My husband and I were headed to another italian restaurant and it was closed so we found this little gem. It was slow service due to only one server but she consolidated and was thoughtful and remembered most everything except the drink I never received. The restaurant is more family style and they have fresh homemade pasta. An absolute gem in the downtown Hoschton neighborhood. Everything tasted good but the menu is limited and the portions are fairly big but so is the prices. So come ready to share and don't be surprised when you're paying $10 for a salad and $10 for bread before you even order your meal. My Husband and I were looking for something different and I mentioned to him a couple of places had opened up and I had heard good things about pasta masters. I read handmade pasta - S O L D I ordered the pappardelle with meatballs. The meatballs were not the best I've ever had however the pappardelle and the sauce were redemption. Really great sauce. Really cool little spot. Was very impressed with the service and ambience. However, the pasta left a little bit to be desired. We have the bread and crabcakes for appetizer and both were really good. I had the chicken Alfredo, but I ordered it with shrimp instead of chicken. I ended up getting chicken and shrimp. The shrimp was good, but the chicken was awful. It just tasted like boiled chicken. And unfortunately, the Alfredo sauce was like something you get out of the jar or something you would find on the kids menu. My wife had the proper deli and it was good but just needed seasoning. I have been here several times since they opened. The first time was rough. Service was slow but food was decent. Was there last night for my 4th visit. It was very good. Ambiance is nice and I like it because it is not loud. Drinks are good. Call liquor is pricy. I've had the Brussels salad, the bruschetta which was unflavorful, needed some garlic and topped with pesto. The bread is good but for purchase. I've had the parpadelle with ragu. It's a light pasta and really good sauce. Consistency since I've been here on the pasta is lacking. Had it several times, a bit different each time. Some better than the other times. Lord have mercy. That woman is a treasure. Sweet as peach cobbler and sharp as a tack -- and her recommendations? Spot. On. If she told me to order pasta served in a Mason jar, I'd say "yes ma'am" and pass my plate. We kicked things off with the meatballs (little clouds of joy), the burrata (sinfully good), and a Brussels sprout salad that made me question every vegetable I've ever met. I'm telling you, it was downright euphoric. I nearly stood up and testified. Then came the entrées, and honey... we were quiet at that table. Not because we're polite -- because we were too busy having a moment: * Crab ravioli special - I'd elbow my own cousin for the last bite. * Pappardelle ragú - Makes you want to write a thank-you note to whoever invented pasta. * Fettuccine al granchio - I'd protect this dish like it was my firstborn. Pasta Masters? I fear not! The menu is too small not to perfect every dish. Chicken Alfredo is not a complicated meal to make; simple yet flavorful. Yet that was not the case for this dish. The chicken was boiled, not pan fried in butter with seasonings. Boiled. It was tough. On top of that it was cubed. The pasta was also over cooked; not al dente. And the sauce was a disappointment. We were very underwhelmed with this place. The waitress was ok. The food, what there was of it, was very good. I had ravioli in vodka sauce. There something like 8 of them on my plate. This was a good thing because my husband got the lasagne. The smallest piece of dried out looking lasagne was placed in front of him. I could not eat all of my ravioli. They were handed off to hubby. When we asked for bread, we were told 'they had a party that afternoon and she would look and see if there was any left'!!! We should have left at that point and we were going to, when our appetizer came out before we could get up. We stayed. After the food was delivered we never saw our waitress again. It wasn't like she was slammed with other tables - there was us and one other table. The other waitress took that one. This was the week before Christmas. I really do need to listen to 'the voice in my head' when it's time to turnaround and leave. It's a shame this place really didn't cut it. It smelled so good, was pretty with the twinkling lights at the bar. They definitely need bread - as in, a bread basket for the table. 2. A much larger portion of lasagna, 3. Found it on Yelp and was intrigued. We took a chance and showed up without a reservation on a Friday night. Small location but we got right in. They had 3 tables left and a few spots at the bar. They are currently featuring holiday drinks, so I tried the Santa Clausmopolitan. You can lightly taste the pineapple in it. It was a good drink. Service was very attentive. We ordered the olives and foccocia. That was so good. I then ordered the crab pasta. I was told it was really spicy so I asked if it could be made mild. They ended up bringing it without ANY spice so it was a little plain. I was hoping for a little bit of a kick. The menu is limited but the pasta and sauces are all made fresh and in house. I picked up food from here on my way home. -- The lasagna was just ok. Toooons of cheese and i couldn't even tell it had lasagna pasta in it. -- chicken parm was meh. I have had chicken parm hundreds of times in Restaurants all over the country. This is the very first time in my life