This adorable bakery is like walking into a sweet Italian grandma's house and being wrapped in a warm carb loaded hug, with copious amounts of quality cream cheese. They also had an assortment or olive oil, honey, maple syrup, vanilla for baking and a cooler section for take home! I got an everything bagel with the chive cream cheese and the taste had me doing a happy dance while simultaneously being in complete shock at the goldmine I had just found. The service was friendly and helpful. The breads and pastries are BEAUTIFUL. I'm so glad I finally stopped and gave this place a shot. Went here for the first time at 9AM on a snowy Saturday and was pleasantly surprised! It's a pretty small place and it got busy while I was waiting so it did feel a little crowded. I got an everything bagel with cream cheese, a loaf of sourdough, and an iced matcha. The bagel was fantastic and loaded with cream cheese! I'm definitely going back just for another bagel. The matcha was good but took an extra ten-ish minutes of waiting due to an influx of customers and because the barista prepared it the traditional way with a matcha bowl & whisk, which is a nice touch but not necessary in my opinion. The sourdough is pretty good too but not as outstanding as the bagel. The workers were all very nice and helpful even with the amount of customers, but it seemed a little unorganized and chaotic behind the counter at times. My mom recently moved to the area, and on my most recent visit, we decided to stop by early in the morning on the way home from the dog park. We were craving bagels and warm bread, and wow did this lovely bakery deliver! We arrived in time to grab some bagels (a few everything and sesame, they also offered a few other flavors), a loaf of rustic bread, and the croissant of the day (sausage and cheese, with a coating of yummy seasonings). We were tempted by the other baked items, but it was so hard to narrow down the options! They also supply homemade cream cheese in various flavors, as well as butter, yogurt, eggs, and specialty kitchen items. The place itself is small but welcoming, and the staff were super friendly! The bagels and croissant were SO good, I can't overstate how delicious and perfectly dense/fluffy the bagels are, especially when warmed and toasted. The bread is sourdough and is beautifully baked. Was really looking forward to the baguette I picked up at the Kennett Square Farmers market, but when I got it home it was burnt all up and down the middle, and I don't mean just dark brown. I am going to start this review by saying that I am originally from Long Island, New York, so I take my bagels very seriously. I moved here 7 years ago and have had a hard time finding any good bagels nearby. It's something I miss dearly about home! In terms of BREAD, they do a very nice job here. I love the croissants, buns and other various breakfast items they have. HOWEVER, these are not "real" bagels on their menu. I'm sorry, but the people around here don't know any better. The "bagels" here are just bread with a hole in it, that you're calling a bagel. I've wanted this to be my bagel spot so badly, but the multiple times I've visited it just misses the mark. My husband who is also a Long Island native agrees. Every time I've ordered a "bagel" from here it has been hard and tasteless. The consistency isn't bagel like either. I find that I have to travel to Manhattan bagel in WC for a more familiar bagel to that of New York. I don't want to bash a small business because I do appreciate having something like this in the community. They have other good food items, but you're calling it a bagel when it's just not. I was disappointed that the strawberry cream cheese was already sold out but I was able to order a seeded baguette, morning bun, and a dozen bagels - poppyseed, everything, Asiago and cinnamon raisin. The bread smelled so good in my car ride home. I wish my car would smell like that forever! The bagels are so light and fluffy as was the morning bun. The baguette looks delicious and I can't wait to have it with dinner tonight. As one reviewer mentioned, they're not quite as good as you can find in New York but I would say by far the best in at least a 30 mile radius. Only one complaint.... I seldom walk out with just my bagel sandwich. So much great stuff I usually can't resist picking up a few other items. It's a cute, tiny, family owned business. Very excited to finally have a bakery in town and I will always support a mom&pop. Bagels are very dense and filling! Pricey compared to other bagel shops in Chesco, but convenient. I was craving avocado toast, and while I had the ingredients at home, decided to give them business and have some yummy bread with it. The bread was good, but the avocado (though abundant) was very under-ripe & hard. I ended up tossing the avocado and putting my own on. For $10 for 2 pieces, that kind of hurt. Long long ago in what seems a galaxy far, far away, I had the opportunity to spend a few years living in Ireland. One of the many culture shifts (and in this case one I miss) is grocery shopping. Sounds nuts, right? But in this case, you went to the local butcher for your meats, Baker for baked goods, etc etc. Local artisans are few and far between in our area. I found out this Baker, who was a regular at weekend pop-up markets in the area, opened a storefront in a local shopping center. I now have one part of that nostalgic feeling back, making trips for fresh baked goods! This is a bread bakery: They make breads, croissants, etc. No doughnuts, no over-sugared items. But oh my God, they know what they are doing in the products they make. The croissants are some of the best I've had ANYWHERE in eastern PA. Huge, flaky, buttery low-carb-diet destroyers, but worth it. So far, I've had their baguettes and rye bread along with the croissants, and they also have been excellent. It may sound crazy, but you can tell the difference between scratch bread and the kind baked in house as supermarkets... With pre-made dough. The couple who run this bakery are awesome and friendly, and often have their kids there hanging out - Definitely jealous of that aspect of their business. Hands down the best bagels I've had in PA. We found this place randomly while driving through the area - we were picking up Bahn Mi in the same shopping center and spotted the "bagels" sign. The woman working (owner?) was very nice and accommodating even though it was the end of her day and we walked up to the store instead of ordering online. She answered all of our questions and processed our order from a safe distance without us entering the shop. Also bought a pane bianco loaf which was excellent. We will be back next time we are in the area and will even order through the online system like we're supposed to. read more

This is our first time trying what we thought would be a wonderful experience. The counter girl was rude. When we got home, we noticed that our whitefish salad appeared as if it was already eaten out of the container. I contacted the store directly and was directed to the manager. Maria (the owner) answered the phone saying "What's up" When I explained to her the whitefish salad looks like it had been eaten already she said "We just scoop it out and throw it into a container so it doesn't look so nice and neat". She was not warm or friendly by any means, and far from a professional! I asked her what her full name was. She refused to give me her last name. I am far from impressed with their products and their service is beyond disappointing, I am not one to write poor reviews but no one else should spend money to be treated the way we just were, especially from the owner. As I was sitting in the parking lot of Acme looking over my grocery list I remembered I needed bagels. Right when I look up I see a giant neon sign saying BAGELS right in front of me. Jackpot! I walk over and see that they aren't doing walk in orders. I understand. I wait for about a minute and a women came out to greet me. I asked for a half dozen bagels and stated that I would like half poppy and half cinnamon raisin. She quickly pointed to a trey in the window with 7 bagels on it. A mix of salt, plain, and everything. This was odd because it was noon. The hey had no selection. Begrudgingly I bought 6 and went grocery shopping. The next day, not knowing I tried this place out, my wife announces to me that I should never buy bagels from Acme again. She hated them. I tried one and didn't like it either. I can't attest to any of their breads or pastries, but their selection and the taste of the bagels will have me shopping elsewhere. read more
