I just had to write about our amazing brunch! We had the BEST experience here. The Bloody Mary, shrimp and grits and stuffed French toast was delicious! And the best part was our server Nick. He was so kind and made my daughter's MONTH! She is on the spectrum and is a huge Hell's Kitchen fan. Nick let her sit at the "chef's table" and watch the cooks! Wow. Came here for my girlfriend's birthday and CC Kitchen exceeded all expectations. Reyan was our server and provided exceptional service and recommendations. I'll make this easy... We started with the chopped salad and ahi tuna app (spicy but paired well with plantain chips). Highly recommend both. For entrees, we ordered the Cajun Ribeye (med rare), my girlfriend got the Petite Filet, and mashed potatoes and asparagus for sides. All went down smooth with The Prisoner (Napa red wine blend). And Reyan treated us with the most amazing New York Blackout Cake. Not gonna lie, never expected to pay this much for dinner in Jackson County, but the food, service, and experience were incredible. Stumbled upon this restaurant without knowing that it was fine dining! My boyfriend and I were in jeans and sweaters when we walked in. Was greeted by the hostess and we knew we were out of place once we saw the interior decor. We just had lunch, so we decided to get drinks and an appetizer to see what the rave is about. The confit duck egg rolls was mediocre at best (it was a little bit on the dry side) and their sweet orange chili sauce can be found in any Asian supermarkets. However, their pumpkin White Russian was nicely made and their Estrella damm craft beer was delicious. I will come back here and try their main courses to make my final judgments. read more

I take my 5 star ratings seriously first and foremost. I don't hand them out that often and if I do, it was earned. The Cotton Calf Kitchen really deserves 6 stars in my opinion but since they only give me 5 to work with, I'll make it work. This place is rare in this area, when I say rare I mean nothing within a 30 mile radius like it. Chateau Elan can't touch it....service or quality. Let me start with the service. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and didn't hover. When I needed him he just appeared. The food is the best I've had in a while. Everything cooked to perfection and portioned perfectly. We had the maple bacon appetizer which in itself is a meal. Two thick cut slices of bacon with a bourbon maple glaze dipping sauce. This bacon came straight from the heavens, no doubt about it. We both ordered ribeyes and in hindsight we could have shared one. Two huge steaks come out on sizzling plates cooked perfectly. Two sides, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The creamed spinach is a must, much like the bacon. Of course we couldn't leave without dessert and the warm apple tart was home made, and sooooo good! The atmosphere is an upscale, Pottery Barn/Restoration Hardware feel. Quirky fixtures and furniture and linen table cloths. The kitchen is open with limited high seating around the "chef's table" overlooking the action. Most of the dining area is in view of the kitchen so you can see the precision with which the chef works. He runs a tight ship and doesn't let anything out of the kitchen without his approval. Bottom line, this place is a diamond in the Jackson County rough! I highly recommend it and will be back soon....that is as soon as I can afford it! It's not a cheap place to eat so don't go thinking you'll spend $50 for dinner. There's a Cracker Barrel across the interstate if you want to spend less! read more

