Bagels themselves were decent, however, they gave me the wrong breakfast meat which at first didn't bother me too much, mistakes happen. Then my friends got their sandwiches, and their bagels were swapped! All of our sandwiches had something wrong with them. Close to WCU campus, so probably a big hit with students. Prices were very reasonable, but flavor and quality of ingredients were just not there for us. My husband had their "National" sandwich (roast beef), but even though they were Boar's Head cold cuts, it just lacked flavor. My chicken salad was presented attractively, but it too was lacking in much flavor. Homemade bagel chips were good, and a nice touch. Portions were satisfying, and as mentioned, prices were very modest for the serving size. Will try them again and update later. read more

Very good bagels, coffee and flavored spreads. I very much appreciate having freshly made bagels, made in the store that also have the seasoning on not just one, but both sides of the bagel and having plenty of it too, unlike many places who put so little on that after the bagel is cut and toasted hardly any, if any, seasoning is left on it. The spreads are made with real pieces of jalapeno for jalapeno spread, lox for lox spread and so on. Coffee was hot and good, not like that Starbucks swill people rave about and is way too bitter. However, they don't have decaf so know before you go. The bakery items, italian cookies, muffins, etc. are tempting and worth getting. The seating area is small but not unlike many others in the NYC, NJ, Philly area. It works. I recommend this place but it still doesn't beat the places in NYC and on the Jersey side - Bagel Buffet in Secaucus which I've written about previously. I read more

What an incredible find! I had to go to West Chester on an errand and I stopped by Country Bagel. Got a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, bottle of OJ, two giant cookies and a chocolate croissant (warmed up) FOR TEN DOLLARS. It was unbelievable! And everything was absolutely delicious. We broke up with our local bagel spot and now drive a bit for our weekly bagels, but it's been well worth it. Bagels are tasty and fresh...almost like a soft pretzel texture if that makes sense. Ordered online two lox and cream cheese bagels. Paid online and left a generous tip. Told it would be ready by 7:59. Gave them a little extra time and arrived at 8:09. Order not ready and the children running the place made excuses but never said "Sorry", or anything close to it. Actually, they were quite rude. Order was finally ready at 8:25. Now to the order itself, the bagels are okay. It should be called a bagel with onion and a wisp of lox. And why are bagel chips included? Horrible service and a less than adequate product. Three and a half stars, I'm rounding up to 4 because, shop local an' that. The bagels themselves are GREAT - fresh baked, crispy on the outside, lots of varieties, and unlike many bagel places they are not sold out or closed by 1 pm (in fact on a couple days they are even open through dinner hour). They also sell many varieties of flavored cream cheese in tubs and a reasonable selection of fresh pastries. So if you're looking to pick up a dozen bagels to go, a tub of gourmet spread and a few pastries for your breakfast table, then by all means hit them up. With respect to stuff prepared there, there are many breakfast options for bagels with eggs and meats, etc. You can also get bagels with butter, jelly, peanut butter, and cream cheese. However, when you order a plain old bagel with cream cheese and lox, don't expect a bagel with plain cream cheese and a piece of salmon sitting on top of that and maybe an option for an onion slice - instead you get one with lox-flavored cream cheese applied, said cream cheese containing a couple wee pieces of fish, Um, no. Also have to agree with the comments that the inside looks like a dingy urban deli (doesn't jive with luxury apartments, fancy hair salons and Restaurant Row all within a block or two) and the staff can be bumbling or less than thrilled to be there, based on who you get. read more

I came here to pick up a mid-morning breakfast on a weekday, having been to another location in the past. The restaurant itself feels dingy and the two people working there, while not outright rude, seemed like they would much rather be someplace else. My bacon, egg and cheese croissant was, sadly, inedible. The (I'm assuming microwaved) egg was bland and not evenly distributed on the croissant (I'm talking a tiny bit on one half and a much larger chunk on the other), the cheese was barely melted, and the bacon... oh, sweet bacon... three strips folded together, microwaved into a hard clump and stuck on the sandwich. Country Bagel may be a fine place to help nurse a hangover, but those us us looking for a tasty start to the day are advised to take a pass on this one. read more

Great people working hard to provide you with their delicious breakfast food. Recently placed an online order and it was prepared timely and accurately. People inside were working hard but managed to always exchange pleasantries with the guests. We found the bagels and egg sandwiches delicious. Special shout out (from my son) who loved their bacon. They have a small parking lot on the side of the store, so if you get lucky, you'll be delighted with the convenience...if not, you'll be walking a bit. read more