I had it where it was not served on a bed of or a side of angel hair pasta. Maybe my bad for just expecting it but it was just a piece of mediocre chicken parm with nothing else -- caesar salad was sad. It was chopped romaine and nothing else. If there was caesar dressing on it, it wasn't enough to even taste. It was literally a box of lettuce and I threw it out. I really wanted it to be great but it was disappointing. The facility is updated and clean. The server spilled water on us, but stuff happens. The chicken parm is $14. And that is all you get, the chicken. If you want pasta to accompany it, that'll be an extra $7 for spaghetti that is not edible. My wife had the chicken parm and it was tough to cut and eat. I had the chicken Alfredo. That is all you get as well. The chicken tasted boiled and was tough to eat. The pasta noodle itself was cooked right. The Alfredo sauce was bland with the exception of garlic powder. I couldn't eat it either. The tea was so weak I couldn't drink it. $50 for two lunches and we left hungry and disappointed. read more

We were so impressed with the food at Pasta Masters, we've gone here twice in a week. The restaurant is a find in the tiny town of Hoschton. It is a place that both knows and executes Italian food extremely well. We stumbled into it last week, we did not have any expectations besides being curious by the claim the restaurant had in their website - that they made their pasta in-house. This is a rare and expensive thing to do, for any chef/business. We decided to check it out. Our entire party agreed, hands down that the best thing on the menu is the burrata, soft and fresh mozzarella served on a bed of pesto so good, it probably was made of basil locally grown or freshly shipped and prepared in-house too. It went perfect with the focaccia bread (part of a second appetizer - the Marinated olives. We have sampled almost all of the menu now that we've been here twice. My new faves are the Pappardelle Ragu and their seasonal Seafood ravioli. My son sticks with their Spaghetti Pomodoro and adds a side of meatballs to his order. My husband has stuck to their chicken parmigiana special and paired a side of spaghetti to this order. Even the bar has proven impressive. I asked for a cocktail not listed on the menu and was surprised at how smooth and balanced it came out. We have only had the crème brûlée for dessert. This too did not disappoint, the flavors remind me of a custard made with true vanilla bean. The flavors one gets to enjoy at Pasta Masters are crafted from the start with quality ingredients rare in today's restaurant industry. It is the work of a chef and team that takes pride in the work of letting the complicated flavors of different ingredients take center stage, instead of blunting the palate with salt, sugar and fat. We were told the chef is still polishing their menu. This is exciting time for the staff who were truly attentive - they said the restaurant is not even three months old. We plan to come back and support this local business as much as we can. The restaurant is beautiful. The pasta is some of the best pasta I've had, better than most pastas I've had throughout different parts of Italy if I dare say so. We ordered the pesto pasta, the burrata, the fettuccine al granchio, and the focaccia. It was all amazing. However, the service was lacking. Our burrata came out and we waited another 30 minutes for the focaccia so basically ate cheese and no bread. Our waters were never refilled. The server barely came around. So disappointing. Was super excited to try this new restaurant in our area. Unfortunately it fell way short of expectations. It is a small dining room. They were nearly full when we came with only a couple of servers. They have a small menu which they supplement with specials. Our server never informed us of the specials. I only knew they had other items bc I saw other people getting it. Salads came out sand time as entree. Caesar salad had no dressing. Had to ask another server for more dressing bc ours was MIA. The pasta is fresh and homemade but sauce was soooo bland! We had to put a ton of salt on everything. I got the bolognese and it was flavorless. My son got the crab pasta and it had zero flavor. Kept waiting for our server to come around so we could ask for some sauce to make his pasta edible. Also, I wanted Parmesan cheese for my pasta. Watched her for 10 minutes hang out in the back of the restaurant on her phone. Finally I had to WALK to her and ask for some cheese and alfredo sauce bc his pasta was so dry and flavorless. She argued with me over it. After I returned to my seat she brought me 2 things of grated Parmesan cheese (like the kind in the green can). My husband had to jump in and beg for sauce. Afterwards, the server went to gossip with the bartenders. Once she was done gossiping, she FINALLY went to ask the cook for the sauce. They brought some Alfredo sauce and it was actually amazing. Unfortunately, at that point everything took so long and was riddled with controversy that my son was pretty much done. I couldn't finish my food bc of all the conflict with the waitress. Pasta Masters is such a misnomer. I don't know how you ruin burrata but they did. I made the mistake of asking for a substitute for the pesto sauce on top of the burrata because I have a tree nut allergy. Mistake number one. They didn't ask if this was ok but brought warm red sauce, ala Chef Boyardee. Pairs not so nicely with the cold burrata. It didn't come with crackers or bread, just two balls of