Idk if it's because it was close to closing time that Costco didn't care, whatever it is there's no excuse for the horrible service. Tire installation 15 February 2021 (President's Day) I knew I needed new tires but I'm no professional so I waited til I had my car serviced to have my tires checked by professionals who told me yes, I would need to change my tires soon. That location gave me a quote but suggested that I check Costco first since it may be cheaper, so I did. That same day I went into the nearest Costco and headed straight for their tire center. There was only one person ahead of me on this occasion. They did not have the tire size I needed but informed me that if I ordered online, the tires would be shipped to the Costco Location of my choice and then I'd be notified when the tires arrived so I can schedule installation.  I am a huge procrastinator so it took me a couple days before I eventually went online at Costco.com to check for tires. Luckily for me, Costco had deals on tires that included free shipping *AND* installation included in the price I was paying. That was a $300 difference from what I was quoted at a local dealership/service department. HOW FRIGGING LUCKY AM I? I GUESS PROCRASTINATING IS NOT SO BAD AFTERALL!! :) I placed my order online on 4 February 2021. On 15 February, I received an email notification that my tires were at the local Costco. The email was sent that same day so I decided to go in person since I was off work (& since noone ever answers their phone) to check if any same-day appointments were available. I arrived to the tire center about 11am, I had to wait at least 10 minutes since the employee went to the back to help someone else; the female was busy with another customer. When he came back, he checked my tire order to ensure they were indeed there, and then I was offered a 3pm appointment, which I took. I left, did a few errands, then returned in time for my appointment. When I got back, I turned in my car keys, showed the rep my Costco card, and then spent the next 45 minutes shopping while my tires were being replaced. After shopping, I returned to the tire center; they were not done yet but informed me that my car was almost ready. I probably waited another 10 minutes (they did estimate an hour total to complete). Completed the employee had me check out. I was expecting some additional fees for service or disposing of old tires but there was no additional charges. Yippee!! She handed me my paperwork and I walked outside where I waited a few more minutes before theh pulled my car out (it was still in the bay). Once I was done packing away my items, off I went with my brand new tires! A few days later I noticed the sticker they placed in my windshield. On the sticker it notes the tire pressure but there was also a note that advises drivers to return after driving 25 miles to have the torque rechecked. I didn't know I had to do that since noone notified me. Luckily I read that and returned. I went back inside to the tire center but the female employee told me next time I could just pull up to the bay and informed them why I was there. I have been coming heare for all my tires and automotive battery needs. Ex wcellent r rash services and warranty.a I bought new tires special ordered and it came in. I was told to make appointment for installation online, but lucky for me, they accept walk-in's, on a first come basis. Anyway, I made an appointment online and it was far in advance, so I called and asked if they had openings sooner. They said to bring it in on Sunday at 1pm. Next day, I brought it in early around 1030ish and left my car there. Just before noon, I received a call that my car was ready. I was impressed on the quick turn around. They also have reminders for 25 miles torque check on tires bolts. There's other places to do tires, but Costco is my shop. This isn't my first time here as I've purchased tires from Costco's before. The last time I did, we could walk in and wait. I didn't know the policy changed at Kapolei. It's by appointment only. In any case I came on a Wednesday night not thinking that so would a bunch of other people. Ok not a problem waited about 20 minutes or so then was told "sorry appointments only". Ok, purchased the tires and made an appointment for Friday at 12n. As instructed please check-in 15 minutes prior...got it..see you on Friday. Well...it's Friday I'm here as instructed and there's a line going 5 deep. Nervously checking my watch, I step up to the counter and it's 1222p. It took me 37 minutes waiting in line to drop off my car. I'm not blaming the techs behind the counter at all, I am hoping someone from Costco's management see's this and makes changes to their staffing. I find it really difficult to believe you cannot get more people at the front counter to assist customers more expeditiously. Here's a suggestion: perhaps provide those who have an appointment a designated area to check in so our cars can be worked on. Then maybe add 2 other bodies (1) to check in the customers and another one to go outside to actually check the existing