Small but quaint and clean cafe in a restored, downtown building. Incredible Greek food. She had spanakopita and a Greek salad. Great presentation and very fresh ingredients. He had the day's special ... smoked barbecue beef brisket with oven roasted lemon potato wedges. The bbq was sweet and homemade. The beef could not have been any more tender, served on a toasted Kaiser roll. Baklava was a great treat to top off a great meal! We hear this place has the best gyros this side of Fira. "That Greek Place". I gotta say that name is perfect for this restaurant! It is simply the best greek food I've eaten in the United States. I can highly suggest this restaurant to anyone in the area who is looking for greek cuisine should consider this if they're in a 50 mile radius or more. I had the Gyros Supreme and a Gyros Melt on two separate visits. I would highly suggest getting the Gyro Supreme as a first time meal at this restaurant. It is perfect size to fill me up and it has all you need for a meal: Crisp fresh salad, delicious feta cheese, Tzatziki and amazingly seasoned gyros meat cooked to perfection. It was absolutely delicious and all the ingredients just created an orchestra of flavour with every bite. As a desert I got a complimentary Baklava for visiting for the first time, and it was simply great. Perfectly made, and everything just fell together so well I have no complaints. The restaurant itself is currently expanding its sitting space and it is a very rustic and old looking building but it just has a very family and homey feel to the whole restaurant. The staff are extremely friendly and are always ready to assist. My only problems I have with this restaurant is a weird opening time (3PM which doesn't work out for lunch. Something like 10:30AM to 1PM and then 4PM to X PM would be better for me.) and a pretty small menu but it tastes amazing. Seriously if you like greek and you are in the neighbourhood, go here. My second house and family farm is in fairly close proximity of Country Belle Cafe and I have actually been here lots and lots of times and never written a review. Not only is Country Belle Cafe the only choice for Greek food within about a 45 minute drive one way and an hour and half drive the other way but it is literally the best food within the three towns of Belle, Bland, and Owensville. On this night I had their spanakopita special with the baked mixed vegetables. The spanakopita is flaky and buttery and the mixed vegetables are perfectly spiced with dill. Everything is good here though. The hummus, salads, gyros, and daily specials are all fresh and made to order. The owners are hard working and friendly. Their desserts are freshly made and out of this world. They recently started serving beer and wine. You need to stop by the Country Belle Cafe the next time you find yourself in Belle, Missouri. read more
