Taken my corgi here a few times the last year for a bath and nail trim. He's the type of dog that hates the car and is super nervous around strangers. So I always kind of worry he'll be too difficult. But the girls here are fantastic and super professional. We call upon arrival, they come out and grab him and a few hours later they call and let you know your hairy baby is ready. Brought my husky there for the 3rd time. Went to pick him up and let me tell you, give my 3 year old a pair of clippers and this is what it looked like. It all fairness I asked them to cut is underbelly and butt as low as they could because it's the summer months. When I went to pick him up it was $30 more then normal. When I asked why I was told " well he has a lot of hair" CLEARLY HE IS A HUSKY! Took pictures and asked to speak to the manager and Lexi got very defensive. "It was only 5 dollars extra for the hair and 15 dollars extra for the cutting" ( and so on) Thank you Lexi as my wallet seems to be open for you. I told her he has the same thing done every time and was always charged the same... I asked to speak to the owner and she HUNG UP ON ME. I called back and she said well your dog is hard to work with and I have other calls coming in. REAL PROFESSIONAL! I'm waiting for the owner to call me. Had to be taken to an emergency vet, thousands of dollars of bills later - he still isn't back to normal as he suffered brain damage due to the negligence and time without oxygen. My godmother would bring her dog here on a regular basis to be groomed for years. Last time she did will be the last time this place ever gets her business. When they were done grooming her dog instead of crating him they put him in his black carrier bag, which has ventilation but doesn't circulate air. He got over heated and had coded by the time my Godmom had got him to the Veterinarian ER. He wasn't breathing for 6 minutes!!! Because of this he has brain damage, doesn't act the same anymore at all, and if he gets over heated one more time he will die. It's a huge nightmare that no one should have to go through, and they won't even accept blame or that they did anything wrong. Do NOT take your pets here! These people do not deserve anyone's business, and clearly don't care about the dogs (or customers as my godmother was a loyal customer until this happened). read more

We've been here a few times with our golden and have always been happy with the service and puppy cut they give. However, today we were really disappointed with our experience. I called last week looking for an appointment and the soonest was today (a week later). I was told to bring our dog in between 10:30-12. I brought him in at 10:30 expecting that since he was there as soon as they allow and that I had an appointment, he would be seen and groomed in a timely manner. Not the case. He was crated and not ready for 5 hours! 5 hours without going to the bathroom, or having any water. Completely unacceptable. Thank goodness it's not summer yet, and it wasn't hot in the place. When he got home, he drank 4 bowls of water. Yes 4! Not exaggerating. He was so thirsty and I'm assuming it's because they do not give the dogs any water, which is understandable for a couple hours, but not ok for 5 hours! Anyone thinking about bringing their dog here needs to be aware that even if they make an appointment, bring their dog in first thing, their dog will still be left in a crate and be without water for 5 hours. We will never be returning. Very disappointed with their level of care about the animal's well being. read more

I called this morning to have Buddy groomed, and all 3 to have nails cut . Was told o.k. drop them off before noon , and call when we get there so , they can come out to get. Done . Girl came out , grabbed dogs , asked if the number we called on was good , yes , and we left . Got almost to Panera , and the groomers call . " Yes , we came outside with Nacho , and Frito , and you're gone." " Oh , I'm sorry, I didn't know I was to wait ." " I told you yesterday when I talked to you . " " Nobody told me .... and click... she hangs up . By this time I'm now pissed because, she hung up on me . I go to pick up Buddy , and tell her " Sorry , for the confusion but , nobody told me to wait " . She literally rolls her eyes and says she is now going to tell me for the 3rd time so , I'm not confused next time . I said o.k. tell me for the first time ' cuz this IS the FIRST time hearing. She said I told you yesterday on the phone . I said that's impossible because, I never called yesterday! I called 5 minutes before I dropped them off ! Says oops , maybe that was another person . She then says Well , Kelly told you when she came to get the dogs . I said no , she asked if my number was good . She was about to say some more when I cut her off , and said why would I leave if you said not to ? Why ? What would I benefit from that ? Just tell me why ? Needless to say merchants do not go by the customer is always right policy anymore . Even treat you rudely. That's o.k. I'll go back to my other groomer. read more

I've been taking our dogs here for at least 8 years now. The staff is incredibly caring , friendly and they take very good care of our furballs. Our dogs are big shedders( corgis) and the staff always gets an enormous amount of hair out them. One of our dogs is disabled now and they always do everything to make her comfortable. I have a Rotty-Husky with a THICK husky undercoat. These ladies do an AWESOME job grooming her and ridding her of that undercoat that sheds so badly. My pup is also VERY sensitive about her toes. They can clip her nails with NO issues. This is also the first groomer who has been able to use the dryer on her. Their prices are very reasonable and they are all very friendly. read more

