This review is for tire shop Absolutely worst customer service by the front attendant. Got a big nail in a tire and had to patch it up right away for next day work. Called around 3pm and they said yes walkins are welcome (last time they denied walk in at 2pm). Walked in and checked in at front. Guy said 2hrs minimum and at that time there were only 2 cars in front of me. 2hrs and 30 minutes have passed by and I walk up to ask how much longer since I saw my car in shop for an hour with tires off. He said can't guarantee any time its being worked at. Ok! I get it I walked in without appointment but that doesn't mean you're going to take 3+ hours for a tire patching. Moreover, at least give a time frame to complete the job. No understanding of customer service here just taking sweet time since its a WALK IN! Forever slow service. The employees that I have encountered to walk around the registers to move your basket along have always been rude. The customer service employees always want to upcharge and after the 3rd no they don't seem to get the hint. However I looked pasted all this. What really drove me through a wall was when I watched my cashier take the cash from the customer in front of me paid with and immediately stashed it in the register and when it was my turn to pay she marked all my bills, including the $1 dollar bill. I haven't met a Costco that has disappointed me yet, especially the gas prices. This Costco is actually attached to the mall although there is no entrance to the mall through Costco. Something's that always throws me at this Costco is the entrance and exit to Costco. It's reversed so that the entrance is on your left and the exit is on the right. There were many great furniture displays to try out and and large variety of merchandise to browse. However, the lines to the cashier were long during the weekend I visited which is typical of any Costco. Overall, it's a nice Costco to visit especially when you are already in the area. read more

I love the products items I purchased at this store today. I accompanied my family member and decided to split up so we cover the food line and checkout line at one to save time. The cashier was super rude to me. i was in the check out line 6 today when the cashier lady working at line 6 today, she shouted at me so hard telling me the member has to be to one in the line and I couldn't pay, I pointed to him on the pizza line and explained to her I didn't know. She shouted at me again and say next time he should be here. Next thing you know I paid using a master card and that didn't go well for me, she shouted again- we don't take master card only Visa. I just kindly say- thats okay, I also have a visa and made the payment. I told her she was very unpleasant and left. read more

3.5 stars High star rating for excellent low gas prices. Low star rating for long lines on weekends (4 cars deep on average). On weekdays lines are pretty quick (2 cars deep). As a courtesy to other gas filler-uppers, I always determine whether or not to pull up in front of an existing / current gas filler to ensure the line moves smoothly. For example, if the person filling up in the back pump is almost done, and no one is in front of her using the front pump, then I'll wait til he or she pulls out so that the car waiting behind me and myself can move up to the pumps at the same time and minimize congestion. I have been going to this Costco since the fall of BJ's and Sam's Club and since the prices were cheaper than both wholesale warehouses. Overall, this place has taken a steep downfall since it has first started out. 1. Let's start with the parking lot: The parking lot is always overcrowded from mall traffic and the cart returns are always overflowing with carts. If the return is empty, then people park IN the cart return! 2. The Food Court: The food at this location is THE WORST! The Caesar Salad always looks wilted and the pizza is either dried out or the crust is non-existent. The Soda station is a mess and the Soda's are syrupy and lack in Carbonation (Fizz). The workers here give you a bad attitude and make your day miserable. The is never a worker on duty to clean the tables, restock, or empty the trash. 3. The Return Center: The return center is filled with some of the meanest workers in the store. They yell at you for no reason at all. They deny and reject items you want to return. For example, items "disappear" from their computer and they then tell you they never sold that item here and they cannot refund you. This happens even with a receipt showing the item and their address. It usually takes a lot of arguing and yelling (from them) to get a refund. I never leave the return center happy, like when I came in. 4. The Shopping Experience: This Costco is very crowded on weekends (especially Sunday). I usually to go on weekdays, but several people who come along with me say it is still more crowded than other competitors, like Sam's and BJ's. Things here do not have a long shelf life and disappear quickly. The most popular items in the whole store are the Kirkland Signature Water Bottles and Bakery Items. When I leave here, most of the time I am frustrated that this place because they remove or reduce popular items like Spaghetti Sauce, Shoes, Season appropriate Clothes, ect. Most of the time I think if Sam's and BJ's have this problem. I do know that other Costco's definitely do not have this issue. 5. Eye Center: The eye center is average and there is nothing more to really say about it. 6. Variety and Quality Costco's quality in meats are pretty good, but their fruits and their vegetables are not. Most of the time, the fruit is mealy and mushy and the vegetables are brown and wilted. One of the things Costco lacks in is a variety. There is always the same item being sold at Costco. Costco sells some good items every once in a while, but it disappears in less than a month. Costco also takes away popular and vital items. 7. The Bakery: Most of the bakery items are good but don't last very long. When I say this I mean that the breads, pastries, and cakes expire and get moldy very fast. In less than three days the bagels and bread items I buy get moldy (even if I put them in the freezer). If you buy a bakery item here I suggest you have a big family or a party that will eat it in less than two days! 8. Photo Center: I don't have much of a problem with the photo center, but this place always gets backed up severely during the Graduation Season. 9. Checkout: The Checkout is a hit or miss. Some clerks are fast like a cheetah, while others make it look like a sloth can move faster than them. I have discovered that the shorter lines are on the far right side or the left-most line (when facing the registers on the line side). In the end, do yourself a huge favor. Go to the Costco in Manassas or Pentagon City. Another option would be , if you cannot do the drive, to go to the BJ's or the Sam's Club. This Costco is not worth the Headache, Frustration, or the Anger. read more

