Wife immediately called hospital to have it resent. Wife went back to Costco tonight at 6:45. Pharmacist told her that the order was received but they (Costco) canceled it! What?! Wife called hospital on the spot to figure out what was happening while standing with the pharmacist. Clock struck 7:00 while both were standing there and the pharmacist said, "It's seven, we're closed!" and shut the gate! Literally mid-conversation! WTH? Absolutely stunned! We've shopped this Costco store for years with no problems. We were forced this year to use the Costco Pharmacy due to insurance change. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I am a 25 year member of Costco. My recent visits have been less than stellar. After having visited Sam's and witnessed the easy checkout process, checking out at Costco is very inconvenient and tiresome. I went to the self checkout aisle today with a very large purchase and some very heavy items. There is no limit on the self checkout aisles and they typically go much faster than the regular checkout. One of the employees with a scanner gun stood and watched me lift all of the heavy water bottles, drink, dispensers, and other miscellaneous items, and put them on the scanner. When I had only toilet paper and paper towel towels left she offered to scan those for me because she had to put in the clearance for the alcohol that I had purchased. I told her never mind. This is not customer service. I have to show my ID in order to get in the store. I have to show my receipt to get out of the store and no one will even help me spend the $384 that it cost me to be there today. Even Home Depot has a scanning gun that customers can use. Sam's has an app that you can add up your items as you go through the store and then they look at a QR code and scan your basket as you leave. Easy Peezy, if these two places can make themselves more customer friendly, so can Costco. read more

The prices here are very decent but you do get a large volume of items so unless you have a big family or a restaurant this may not be the ideal place to make purchases because you're going to lot of cans of beans and like you can't just buy one can of beans for example. If you're buying clothes, they have really great deals for you know just buying one pair of pants or one shirt. And they are very high quality. Their returns policy is very generous as well. read more

I always enjoy a good Costco run, no matter where I am. When in MI, this is my preferred location to come and stock up on the goods that I want and/or need to get through my trip. I'm generally never disappointed in the selections, quality and value of goods received. The customer service received is always on par. Utilizing my membership away from home definitely adds to the value of being a member. The parking lot seems to always be full with shoppers coming and going, however, that never seems to negativity impact my shopping experience. read more

I know a lot of people who love to buy clothes here. And there is always something new to discover. The clerks are always friendly and helpful. First off who doesn't love COSTCO? Pretty much everything in the store is awesome and its by far my personal favorite goto store to shop. Recently we got robbed and realized we needed a serious upgrade in home security and we started with cameras and got five Blink security cameras and they are super easy to set up and operate. Next was a home alarm system and Simplisafe is super easy to set up and operate. I compared prices with everyone and COSTCO beat everyone as usual. Plus COSTCO has a great return policy if something gives you trouble. COSTCO is always a mad house and i enjoy the samples and quality products that they sell. Best get some home protection in this crazy world of ours. A I like COSTCO because with this purchase I completely avoided the crowds and shopped online and even got three months free monitoring ($27.99) a month for free. I have seen NO other retailer offer that or the low package prices so thank you COSTCO. read more

Just like everyone else, I've been to a few Costco's in my day, and some fare better then others. I used to shop at the one off Square Lake and Telegraph, but that one' so insane an annoying, I had to switch. This one's only a few miles closer, but much easier to get in and out of. What I love about it is a few things. First, it's in a shopping district, so you aren't *just* going to Costco. There's a Menard's across the street, Meijer (with a gas station), Target, Joann Fabrics and a few other places as well. So, if you need or want to make multiple stops for shopping, you can. Secondly, it's right off the expressway, which is convenient as well. Parking here's decent as well. My only complaint? It's set up sideways on the inside compared to other one's I've been too. It's literally set up sideways. I'm used to walking down the first major aisle, but here it's wacky and different. I don't know who let this happen, but its kind of annoying. I love shopping here also because the staff is actually nice. They haven't always been nice, but they aren't stressed out blobs either. Part of the reason I switched to this location is because the staff at the Square Lake one just got on my nerves. Overall I'm much happier here and will continue to frequent on the regular. Oh, and now at the food court they have you pay for their famous $1.50 hot dog and pop via kiosk. No more long register lines! read more