tires on the car? Walked up to inquire about tires. I'm a young ignorant girl who has little knowledge about cars and has never bought tires before; so after some research, Costco seemed like the place to go. When I came up, the employee working the counter was chatting with friends/family. I wasn't in a rush, but neither was he apparently; actually, I felt like I was intruding on their conversation. Another customer came up and cut in front of me to wait by the counter, and I mean whatever lol, he was there to pick up his car anyway. After the employee was done conversing with his family, he helped the guy who went in front of me get his car, and then there was me. We made eye contact and it looked like he was beginning to walk away. Wtf? I had to assert myself to get him to acknowledge me, and I politely asked him if I could buy tires here. "What size." he says, like this was the most annoying question he's ever been asked in his life. In retrospect, my question may have been stupid, but again, I'm ignorant and have no idea what I'm doing since this is my first time buying tires (my bad for not having more experience with this, but how often to people buy tires anyway?) I showed him a screenshot of the tires I was looking for. "You have to buy those online. They're the same price online." Okay? Lol. I don't care about the price, I was just trying to figure out what the process was for buying tires and then scheduling an installation. Every time he answered one of my questions, it was like he was trying to walk away to escape my presence. I guess he had better things to do than to help an idiot like me. I started off to ask more, and then he actually explained what the process was, but his demeanor made it seem like I ruined his entire night by just existing and needing new tires. I needed to fill my tires with nitrogen and were extremely low! So I took my car to Costco, Honolulu tire section and waited behind this guy outside the Bay Area. I didn't know how this work? I watch one of technician come out and fill this guy's tire. So, I waited and waited. The tech had to pull a car out of his bay area and park it outside. It took about 15 minutes before he serviced me. But before the that, a guy pulled up behind me and filled his own tires. As I was about to get out of my car, and the tech asked me why I was there. I said to fill my tires? So, he did. I asked, "Can I fill my tires?" He said, "Yes." I felt bad and proceeded to give him a tip. He refused...nice guy. I normally associate Costco with exceptional customer service, but my 2 experiences with the tire department have shattered those expectations. Don't call, because they will not answer or return your message. When I was there in person, the associate literally just ignored the ringing while he wasn't even with a client. They don't keep most inventory on site, so you will need patience--10 days or more. It's not really an option if you've got an emergency flat. I ended up getting a better price from the dealership (50 bucks less for 1 tire) and the item was available immediately. Today was a good day for a tire rotation! They said 2 -3 hours but they completed it in 90 mins. I was able to shop, granted every isle, while the rotation was being done. Shout out to Samantha who helped me. I had to find my tire lock in my car and she came out to get my keys instead of me having to go back to the shop. Visited the tire center a few days ago because I had a slight leak in my run flat tire. Decided to get some information and spoke with Ranae. She helped us with our situation, taught us about tires, and helped search for possible options. In the end she offered us a quick inspection of our tire that only cost us no more than $11 with taxes. Nathaniel who also worked there offered to bring our car to the bay area and found a mini screw stuck in my tire ultimately saving us $1500 as we were thinking of just buying normal tires to changing out the old run flats. I came in at 941 AM and paid for new tyres. I was told that the job would take 3 to 3 1/2 hours, which would make the time the car was supposed to be ready between 1241 PM and 111 PM, It is now 235 PM and I was just told by the front desk that it will be another 20 minutes before my car is done. That would make the car ready at 255 PM a full 5 hours and 11 minutes just to install new tyres. This is totally unacceptable! read more

But they found a nail and screw in the back of my tires thank goodness they said it's repairable. I wish I caught their names but I was too worried thinking about my tires and the light pressure on. My son and I been driving around with a nail and screw in the tires this whole time Ive been neglecting the light thinking it was just the sensor problem cuz I took it to them the first time they said nothing wrong and second time they found the problem. Took the car rental in to have the tire plugged from a slow leak. Got there at 11:00 am and was told it would take 5 hours and be ready by 4:00 pm. Ran errands and even hung out in Costco for a couple hours and they still hadn't put the car into one of the bays to start the repair. I kept looking into the service area and there seemed to be a lot of standing around and bull shi**ing amongst the workers. Nobody was in a hurry to get anything done. At one point, they told another customer they lost his car keys! Anyway, at 5:30 PM, 6 1/2 hours later, we got our car back!! Will not be coming back anytime soon!! read more