Being a location with offers gas and near the outlet mall, this is a very, very, busy Costco! Parking is ample, but can get a little bit frustrating because there are people and cars and shopping carts all around. The staff members seem overwhelmed most of the time with the customers (at least on the weekends), but they are not rude. it's just strange because the staff members I have encounters (returns, tire service, food court, and cashiers) rarely smile... This review is for the Tire Center. I went here to get my tire looked at since I saw there was a nail in my tire. I come to Costco often for tire replacement or issues. I first waited 2 hours for them to have to look at it. I finally get a call and they said they "can't" fill the hole for my tire since it was too close to the rim. The nail was clearly in the middle of my tire. They recommended that I should replace the tire and since it's an AWD vehicle that I need to replace all 4. I told them I just replaced my tires about 2-3 months ago so there is no need to do that. They advised they couldn't help and would bring my car out in 5-10 minutes. I was waiting the entire time and another 45 minutes go by and I finally get the keys to my car. This was by far the WORST experience I ever had with Costco Tire Center. I went and got two different opinions on my tire and guess what it was fixed and was always fixable. I was charged for my time and nothing more. If you don't plan on spending hundreds of dollars here and replacing your tire then don't come here at all. Take your money elsewhere and you'll get better service and less of a wait time. Other tire centers are will to price match to Costco so go there for better service. read more

Stopping at an outlet mall in a random state I stopped into this Costco next to Saks to pick up a couple of items. Of course I had to get a snack on the way out. Waiting in a long line I noticed only 1 register was open. Scoping the situation I could not take my eyes off the cashier. She was taking money, filing orders, refilling food, and monitoring the pizza ovens all at the same time. While being polite to customers. There were a few younger people in the prep area. They were moving at a snails pace in comparison. As food was running out, she started batches of hotdogs in seconds with hardly a delay. These 5 stars are entirely for you Barbara. DO NOT EAT AT THE FOOD COURT We were there with my family on 02/25/17 and got really bad Food Poisoning from eating a hot dog and the chicken bake. I called the store the next morning to report this and prevent other people from getting sick and spoke to an admin, told her what happened and she couldn't even relay the message to the manager since he wasn't there, and no apology from her either like she just didn't care! We will be reporting this to the Prince William health department since we don't want this to happen to anyone else! read more

Not too sure what the hell is going on but they need more active staff members or something. The lines are always long but I see registers not in use. They run out of shopping carts but I see plenty in the parking lot stations. Maybe tell your staff to focus more on store maintenance and customer service rather than their makeup and "drip". read more