One stop shop doesn't begin to express how convenient it is to shop at Costco. The only bad thing about shopping at Costco is that my will power isn't strong enough to stop me from adding things that I want and don't need. Lots of parking and it's busy most of the time but the isle ways are extra wide and filled with all my favorite goodies. The checkout is busy most days but they do a great job of double teaming my checkout. The seafood and meat section has a big surf and turf selection for those big family get together. The bakery is great as well, I've had 3 cakes made special for anniversary, birthday and graduation. All 3 times they did a yummy/wonderful job. I really enjoy there cafe because being on the go it's nice to grab a meal and a drink. Give them a chance and you'll be glad you did. read more

Every time I've used the self checkout I've dealt it employees that are rude and borderline nasty. I decided to never use self checkout after my last few experiences. The final straw was the self checkout employee harassing my mom, telling her she needed a card and it looks like we are together when we went to checkout. My mother was in from out of state and just came along to shop with me after I got her from the airport, all the items were for my family. It has been worth it every time to go through the cashiers as they are always friendly and don't act like you are bothering them. Made the mistake today of using self checkout at 515 and had the same experience as every other time, rude employee who acted like I was bothering her when she had to clear an error code. While walking out I heard her say to the other self scan employee "I'm not dealing with this sharing scanner crap again today." Not sure what that meant but it's not a great representation of Costco. Everyone else is always very helpful and this location always is well stocked. Just avoid self checkout at all cost! read more

Have you ever frequented a store so much that you could push your cart around that store with a blindfold on and pick up what you came there for? That's NOT this Costco for me but rather another Costco location for me. But this location is conveniently positioned just off the interstate highway if we are headed north and their gas prices are often lower that even other Costcos! So here's the problem: pulled off the highway, filled the tank, went in the store to grab a few items for the trip, and...where is everything?!? Different floor layout!! I know I walked at least double the distance I would have done in my regular Costco! I asked a few shoppers if this was their regular store and, if it was, where each item was that I was looking for. It's still the same great Costco products and prices but frustrating like as if someone rearranged everything in your house! OK, I have to agree it's not up there with stopping terrorism, curing cancer, or fixing global warming (this last one does not necessarily reflect the view of this writer, but it sounds good)! Stay away from the tire center. They either either have no clue what is going on or they lie to customers. Whichever one it is, it is not worth the risk. They could not provide ANY resolution to their mistake. They would not even acknowledge they did anything wrong or have any plan to avoid similar problems in the future. read more

Just a warning, hoping they dealt with it properly eventually. Hoping it is an isolated incident. we purchased 'street tacos' from the deli area in the warehouse and the chicken was really moldy. We contacted the warehouse as soon as it was discovered to let them know. Immediately was told because we had it same day delivered from their website it was not there problem but Instacarts problem. I asked the ladies name and she hung up on me. Mind you I just wanted them to check their meals as this was clearly an issue that could affect other people. Could care less about the 10 or 12 dollars. Since this cooked chicken was moldy it probably was sourced from the same chicken in other meals sold there and must have not been handled properly as to let mold grow. I opened the cilantro sauce or whatever that came with it and that smelled like it had gone bad as well...so I am not sure if they make these in house as far as the chicken or if the sauces and chicken is made offsite and shipped and placed on shelves. Cause it seems like a refrigeration issue possibly. I hope they checked and discarded any that were bad as this wasn't immediately visible at first. The moldy chicken was underneath and hadn't been discovered until after we had consumed some. I tried contacting through Costco directly and they weren't concerned and referred me back to the warehouse. read more

