Once we connected, we were upfront about our budget, but she repeatedly steered us toward higher priced options and was not transparent about individual product costs. She encouraged us to apply for store credit through Wells Fargo, and I was approved for significantly more than the cost of the flooring we were considering (probably a red flag warning that they will attempt to take you for more than you want to spend). Later that week, she came to our home for a site assessment. While friendly during the visit, she remained vague about installation costs. As she left, she promised to email a detailed quote within a day or two. After a full week with no word, I had to follow up. She responded several hours later with an estimate. The product pricing stayed within what we discussed, but the labor portion was estimated, but listed as "variable," with no fixed amount or not-to-exceed" number. Additionally, she couldn't even guarantee the final cost or confirm they could complete the job. As a contractor myself (in IT), I'm accustomed to providing customers with clear, capped pricing and a promise we will complete the work before they commit, especially on installation work. Its not as if I was hiding anything from her. She had full access to the home for her assessment. If she lacked expertise to properly evaluate the job, they should have sent a more qualified person. This lack of clarity made it impossible to move forward with confidence. After sending the quote, she never followed up and I haven't spoken to her since. Overall, Francine came across as inattentive, inexperienced and unreliable. We ended up purchasing our flooring elsewhere, and based on this experience, I would recommend doing the same.

Long story short we had to rip out the sub plate/sand down some sub flooring and seal the concrete slab to attack the urine. We had two companies come in and quote us 5200 and 6900 for the cutting/treatment and replacement of what they had to remove. Kenny told us that he can do everything at a fraction of the cost and start ASAP. We trusted him and he knocked it out of the park. He was able to get rid of 98.8% of the smell. So by 435 he arrived he didn't have samples so we focused on measurements. He took very detailed measurements and advised he would provide a quote for just upstairs and both up and downstairs. He advised he would provide the measurements and quotes a couple of days later. The price was a couple hundred less than the guy I decided to go with. I only went with the other guy because of the delay in receiving the quote. I think they will do a great job if you decide to go with them.

Timeline: * Tuesday evening - went to the store, met Jim, told him I needed carpets ASAP. * Wednesday morning - Jim himself came by to visit and take measurements * Wednesday afternoon - Jim texted me some pictures of their carpets they had in stock and emailed estimates. * Wednesday evening - I picked one of the in stock carpets and paid the deposit (50%). * Thursday - I gave a key to the unit to Jim. Jim committed to having carpets done early the following week. * Friday - Jim said a slot opened up on his installers schedule sooner, and he had them replace the carpets that day. Also they were actually cheaper than another quote I got from a flooring store, and similar to Home Depot. I had used Home Depot once before and I was not a fan of their installation quality (or honestly their scheduling), so was looking for someone else.
