I don't buy my contacts there because they're almost double the price of what I can buy them for at Costco. They will give you a printed prescription if you ask. My insurance now covers the $35 for the imaging of the back of my eye but even before it was covered it was well worth the $35 to not have half a day where I cannot see because I had my pupils dilated. I'm taking off a star because of a couple issues. I brought my glasses in to have the prescription read last year and it was never entered into my chart I was then told I would need to make an appointment to bring them in for a second time to have them read. It's really inconvenient to have to take off time from work for a mistake they made as they're not open on Saturdays. The second issue being that the eye doctor seemed really annoyed with me that I haven't gotten the new glasses she wants me to get. I have had the same glasses for about 10 years and don't feel I am having issues with seeing out of them--in fact I still wear them instead of my contacts if I am doing up close work like embroidery. When I asked if the new prescription was much different than the glasses I already have they were unable to tell me since they read and then didn't enter the prescription. They asked if I brought my glasses with me--why would I when I brought them last year? They also seemed annoyed that I am not wearing readers when I use the computer which I explained was because they give me a headache. I was told to use a lower power, which would only be available somewhere online, and should hold the lens up to light to see if they look distorted--hard to do when buying online. I decided not to explain that I had tried a couple different strengths and found they all gave me a headache. Just didn't sit super well with me to feel like I'm trying to explain I'm seeing well and I'm being told I just need to buy the new glasses and I have to wear readers. My parents had a similar feeling about their eye visits with the same eye doctor. I'll give them another shot but after that I'll ask to see someone else.

From the time I scheduled the appointment to the actual appointment there were several checks on insurance coverage and payment, but not one question why I am making the appointments. I do undertstand the need to get paid for service but this should have tipped me off that the business has more of a transactional focus than a care focus. My appointment was with Dr. Kovacs and she was very professional and pleasant. Thorough, not rushed and explained everything. I would recommend her. The reception and sales staff on the other hand couldn't seem to be bothered. I had better service at the DMV. Very cold and unpleasant. Frankly, I could not wait to leave even though ordering glasses and contact lenses online or at another store is an inconvenience. Perhaps its because its a realtively new location or just lack of training. I do prefer working with local businesses but this expereince was unfortunately dissapointing.

I found Wright Vision Care online, looked at the reviews, and took a shot. So glad that I did! The staff is absolutely friendly and they are knowledgeable! They have an option for checking your eyes without dilation. They gave excellent recommendations for new glasses and even fixed problems with my then-current glasses, which I did not get from there. And they called a week after I picked up my new glasses to make sure everything was still working well. So glad that we are now patients of this terrific place!

Cons: A little light on the info with respect to the actual procedure and what to expect afterwards. I did a ton of research before settling on TLC. I read a bunch, watched youtube videos of the procedure, and even visited multiple Lasik vendors in Madison to get a comparison. I chose TLC because they were the most braggy about their equipment and their surgeon. They have state of the art lasers and a surgeon that has done 100,000+ surgeries. They are a bit of a factory, but that's kind of what I wanted. I wanted what I considered to be major eye surgery to be just another day at the office for the guy fixing my eyes. I don't want to be practiced on, I want an expert that finds my case slightly boring. Which is where I think the source of my criticism that they were light on the info comes from. I think because they pump people out, they don't give excess info and just go through the motions. I had to ask every time what each instrument did and what they were doing, because otherwise, they didn't explain, unless asked. When asked they were happy to answer, but I wanted them to be a little more forthcoming. I was a textbook case, my vision was -3.00/-3.50 with the tiniest astigmatism in one eye. So slight that my eye doctor that I've gone to for the past 10 years never bothered to mention it to me. And now I see perfectly! The actual procedure is really cool, but also very uncomfortable. You just have to get through it. The cost is high, it's like paying for a lifetime of glasses and contacts all at once, but the ultimate convenience factor and benefits are very high. Overall, worth it.

My most recent purchase has been a nightmare. Unfortunately the Lab and the stores are putting out different products. Fast forward to an appt at this east side madison store. They had no idea I was coming. They refused to help me stating I'd have to drive to Janesville. The continued to push me off. Finally I asked for a refund. A gentleman identified himself with the purpose of impersonating a higher level manager. In fact, he was the assistant manager. This gentleman took my glasses from me and told me he refunded the amount. He didn't. He lied. And he now took my property, my collateral. Did I mentioned he laughed at my disability? Carlos M should never be allowed to serve the people of Madison is any form. Stanton says they won't fire him, which tells me they accept his actions . Stay away from this store and company. They will give you a bad eye exam, already worn frames and poorly cut lenses. Then they will lie to you, steal your property and hope you just go away. Never believe their sales. Their sale reps do whatever they want anyway. It's funky math. Why are they using a calculator instead of their system? Total nightmare. It worse than explained, but we only have so much time.

She did not come get me after handling the previous customer not did anyone else that was working. There were only 2 other customers already being helped. I went back to check with the receptionist and she said, " Oh yeah, you have an appt right?". I checked in and gave her my insurance information and she was surprised at how much my insurance covered. I waitd to be called for my exam and thee are multiple people who came in and were greeted kindly and were taken care of right away. I waited 30mins and no exam. When walked up to talk to the receptionist and other worker asking when my exam is going to be, they both looked at each other and said they will need to go check. As they replied, a couple walked in and their attention instantly turned to them and greeted them and started assisting them right in front of me. I literally had to say just cancel my appointment, it's clear that no one here wants to help me. I am an Asian women, all the customers were either white or black.
