Chuckwagon Chicken - a little dry
    Linn P.

Good solid dinner. Had great fresh soft hot rolls to start with. Ordered fried pickles for app. Ranch was good but the fried pickles were heavy battered and minimal pickle. Our dishes were good. Not amazing but good. We had chicken fried steak, chicken friend chicken and the chuck wagon chicken. The chuck wagon was a little dry but not bad. I think the table liked the chicken fried chicken more than the steak. The sides were fine. We would come here again prob in the future if we're craving country cooking.

Our visit here was amazing! We walk in to a clean and comfortable atmosphere!! Mercy was our server and she was awesome! We had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra and corn bread in a skillet. The food was so delicious! I can't wait to return to try something else on their menu!!

Must try spot when your in the Dallas area. This is some good home style southern comfort food. I tried the chicken fried steak for the first time in my life and it blew my mind. I got it with the mashed potatoes and gravy with cinnamon apples and scraped my plate clean. My brother Inlaw ordered the beef tips and even his plate was clean. Service was also on point with friendly waitstaff. Restaurant ambience was clean. I would also like to thank manager and staff for a very good experience dining at their restaurant. I hope to come back soon to try other menu items. Best food I had on my trip to Dallas.

Updated w pics of our favorite meals! We love ordering from here - need pics of the cornbread but it never lasts long. Blackened tilapia and chicken fried chicken w fried okra/green beans and garlic mashed potatoes are our favorite.

Was in the Grapevine area running errands and had time to kill before my last appointment at six o'clock. So I decided to run over to Cotton Patch for some good old-fashioned southern cooking. The food did not disappoint, nor did the service as Stephanie was on top of her game. She could tell I was one of those people who needs minimal attention. Stephanie was never a bother and checked on me at just the right amount of times. She provided another glass of water without asking and accomodated a request for a spoon. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely ask to sit in her section. The store was also beautiful in decor and very clean. Please check out this restaurant.

First time in this Cotton Patch, first time in any Cotton Patch since Covid. Happily surprised! We went at lunch time. They have a great selection of items for $7.99 (from 11am to 1pm). However, we ordered the evening portion Chicken Fried Steak ($14.99). It was a very large portion and came with jalapeño or brown gravy... I got jalapeño gravy and my wife got the other. I got the steamed broccoli and the house salad... the salad was very large, enough for two. Wife got garlic mashed potatoes and fried okra. All came out hot and tasted great! The meals included fresh hot rolls. The service was very good, especially concerning the tables were almost all taken. Our waitress did a great job! They offer beer, wine and mixed drinks. Some interesting appetizers (I.e. chicken fried bacon). The interior was clean and well maintained, however a little darker than I like. Plenty of close parking. We will absolutely be back! Highly recommended this location!

Granted, it was first a recommendation by a family member who took a liking to Lazy Dog's food, so I decided to give it a try with my stepdad today. I enjoy their large variety of food options. Their menu ranged from pasta to seafood, including a few selections of fish; I ordered the Grilled Idaho Trout and requested the green beans be switched to broccoli. The food was great; portions were large and I especially took an unexpected liking to their potatoes and french fries. I wished I tried their Truffle Fries as I really like Truffle, but I suppose I'll save that for my next visit. Service was OK, nothing spectacular or memorable. Environment was clean and comfortable with plenty of seating indoors as well. Overall, a decent enough experience for me to come back with family.