burrata. Just gross. The salad was alright, but it was probably better when they made it yesterday. I'll give them that. The waitress only said there was meat in the white sauce lasagna I ordered, not that it was 100% different. It was and had all of the the taste of the aforementioned chef boyardee, only this had a mix of what tasted like ketchup. It wasn't a good ketchup but like a generic. My husband ordered something that sounded fabulous but it wasn't. It was gray and looked like dish water. But the good news is that it tasted like playdough. Run away, don't walk. This is the first Yelp review I've ever written. I usually let my dining experiences speak for themselves--but what I saw during the weekend night couldn't go unspoken. To the people of Hoschton, GA--please take a moment to read this. I waited a while before posting to ensure I wasn't acting on emotion. I originally wrote something more reactive and harsh, but I've chosen a measured approach instead. I originally left a review on google, however it seems that in the month since I posted it, I have been shadow-banned and my review is not getting out there. I am now on yelp to share to a larger audience. This wasn't our first time here. In fact, over their 3 months of operation, we'd dined here multiple times. The visual appeal of the space, the well-executed menu, delicious cocktails, and--most importantly--the warm and welcoming staff had made us regulars. Whether you're greeted by Serena, Sebastian, or Dino at the bar, or served by Sunshine, Lany, or Lilah, you immediately feel that "family" atmosphere. Even the younger bus-boy goes out of his way to make sure guests are accommodated, a detail that doesn't go unnoticed. We were surprised to learn many of them were brand new to serving--especially because their growth and professionalism have been so impressive. I say this to emphasize: what follows is not a criticism of the staff. If anything, they deserve high praise for holding things together. We came in on a Saturday about a month ago and were seated at a table. Toward the end of our meal, I noticed a man I'd seen around on previous visits--older, greying hair, button-down shirt. He was roaming the dining room, attempting to strike up conversations with guests who, frankly, didn't seem receptive. Social cues were missed. What happened next was hard to ignore. After a conversation with a young server about seating, the man dropped his face into his hands and groaned dramatically--muttering to himself in what can only be described as a public tantrum. A grown man, throwing a visible temper tantrum in the middle of this restaurant. It drew attention from multiple tables, including ours. I overheard a neighboring table confirm what I suspected: this was the owner. That alone was surprising--but the open kitchen design made his behavior even more glaring. Moments later, he could be heard loudly berating a staff member, calling someone a "f****** moron" more than once. I couldn't tell if the comment was directed at the person in front of him or about another employee, but the tone was vicious. It was deeply unsettling. Other tables noticed. It changed the entire mood of the restaurant. My wife saw the look on my face--I was furious. The only reason I didn't say something aloud was to avoid creating more tension or disrupting other guests' evenings. To the owner, if you ever read this: I hope you take a moment to reflect. Leadership in hospitality is about more than paying bills--it's about culture, tone, and how you make people feel. Right now, your team is carrying the experience in spite of you, not because of you. It's unfortunate, because the service and food were great. But we won't be returning until there's clear leadership that matches the heart and effort of the staff. Regards. read more

Potential Our 1st visit based on a recommendation. For our antipasti though billed as Marinated Olives (served with foccaccio bread) it really was bread with a few olives. The olives were good but the bread was FANTASTIC. Name really should be Foccaccio with Olives. The server did his best but he brought me the wrong main course but I kept it. The Cacio e Pepe was very good. My wife ordered the Lasagna al Forno and she initially liked it but the more she ate the thicker the lasagna got. She didn't like it. The menu is very limited (which is not bad) so to keep customers coming in they should have rotating menus. Pasta is made fresh daily. This is not your typical local Italian restaurant and I don't consider it a family restaurant for young kids/teens because of the limited menu. We will, though, give it a 2nd try. read more

Odd decision to not offer a pasta side with parm. You would need to choose off kids menu and pay for this. Great new restaurant in Hoschton, GA. It's one of those rare hidden gems that you almost want to keep to yourself--but they deserve to be packed every night. My husband and his friends love the homemade pasta and have shared it is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell they really take pride in what they're serving. The cocktails are just as good--super well-crafted and not your average menu. The space itself is gorgeous--modern, cozy, and really thoughtfully designed. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They were also really accommodating when it came to food intolerances, which isn't always the case at new spots. That level of care goes a long way. If you're looking for a new go-to spot, definitely give this place a try. It deserves all the love.
