Me and my husband went to this Waffle House last night for dinner. We arrived around 5:00. We were the only customers there. There was 2 waitresses and a cook. The cook was on her phone which she also had on speaker. She and the person she was talking to was taking very loud and using foul language. She continued to be on the phone while cooking out food. When we received the food it was awful. The sandwiches were very greasy and not fully cooked. I had asked for my hashbrowns to be crispy and they were, She was not paying attention while she cooked. We did not eat the food, but we did pay full price. Also tipped the waitress (it wasn't her fault). Let the waitress know of our concerns. She apologized. This is definitely our go-to Waffle House location. The food ilat any Waffle House is basically the same cooked the same, served the same, etc. This location is definitely above par due to the staff. Everyone is amazing! Our server, Becca, is by far the best! She remembers us, interacts with the kids, etc. My kids actually ask to go and say HI and eat there, just to interact with her. read more

First thing first. We're not from around here so this review is for my gang back home. All this is part of our Anthony Bourdain tribute to his show The Layover Atlanta. This was one of the places to go. So being a little hungover from last nights blues bar outing, we needed this. One pecan waffle was needed. Lite fluffy and large by CANADIAN standards. Btw it was Easter Sunday and yet this place was full. We sat at the counter and watched the military style kitchen deployment. It was amusing and impressive. Everybody had a role. They got our order wrong but it was probably because of my accent. I ordered 1 double pecan waffle but we got two regular pecan waffles. NP, I took one home. The next was the hash browns. Learn the lingo. Scattered, smothered and capped is the way we went. It was as promised!! Greasy salty sweet. Washed it down with a cup of black joe. Everyone was friendly and personable. Families with kids and dads with daughters. A slice of Americana. If you're not from here then you gotta eat here so you can understand all those references to similar diners in all those american movies. read more

What do you expect? It's the Waffle House. It's good for what it's good for, quick food when you got nowhere else to be.

It's alright. Your typical Waffle House. Always busy and always cold! Could use a good cleaning, though.

First of all, it is waffle house. Cheap greasy diner food. If you are not looking for this, don't come or complain. It's how waffle house is supposed to be. As someone who grew up in the south I've visited all sorts of waffle houses. This one by far is the best I've ever come to. It's the people that make it that way. Much like each waffle house varies, so do the people. I will admit I've had some bad experiences with the evening shift. Nice people but bad service and cooking. But the day shift (7-2) more than makes up for it. I now go to this restaurant more than any other just because of the amazing service and cooking of day shift. The waiting staff is excellent. My children even know them on a first name basis and love coming here. And while all the cooks on day shift are good, I have to give a personal shout out to the man they call "Leonard the great". There's a reason they call him that. Make sure he's cooking for you. And in closing, their management is even wonderful. Their district manager, Nichole, handles any situation that may arise and has gone out of her way to make up for the few times I had bad service on evening shift. Wonderful place. I want to say that these guys were great! We stopped in this morning (Sunday around 945). These guys were short staffed and having their asses handed to them. There was a wait for a seat, but once we sat down, food was quick. The 2 cooks were nonstop pumping out food and the 2 servers were as attentive as they could be. Food was good ol Waffle House breakfast. There were some complaints among a couple of customers, but you can't make everyone happy. I give 5 stars for hard workers and good food. read more

It was an afternoon visit. Not busy at all. Every table was dirty, not with dishes, just dirty. Dead flies on the table, food and crumbs under the condiments on a lot of tables and the counters. The ladies were awesome, their kindness was appreciated. But they need to be cleaning and doing their part. Our food was good, just needs a good cleaning. read more

