We recently had to have work done on our motorhome's onboard propane tank. Their quote was accurate to the work accomplished. They did a great job of completing the repairs and were willing to hold the RV for a few days to accommodate a more convenient time for us to pick it up. We took John Coumbs our RV travel trailer to sell on consignment. I dropped it off the first week of July and was told it would be gone through by there tech team professionally cleaned and put on the line to sell. I was told if there was anything wrong I would be contacted promptly. After 2 weeks and no posting on there web page I grew suspicious. I contacted John with no return call, I waited another 2 weeks and finally got a hold of John Coumbs. He the told me He had been meaning to call but just kept forgetting for the last 2 weeks. It seems they found an issue with my rv and declined to sell it. I arranged for pickup and showed up to do so and he informed me they had been broken into in the secure lot and my batteries and propane tanks were taken. He did replace the batteries and tanks and said the tanks were full and ready to go. I should have double checked and when I did they were empty. A $500.00 deposit was paid for said services and nothing was returned. I had asked for a detailed list of there check out and never received one after repeated requests. I asked there Tech who checked it out and he said the unit was good and he would use with no worries. John's repeated lies, forgetfulness, misleading have lead me to NEVER NEVER do business with this company again. If they did not want to sell and contacted me right away I would be fine. However John's lies, misleading, lies, and lack of communication I would/could never recommend this company to anyone. read more

I couldn't get my canopy lock to work. I had bought a new lock online & still no luck. Over a decade ago I bought the canopy at Coumbs, so I stopped into Coumbs & asked if they could take a quick look. Jamie came out, took the entire assembly a part, and found the part of it that was frozen (not the lock part that I replaced). In all of 20 minutes my canopy works. I offered to pay for the labor and they insisted on only charging me for the part.... $14. What amazing service, and what a relief! Thank you Jamie and Coumbs!!! read more

I really dislike being talked to in the condescending way, I've had the same propane issues trying to get propane there , I just go downtown. It's a family run business so nobody's going anywhere and they could care less If you go there or if you don't. These guys were fantastic! We were in the middle of a 2,100 road trip in our 24 FT Class-C motorhome with our two dogs and needed to have one of the rear tail-lights re-wired due to a short in the wiring harness caused by a water leak. Due to the way the harness was routed and the location of the leak, the repair would have to be scheduled in the shop...which was booked solid. Fortunately the service manager himself came out to the parking lot with a set of tools, took the entire taillight assembly apart, and then explained how to "rig" a temporary repair to get us home using a few clips and a piece of wire for less than $7.00. A full repair would have otherwise cost $170.00 minimum.... and we would have to wait several days to get in. We weren't charged a penny for the estimate or the assistance. read more

These people are incompetent. Took my 5th wheel in to get repairs on the sewage system. Paid almost 1k for the work but they missed the MAIN leak. Employee negligence resulted in my canopy being smashed by a forklift. The canopy was custom painted and valued around 2k. They were only willing to give me $500 in store credit. Used the store credit to get some running boards for my truck. They installed the boards improperly and after a few days a noise started happening every time I turned. I did not know it was the running boards making the noise. Took it to my mechanic and he rebuilt the front end for $2200. That did not fix the noise as we expected and after much trouble shooting they determined it was not the front end. It was poorly installed running bars. Coumbs would not even cover the $100 it cost to have the bars fixed. I have been through hell for the last couple weeks because of negligence at Coombs RV. Spare yourself the headache that I've had to endure by going elsewhere. I will say the lady that works in front is very nice. One of the guys in the back is cool. It's the management that is absolutely HORRIBLE. read more

Not really a fan of this place every time I go there I get shitty customer service This last time I went there to get propane The guy found everything wrong with my propane tank so that he wouldn't have to refill it instead tried to get me to buy their new tank that is $35 emptied plus another $10 to refill it. Or he said I can go anywhere else and pay over $3 dollars a gallon to refill my propane. Wow thanks! I am blown away by how low the rating for this business is on here. If I could give this place more stars, I would. I recently became a full time RV'r. Becoming full time came with a ton of adjustments to my RV and a ton of questions. Tabitha at Coumbs helped me every step of the way. And not only just answered my questions, she took the time to help me understand what I was asking, what I was doing, and assisted with over the phone troubleshooting on things like my propane tank. Her knowledge base alone would bring me back to Coumbs. She was friendly and patient. I would recommend this business to anyone. They have my business for life. We were heading north and broke down. Stranded in a parking lot for the night, we called around to different shops/mobile repairs in the morning to see who could help us out in our emergency situation. We were losing hope that anyone could help us out until we were referred to Coumbs by a few locals in our RV group online. They were able to help us out fairly quickly and had us back in the road again. Phillip the service manager and his team were great to work with and got everything done before anyone else could even get to us. I would not be able to recommend this business. We left our motor home there overnight and it was broken into to and the door was damaged, radio out of the dash taken and also a huge amount of things. We were not warned that it was a dangerous place to leave your RV overnight. Coombs has said they will not cover any of the repairs or replacement of the stolen items. Will not go back. read more