I have my dog groomed here. They do a nice job at a fair price. I wish they cleaned dog teeth, also. They listen to the way I want my dog trimmed, and it always comes out nice. I once had to bring my dog back (they forgot to clip the back nails) and they were able to get him right in and take care of it right away. Super great! My lovely lil Lhaso isn't the best with grooming as she can be a bit stubborn when trimming around her feet. I was able to call and get in the next weekend without any problems. And when I went to pick up my love she was soooooooo happy!!! Typically after being groomed she is slightly irritated with me and won't look at me for a couple of hours after her haircut at Cotati Dog Grooming she was full of energy and love. giving a star because our first visit for a puppy trim looked good and it was just what I asked for. Giving second start because the people seemed nice. I didn't give any additional stars because on our second visit I asked for the same thing as our first visit - puppy trim with with feet and sani area. Unfortunately, the outcome was not good, and they charged $20 more on second visit because my puppy was too wiggly and also prices went up an additional $5 in January. They didn't inform me of this when I dropped him off for his trim and I didn't notice any information posted regarding price increase or wiggly puppy fee. It's possible that it is posted but i missed it. The puppy "trim" we got looked like a toddler got ahold of the scissors and gave himself an unsupervised bang trim. I guess that makes some sense as he was wiggly and I realize it's difficult to get a good cut if one is moving around. I don't like that it also appears that they used an electric shaver to shave very close to the skin between the eyes at the top of muzzle instead of just thinning it out by hand with shears (which they did do on our first visit). This is definitely not the classic Australian Labradoodle grooming look i was going for and definitely not what they did for us on our first visit. If you have a dog or puppy that is wiggly you may want ask their process for working with puppy to help them have a good experience and a good grooming outcome, or seek another establishment. At the very least, if you bring your pup here definitely reiterate exactly what you wish the outcome of your dogs grooming to look like and be sure to confirm cost before hand. The most concerning thing of all is, my puppy developed a new behavior after being there and I don't think it's coincidental. Each time we try to pet or play with him he growls at us and snaps and turns his head like he's going to bite us if we try to touch him. Hopefully this just a temporary behavior due to over stimulation and he's in a grumpy mood, praying it will pass. All in all, glad this silly cut is temporary and will soon grow out, and the extra cost isn't a big deal as we know grooming will forever be a big expense, but super bummed that he is growling and snapping at us now. Hope that there's someone out there that can work with wiggly puppies. Might consider giving this place a try again if I'm able to get my pup to be still for haircuts. read more

My teacup chihuahua gets petrified if anyone is near his nails with clippers. I've tried several different places in Rohnert Park/Cotati that couldn't even finish the job, he was even banned from PetSmart grooming for biting back out of fear. Miraculously, Lexi and the staff were able to take on the little beast and successfully cut his nails with no problem. I've taken my dog here a few times for nail trims. She's extremely wiggly and difficult to work with but they are always able to do her nails which is why I keep coming back. They are very nice and do it super fast too. I know that her quicks were grown out a bit, but my only complaint is that the last few times I feel like they barely cut the nails down. she has some clear nails and you can clearly see where quite a bit more could have been cut off. I'll probably be going somewhere else just because I don't feel that it's worth it. Quick but not thorough at all. :( Also they don't accept credit or debit cards which I found strange. read more

Sorry for this rating but extremely disappointed in the grooming my dog received this weekend. The cut /shave looks awful. I asked them to not cut around his rear end at all because he is extremely sensitive. This was ignored or not communicated. My pup is extremely uncomfortable now and will be for a week or so. This is probably the 4th or 5th time at this groomers will not return. Thankfully the hair will grow quickly. read more

We've always liked taking our dogs here. The girls are so nice and always do such a good job but today was our last time. We had an apt at 10:30 this morning and at 3:00 we STILL don't have her back. They told us she pooped in her crate so she has to be washed and then she will have her haircut!!! Why has she been there all this time.??? This is totally unacceptable!!! How can you expect a dog to stay in a crate all that time without going out!! Very unhappy with this happening and will use a mobile service from now on. Well worth having her back in an hour or so. I am so happy with the work that the groomers do at Cotati Dog Groomers! I have a Cocker Spaniel, and they do a beautiful job. I used to take her to a place in Santa Rosa, but my dog did not like it there at all, feet dragging, clinging to me, etc. At this place, she prances in with tail wagging and heads to the back! She loves the young ladies there, they are friendly and gentle. I recommend them to pet parents because I feel good about her being left there for a few hours while she is well taken care of. read more