Choosing between wholesale warehouses is a no brainer in my opinion! I love Costco! It's so much better than other similar places. If you are a regular like me you can kind of figure out the sale cycles and keep your spending to a minimum. But you WILL get suckered into about ten plus things you don't need on every visit so be prepared! My go-to Costco! This location tends to be less crazy busy than the Hall Road location. But still crazy busy on the weekends like any Costco. Try to go on a weekday to avoid the rush. Store is always clean and has what I need. Appliances, booze, electronics, food, health care, paper products, etc. Costco has stocked. Some products get discontinued/there for a limited time, so if you really like something you may have to just buy it then! Staff are usually nonexistent and are hard to find if you have a question while in the huge aisles. Cashiers are friendly though. Do not forget to show your receipt to the worker while on your way out. My favorite part about Costco is the gas station - prices are always less expensive compared to other gas stations. No cash though can be used but a Costco gift card can be like cash. read more

I have been going to this location fr years and years, but have never reviewed it. Why? Who knows, but they deserve one. This location opened around 2000, I think, but thankfully, management keeps it up and it looks great. It is usually clean and well organized. This is the only Costco for several miles so it is very busy. They recently brought back the self-scan area which really helps the backlog. They are still having trouble stocking things like Clorox wipes, but in this ongoing C19 Era, that should be expected and understood. I rarely have a return here and if I do, the staff is very accommodating. read more

*BEWARE* A Costco tire associate broke my power folding 3rd row seat!!! I filed a claim and Costco refuses to fix it!!! There was no reason for the employee to operate the seat because the spare is stored under the van. The seat only requires a push of a button to fold, but it looks like it was manually forced. I stopped by Costco today for gas after a pretty bad experience at Discount Tire. As I was leaving Costco, I drove around by the tire service center to see if someone could assess the tire that Discount had just overfilled. The bays were closed but Logan was walking out of the store and I asked him if he could help me. He asked if I had an appointment and said no, and explained the situation. He said yes and told me to drive around to the garages. He quickly and happily helped my tires. I always love everything about Costco and was really grateful for the help today. Everyone should learn from Costco and their standard for hiring employees! read more

The staff can be very rude. Cashier at u-scan Michelle has a Nice/Nasty attitude. I hard a time with my 7 items pillows and a soft foldable rug few other small items. The scale wasn't registering my items she came over. I apologized said I'm sorry maybe I should have went through a regular line. Yes you still can! An item later it freezes up again. She takes her time ringing up items inside other guests carts before she comes over and clears it again. Okay last item and it freezes up again. She's again helping other guest scan items in their carts. A register opened beside me I left that register as it was and started over. I rang up 3 items cashed out then rang the other 4 items. Before I left I went to look at her name badge and she says " oh your beautiful " this women is a crazy witch. If she was trying to rein my day she did. I'm a very self sufficient customer and rarely ask for help. I rarely go to this Costco I will definitely try to avoid it in the future. Costco needs a few secret shoppers to assess employees customer service skills. read more

I have been using the hearing aid center at the Brown Road store for a few years and the people that work here are the best. Rafael the department manager is always involved in customer care. Steve at the desk is always pleasant courteous and engaged with the people coming and going. They genuinely seem concerned to achieve great customer satisfaction and as happened yesterday always ready to go the extra mile to get results that benefit the Costco customer. In our Covid world it's too easy to focus on the negative when there are so many positive interactions taking place by good people on a regular basis. Thanks again for a great job. I tried to fill my dogs heart guard prescription at 515 and she pharmacy closed at 6 - it's simple you grab the box, verify the prescription and hand it over. That being said the pharmacist behind the counter told me no, and told me I could come back Monday because she had other stuff to do and they close at 6. I distinctly recall that going against Costco's customer values when I was a Costco employee for several years but I guess things have changed. Anyway I'm not driving 45 minutes one way to the near seat Costco to fill a prescription. Sorry I waste $150+ a year on membership and credit card. read more

