Do NOT go to the Honolulu/Mapunapuna location ! ! ! The Company Core Values states that: "Service that goes the extra mile! Because we're the experts and we care about your safety, we take extra care when inspecting your vehicle and tires. We gain trust by doing what is right. We built our business based on trust and avoid anything that will break that trust." This is false advertising. My husband went there for a simple service regarding his tires. He agreed to their premium price. Without going into detail, there was a serious safety issue with my husband's car. My husband informed them about the problem; however the representative was reluctant to investigate the problem. The representative stood by his "experienced service staff." So my husband went to a reputable tire company to investigate the problem. The company discovered and concluded that American Tire Company negligently installed the tires improperly. Moreover, American Tire Company installation standards are generally set for commercial vehicles and NOT according to the specific type of vehicle that requires service. There is a sign in their office disclaiming that they are not responsible for any damages to the owner's rims but they claim to be very careful. Now I understand why they posted that disclaimer in the office. I issued a complaint with BBB. American Tire Company failed to offer any reasonable settlement. The Honolulu location is not trustworthy. I remember when the company was on Colburn St. when the company first started. SHAMEFUL! ! ! Maybe this location suits commercial vehicles only. "Quality repair services" ..."perform accurate and friendly auto repairs and tire services" is false advertisement. "We maintain a culture of respect, honesty, and commitment that extends to our people; both internal and external." These are all false statements in their website. "Caveat emptor! ! !" My advice is ....don't go to the Honolulu shop. read more

I needed an alignment. After reaching out to several shops, this one was most helpful and responsive. I spoke to Daniel, who explained things to me clearly and welcomed me in when I was ready to get the service. Kainoa was also very helpful. I had shown up early one morning, without an appointment, hoping to get in for the service, as my Ohana were visiting and I wanted to take them around the island. Kainoa got me in immediately and the usual hour and a half time allotted for an alignment went by more quickly than expected and we were on our way. There was a part I needed to replace in the back tire, which the mechanic found during the alignment. After a few weeks of waiting, the part came in and I took my car back to American Tire. They took care of everything promptly and efficiently. Even gave me a ride home (because they weren't too busy and had an extra person on the clock. This service is not usually provided, just fyi. They went out of their way, instead of having me wait for the work to get done plus the realignment, which would take approx 4 hours. Dre was super nice and we talked story on our short drive. Happened to notice a concerning bubble in my tire when I was in Kapolei. Googled tire places in the area and American Tire Company came up with good reviews. Trusted the reviews and gave them a call. The friendly employee who answered the phone was so nice and said they can take a look and replace the tire that day. I finished my errands and drove there and got my tire replaced so fast!! Had a leak in my tire from side wall damage (don't judge, lol) and needed tire replaced. After much research online about apparently impossible to get Continental 255/45 R19 replacement tires and calling various tire places on Oahu, and the consistently less than helpful Volvo service department, it turned out to be a more complicated project than anticipated. Daniel and Daniel were super helpful and went the extra mile to make sure I not only ended up with a good replacement solution. This helped me get new tires and being safe in the road again 14 days sooner than the dealer would have. While I was driving my company truck, the tire pressure sensor went on. I pulled over to the side of the road and noticed my driver, front tire had a flat/slow leak. I am usually able to find a tire leak, repair/patch a tire, change out a spare etc, but I was in a big time crunch and I was also hooked up to a trailer. I immediately went on yelp and found the American Tire Company. I am very glad and grateful I did, because it saved me alot of time and stress. Kainoa really showed what Aloha is all about. He made me feel welcomed, worry free, and assured they could get the problem fixed. They asses and fixed the problem exceptionally fast. I am very thankful for the American Tire Company, Kainoa, and the crew. I would definitely give these guy a call and give them business. I would also like to acknowledge that the shop is extremely clean, I even told them the shop was spotless. As I waited for my tire repair, I did notice two of the technicians purchased a bottle of water from the vending machine. I think it would be a great idea to bring in a water dispenser for the employees. Now days, every little adds up and something small like that can help an employee feel appreciated and know that they make a difference to a company. We dropped off a set of loose wheels and tires from a model 3 with 4 replacement tires for American tire to dismount and mount and balance. The guy at the front desk was super cool and really helpful and they got it done the same day as drop off. The shop was really clean and customer service was great. The only problem I had was all 4 of the wheels tire pressure after install was really low (all in the 20-25psi range). If they had aired it up to 40psi they would have gotten 5 stars. I don't know about you but for me it's the most dreadful time of year when I have to get my safety inspection done. The wait is usually excruciatingly long & you end up having to come back for whatever unknown reason or the people aren't nice...at all. I called around Kapolei and American Tire Company not only had an opening the next week, their phone etiquette was great! Safety inspections are Monday - Friday 12:30 to 2:30. Make an appointment! Once I checked in for my appointment, they directed us to the large waiting room on the right side which comes equipped with a tv, coffee, and vending machine! Each staff that walked by asked how we were doing, what great customer service! My safety inspection took less than 20 minutes and I was out of there! They put the sticker on for you & the whole process was seamless. I'll definitely be using American Tire Company for safety inspections in the future. read more

