Placed an order for our work that was $250. We drove 20 minutes to their location because usually it has quality food, and first class service, but unfortunately today was not the case. When we got back we were missing two items. I called them and they continued to argue with me how they put all the food in the bag. Like I told the worker, I have all the food in front of me and we are missing 2 burritos. His response was, I don't know what you want me to do. UNBELIEVEABLE!!! We live less then a minute away from this restaurant and eat here all the time! Upon arriving at home we realized that they forgot our 2 orders of hot carrots that we paid for so we went back WITH our receipt and Jackie would not give us our carrots because apparently we had to also call to tell them they forgot our carrots?!? I am just loving this taco shop. Looks like a dump in the middle of nowhere from the outside but nice and clean inside. It was baking hot both times we've been by. Over 100 but they keep the AC churning along inside. Really nice people working the counter. I ordered their Huevos Rancheros which were filling and full of flavor. So filling that I gave my corn tortillas to our friends. Our kids got bean and cheese burritos, rolled tacos and one chose a Flying Saucer (I suspect solely for the name). I was drooling at the sight of the Flying Saucer (a plateful of fresh tostado) and have earmarked it for lunch tomorrow. Lots of tv.s inside. Clean and well stocked salsa bar. I don't normally review places I eat, but as someone who eats A LOT of mexican food I felt compelled to let people know just how good it is. I got the Carne Asada Torta and it was DELICIOUS the meat was tender there was the perfect amount of beans,guac, and lettuce the roll was perfectly toasted and it was HUGE. I ordered a Carne Asada Burrito as well as i frequently do because the torta wasn't enough (small) but I was so full after eating this torta I gave it to my buddy who said it was the best he'd ever had. I hadn't been here in quite a few years, and I just needed a quick meal option. We ordered two fish tacos, a burrito of some kind, a cheese Quesadilla, and a carne asada fries. Everything came to almost 30.00 which was a bit shocking. The fries alone were almost $10.00. I will say the portions are pretty good for the cost, but 2 out of 4 people did not feel well after, and yes I know it's Mexican food, but it was a different kind of unwell. Please Please Please lay off the sour cream. It's frankly shocking how much you slather on 3 rolled tacos. The menus says '3 rolled tacos with guacamole' but I could not detect a trace of guacamole under the mountain of sour cream. I get it avocados are expensive, but if you're only going to give a little bit of guacamole, then please, only give me a bit sour cream. On principle alone, two stars is generous. We love the Lemon Grove Cotijas so much, sometimes we eat there several times a week. So we thought it was good news that there's one in Santee as well. But before we even had to worry about that, the cashier pulled what seemed like a scam he probably pulls on everyone: As if it weren't annoying enough that he wouldn't let us finish a word without interupting with "ANYTHING ELSE?", our total was $14.95, which would make our change from a $20 an easy $5.05. That's a five dollar bill, and a nickle. But no. He gives us four 1's and a nickle, and obviously hoped this would not be questioned. He ignored my husband trying to call back at him several times (you could tell he heard him) and when he finally answers and challenged about it, he gives a lame excuse and laughs it off, kinda looks at me funny, and you could just tell this is a regular scam he runs on people. Watch out for it! So of course, after we ruined his day with integrity, I just had a feeling he was going to tell the cook to put something in my husbands burrito....and low and behold, a lemon wedge was jammed in there, rhine and all....as if anyone would believe that was a "mistake". So if you call these criminals out, you get punished for it. Awesome! In addition to this crap, my burrito was stuffed with french fries. WTF.