This review is for the tire center: Heads up - you can apparently make an appointment! I didn't think to ask but if you decide to get your tires from Costco definitely call ahead. I brought my car in on a Thursday afternoon at 1 pm to get all 4 tires replaced. Got the price, paid up front, and was quoted 2-2.5 hours and that they'd give me a call once the car was done. Great! I had assumed there'd be a couple hour wait which is why I specifically came to this location so I can walk around the mall in the meantime (shopaholics gonna shop, right?). I then went and got a manicure (go read my review for Nail Trix if anyone's thinking of doing the same), walked around the entire mall, got a pretzel, and after the 2 hour point I was constantly checking my phone to make sure I didn't miss a call from Costco. Finally at 415 (3 hours and 15 minutes later) I was wondering why I hadn't received a call yet and decided to head back to Costco to check on the status. I thought maybe they got my phone number wrong, maybe they got super busy all of a sudden? I get to the tire desk and ask about the status... The guy looked confused and said my car had been done for awhile and asked if I got a call? Nope... He confirmed the phone number and it was in fact correct. He gave a slight apology but didn't seem fazed that I waited around unnecessarily for so long. He gave me my keys and told me my car was parked in the spots right in front of the bay's... I head out there and my cars not there. I ask one of the guys working and he said if it wasn't there then it was somewhere in the large parking lot - he did narrow it down to two lanes but I did find it ridiculous that I had to go hunt down my car myself... I basically walked around clicking my panic button til I found it. When I get in the car, feeling sweaty and irritated, I look over the receipt I was just given and noticed the "time out" time stamp in the upper corner... It was stamped 13:55... Meaning my car was done 50 minutes after I dropped it off but I spent an additional 2 and a half hours waiting for it. Now at this point, I was pretty ticked off. I called and asked for the auto center manager and spoke to David, explaining the situation. Yes, he apologized and it did seem sincere but offered nothing in return knowing I wasted 2.5 hours for nothing. Peoples time is valuable and they need to respect that. read more

Five Stars for the simple fact of the matter that I drove there for tires, I had heard at the Springfield Costco that the wait would be shorter there. Well one hour & half later and three hundred dollars down, I was on my way. Only after the store got me for another hundred dollars, my excuse I had a 4th of July cookout to stock-up for . The store was very new looking and of coarse the employees are always helpful and knowledgeable. I'm sure this store will be up to the normal crowds of soccer moms filling up the Suburbans and cubical jockeys stocking up the office once word gets out. As far as Costco's go, this one is just OK. I work near the Pentagon City Costco, so that is the one I am comparing this to... On the plus side: The gas at this Costco is less expensive than anywhere else in the Dale City area. Also, the products that Costco sells are usually always top quality. But, this particular Costco needs to step it up quite a bit. Let's start with the food court. Ugg. They need to go up to Pentagon City to learn how to make pizza. The area is generally always dirty. Tables are unclean, the soda fountains look like they are never wiped down. I would say the worst part about this Costco are the people they have working at the check-out lines. They have to be some of the most unfriendly and uncaring people. There are a couple that really shine and I look for them when I go.. But overall, most don't seem to want to be there and seem to despise the people coming through the lines. Too many times I have taken one of those cards to the register, paid for the item, and then gone to pick it up from customers service, only to find out that they did not have the item in stock. (This, even though they had a pallet of the product cards on display.) Worse, I am then treated to an attitude by the customer service person because they have to walk me back to a register to give me a refund. Review Updated 11/2/2011: I had to drop my rating from 2 stars to 1 star after my latest visit: 1. I went first to get some gas. The lines here are usually long, but they were not too bad tonight. I pick a line and notice that there is a guy at the pump talking to the girl who worked there. He was not pumping gas. So, I start wondering - Has he started? Or is he finished? At this point, I am committed - someone pulled in back of me. Finally, the guy in front of me got out of his car and said something to them. He got in his car and pulled away. Shouldn't the worker have realized they were blocking a pump? They were chatting for 10+ minutes. 2. I go to park in front of Costco and have to squeeze my car between the shopping carts and the other parked cars. This bin of shopping cars was OVERFLOWING with carts. (This is a Tuesday at 5:30pm) I decided to take a picture to show the manager and as I am taking a picture, a van trying to back out of a space, navigating around the carts, scrapped the whole side of his van on the carts! 3. I walk in to go to customer service. I had to return some milk that was bad the day we brought it home. There was no one in front of me, so I walked right up to the counter. The girl at the register is doing something at the computer and does not look up or acknowledge me. I stand there for 5 minutes. The girl, without looking up, says, "OK, I am ready for you." I don't say anything... She does not look up. She repeats it, "Hey, I am ready for you." Again, she never looks up. I say, "Are you talking to me?" She replies, without looking up, "No, I am talking to my manager." (He was standing there right behind her, fiddling with something on the return shelf.) Hearing this he comes over and punches something into the register. Another minute or two goes by and she says, "What can I do for you?" Again she STILL HAS NOT LOOKED AT ME AT ALL. I say, "Are you talking to me now?" ... Hey! She looked up!!! She then cops a major attitude and says something to the effect that she was sorry she was not giving me her undivided attention. She then proceeds to return the milk, at which point she says, "Was there something wrong with it." (Not looking up at me.) I think for a second... Why else would I be returning milk? She looks up with a mean look and I point to the milk where I had written in BIG RED letters - "BAD". I said, "Yes, it is bad." She then cops an even bigger attitude and insinuates that she is busy. I said to her, that I was sorry, but I though she was in customer service, that I was the customer and that I expected service. She did not like that, but I did not want to get too into it with her. The manager said nothing through all this. I went into the store to get a few things and on my way out, I saw the manager and went up to him. I asked him what the issue was with the girl at customer service. (I did this in a more casual, jokey manner...) He then copped a tude and said, rudely, that he already spoke to her. At that point, I lost it. The thing about it is that this is the type of thing that goes on at this store ALL THE TIME. It is rare to go in and not have some sort of problem. read more

