Francine is one of the least helpful salespeople I've ever encountered. From the moment we entered the store, it was difficult to get her attention. Once we connected, we were upfront about our budget, but she repeatedly steered us toward higher priced options and was not transparent about individual product costs. She encouraged us to apply for store credit through Wells Fargo, and I was approved for significantly more than the cost of the flooring we were considering (probably a red flag warning that they will attempt to take you for more than you want to spend). Later that week, she came to our home for a site assessment. While friendly during the visit, she remained vague about installation costs. As she left, she promised to email a detailed quote within a day or two. After a full week with no word, I had to follow up. She responded several hours later with an estimate. The product pricing stayed within what we discussed, but the labor portion was estimated, but listed as "variable," with no fixed amount or not-to-exceed" number. Additionally, she couldn't even guarantee the final cost or confirm they could complete the job. As a contractor myself (in IT), I'm accustomed to providing customers with clear, capped pricing and a promise we will complete the work before they commit, especially on installation work. Its not as if I was hiding anything from her. She had full access to the home for her assessment. If she lacked expertise to properly evaluate the job, they should have sent a more qualified person. This lack of clarity made it impossible to move forward with confidence. After sending the quote, she never followed up and I haven't spoken to her since. Overall, Francine came across as inattentive, inexperienced and unreliable. We ended up purchasing our flooring elsewhere, and based on this experience, I would recommend doing the same. read more

Walked in the store, found the floor we liked, while I was on a time crunch, I asked the sales man Robert, how long it would take to get to me, he stated 10 days to two weeks at the most, a month later I got my floor. After the two weeks of placing the order, I called them various times leaving him a message over the phone he never got back to me. I went to The Floor Store at the recommendation of a neighbor to look for a 4-ft oak transition piece. Bryan spent a significant amount of time looking through their stash to find one to match the broken piece I brought in. We weren't able to find an exact match, so the only option was to order one with an approximate cost north of $100 - too much in my mind for what I needed. There was, however, one 7-ft strip that I said would probably work if I sanded and stained to the right shade. They just offered it to me free of charge! How often does that happen? Our carpet purchase and installation through The Floor Store (Santa Rosa) worked perfectly. We had a narrow time frame before our furniture was to be delivered to our new house but once we had chosen our carpets from a wide selection, Mark Davis pulled out all the stops and got the order in early enough to allow enough time for delivery and installation. The latter went very smoothly too; the old carpets and material were removed and our three bedroom carpets were laid quickly and efficiently. I needed a special transition trim piece for vinyl flooring to replace a cheap veneer POS I purchased from Friedman Brothers that delaminated and needed replacement after just one year. None of the box stores had quality vinyl transition pieces, just particle board garbage with a thin, poorly adhered wood-grain sticker on it. After wasted trips to Home Cheapo and Friedman's, it occurred to me that I would need to visit the professionals at The Floor Store on Santa Rosa Ave to find the right product in the right color that would not fail when exposed to moisture. Be Aware When Buying Carpet!! The floor store employees were kind, helpful, and accommodating for the purchase of vinyl flooring in our entire house. We loved the outcome. Unfortunately the carpet install in our master bedroom was done by a different department (carpet), and based on the size of our master bedroom the carpet roll was not wide enough to use a single roll of carpet. Instead our room has two pieces of carpet with visible seam. Despite two "repairs" to the seam the employee's are limited to fixing a bad carpet install, not much improvement. Additionally even after 7 months the carpet pile did not improve it is low on parts and higher on others. The best option would have been to provide us the customer during the initial bedroom measurement and quote an explanation of carpet roll sizes for big rooms (12ft, 13ft, 15ft) and provide the customer with the decision of having a seam or paying more for larger carpet roll. Or even recommend carpet types that hide seams better. We are now going to enjoy lovely flooring and try to ignore the poor quality of our bedroom carpet for years to come. read more