I think I should start a Waffle House list because every Waffle House has it's own separate identity and they each deserve their own moment in the spot light. So, let's begin with this one on Highway 53 - On our way to Greenville one Sunday morning and desperate for some covered and smothered. We stop at one Waffle House a few miles south of here and it was packed!! No bueno. So, knowing that there's a Waffle House at pretty much every exit in the South, we keep it moving and sure enough, at the very next exit we find this gem. First off, it's slightly above-average on the Waffle House cleanliness scale. Let's be honest, we've all been to WH's that probably shouldn't be allowed to operate, but it's usually after a late night of partying with lots of adult beverages, so the grade on the Dept. of Health score sheet really doesn't matter much. Besides, if you do it right, the alcohol should kill everything anyway. This place? I'd give a solid B-/C+ But, I wouldn't let my kid crawl on the floor, unlike our booth neighbors. That was just wrong. The service was top notch. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly during a relatively busy shift. And, unfortunately, some of us were a tad bit high-maintenance (who gets picky at Waffle House? Really?), but she never showed any signs of annoyance. She was much better than me. The food was exactly what we wanted and lots of it. So, no unpleasant surprises. Overall, on the forthcoming Waffle House list, I plan to rank this one pretty high. read more

Umm... we sat down to order and after we ordered we got one of our food items and right as I was about to eat it one of my family members noticed a family of cockroaches which were full sized were all over the wall... we told one of the ladies who worked there and she went and got another lady who didn't seem to care... after this I don't think we will be going to another Waffle House again. I had heard of this Southern staple years ago and always wanted to try it. It sounded right up my alley...I mean, it's called Waffle House. Houses and Waffles are two of my favorite things. So recently, when I found myself wandering around the deep south, I figured it was time to give this place a try. It was great. It was like living out the overstereotyped fantasy version of eating southern food that I had in my head. All the food was rich and greasy (the best part was the hash browns which you could order in 6 different fun-sounding southerny styles: Traditional; Scattered & Smothered (Onions); Scattered, Smothered & Covered (Onions and Melted Cheese); Scattered, Smothered, Covered & Chunked (Onions, Cheese and Ham); Scattered, Smothered, Covered, Chunked & Topped (Onions, Cheese, Ham & Chili; Scattered, Smothered, Covered, Chunked, Topped & Diced (Onions, Cheese, Ham, Chili and Diced Tomatoes), the service was friendly (southern hospitality at its finest), and to top it all off, our server and everyone around us had a neat southern accent!...just like in the overstereotyped fantasy version in my head...except in my version, we drove to a monster truck rally after breakfast in the general lee and I had a mullet. Well..... let me ya, I'm impressed. I have been to several Waffle House's. A few times to the Braslton one. It is very clean. The staff is very polite, well manered and dressed neatly. The place is clean. Including the ceiling tiles and chair legs. The windows are clean and the condiments are wipped down n stocked. Its nothing like the Winder one. I watched the cook, they wear glives and washed their hands. It is a great exampl of Waffle house expectation. Now..... Winder needs to be closed or at the least a new district manager assigned. I was a trainer for Wendys restaurants in New York until I moved to the quiet town of winder. I hate eating out, because I look over everything. But I like the Braslton one. read more

I think this is by far the worst Waffle House I've ever been to. Our waitress didn't get one of our 5 orders right. I looked over in the kitchen and all of our food was just sitting there getting cold. When it finally came out the first thing I saw was the "cheese" eggs. One single piece of square cheese laid on top of the cold scrambled eggs. As for the "over medium" eggs, they were borderline charred. My sister ordered "crispy bacon" and that was almost black. The bacon I ordered was extremely uncooked and if I wanted to, I could have flapped it around like a piece of cold rubber. I ignored the eggs and took a nasty spoon of grits. They were also ice cold even to the point of being hard. By the time my siblings waffles came out we had already complained and I didn't even get my waffle. Luckily one of the other waitresses there took into consideration our troubles and gave us justice. She took everything off and was very courteous. Hopefully the tip we left went to her. In conclusion, this restaurant is the epitome of god awful food. I suggest anyone think twice about going to the Waffle House on the corner of inner state 85 and 53. read more
