Fried Mushrooms with Ranch Dressing! Really Good!
    Tate V.

Cotton Patch 09-24-24 Did a pick up order. The food was warm and good It was ready when I got there. We had the Fried Mushrooms with Ranch. Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potato's, and Squash Casserole. The food was flavorful and hot. The steak was a little tuff but still good. I really loved the Squash Casserole! Fried Fish Plate, Fries, Hush Puppies and Squash Casserole. The fish was crispy and flavorful. Overall it was Good, nothing special but good. I would go back but no time soon. Everyone has different tastes so Be sure and give them a try.

Ordered to go for chicken fried chicken. They left out the gravy, and instead of chicken fried chicken, we got two chicken tenders. Not cool.

Ordered pickup and got a cup of soup for nearly $5, came home with LESS than a cup of soup. Absolute insanity for how much I paid for, and not enough for one person to eat.

This was my first time coming here while my family has been here a few times. From the very beginning, the service staff was very friendly especially our waiter Juan. We had chicken fried bacon as appetizer before our meal which was very tasty. My wife had the steak fingers while I had the beef tips. Both were extremely tasty. Our waiter, Juan kept checking on us, asking if we needed anything. In fact he brought my wife a new drink when she was only halfway finished with the previous one. We will be going back.

This experience was bad from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. No one greeted us at the door and it took 10 minutes for anyone to approach us. A wait staff briefly mumbled something as she was walking away after asking if we had 4 people (we had 3). Neither my wife nor I could hear what she said. Once we were seated we didn't see the waiter for for about 15 minutes which felt longer. We never received the typical complimentary rolls and butter they bring out. After he finally brought our waters we didn't see our waiter for another 15-20 minutes. The waiter kept walking between two registers and standing around talking to the other staff. We are now very hungry and just staring at our waters. The waiter hasn't even walked within waving distance at this point. After all the waiting he finally took our order and we didn't see him until he brought food. He never once came and checked on how we were doing between the obligatory steps. The food itself was just okay even though they we're all out of the flounder which is what I really wanted. The ingredients were very scarce like they were running out of all the ingredients in the kitchen. The chicken on my salad had barely any chicken which is strange since it's one of the cheapest meats. Anyways, we won't be returning for a long time - at least not at this location. I think management needs to pay attention to their customers and the employees who are serving them.

Mushroom Patty Melt, Bacon Green Beans, Super Combo Fish & Shrimp

First time at this cute little restaurant. Didn't start off great with the eye-rolling hostess; no greeting, nothing... such a great personality for a hostess. Waitress was sweet, but may have forgotten a couple things; it was not too busy either. Now, the mushroom melt burger was amazing! Green beans were almost as good as Babe's Chicken beans! Shrimp and fish platter was good. Coffee was awful.... and that's our go to drink. Clean bathrooms. Music was a good level and it was not too noisy. Need a better detergent for their glasses... spots and film on them. I would give a 3, but hubby said make it a 4. We do like the decor...love the wood!

Food they don't have any of.

We ordered the lobster chowder and the crab leg pot, and both were absolutely delicious. Even though the place was busy, our food came out pretty quickly, which was impressive. After finishing, we realized our crab pot didn't include the usual corn and potatoes, which was a bit of a bummer. Still, everything tasted great overall. I also liked that you can make your own drinks and grab extra items yourself--it's a nice touch. Honestly, everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. At first, I was a little hesitant because the menu is fairly small, but after my meal, I can see why. Every dish we ordered was absolutely a 10/10. I had the chicken with greens and shrimp fried rice, along with the fried green tomatoes and cornbread. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I honestly don't have a single negative thing to say about either the food or the service. This was an amazing dining experience, and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I had high hopes for this location because I absolutely love Radici, and everyone has been…read morerecommending Roots to me. Unfortunately, it just didn't live up to the expectations I had. I do want to start with the positives. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very attentive, explained the menu thoroughly, and provided excellent service. The food also came out incredibly fast and piping hot, which is becoming rare these days. We started with the cornbread, and it was easily a 10/10. It was worth every bit of the $12. We ordered the fried chicken, greens, shrimp fried rice, biscuits, and hot water cornbread. The fried chicken was crispy and tender, but it lacked seasoning. I'd give it a 7/10. They served it with a house hot sauce, but surprisingly it had no heat and almost no flavor. I even asked the person I was dining with if they tasted anything because it was like pouring sauce on the chicken without changing the flavor at all. The greens were just okay on their own, but once we added the vinegar they became amazing. That made me wonder why the vinegar isn't incorporated into the greens from the start. The hot water cornbread had virtually no flavor. The shrimp fried rice was cooked really well, but it had an unexpected Caribbean-style seasoning that threw me off. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I was expecting, and it made it hard to fully enjoy. The biscuits were probably the biggest disappointment. They were dry and hard. One thing I also noticed is that, for a family style restaurant where you're encouraged to order several dishes to share, the tables feel too small. Once all the food arrived, there wasn't much room left, and even packing up our leftovers was awkward because of the lack of space. One standout that deserves recognition was the iced tea. It had what tasted like a subtle hint of mint and was incredibly refreshing. Easy 10/10. From the cuts of chicken we received, it appears they break down and fry whole chickens, which is perfectly fine. However, at $56 for a fried chicken that lacked seasoning, I found the price hard to justify. Maybe the cooking method or oil contributes to the cost, but I expected much more flavor for that price. Overall, I'd rate my experience a 7.5/10. Would I come back? Yes. I'd be willing to give Roots another chance and try something different from the menu. But when I hear Southern food, I expect bold seasoning and comforting flavors, and that's the one area where this meal really fell short.