Wow. Let me start off by saying - what an unexpected jewel. I found this restaurant thanks to Yelp and the reviews and boy were we pleased. In town for race weekend @ Road Atlanta, we were looking for a good dinner spot. It was going to be Cracker Barrel. Which I love. Thankfully, we chose the Cotton Calf instead. The service: AMAZING. What I really loved, was how symbiotically the whole staff worked. Our waiter was totally awesome and positive, but everyone took turns serving food, clearing tables, filling water glasses, and checking in on us. ALL with a positive attitude. (And coming from New York, this was a totally welcome treat!) The atmosphere: really cool. One of the servers told us they'd only been open for about six months, but the decor was spot on. Really cool and trendy looking but didn't look like it was trying too hard like some places. Kudos to the designer. The layout is simple. Long and rectangular, with a bar seating on one side and dining seating on the other, bother anchoring the open kitchen design. This was my favorite aspect, because since we were seated @ one of the half rounded booths across from the kitchen, we had the best view. Watching the hustle in the kitchen made you really feel like part of the action and gave us a (sort of) birds eye view of the quality of service and attention to detail. The food: very delicious and straightforward. What I mean by straightforward is that, when you go to a steakhouse and order a filet (which my boyfriend ordered) medium, you have a certain expectation. And his expectation was met. On every level, with every dish. The appetizers (oysters and shrimp cocktail) ON POINT. my heirloom tomato Salad. Enough for three. Grilled asparagus was HUGE and PERFECT (mind you, I cook @ home and am really picky about these things!) my boyfriends favorite: the mashed potatoes. Oh. And the creamed corn was mine. @ the recommendation of our server, we ordered the key lime tart. Ho-lee-crap. It was the best we've ever had. Can't wait to go back! My friend and neighbor had nothing but good things to say about this place since it opened. She put together a couples night out and we came here. The location is great, lots of space inside and ample parking outside. It is beautifully decorated, very classy yet industrial. They have happy hour from 4-7 where the beer and wine is half off. We started the night there in the "bar" section. I had deviled eggs and caviar while I sipped on some wine. This was phenomenal; totally worth the $18 price tag. I wish their appetizers could be half off during happy hour - that would be amazing! Our waitress here was on top of things & friendly, can't remember her name.. Around 7:30 we moved to the dining room for dinner. We had Ken as our server and he was excellent; knowledgable, approachable and made great recommendations. I ordered the Chilean Seabass and sautéed spinach and garlic. My fiancé ordered the Porterhouse and mashed potatoes. We also had seared ahi tuna. Everyone in our group was more than satisfied. They all enjoyed their entrees. Cotton Calf Kitchen was a solid 5 stars in my opinion. Is it pricey? Yes, but the food and service make it ok. The place was packed, there was even a wait. This area needs more places like this. It's a nice change from seeing chain restaurants and bbq places. Can't wait to be back! read more

Wow, what a fantastic meal. We started with the thick cut bacon. Then the heirloom tomato salad. At this point we were stuffed, but it gets better. I ordered the Cajun ribeye and my wife ordered the petite NY strip. Both came out cooked to perfection sizzling on the plate! For sides I highly recommend the creamed corn and the jumbo baked potato. The corn was spiced just perfectly. To finish things off we had the NY style cheesecake that melted in your mouth. This meal was one of the best I've had in a long time. The portion sizes are gigantic, no joke. The wait staff was top notch. The atmosphere is very modern and attractive. If you prefer, you can sit at the chef's bar and watch them cook your food. We were staying overnight in the area, but we live a little over an hour away. There is no doubt we will make the trip again only next time we'll be bringing our friends!!! read more