The portions are also huge Our server was wonderful from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, and checked on us often without being overbearing. The service was honestly the best part of the experience. We started with the Sichuan calamari, and this was easily the highlight of the meal. It was perfectly crispy, the glaze had just the right amount of sweetness and heat, and the seasoning gave it a nice kick without overpowering the calamari. It was one of the best calamari dishes I've had and definitely raised my expectations for everything that followed. Next was the tenderloin bruschetta, and unfortunately this one just didn't work for me. The flavors didn't come together, and it was much saltier than it needed to be. It felt like there were too many things happening on the plate without much balance. I wouldn't order it again. For the entrées, the Chilean Sea Bass was very good. The fish was flaky and cooked well, the risotto was creamy, and the sauce brought everything together without being too heavy. It was one of the stronger dishes we ordered. The lobster stuffed ravioli was another solid choice. The filling was generous, there was plenty of lobster on top, and the vodka sauce complemented everything nicely without taking over. It was rich but still well balanced. We also tried the New Zealand rack of lamb. This one had mixed reviews at our table. It wasn't as tender as I was hoping, but I didn't dislike it and again I didn't love it! The blackened exterior and the wine reduction gave it good flavor, but it just wasn't particularly memorable. My favorite entrée ended up being the tomahawk pork chop. The pork itself was juicy, flavorful, and cooked really well. I wasn't a huge fan of the pineapple bourbon glaze since I didn't think it added much to the dish, but the quality of the meat made up for it. We also had the strawberry spinach salad, which was fresh and a nice lighter option alongside all the richer dishes. Then there was also a side dish with green beans and almond and again no complains there. Overall, I left feeling a little conflicted. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was great, and the portions were very generous. The food itself was a mix of really good dishes and others that completely missed the mark. After such an incredible start with the calamari, I expected the rest of the meal to be on the same level, but it just never got there. I'm glad we tried it, but I don't think it's a place I'd rush back to.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Tupelo Honey is a stand-alone restaurant conveniently located near Hwy 114 and 161. There's plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and a mixture of tables, booths, and bar seating. Speaking of the bar, it acts as a beautiful backdrop for the entire restaurant. 1 Star. Service - The service is always friendly. Our server is always smiling, and I can't help but feel welcome with southern charm. Tupelo Honey trains its staff well, and I really enjoy coming here and interacting with the staff. 1 Star. Food - I always begin with the Biscuits with a Cause. These light, flakey biscuits are served warm with a crispy exterior and soft, flakey inside. But honestly, the biscuits act as a delivery mechanism for the butter and blue berry jam. I always ask for an extra side of butter and jam because I use it all. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (dark). The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy, and sweet. And the dark meat was juicy. Pro Tips - use your hands. Another great dish was experienced. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I have yet to have a below average dish at Tupelo Honey. Yes, it's a chain. But it's also a darn good chain that keeps its menu fresh and is worth multiple visits. 1 Star.

Most recently we opted for some pancakes . Overall the quantity you get for the price is good but the overall quality is not always consistent. The first time we came my husband had piping hot mashed potatoes while mine were almost cold on one side. The next time we came the fries were no longer home fries but just your regular frozen variety. The time after that, one of the chicken fried steaks was a little gummy at the bottom, probably from an uneven fry. This is not to say everything else is bad, they just seem to have an inconsistent cook. Pancakes are good though. Service is typically okay, just like anywhere it depends on your server. If you happen to be seated in a... non assigned area... you may not get the most attentive service and flagging down a different server will just have to do. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating. They also serve pies, giant cookies, and brownies. I do recommend really looking at the pies since the servers don't always know what's in the fridge, so when they say "thats a lemon pie' you may end up with a Buttermilk slice like we did. The brownies are also... not good... so I really don't recommend them. They don't really taste like anything... Overall an okay country kitchen, not overly bad but also not the best. They could use some tweaks and better quality control.

Not a true "Japanese wagyu" texture, but still an excellent steak overall. - Sides (mashed potatoes, fries, broccolini, cornbread): All pretty good across the board. I liked the cornbread the most and wished there was more of it. Usually a side of cornbread is much more substantial and comes with honey butter. - Steak sauce: we ask for a side of this. Whatever they had was unique and great. Fruity and tangy, a great complement to the tomahawk. - Pecan Pie: look at the photo! A huge, tall slice. No notes. Loved the dense ice cream on top.