We saw the menu and were kind of like ok what kind of a chicken place is this. It was her choice so we went. Our waiter(forgot his name) was cool and was very attentive to us. First sign of a good waiter/server is our cups were never empty. Its been a while that my cup has never been empty. For the food it rocked. Your biscuits are addictive. I dont know what you put in them but we ate alot of them. The dressing on the salad was not over powering. Now for the chicken. We had tenders, fired, smoked and even some chicken fried steak. It was all juicy and tender. What had us surprised was there was no oil on the plate when it was served. The breading on all the chicken stayed crunchy. What ever you do to the chicken keep doing it. The corn, green beans and the mashed potatoes were on point. They are their own food group. Im not a green bean person. I had 2 servings. The gravy just made everything taste better. The deserts tasted like they came from grandmas kitchen. Whats the chances you would open a location in Las Vegas Nevada. Its going to get expensive to drive here every time we what fried chicken. Keep doing what you're doing. It works.

THIS IS A HUGE RAVE TO BABE'S CHICKEN HOUSE IN GRANBURY!…read more On Sunday, March 29, my wife and I went to Babe's Chicken House in Granbury. We were met immediately and seated promptly. Our server was a young lady named Lauren. More on Lauren shortly. This was not our first trip to Babe's Chicken House. But it had been a while, definitely too long, since we were here when we came years ago, we would usually order a chicken each. Now we are in our golden years and we can't eat that much, so we split one. But it was just as delicious as it has been each previous time! The Chicken was fried too absolutely perfection! The golden brown skin was seasoned perfectly and was very crunchy, just the way we like it. And the meat was hot and fork tender, Oh, I still prefer to use My fingers. The sides of green beans, corn, and mashed potatoes and gravy were off the hook! I'm not sure how they cook that corn, but they can come over to my house and cook it anytime! We both drank a sweet tea with lemon, very, very cold and lots of ice! About Lauren: Lauren is a local young lady who has a constant smile on her face. I never saw her not smiling while we were here. I watched her as she engaged in conversation with many people, both employees and customers, and she was an extremely pleasant young woman. But to my wife and I, she was an absolute, unfettered joy! She kept our tea glasses filled, and Make sure that we had plenty of potatoes and gravy, corn, and green beans. She did all of this as well as tending to her other customers I think that she is one of those young ladies who is so personable that she has the gift of making everyone feel as though they are the most important customer to her. I know that is the way that we felt. My wife had ordered some vegetables to go, And had mentioned this to Lauren when we ordered our chicken. We were nearly finished with a meal when Lauren arrived at the perfect time with the "to go order." She remembered when many such servers in the past at other venues Have forgotten. I need to address one other thing that I frequently hear people complain about. Yes, babes does serve instant potatoes. When you feed as many people in a day and in a week or over a holiday weekend, as they do, something has got to give. And by the way, those instant potatoes are absolutely delicious! I don't know what they do to them, but they are incredible! So if that's your own gripe, find something else to gripe about and instead insert some positivity into your review! This was the most pleasant dining experience that I've had in years and it was because the food was good and Lauren's service to my wife and I was even better! The only suggestion would be that Lauren gets paid more! She's clearly not being paid enough! As for Babe's Chicken dinner house, we will be back! Thank you all so much! And you take good care of our Lauren, because we want her the next time we come! All of y'all who read this review and then go to babes, be sure that you ASK FOR LAUREN! SHE'S A ROCKSTAR!

A moment after we sat down, our server, Joe K came by to greet us and he took our drink order. Menu's are at the table, so we studied a bit and were ready for Joe when he brought our drinks. I ordered: - Unsweetened Iced Tea - 3 Piece Dark Chicken Plate (my choice: leg, leg, thigh) with Greens and BBQ Beans My wife ordered: 2 Piece White Chicken Plate (breast, wing) with Mac-Cheese and BBQ Beans The chicken was the star for sure. The BBQ Beans weren't special but were decent. The Greens, decent. With each meal plate, the chicken is served on a slice of white bread. The chicken was fried to a deep brown and was real tasty. My dark meat was juicy and tender. My wife's white meat was drier but normal for white meat. My wife's felt the chicken skin was maybe overcooked as it was tough. It was fine to me. I ate her skin :) We'll be back to Gus's!