I have no issues with the Auburn Hills Costco store, but the pharmacy is a different story. I take a legit script in from my Doctor, and the pharmacist refuses to fill it as written, she wants to tweak it for some reason to fit her cost margin i have to assume. Note to the pharmacist you are not a Doctor. While I understand questioning it and calling the Doctor, once you get clarification you should do your job or move out. read more

This is one of the nicer Costcos that I have been too. It seems like every time we go all our almost the lanes are open and it moves quickly. We usually refer to Costco as the $400 store.... we can never get our of there spending less than $400! They usually have samples too..... but the sample trays are usually empty from the parents taking their kids for lunch :-) read more

Loooove this particular Costco location. It's located right off of 75, and in close proximity to Target, Meijer and a handful of other store. Also, if you are unlucky enough to end up here on a Saturday afternoon, the ONLY saving grace is the incredible amount of free samples being offered. Last time I was in the area happened to be 3pm on a Saturday, and the parking lot was so full I almost didn't stop. However, the lines moved quickly, and it was game on for sampling. I got huge cups and napkinfuls of crackers with hummus, protein granola crunch bars, dried blueberries, Costco's pumpkin pie and not one but two cups of coffee (one promoting a cafe latte machine, the other was creamer samples). Also, because this store is so busy, they have a slightly larger selection than other locations. read more

Its a smaller costco and a bit unusual when it comes to segments, i tried alot but couldnt find the bread section, the counters were fast and it was clean as well. The checkout cashier was responsive and was greeting everyone as well but as always my complain with costco is that they don't accept anything except master card or debit card and in this era it sounds weird. The parking is sufficient and its close to outlet malls so if you are going shopping than you can visit this place and get done with everything in one day. read more

You beguiling wholesale club with your employee-friendly practices, a CEO more interested in humane employment rather than pushing things into the black at the expense of his workers? Take note, Walton family, *this* is how you run a successful business. I will take my business to Costco over Sam's Club every time. I don't feel bad about spending a membership fee annually for quality products, bulletproof return policies, and a really darn tasty food court at reasonable prices. Plus, the employees really do receive benefits far and away beyond what most retail folk do. So, Auburn Hills warehouse, let's talk. One, please get that light installed any time now so we can get in and out with less fuss. What's this about opening up at 7.30 AM? Why doesn't my nearest warehouse do this? I popped in on the Friday before Christmas to obtain my Christmas roast. Rule of thumb, their meat prices are near unbeatable except on deep supermarket sales, and so many meats are wonderfully prepackaged and divided for freezing ease. I thought I was going to be smart, showing up at starting time. Oh man, no I was not. There were already lines wrapped around the building. We will get to that. As a Costco goes, this one has a good layout and lots of stock. Admittedly I do not like the chainlink divisions on the right hand side rather than the left -- tiny niggle -- because it feels like we're being herded hard into the store instead of having open space. That said, the warehouse has an easy layout to navigate. Food is at the back. Seasonal is in the middle. You get the point. Been to one Costco, been to them all, minus the mirroring effect. Good selection here and no irregularities to speak of, what more could a shopper ask for? How about better access to the checkouts? I've been here during peak times (see Christmas rush) and regular times. There is a serious lack of design or space near the checkouts, which causes lines to snake weirdly into shopping areas, causing people waiting with carts to dodge around those trying to see an aisle and those trying to get from point A to point B. Pretty maddening in order to just get out the door. The solution is easy: get rid of the first two ranks of merchandise, and allow people more space. I've never seen shortening this bad, and the Madison Heights location gives an example of how to accommodate 4 to 6 shoppers in a row without being flush up against the granola bars and nuts. It'd drive me nuts to regularly be squashed there or gliding down a line. The sight lines are impacted too, which makes it very hard to see if other cashiers are open. VERDICT: 4 stars for a great store, minus one for really bad cashier area contributing to line ups. read more
