Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We waited an excessive amount of time without being acknowledged, while several staff members appeared to be gathered in the back talking instead of assisting customers. What was even more concerning was the treatment we received, which felt discriminatory toward members of the LGBTQ+ community. Every customer deserves to be treated with respect and professionalism, regardless of who they are. Management should provide better training to employees on customer service, inclusivity, and basic acknowledgment of guests. A simple greeting and willingness to help can make a significant difference. Sadly, this experience fell far below expectations. read more

The service was so quick and our waitress helped out with all of our questions. They had a great country playlist so the customers got a karaoke session from me too! I got the Jam burger with tots. My husband got the western burger with tots and we split OG mac n cheese bites for an appetizer. The jam burger had a spicy jelly on it so it was not my jam (lol) but I had a few bites. The western was so good and flavorful! Don't even worry about the mac n cheese bites......sooo good! The food was pretty good, with a large selection on the menu. Our waitress was very kind and quick to help us. The appetizers were a bit of a letdown due to how small they were, especially the mushrooms. My peanut butter jelly smashburger was different but very good, and everyone else said their food was decent. I didn't enjoy the pepper jack bites. Absolutely incredible stop on my cross-country roadtrip. I got the Big Cheesy burger, topped with bacon, jalapeño mac n cheese poppers, and bbq sauce. Literally top 3 burgers I've ever had. Waited over 35 minutes for burgers and fries, when food finally arrived every thing was cold including the cheese sauce that came straight out of a can. Payed 78.00 and still gave the waitress a 20.00 tip, really not sure why. DO NOT GO!!! There shouldn't be the word FAMOUS on the sign. read more

We visited on a Monday around 1:00 pm. Although the restaurant was less than a quarter full, it took about 10 minutes to receive menus and place our drink order. I had a build-your-own burger, which was good, but the pickle fries were inedible due to what seemed like rancid oil. My husband ordered the Big Cheese Burger with regular fries--the fries were excellent, but he said the burger tasted off. The presence of flies in the windows further detracted from the experience. We will definitely be coming back to this one!! We just missed breakfast but enjoyed the variety on their menu. They offer so MUCH more than just burgers!!! My son had the fish special and said it was the best he's had - 4 large pieces of flaky fish friend golden brown. I had the hot mess chicken sandwich and it was delicious. The real show stopper was definitely the wings! They were fried perfectly with wonderful little crispy bits and they make their own unique sauce that is sweet with mild heat at the end. Excellent house made desserts as well, we grabbed a slice of gooey butter for the road. Service was fast, helpful with recommendations and a joy to interact with. Had breakfast there this morning with friends. Loved the eggs and hash browns and bacon. Didn't care that much for the sausage or the biscuits and gravy. The pancake was bigger than a dinner plate. We came here from next door at the Sullivan roadside motel and noticed this diner when we checked in. We missed dinner time the night before because they close by 8 pm. So, the next day, we came here for breakfast, and both my husband and I had pancakes and sausage. The pancakes are worth it. They were sweet, spongy, and tasty. The sausage tasted like any sausage patty. However, the coffee, my goodness, was it awful. We requested orange juice, and that wasn't any better. The waitress was very nice and accommodating and understood our feelings on the coffee. We were seated quickly and our server brought our drinks while we looked at the menu. There is a great variety to choose from. My husband got a cheeseburger with fries; I got a mushroom Swiss burger with tots. Both were well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. He ate all his fries and said they were really good. Service was good and fast, Friendly waitresses and waiter. They help each other out with the tables. The burgers were decent, the presentation wasn't great. They were sloppy and the lettuce was soggy. Fries were cold and not good. Cheese curds were good, although the portion sizes on the side orders and apps were small. Toasted Ravs were good, but tiny. The woman's bathroom had one broken stall and one with a broken lock. A staff member walked in on me without an apology and didn't even close the door back. I often visit Rich's in Sullivan Mo for breakfast.TodaY I went for lunch.What a disappointing time.My son and I ordered BLTs I asked for crisp bacon .When the sandwiches were finally given to us ( we waited quite awhile) both sandwiches had half cooked bacon on them,the waitress took them back into the kitchen and when we got them back on the same bread ( which was also half grilled) with cold potatoes and onion rings.Not good the waitress was great but the food was awful.I won't be going there for lunch again and breakfast is iffy.oh yeah and the least they could have done was cut the sandwiches in half.I couldn't prove it but because I worked as a waitress for many years I could almost bet the order was overlooked so it was just thrown together. read more

Burgers are handmade in 1/4 or 1/2lb. Asked to be cooked medium, juicy not bloody = perfect. Coleslaw finely chopped, sweeter but not overly, slightly creamy w/a hint of horseradish. We went to Meramec Caverns and needed lunch afterwards. Instead of eating the basic cafeteria food available at the Caverns, we decided to venture into town. Rich's is about a 10 min drive from the caverns and right off of I-44 and is well worth the stop. I decided to get their namesake burger which is essentially a combo of 2 sandwich faves: a PBJ + smash burger. Having never thought to put peanut butter or jelly on a burger, i was intrigued. I actually kinda liked it, especially the peanut butter. My sister ordered the fried catfish platter which was also quite good. It comes out with 4 large catfish filets and a side of fries. We had a number of items but I'll share mine. We started with the cheese curd sampler. It was presented with marinara sauce and ranch style sauce to dip. There was a mix of cheeses. Well worth the snacking! I had the western burger. Presented on Texas toast with cheddar, a nice crispy onion ring and bbq sauce! A good basic burger. There was a lot on the burger and the burger flavor itself was actually masked. Next time I'd do a basic burger to rate the beef itself. They say the patties are formed each day. So given that, I'll try a basic burger next go around. Onion ring were nicely done! Crispy and not greasy. The fries ordered in our meal set were a bit cold. That was the only disappointment.
