I don't buy my contacts there because they're almost double the price of what I can buy them for at Costco. They will give you a printed prescription if you ask. My insurance now covers the $35 for the imaging of the back of my eye but even before it was covered it was well worth the $35 to not have half a day where I cannot see because I had my pupils dilated. I'm taking off a star because of a couple issues. I brought my glasses in to have the prescription read last year and it was never entered into my chart I was then told I would need to make an appointment to bring them in for a second time to have them read. It's really inconvenient to have to take off time from work for a mistake they made as they're not open on Saturdays. The second issue being that the eye doctor seemed really annoyed with me that I haven't gotten the new glasses she wants me to get. I have had the same glasses for about 10 years and don't feel I am having issues with seeing out of them--in fact I still wear them instead of my contacts if I am doing up close work like embroidery. When I asked if the new prescription was much different than the glasses I already have they were unable to tell me since they read and then didn't enter the prescription. They asked if I brought my glasses with me--why would I when I brought them last year? They also seemed annoyed that I am not wearing readers when I use the computer which I explained was because they give me a headache. I was told to use a lower power, which would only be available somewhere online, and should hold the lens up to light to see if they look distorted--hard to do when buying online. I decided not to explain that I had tried a couple different strengths and found they all gave me a headache. Just didn't sit super well with me to feel like I'm trying to explain I'm seeing well and I'm being told I just need to buy the new glasses and I have to wear readers. My parents had a similar feeling about their eye visits with the same eye doctor. I'll give them another shot but after that I'll ask to see someone else.

They had arrived and had been sitting in the back room. No biggie I guess. I then waited around half an hour while the salesperson tried to get the lenses in, only for him to tell me he'd ordered the wrong size and they were too small for the frame. He assured me he would order the correct pair, and it would only take about another week to arrive. He once again told me he would call me to let me know when the new lenses arrived. I waited over another two weeks and had not heard anything. I called the store, only to be greeted by the same employee who sounded frantic when he realized he had not ordered my lenses. He told me they hadn't arrived yet and would let me know when they have. I'm over two months into this whole process and still don't have lenses to fit my frames. The employees at this location don't know what they're doing, and do not do their job correctly. Just save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else.

I had an appointment for 3:20pm and arrive early. Waited to check in while the receptionist was checking someone out. I was not greeted by anyone while I was there. I had to let the receptionist know I'm here for an appointment and asked if I could look at some glasses while I waited. She did not come get me after handling the previous customer not did anyone else that was working. There were only 2 other customers already being helped. I went back to check with the receptionist and she said, " Oh yeah, you have an appt right?". I checked in and gave her my insurance information and she was surprised at how much my insurance covered. I waitd to be called for my exam and thee are multiple people who came in and were greeted kindly and were taken care of right away. I waited 30mins and no exam. When walked up to talk to the receptionist and other worker asking when my exam is going to be, they both looked at each other and said they will need to go check. As they replied, a couple walked in and their attention instantly turned to them and greeted them and started assisting them right in front of me. I literally had to say just cancel my appointment, it's clear that no one here wants to help me. I am an Asian women, all the customers were either white or black. No other customer was treated in this disrespectful manner for the time that I was there. I haven't felt this much disrespect in a long time and will never being going back here.

At my consultation, I brought my last 10 years worth of prescriptions and asked a number of questions. Dr Skolaski said that I was a "great candidate" for LASIK and made any complications sound minimal, temporary and unlikely. Less than 4 months after LASIK, my astigmatism was back to what it was before LASIK. Now a year after LASIK, my eyes are still always sore and strained and burning. My left eye feels like it has a pin in it. The whites of my eyes are so full of red lines that they look yellow. At my followup appointments, Skolaski's response to my concerns was telling me to stay hydrated. The doctors I am seeing now have said this is almost certainly permanent. TLC should have told me there was a chance of this so I could have made an informed decision. I spent thousands of dollars on this surgery and since then have spent hundreds trying to find relief for my eyes. This appears to be a common outcome based on reviews I am finding online now, along with TLC's disregard for people who have negative results. They have you sign a document acknowledging a number of possible risks, but they do not tell you about these risks at the consultation, how likely they are, what you are most at risk for, or how awful it will make your daily life. A medical professional should meet a certain standard instead of just trying to make a sale. Trusting TLC is the worst decision of my life. This is miserable.

I suspect these are issues affecting the company overall, but the inability of floor staff to help close the loop on botched deliveries for purchased appliances quickly is aggravating. On the balance, a softer sell and giving staff more power to see what's going on across the delivery systems for the company would go a long way. Otherwise, great products and a clean store. The waiting area was full of loud children and a man in his 40's that obviously didn't know it's rude to pass gas in public (loud and stinky!!!). The doctor was nice and thorough and they had a good selection of frames, although they were a tad on the pricier side. What disappointed me was that if you have insurance (and mine only paid about $25 of a $280 bill) that the bogo does not apply. That was the ONLY reason why I choose a department store optical center over a speciality practice. Had I known that I wouldn't have never made an appt....they conveniently tell you this at the end, AFTER you spend an hour in the exam room and time picking out the perfect frame......scam!