First off, I want to start by saying 5 stars is not enough for the service I received from ATC. Sorry, this is going to be a long one... I had just got word that my new 2021 4Runner came in and of course, I needed rims and tires to make it "mine". I had been searching online going back and fourth between 4Wheel Auto and Maui Off Road because that's the two names that popped up in my head first. After talking to my coworkers, they mentioned I should check out American Tire since we are constantly there to bring our work vehicles for service. Anyway, long story short, I ended up calling for tires. After a few rings, Dan picks up the phone and greets me! I told him hello and mentioned I worked with him before, except this time it was for my personal vehicle and not anything work related. Sure enough, he remembered me and asked how could he help. I explained I wanted tires to replace my stocks and that I wanted something rugged but not crazy, and of course, something that was nice without having to life my truck. After giving me a few options and specs, I decided on a set. Too easy right! Then, I said okay thanks Dan, I'll have to go call somewhere else to figure out what rims I'll need. He quickly asked why and explained they too sell rims. I was shocked! I honestly wasn't expecting it due to not seeing it on the website. Long story short, after going thru differ designs and specs, he found a rim that was perfect. A few days later, I got a phone call saying everything was shipped and ready for install and to drop off my vehicle. Of course, I managed to drop it off during lunch break. A few hours later, I got the call saying she's ready to go! He assured me it looked cherry! I pulled up to American tire and BOOM! There was my ride sitting nice right in front the store! It was as if it was a display vehicle for the shop. I couldn't believe how nice it looked. I was definitely surprised for sure. After a few minutes of explaining the tires and that he added additional protection and services for me, I was driving off! I must say, I really appreciate everything from start to finish. My Prince Charming needed help. He had a flat and needed a new tire. Does it look like I was to help with that? Hell no!! That's why I Yelped tire stores nearby. We found American Tire Company and made an appointment. They had the right tire size and were able to book an appointment the next day. Alex and Kainoa greeted us for the appointment. Unfortunately Prince Charming misplaced his key lock. They could not take his flat tire off without it. Kainoa, was awesome. He called the dealer and asked if they had the key lock in stock. He let my Prince Charming know that he doesn't have to keep looking for the key like a wild man; they had extra at the dealer and they already know. Now that is awesome service. Once Prince Charming came back with the key lock, it only took minutes for the tire to be changed. They were friendly, efficient and probably the best tire place we have been to. The price is reasonable, the service was impeccable and the staff were so helpful! In the end, Prince Charming got his new set of wheels and he and I got coffee ever after. The end. read more