Have loved my membership with costco since purchasing it a few months ago. We went a little ham on our first trip and have since calmed down, only really zoning on essentials. LOVE their meat selection; their ribeye and strip cuts are HUGE, to the point I think they could be halved to double your portions. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was an item we love and found the first trip, has no longer been stocked since then. Super sad b/c it was great find. I've had great customer service through every point of contact. I love ordering a slice of pizza omw out and having it ready in a number of minutes. Getting gas has only annoyed me a few times, but it's easy for me to jump off 95S in the evening and get right back on. I think if you can avoid costco at peak times, you'll be just fine. read more

I love Costco. And yes, sometimes you wish that the employees fully embraced its corporate culture, especially, with returns. All in all, Costco always keeps me wondering how do they ever do it? I mean they really have the best deals! What you should consider is the quality of their products. So don't go trying to compare them to Walmart. As for the Woodbridge crew, they are a mixed bag but definitely my favorites amongst the local stores in the DC area. Some are the nicest people that you have ever encountered and others are a little mean-spirited. I feel, however, that some of that is mainly the nature of the fast-paced, highly demanding and mentally/physically draining nature of the job. I do wish that they train some of their employees better, especially those looking up account and purchase history, etc. In summary, "Costco, you did it again!" is the usual thought I have as I continuously encounter new deals making the sometimes long lines and the not so hot encounters with staff all worth it. read more

Every time I come here I get insulted! Before, it was the snack area with a gratuitous insult from the worker there. Now, I go there today and the cashier loudly insinuates that I am dishonest because I am not a member and I am using a Gift card that my wife, a member, gave to me to use. She never gives me the specifics of why I am being dishonest but it has put me on alert that this store is staffed by local low-lives that give gratuitous insults to the paying customer. To hell with you Costco for treating your customers so poorly. I will not forget it! You'd do well to educate your cashiers/clerks how to treat paying customers. read more

Great customer service and a good place to stop and shop for groceries and any other items you think (or may have never thought of) need. When they have sales, they're really good and the meat is more inexpensive than a lot of places in the area. They used to be known for their great samples, but lately the samples have been very thin. The checkout lines have also get cramped because there is no sense of order because of the store layout, which leads people to cutting in line and getting into arguments on who was there and where the line starts. read more

Worst customer service ever! I've never been to any other costco where staff is so rude. The staff at merchandise return won't even say hello to you. I wanted to get a costco card replacement because i lost mine, she refused the give me one! She was like just use your credit card. I was like i do not wanna carry around the credit card all the time, she was like no I cannot give you another one! I pay $120 membership and I can't even get a replacement card? This review is for the tire center. The work was for tire replacement and was done as expected, but it's a straightforward job that is almost impossible to mess up. The problem was with the employees. The one who returned the keys to us was a Hispanic or Asian man who was obviously drunk or hung over (bloodshot eyes) and told us that the vehicle was parked in the parking lot across from the auto bays. It was not, but was further away near the gas pumps at a diagonal to the bay. He was either being rude with a bad attitude due to his hangover or completely shitfaced still and couldn't remember where he had parked it. It was raining so if I had not been intelligent enough to use the key fob to locate the vehicle we would have been soaked looking for it. To add insult to the entire matter, another woman who was white had the same service provided and had her car parked directly in front of the bays where there were at least three more open parking spots where they could have parked the car. Never took Costco to be a racist type of business but then again they allow their employees to work while intoxicated so it really doesn't surprise me. Good luck getting good service from a racist, party house, perhaps a sams club membership might be a better investment... read more