Where to start.... We had an appointment for September 9, 2019 to take our 30' Puma to be looked at for several various issues. We were told we could take it in either the Friday or Saturday before and come into the store, hand over the keys and set up the work order for all the issues; so we chose to take It in on the 7th of September (Saturday). we did all the writeup on the issues. and handed over our keys and also a copy of the "platinum" extended warranty we have on the 1 year old trailer. they informed us that there was a 1 week "turn around time"- meaning appointment for a Monday; you will get it back the following Monday. o.k cool!!. I actually expected possibly more IF they got right busy on all the issues to start with. We went home and carried on thru the weekend; then thru the beginning of the week. on Wednesday the 11th, I drove thru the lot. Our trailer was STILL exactly sitting right where I left it. I verified. NOTHING had been touched. HMmmm.. our appointment was for MONDAY. not 3 or more days later. I was of course mad. I then showed up the following day to check again. this time our trailer was actually gone. so it must have been in the bay being Looked at. so we ASSUMED we would hear something within a day or so. Friday rolled around, Saturday. we went back again to see the trailer back out in the lot. we looked it over. NOT ONE SINGLE THING HAD BEEN DONE for fixing; the only thing was the coaxle hookup was hanging out of the wall. I was MAD when we left. then we waited; Sunday, then Monday. I finally had my wife call THEM to ask what was going on. and without any good excuse they told us X.Y.Z. yada yada. yada.. most of the stuff they couldn't even find any fault in..O.K...but the other things were not covered under the warranty and they would have to order the parts and wait for them to arrive to be installed. Of course I was mad as the devel they had my trailer THAT LONG and had no real reason to keeping it that long and NOT getting ahold of us. HOW LONG would they have waited before letting us now anything?!?!. We were so put off by there lack of customer service and laziness we told them to put our trailer back together I will fix it myself!! ( all they had done was take the HDTV antenna plug out of the wall) because we were coming in on Tuesday the 17th to pick it up in the morning time. We got there as said, on the 17th at approximately 11:07 we walked in the door. the lady at the counter told us they had all gone to lunch and would be back in about 15-20 minutes.. so I went back to verify my trailer was put all back good. doors locked and step up and ready to go. then went across the road the the Antique store to waste time. we walked back in at about 11:40 and they STILL were not back from lunch. It wasn't tell after 12 noon that I was finally rang up for there pathetic "diagnostic" charge to which I didn't even get a copy of the paper with there findings. I had to say something just to get my copy of the warranty back. and on top of that it was such a huge inconvenience that they had to go get on there forklift to manually move my trailer out because they had parked it withing about 18" of the trailer to the left of mine. there was no way I would have not scraped something trying to get it out with my truck. I found there complete lack of customer service to be about the worst. and will NEVER be back there again. there prices for there stuff was literally between 150% and 300% higher then the exact same items I can get on Amazon. We had an issue with our black water valve not working. Called and were told. Oh yeah probably a half hour to replace the valve. Part is 21.95. Told us to leave it on Fri. Am. They were squeezing us in. They had the rig all day and told us they had broke the valve and were having trouble getting it out. To make a long story longer, I am a travel nurse and live in my rig when away from my home. They had to keep the rig all weekend. Had to get s hotel for 3 days. Today we were presented our bill. $777.00. Add 350. For the hotel...yikes. We needed some other minor things done but FORGET IT. read more

Don't confuse the RV sales office with Coumbs RV Repair! I have used John and his crew for years at the RV Repair side of the house, and once again, he just finished a complex job with no issues. I was hauling my 5th wheel off Collins Rd in Lewis County when I hit a chunk of wood. Stopped to check, but did not notice the significant damage that had been done to the steps and skin until I got home. I called Coumbs RV Repair, and the owner told me to come in and he would personally help me. Brought the trailer in, and he started the estimate. Because I had insurance, he was able to submit the estimate, photos, and time to fix the day after I brought it in (I had to coordinate with my insurance company). John explained that some of the parts were no longer available from the manufacturer, so he developed a repair estimate based on new parts from another source. He told me that it would take about 10 days for the parts, and he could complete the repair in about a day. Made arrangements with service manager (Phillip) to drop the trailer off for repair. Two days later, my trailer repair was complete. This is not unusual for this business. They have never let my wife and I down. We have had 4 trailers in the last 25 years, and John and his crew have fixed all but one of the issues we had. They are reasonable, personable, and seem to really want to help. They are not assembly line like some of the repair shops, and their technicians know their business. I have never been disappointed. Remember, don't confuse the RV Repair business with the RV consignment lot. They are separate and owned by different family members. read more

We made an appointment to have the fridge in our van looked at, 8 days prior to our appointment. After patiently waiting the 8 days and dropping our van off at 8 AM sharp we go through the regular drop your car off stuff. Around 2 PM we call inquiring as to the progress. Put on hold. For 15 minutes. Call back and ask again and are told "Everyone is busy if you can't wait then tough sh$t!" WOW!! So we call back again and speak with the Tech Tom. Tom was very polite and let us know that he has no idea about our van and will most likely not get to it today. Why, Why Why would we have made an appointment 8 days out?? I could understand if Tom found something and needed parts and couldn't get to finish fixing it that day BUT he or anyone else had yet to even look at it!! The "Tough Sh$T!" remark was a little over the top for me. If I can not trust to be respected on the phone, how can I trust them with my asset. They have no respect for your time.