My wife and I were in at Chateau Elan for the weekend and came across Cotton Calf on Yelp. I am glad we did! The atmosphere is fantastic, live Jazz on a Saturday night filled the restaurant with a great vibe. We had no reservation so we sat at the chefs table, I highly suggest it if a party if 4 or less. The kitchen staff was hopping and had it all under control, despite the fact there wasn't an empty seat. Our server Bridgett was excellent, she was attentive and helpful with the menu selection. I ordered the petite filet, delicious! Perfectly cooked and very tasty. As a side I ordered the southwest cream corn. The flavor was great, smoky seasoning made it the best I ever had. My wife had scallops and the chopped salad. She loved it, the salad was enough for at least 2. For dessert I ordered the blackout cake, again fantastic presentation as well as flavor and taste. We're avid users of the Green Egg, so we steered away from the steer (the steaks, that is) and opted for the full Springer chicken and salmon dish, with scallop appetizer, garlic spinach and roasted cauliflower (sides are family style) - and nothing was disappointing. The chicken and scallops stole the show: juicy, moist, flavorful - and it was /chicken./ I really wanna race about this bird: it was good. Despite our proclivity to living off the BGE, we may have to try the steaks.. Great for a nice date night out or special occasion, as our bill for two + drinks was about 100$. Finally! An excellent restaurant is now in Braselton. This is no ordinary steakhouse. Think Bones, think Chops - and then put Cotton Calf Kitchen in a category all it's own. Had dinner there last night and it was a meal to die for. Begin your meal with a choice of breads - sourdough, nut and a fruit bread, all served with their incredible herbed/spiced butter. Three of us split appetizers - Colossal Shrimp Cocktail, a crab cake and their special bacon (yes, bacon as an appetizer!). Shrimp come with a roasted pineapple cocktail sauce that was to die for and the crab cake came with a dijon aioli. A taste of their Cauliflower Parmesan soup put my mouth in heaven. Heirloom tomato salad wasn't your mother's Caprese salad. Beautiful tomatoes, walnuts, diced cucumber and red onion and gorgonzola with an incredible balsamic vinaigrette was enough for all three of us with some left over. I could have made a meal simply on this salad. The crowning glory was the 24 oz Porterhouse, cooked to perfection - aged beef, charred perfectly on the outside and butter tender on the inside. You won't find a better steak anywhere. Again, three of us split this steak and all of us loved it! Desserts - a "you won't believe how good this is" key lime tart with fresh grated lime on top will make you re-think the idea of a great dessert. Chocolate amaretto cake wasn't too sweet. Strawberries, raspberries and blueberries ringed that plate. If you're headed to Road Atlanta, you won't find a better place for a meal. Went there October 12th for my wife's birthday, on the recommendation from my daughter who's been there several times. This had been a stressful weak pior to her birthday as her family dealt with hurricane Michael in Panama City. Had a bottle of wine opened and was ask if we were ready to order and we said we just wanted to sit and enjoy a glass of wine for a minute. Upon delivery of our app the waiter informed us there are two hour blocks for reservations and we need to be mindful of the time. Our reservations was at 6 p.m. and we got our appt at 6:20. To say we were a little taken back is putting it lightly. But we said nothing and went ahead and ordered. I will give the steak a four it was very good, the potatoe was big but cool and all the condiments were on the side, had a lot better potatoe a longhorn's. Overall I thought it was overpriced and we did not appreciate being rushed. And by the way we were out of there at 7:20 way under the two-hour limit. read more

The steaks are delicious, and they have one of the best Old Fashioned cocktails I have tried. That is enough to gain my deep affection. But there's more to the story. It's amazing to find this level of quality in an town as small, personal, and friendly as Braselton. The restaurant, much like the town around it, is small enough to feel personal and allow the staff to pay close attention to the quality rather than the quantity. Great place for drinks or appetizers... but you can get a better steak at Longhorn for 1/3 the price. Go for experience or casual meet with friends. This restaurant is very expensive. That being said, I don't mind an expensive restaurant AT ALL. BUT, the service and food quality need to match the price. Our waiter last night was average at best. He cleared all the silverware and bread basket while we were still working on our appetizers. He did not follow thru on a couple of different requests and for a slow night, I would expect him to be able to keep up. He removed the plates from the table to fill the "doggie" boxes. I get it, some places do that. When we got home we found that he didn't box up all of the food on the plate. I guess he assumed we didn't want all the meat, just some of it. The food was good. Was it high-end steak house quality? Almost. We have been to Cotton Calf several times and enjoyed it. Not sure what has changed. read more

This being my very first time at cotton calf, I must say this has been a splendid visit. Serma (Seema) noticed I was enjoying a smoke bacon old fashion in the cocktail area and recommended the bourbon glazed pork chops that was comparable to my drink. It was the perfect match! Ms. Nicole who was taking care of me was kicking but at the bar and making sure I was okay throughout my entire dining experience. I must say I am very impressed by both women. Moved from PA to GA in August and have enjoyed sampling the "flavors" of the area at many local restaurants. Our visit to Cotton Calf last night (01/11/19) was absolutely amazing! We ate at the bar and were guided through the menu by the fantastic bar staff! The lump crab was awesome as was the steak and potatoes that followed. The friendly staff, great food, casual/warm atmosphere, and other "over the top" amenities put this place at the top of our list. Yes...it's a little pricy but well worth the added cost! Ask for the aioli. Everything was great! We went on a Monday, so the dining room was slow but traffic picks up on the weekends. Ask for Megan, she was the best server! I was in town for the motorcycle races at Road Atlanta. I wanted some sophisticated cuisine, something a step above waffle house. This town has really caught on fire since I was there last and there are many restaurant options to choose from. I made a reservation for one but ended up drinking and dining at the bar. The service and food were so exceptional we have come back three times in two weeks. In Georgia it's difficult to get a combination of exceptional food and service, this place exceeded my expectations in every way.
