    Great food!

Food, service & ambiance, all fantastic! The seasoning was perfect! The service was amazing, from the hostess, waitress, cook, to the person bussing the tables.

We have never eaten at this location. We stopped going after the one in Scott burned down. We will be going to this one for lunch at least once a week. Food was great, service was great!! We had the fried pork chops and they were cooked to perfection!!!

I am so happy this was recommended to me. If I ever build up enough motivation to write a book on the best burger joints in each state, this place would definitely be a finalist for Arkansas. Considering it's only a VERY short walk from the Capital, the décor inside was politically relevant. Signs, stickers, and shirts were on the walls and, don't worry, it's bipartisan. Ample parking and awesome staff! My server (whom I wish I remember her name) was amazing. She made sure I was well taken care of, and even though they were busy, she never made me feel like she was rushing off somewhere else. As for the food, well, I sort of spilled the beans above. Now, they have a meal that comes in a hubcap (yes, a hubcap), but there was no way I was going to be able to get through a one pound burger with sides. So, it was "only" a regular half pounder with fries. Again, they were busy, but my food was out in no time at all, and obviously fresh (not frozen). The burger was expertly seasoned and moist. Not grease dripping all over the place moist...good burger moist. As good as the burger was, the fries matched. Lightly salted and a nice crispy outside and soft inside. In fact, they were still very hot by the time I got to the end! If you are here, don't skip this place. You will not be sorry.

Stopped by this place because it was within walking distance from the capital building in Little Rock. The interior was decorated with hundreds of campaign signs. I had the "Thursday Special" (Fried Chicken and two sides). It was delicious! Customer service was excellent. Quick to top off the iced tea.

Great spot for lunch. Great good & service. I had chicken fried steak with fried green tomatoes, great northern beans, & jalapeño cornbread. My husband had hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra, & jalapeño cornbread. Everything was so good.

Cotham's is truly a gem in Little Rock! Everything on the menu is outstanding! Great menu selection including salads, sandwiches, daily specials, and amazing desserts like the Mississippi Mud Pie or fried pies. I personally love getting a big ol hubcap burger & an order of corn fritters delivered with Bite Squad (20% off with coupon local20). Even the Lugnut Cheeseburger from the kids menu is still pretty sizable! The only way Cotham's could get any better is if they were open for dinner or on the weekend.

    Cooked just right.

Cotham's Mercantile has been on my foodie visit list for many years. Unfortunately, by the time I had opportunity to get to it, the original spot had burned down. This was a disappointment but the new place, Cotham's in the City is the old business transferred in tact and is a very worth continuation. It is in an oldish style building reminiscent of the '50's and plastered with busy memorabilia according to prevailing style (which I wish was greatly toned down). My wife and I went there and between us tried the Hubcap Burger, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Onion Rings and Cole Slaw. The place was packed but our order came out fairly quickly and everything was top notch. The burger was the full 16 oz patty and the meat well flavored, the chicken sandwich very good but a little smallish for the price, the fried tomatoes the best I have ever seen and the onion rings the best my wife had ever seen except the crust was a little tough for me, still very good. The Cole slaw, likewise, was very good. The meat was ordered with a little pink inside departing from their usual well done, and our waitress, very attentive and professional, made it happen. The meat came out cooked just right. I didn't see any of the problems mentioned in some of the other reviews. This place is top notch: a little pricey but not out of order for the times. Don't miss an opportunity to try it out. Kingwood Bot

After being added to the waitlist, we grabbed drinks at the bar and waited outside for our table. About 25 minutes later, we checked back in with the hostess, only to find out that the iPad they use to manage the waitlist had died. She apologized, and we were seated shortly afterward. However, it left us wondering how much longer we would have waited had we not checked in ourselves. To make matters more frustrating, we noticed at least one party that arrived after us was seated before we were. Unfortunately, the service didn't improve after we were seated. We sat at our table for about 10 minutes without being greeted by anyone. Several servers walked past, made eye contact with us, and continued on without offering menus, water, or even letting us know someone would be with us shortly. After waiting with no acknowledgment at all, we decided to leave. I understand that busy weekends can lead to delays, and mistakes like technology issues happen. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication and attentiveness throughout our visit. An acknowledgment or update would have gone a long way. We left feeling overlooked and unwelcome, and can't recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

My wife also had a couple of cocktails and a few glasses of wine. There was a lot that we enjoyed. The oysters and scallops were fantastic, and both desserts were excellent. The bread and butter were also very good. My wife thought the wine selection was excellent as well. Unfortunately, there were a few things that kept the experience from being as good as it could have been. The biggest disappointment was the duck breast. The flavor was good, but the fat wasn't rendered properly and the skin wasn't crispy. The result was a chewy, rubbery texture that made the dish difficult to enjoy. My wife's walleye was cooked well, but the blueberry sauce was so strong that it overwhelmed much of the fish's flavor. The cocktails were okay--certainly drinkable, but not a standout. We also found a plastic bread bag tie in my wife's salad. We pointed it out to our waiter, who removed it from the table, but there was no apology, explanation, replacement salad, or any acknowledgment beyond taking it away. Finding a foreign object in your food is unfortunate; having it essentially ignored was disappointing. One other thing we noticed was that the sides felt like an afterthought. Both entrées came with the same carrots and Brussels sprouts. They were fine, but nothing particularly memorable, and serving the exact same sides with very different dishes made the entrées feel less thoughtfully composed. The service was generally good, although somewhat slow. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, but he also didn't seem especially familiar with the menu at times. Overall, this was a mixed experience, especially with a price tag north of $300. The appetizers, desserts, and wine were the highlights of the evening. There were moments where the meal was genuinely excellent, but the issues with both entrées, the uninspired sides, and the lack of response to finding a bread tie in the salad kept it from feeling like the special anniversary dinner we had hoped for.

I've had some enjoyable dining experiences here with my family so I was excited to return with my wife on a visit to Little Rock. They put out a pretty good quality product, but we were sadly underwhelmed with the technique and flavors. A friend of mine made the comment that for as long as they've been around, perhaps they have not evolved enough during that time but nonetheless it is no surprise that they continue to bring in the clientele they do. It wasn't our favorite but it's a pretty nice spot that many would enjoy.

Funny, but right next door is a place that bills itself as great Cajun/Creole food, but the menu here easily showed itself as a great, if not better, option. The shrimp and grits definitely lived up to its hype! I ordered the half order of shrimp and grits, the grits were perfectly made and also came with six of the most juiciest shrimps. The only thing that I would change about this dish is to either make it slightly cheaper, because it was pretty pricey for the small amount of food that you get, or there should be a little bit more grits. Other than that, the meal was great. The waitress that I had was very attentive and professional, she helped me with everything that I needed and was timely when it came to placing the order and serving food.