I almost wish I had a car that needed work or, at the very least, tires. Almost! What my car did need was a safety inspection and my yelp quest ended at American Tire Company. What a clean, pleasant auto shop. So clean! If you really wanted, I think you could eat off their shop floor and find less dirt and germs than at your local eatery. Wow, this place is awesome! Fixed my fans and thermostat at a great price and did my oil change and safety check at the same time. Fast, efficient, reasonably priced and great service. A little out of the way in Campbell Industrial Park, but so worth it. I wish I found this place years ago. Another wonderful experience here. Got tires cheaper than Costco that's better quality without having the long wait. My coworker was quoted $800 for her brakes, and I told her to come here for a quote which was half price! I discovered a leak in my tire on Black Friday and needed it repaired. When I looked them up, they were located in campbell industrial which is convenient for me. Daniel greeted me right away when I entered the showroom. I didn't have an appointment and they were booked all day. I opted to leave my tire there with the expectation to pick it up on Monday. A couple of hours later I got a call from Daniel that my tire was repaired and ready for pickup...Awesome! I didn't take any pictures but the showroom and shop is very clean and organized, which gave me a very good first impression. If I could give a ZERO star rating I definitely would!!! I had brought my truck in a couple of weeks ago to have a set of tires on put on. I ended up waiting there for FIVE (5) HOURS! They had broken a wheel lug nut bolt & had to order another, waited for that. Then they were unable to put it on. I told them that I would come back to have them do the repair at a latter time. As soon as I drove off, all my tire TPMS lights started flashing. Drove back to their shop & was told by LAYDON to drive it about 10 miles & it should go off, also my truck was pulling to one side. I guess all the pounding that they did to try & fix that broken bolt messed up my alignment. Well, I brought the truck home & parked it in my garage where it's been for the past couple weeks. Went back there today & was told that I needed to change all my TPMS sensors, BUT I had them just changed at the dealer less than 2 years ago. I was originally helped by LAYDON & he helped me also today. Explained to him that the sensor lights never went off & my alignment was bad ever since they worked on it... he offered to throw it on the machine for an additional cost and change the sensors for an additional cost. Funny how I NEVER had any problems with those things until they worked on my truck. VERY poor customer service from LAYDON. Left there irritated, aggravated with an earful of excuses. It's seems like they're really good at creating problems so that you'll go back & they can make more money off of you. I'll be taking my truck to another shop to take care of the problems that they created... who knows what they'll be doing next time if I were to let them "work" on my truck.. Went in with 1 problem & ended up leaving with 3. Avoid the headache from poor customer service, save your time & money AVOID going there.... read more

I would just like to say thank you. I had my tires changed today and it was a very positive experience. I had an appointment at another place this weekend but when I got there, I was basically ignored. No greeting when I walked in. When I mentioned I had an appointment, the guy didn't even look up from the computer & just said "We're not open yet" though it was my appointment time and their door was open. I ended up getting in my car and leaving. I made an appointment with American Tire and recieved an email and phone call from Layden. When I arrived, he was outside to greet me. My car has wheel locks (didn't know that) and he came out to ask my permission to find the key instead of just rifling through my car. When I went inside to pay, the two employees I encountered also greeted me. I greatly appreciate the customer service and professionalism. My wife had American tire company change her oil about a year ago and never got it changed by anyone before them, I was trying to do her oil change myself since she always forgets and I found out that one of the fins on the oil filter cap were broken! I love companies that have a website that you can book your appt on line & Alex from American Tire called me with different choices of tires with prices and gave me a time frame on how long it was going to take and it only took approximately 2 hours. The only thing I was upset about is the technician that changed my tire said " who ever put my tire didn't put the tire locks straight that now it's strip" well I highly doubt that my son & his friend did but I had no choice but to "pay extra in part & labor" to remove the stripped tire locks & replace it. A simple tire changed cost me more than expected. I wish they have a see thru window like Flagship Lube where you can watch the technician at work. I discovered a nail in my tire causing a slow leak. I called American Tire on a Friday afternoon, and Chris told me they could get me right in. I waited in the waiting area while they checked the tire to see if it could be repaired or if I was going to have to buy a new tire. Fortunately, it could be repaired, and while I was waiting, Chris gave me a report on the condition of my tires, and let me know that two of them were showing substantial wear, and would need to be replaced soon. He gave me a quote for the tires, no pressure at all, just giving me good information. They got my tire repaired, and I was out of there in less than an hour. American Tire saved the day, and Chris was friendly, professional, and great to deal with. I'll definitely be back! read more

Don't go anywhere else to get tire service. This place is AWESOME.. you won't find any other tire shop with the kind of customer service that they provide. Made appointment to get my tire checked out due to a nail in my tire. Went to a few other tire shops and they looked at it and told me that they can't fix it and I would need a new tire. When I got to American Tire In Kapolei I was immediately greet by the two workers in the front. They told me that they could try and pull the nail out and if there is a leak they can try and fix it or I might have to replace. So they went to my truck and pulled the nail out with no puncture Whewww!! They told me it was no charge and acknowledged me by my first name through out my conversation. Needed my tires aligned ASAP. When I came in for my appointment they made sure an alignment was what I needed rather than just doing the service without confirming why.