We are very pleased with our experience with the sales and installation of our wood floors from the staff of the floor store. Brian Powell was our sales person, and did a excellent job throughout the entire process of selecting our floors to the measurement of our home. Gustavo, our installer, is not just an installer, he is a craftsman! He took great care and time to give us a perfect installation of our floors. We had a terrible experience with the installation of new carpet and floor from this Floor Store location. I highly caution anyone from hiring installers from this location. This is what happened: 1. The crew arrived in a truck that was too small--a mini-up. As a result, they had to make many trips to the store. Why not an official store truck? This was planned weeks in advance. Why weren't they prepared? 2. They left the first day after 5 hours, saying they were done. Why not work longer to get it done? The second day they were 1.5 hours late. The store told me they were stuck in traffic and were 5 minutes away. They arrived an hour later and told me they had to "find and cut the carpet." Well, that wasn't true, as they laid out the carpet in my driveway and cut it there! In my driveway! I doubt the cutting job was accurate. And this was AFTER one of them took over an hour to go back to get MORE of the carpet from the store--while the other installer took a break (of 30-60 minutes)--he told me the other guy went to get a tool from a hardware store. Why lie? 3. They opened up every box of flooring even though I asked them not to--as we suspected one wasn't necessary and could be returned. When I pointed this out, they said to tape it up and no one would notice. What? Guess what? That's not the case. It has to be sealed! Now, I have a full extra box I can't return. 4. They chipped the walls and paint in several places. They were very eager to leave at 6:45 pm on a Saturday. Probably because they knew what they had done and wanted to get out fast. 5. There's carpet sticking up and out in places it shouldn't be. Overall, it's a poor installation job. 6. Someone from the store called me to check in on how things went, and I gave her these details. She sounded sincere and shocked and confirmed that carpet should be cut at the warehouse NOT in my driveway. She said this feedback was "going to the top" and I would get a call back. Instead, looks as if my feedback went into the garbage. This was a joke. So disappointing. And why take my feedback and do nothing? I even called the store to try to check in to see if someone would call me back. No call back. read more

We are letting folks know that doing business with the Floor Store is not as wonderful as they would like you to believe. And when they "screw up" (being generous here) it's the customer who pays the price. And in our case the cost of the nightmare they have left us is horrific. We had them install new vinyl "hardwood" flooring on two floors a few years back and found way too late that the product was inferior (no longer produced by manufacturer) and the installation disastrous. They have left us with a house FULL OF TRIP HAZARDS with more continuing to pop up, and more gaps between planks continuing to appear. Despite Floor Store sending a fixer several times for unsuccessful attempts to resolve the problems they finally washed their hands of us; they sent a so-called "independent expert" out to make a "3rd-party assessment". (I.e., provide them paper to justify their damage.) The "expert" concluded (we learned later after he was long gone) that the bad seams and chipping of plank ends was due to a dishwasher somehow sending moisture 2 feet away from ONE of the problem spots (has never leaked or shown seepage, etc.) This totally disregarded the four other (then) locations, both up and downstairs, none anywhere near the dishwasher or any other source of moisture. Bottom line is that we are out well over $17000 and a house worth less now than when they started. None of the competitors we have had estimate repair/replacement can recommend anything other than total removal and starting over. Without question the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor in over 50 years and the mind boggles that these folks are licensed in this state. (We have retained the pieces from planks that have chipped off, as well as photos of damage and gaps before unsuccessful attempts at repair were made) Heaven help you if you are thinking of doing business with these guys. read more

We used The Floor Store recently to have new Luxury Vinyl Planks (LVP) installed in our home. Their prices are competitive along with a large selection. We had Gustavo as our Installer as I had read previous reviews and are happy that we requested & waited for him. He is a master craftsman who truly cares about customer satisfaction. He showed up as scheduled and worked hard until the job was complete. Gustavo is an asset to the floor store as he will keep people coming back. Hank, who manages the Installation dept., was good to deal with as well. He had a pleasant demeanor and communicated install dates etc. What I was most impressed with was the credit we were given for unopened boxes of LVP (stocked material) along with a refund of other materials that were not used on the job. Our Canopy luxury vinyl planks just look awesome. He had the best recommendation for a furniture mover too to get everything out of the home, then Gustavo doing all the demolition and all the prep work, and installing the luxury vinyl planks that just looked fantastic. Everything feels solid, clean and professionally done and it only took three days total. Adding the quarter round and so forth was the finishing touch, but we really picked the top of the line luxury vinyl planks, and so happy we did and chose the right neutral color to go with our home with all the wood walls without competing with the look, they totally complimented each other. So kudos to Mark D and the Floor Store in Santa Rosa. We're looking forward to coming back and getting new carpeting upstairs in our home this spring. read more

They have a great selection but the service is really poor. I'm replacing about 1300 ft of flooring in my home with hardwood. I walked in and asked where I might find engineered hardwood and was ignored by the two people at the frontdesk. Eventually one of them pointed to his left side and let me know that that entire side of the store was hardwoods. That was all the service that I received. I walked around the empty store by myself, eventually one other customer came in but none of the seven people working could be bothered to help me or check in on me. After 15 minutes of being ignored I walked out. The person helping the one other customer had a desk by the exit and asked as I walked out of I had been helped. I said no, but at that point I was already upset with them. Apparently they really just didn't want my business. read more
