I decided to order the Smokehouse Spud, being one of the exceptions. It could have been called the Smorgasbord Spud. The baked potato was topped with pulled pork and mac & cheese. Due to the bbq & cheese sauce, the butter served on the side was not necessary. If that was not enough toppings, it was finished off with green onions. Late on this review! 2025 has been a year of travel and I have to be grateful for the good this year has brought. While in the Dallas area for a work trip, I was able to solo venture to all sorts of places. I'm a sandwich girl, so in search for a good sandwich Yelp led me to McAlister's. Super NICE staff! They have technology to self order but I needed TLC and the young lady behind the counter was eager to help. This deli did the job, dining area had ample space but I had work to get to so opted to take my lunch to-go. Let's get into! Sweet Tea - YES! This was good ole Texas sweet tea! Spicy Turkey Melt - While good, I wouldn't order again. I like cold sandwiches and this one was hot. It's my fault for not knowing this when clearly the name says it "melt". Super good but would likely get the Turkey BLT add avocado. Baked potato soup - Delicious! This was a solid winner for me! Yes I'd return. Kindness from staff had me at hello. McAllister is right next to where I work, so I go there often! If you haven't heard of the tea pass. For 7$ you can get free refills for a month... must get on the app. Totally worth it!!! Love all the new flavors the add to the tea. On this visit, I got the Reuben sandwich and it was delicious. So much pastrami and just the perfect amount of sauerkraut. The people at the front are always so friendly and helpful and the store is just got the nicest clientele. I always meet somebody nice sitting across me and we always have a good conversation. Our ladies group of four was able to enjoy dinner at this Southlake McAlister's location following our day at the spa. All the staff at this location -- especially Samantha -- was SO friendly, helpful, and ready to deliver great food (piping hot!) just minutes after we sat down. Truly, we barely had enough time to unwrap a straw so we could enjoy our favorite McAlister's tea before Samantha and another team member was delivering our order. Every item from our big order was accurate and super tasty! I actually found myself giving an actual "Wow!" response when I saw how wonderfully toasted the baguette was for my french dip sandwich. Yum! Our entire meal was great from start to finish -- and it was much appreciated that different team members would ask if we wanted refills on our tea. Additionally, there was a large portion of meat in my Ruben sandwich, certainly more than I got last time ...and if I'm being fair, more than I would've expected. Got the steamed broccoli this time, it was excellent. My wife got one of the salads, which she felt was exceptional good! The store continues to be clean and well-maintained. The counter staff was exceptionally friendly, and the lady who brought our food also was friendly... and brought us everything we needed. Later, she checked back and got us refills. Stopped here for a quick lunch while running errands. The woman working the register was very polite and helpful. I was wavering between the honey pork nachos and the roast beef and cheddar sandwich. And she recommended the nachos. So that's what I got. Honestly I wish I had gone with the sandwich instead the nachos were good and flavor but lacked in appeal as well as portions. The pork had a ton of fat that I could not eat and there was more cheese sauce than anything else Les. The meal was very disappointing. In the future I'll stick with a sandwich or soup. This McAlister's is the best - first of all, because a McAlister's Club is always a great lunch option and I've had the Tea Pass for almost every month since it debuted. About $8 a month is absolutely worth it if you think you'll go at least 3 times a month, but since I drive by one almost every day, I easily get 15-20 teas a month. Pro tip if you do this: get a nice reusable cup because they're happy to fill clean reusable cups for you! I realized how much single use plastic I was wasting (even though I would rinse my cup and use it a couple more times I quickly realized a nicer reusable cup better) and now if everyone there doesn't recognize my face or name, they definitely recognize my neon pink cup Everyone there is incredibly kind and friendly and my frequent tea pass stops means I'm one of the customers that, at least the managers, know by name. The bathroom is always clean and I never see it out of toilet paper or soap or paper towels. This restaurant is also much bigger than it appears, as his a good size dining area as well as a large meeting room area for dining in the back. It definitely gets BUSY around noon and early evening, so be prepared for that! If you want to-go for lunch, highly recommend their app, because you'll also earn rewards that way! I almost always have some kind of discount in my app because I order the tea pass just about every month, and eat there around once a month too. Great place. Service is super. The food is served hot. You can get 1/2 sandwich & a cup of soup. Their teas are wonderful.

Online order for pickup, didn't realize it was a spinach instead of lettuce on the sandwich so I asked if I could get a side of lettuce to swap it out. Then tried to confirm that the soup was correct because it looked off and when I asked the manager Leslie gave me the snarkiest response. Love the staff at this McAlister's. They are attentive to your needs. They always get our orders prepared correctly. Food is good. My favorite right now is the pulled pork bbq sandwich with a Savannah chopped salad. Of course they are know for their famous teas. Staff cleans up quickly when a customers leave the table. Restaurant is busy on Sunday afternoons after the church's services let out. The back of the restaurant has a room for larger parties and they also have tables that can sit six near the large room. Have been dinning at this location since they opened. Food has been pretty consistent, service comes and goes. I understand times are different and constantly changing. Placed an order on Saturday afternoon. Not a sole there so it was not busy. Take out order. Got it home and it was awful. 2 orders of potato salad. They looked bad, potato's were yellow and crusty as if they had been sitting out. Both orders were warm and runny. Called the store and spoke to the manager, no apology no nothing. She would put my name on a list and I could come by and pick up replacements whenever. Won't go back. Sad. Just heard from owner. Very pleased. I loved McAllisters and hated what happed. read more