I've had numerous incidents with flat tire, nail in tire, even so bad where I've had to have it replaced but luckily the car warranty they have came in clutch and I didn't pay anything to get a brand new one Yes they are busy, name one Costco that isn't. Yes they may not always answer the phone, but that what the internet self service site is for. They are busy because they have the best pricing and service for what they do... often times when I'm in line I find that it's not the service reps who take long, but the customers weighing their options and asking a million questions the signs or website could've answered prior to them coming in. I went first thing when they opened at 7am to get my tires replaced and was helped by Dominic. Service was quick and efficient he advised me service would take about an 1 hour and 45 minutes and I'd receive a call once my car was ready. True to his word it took exactly 1 hr and 45 minutes, I picked up my car and was quickly on my way... Absolute worst service when i bought the tires they lost my lug locks then when i come back for a flat repair (supposedly fixed) i come back 3 and a half hours later no call mind you. the put 2 new tires on and want me to pay $350 they tell me the tire Is unrepairable (yeah right) gotta wait another 2 hours to get truck back and the couldn't even fix the problem total rip off at least the service was good once upon a time not any more, i ask to speak to the manager and this guy doesn't even look up at me looks at paperwork then tells his employee he cant help stay away, these guys simply don't care sad what things have come to. read more

After my initial visit, I was all set to give 5 stars - due in large part to Justin and the other employees who offered great customer service. I actually came here about 2 years a go when I had a blow-out on the H1 and needed to replace my full spare. I was informed at that time that because my car was an all-wheel drive, they could not legally put on the tire for me unless I bought 4 tires because the uneven wear could cause damage to the axels or something. Okay fine. So I just kept the new tire as a spare. Fast-forward 2 years. Now I DO need 4 new tires in order to pass my vehicle safety inspection. Perfect timing, too, as I was able to take advantage of the Michelin deal: buy 4 Michelin tires, get $100 if you use your Costco Citi Visa card. I came early afternoon on a Friday, thinking I would be in-between the rush. I contemplated making an appointment but I didn't have an issue with timing the first time I had come. Boo. I waited over 3 hours but in their defense, they did warn me it might take that long. Okay, so all the above still would have given them 4-5 stars. Here's where things go downhill: As the technician was reversing my car out of the garage, I noticed the front driver's side tire looked low - at least lower than I normally keep it. I keep my tires at 35 PSI but the mechanic stated they inflate their tires to 30psi. So I attributed the appearance of a low tire to that. Boy was I wrong. By the time I got home to Ewa, it was down to 10psi. Luckily, I had an air compressor at home that I just inflated it with. Unfortunately, by that time, Costco was closed and I had to work the next day. Morning came, tire seemed okay. Drove to work in town, called Costco Kapolei and told them my issue. They said I needed to make an appointment for the following day because they were booked for that day. Excuse me? You gave me a flat tire. Get to work, tire is flat. Re-inflate it. Go grab a coffee, tire is flat again. After work, re-inflate, drive as fast as I could to get to Costco Iwilei before they closed. Got there, tire is extremely flat and making a hissing sound. The mechanics found a hole in the tire. Methinks the technician at Costco Kapolei ran over a nail or sharp object of some sort while it was in the garage or while he was backing it out. In hind sight, I should have said something right then. But I come into the conflict quite often that I'm "just a girl" and don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to cars. Getting a flat, replacing your tires and/or getting them serviced is always unfortunate. Costco tires are always high demand bc they sell tires at a decent price. I've gotten my tires replaced, rotated and repaired with them. There is always a long line so you need go have some patience. Spencer and Justin serviced my car a few times and they are by far the best! Spencer is highly knowledgeable and was so helpful in ordering new tires under my warranty, putting on a spare and making sure I had extra air in my old tires in the case that my spare failed me. Without his consideration I would have been stranded and stuck