Finally someone came over and took order for appetizer. Everyone seemed like they were busy with taking care of one family (given it was a larger group) appetizer was good. McAlister's is one of the better sandwich shops in the area. The sandwiches and baked potatoes always taste fresh, and I usually get the mashed potatoes, but this visit, half of my mashed potatoes were crusty and hard - like they were at the edge of the pan bottom of the pot and dried out. That was a disappointment, and I'm sure somebody noticed it. I order the Smoky Pepper Jack Turkey, which I liked a lot. The turkey was good, as was the bacon, and the bread was soft yet a little crunchy. What I found a bit odd was the honey mustard. It was runny, so more of a honey mustard sauce I guess. If you look at my photo, it looks a little like there's egg yolk running from the sandwich - that's the mustard. Still, the flavor was good, and crusty mashed potatoes aside, I'll be back, but I'd like it even more with a few small adjustments. read more

My first review was removed due to lack of context, so here is all the context. I had a negative, disappointing experience with uber eats and this location. My order was stolen by an uber eats driver, and I was told by the assistant manager that it happens a lot, and that replacing it would cost them money, so they could not replace it. To me, that is poor customer service, especially since I order from them very frequently. The assistant manager told me she remembers giving out my order to someone that had my name and order brought up on the app, but that person must have taken the food and skipped the order in the app, thereby making it look like it was never picked up and was still at the store. Since they seem to be aware of how orders are stolen, and it happens frequently, maybe they should ask the drivers to advance the app correctly before handing food over, so it cant be stolen in this manner. I'm sure these situations are frustrating for all parties, but there seem to be no protections in place, and the response I recieved put the customer last. read more

To start, our food was tasty and our order was correct. Unfortunately, the lack of stars is a different issue. When we were dining in house we were seated at a table with views to the kitchen. One of the employees, who seemed to be a food runner, did something a bit unspeakable. While she was handling the food, plates, and silverware, I witnessed her stick her hands far down the inside backside of her pants. She seemed to be adjusting her undergarments. Right after, I saw her grab a fork with unwashed hands and CLEAN it with her fingers before placing the utensil on the customers plate. There were no gloves or hand washing to be seen! ABSOLUTELY disgusting. We will 100% not be back because of this instance, no matter the food taste. Hygiene and food handling needs to be addressed at this location. read more

Food was great as always customer service was absolutely terrible. I did a mobile order to pick up and my husband went in to grab it. I always double check my orders to ensure all my items are there when I do mobile orders. We noticed there were missing items he tried to take it back and half way to the door the bag rips (for being overstuffed) when he got inside none of the employees acknowledged him at all it took one customer to let the girl know he needed help. Mid you this girl had seen him walk in. He lets her know there is missing items and the bag ripped her reply and this is the reason for this review was "how is that our problem" excuse me!!?? We've been to this McAlister's location several times and have never been disappointed. After having two extremely poor experiences at the Irving location, we decided to go back to Grapevine. I had the California Reuben on gluten-free bread for the first time. I highly recommend it. There was plenty of turkey, coleslaw and thousand island dressing on this delicious sandwich. I opted for the side of steamed veggies, which is just broccoli and carrots, but you get plenty of them.The gluten-free bread is tasty and not at all dried out tasting (which can often be the case with gluten-free bread). My husband had the loaded spud and it was massive and generously portioned. He thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was great and the food came out in record time. I am not the usual McAlister's Deli customer. This is a good restaurant. I love the atmosphere, staff and the food. I ordered the ham and cheese melt and mac & cheese. The sandwich was delicious but the mac and cheese was very sub-par. When I ordered the staff was extremely friendly and asked about my day but during my dining experience the staff and service was very fair. I recommend this restaurant for a group but this is not a "dinner for two" type of restaurant. While this is a good restaurant there is a Panera Bread right across the street which I would recommend more. I would give this restaurant a 7/10. read more

UPDATE... The restaurant sent me store cards to come and dine with them again so, I have adjusted their rating accordingly. There was still issues with the food on this order, but better than the last time. I ordered from this location yesterday via their app for delivery. I ordered two of the spud max, one with no bacon, extra sour cream and extra olives. The other was extra sour cream, extra butter and extra olives but this is not what I got. For starters, the order arrived about 20 minutes after the estimated delivery time and I am only 4 miles from the store. Next, the food was cold and my beverage was watered down because all of the ice had melted. To make it worse, everything that was supposed to be extra was completely disregarded. Two dry, disgusting potatoes. I reached out to the store and spoke with the manager and agreed to send me a store card to replace those items in store today, but she never sent anything. I do understand that the late delivery was not their fault because they use a third party (Doordash) for delivery, but the order was still wrong and inedible. I order to go from mcallisters at least twice a week for years and my order has been correct every single time. The food is always good, pricing is normal and their rewards are pretty generous. By far the most disappointing McAlister's I've ever been to one DFW. I would think with being in Southlake this place would be nicer but not so much. Upon walking up the iron fence out front was broken. Many tables inside were dirty and hadnt been clean. The food was lack luster. I got the potato soup with a side salad. The soup was lukewarm and some of the potatoes were hard. My salad was ok but for a $10 plate I'd expect it to be better. Tea had little taste as well.