with a flat spare. Unfortunately they didn't have my tire in stock but they called me as soon as they did. Wish I could give a better rating. I ordered my tires online, and a few hours later I received a call, which I missed. The voicemail said that they had my tires in stock and to call back to schedule an appointment. I called back pretty immediately, and the phone just rang and rang. I called multiple times and then it sounded like someone was picking up the phone and hanging it up just to stop it from ringing. Somehow I got in touch with the main customer service desk and explained to them what was going on. Luckily, they were able to get the person (who left the message) on the phone for me. She sounded confused to which I told her YOU just recently called me and left a message. It's like I had to jog her memory. Finally we make an appointment for 2 days later. I bring my car in yesterday for a 4:00pm appointment. The guy helping me said, it should be 45 min to 90 min. I walked over to Kapolei Commons to kill time but returned an hour later so I could have about 1/2 hour time to buy some stuff at Costco and hopefully that would line up with the 90 min wait time. Sure enough, I buy my stuff and get back to the Tire Center counter at 5:36 (little over 90 mins since dropping my car). Thinking about it now, I don't think they even had my car in one of the garage slots. The guy looked like he was kind of scrambling when he saw me and told me it would be about another 20 mins. So now I'm thinking that it'll be close to 6pm when he's telling me it'll be done. Finally at 6:22pm they tell me it's done and to go around outside so they could pull my car out for me. I do that, and I don't see my car pulled out. I'm waiting and waiting, and see the workers, including the one that said that it was done and he'd pull my car out, just standing around talking to some other workers. Finally, I just walked up to my car IN THE GARAGE still and start loading my items that I bought from Costco....hopefully that will get their attention and light a fire under their Okoles. Finally someone paid attention and reversed my car out while very casually apologetic for the wait. It was just ridiculous...close to 2.5 hours with an appointment made! This tire center needs a major overhaul! Please hire more people to service the population and provide the staff customer service skills. On 2 Oct 19, we stood in line for 45 minutes in the store for tire service. The attendant told us to call them with our tire information. We called twenty (20) times directly to the tire center and with the administrative staff assistance with no success. As a matter of fact, the tire center did pick up the phone once and then hung up! Unbelievable. Is this the type of service patrons should receive at Costco Kapolei Tire Service? My tire had a nail in it and according to Costco Waipio it was unrepairable and it would take 2-4 weeks for a new tire to come in. The guy at Costco Waipio said If I ordered it online it could come sooner so I left, went home to order it online. I went home and it said OUT OF STOCK. I started to panic a bit bcus I needed my car fixed so I called Costco Kapolei and RANAE was SO helpful. She checked to see if it was in stock on the island and it was! Went in to make appointment because I had just finished shopping for groceries. I get it was 20 minutes before the tire center closed but I figure it would be quick and to get it out of the way. Went to the front desk and Rik was there. Automatically I got an attitude from him asking if I needed something. I figured okay whatever so I told him I wanted to make an appointment for a tire change on my spouse's car. I did not have tire size etc but I figured if I gave him the car, model, and year then he'd find it. Instead he asked if I knew the tire size and so I said hold on let me search it. He gave me a whole sigh like "hurry up" kinda sound. So I searched on google real quick and by then he found the size. Walked away telling the other worker to finish my appointment paperwork etc. like I was such a burden sheesh. Fast forward to my appointment day. Line was maybe 4-5 people long. A sign at the front says for appointments or pickup so I wait in that line. Yet there's only one person at the front. 30min standing in line after my appointment, I finally get helped. Two lines. Another worker came out to help. I believe Randall helped me. He was super helpful. Told me they gave me the wrong tire size etc and had to re-quote me which basically was $100+ more than the original cost. I was over it and basically said okay it's fine. Paid and picked up my car an hour later just as he had estimated. If it wasn't for the other worker Randall this would've been a 1 star for sure. Bad attitude from Rik and he didn't even get the right tire size and estimate. Horrible customer service up till the end. Costco needs to read these reviews because it's pretty much all the same. No front desk help and bad customer service. Rik needs to get his attitude checked. Luckily I was patient to deal with it this time. read more
