If you looked up "greasy spoon" in the dictionary there would be a picture of this place. I went with the liver and onions, a true diner staple, and it was pretty decent overall. The liver was tender and cooked just right, not overdone and rubbery like it can be sometimes with plenty of sautéed onions for that classic savory bite. That said, the side of brown gravy I added was a big miss, nearly inedible. It tasted overly salty, thick in a pasty way, and had an off, almost burnt flavor that overpowered everything else. I left most of it untouched. On the bright side, the service was genuinely good; friendly, quick, and attentive without hovering. The prices are very affordable, making it an easy spot for a no-fuss, hearty meal when you're craving classic diner comfort food. We ordered breakfast and we got exactly what we ordered breakfast. The eggs were cooked as ordered, the hash brown were browned, the bacon was almost crispy and the coffee was strong. I imagine they enjoy a loyal following of people who live nearby. I doubt that I would go there for dinner but I would certainly return for breakfast. While also saying "someone was going to take over". after we paid, nobody checked on us probably because we paid and then the original waitress came half an hour later asking if we'd like more fish. I ate here on march 3rd 2024, the service and employees were super nice. The monte carlo was pretty good. The new york steak was good & gravy was yummy. The shrimp was hardly shrimp but yummy. Like fries , I dont know what i ate for the shrimp but it was tasty fried balls. Wouldnt get the shrimp again, but the rest of the food was lovely. We told the waitress and all she did was get another bowl with ranch! We did not touch it after that. Hash browns served burnt- not crispy BURNT Omelet- had processed cheese over it that looked like play-doh and bacon and sausage looked like it had been previously cooked and re heated Bisquits and gravy - cold gravy super lumpy not in a good way Avocado burger -Meat undercooked! No words to describe the rest just discusting! Fries- Under cooked not crispy actually kind of soggy Toast - dont know did not get although was ordered Drinks- warm very little ice Coffee- was cold and was never offered a refill Water- Dont know asked for it but never recieved Pancakes- were undercooked actually batter was raw inside Most of the food was left untouched as it was not good and after the hair in the ranch, we had lost our appetites. I'm embarrassed to say I couldn't finish their signature "Country Boys Big Breakfast." How big is it? Follow this: Three eggs, slab of breakfast ham, two sausage links, two bacon strips, hash browns (instead of country potatoes), biscuits and gravy (both homemade), and two 12-ince pancakes. I couldn't finish the pancakes. Don't judge me! All that with a cup of coffee that the servers never let get more than half filled for less than $14. The most dangerous thing (for them) I saw: All-you-can-eat spaghetti on Mondays and fish fry three days a week. I want to come back for their blueberry pie and other desserts. read more

I had a scramble with sausage and eggs over a biscuit with gravy on top of it. Served with hash browns. I couldn't finish it all. Hubby got an omelette that came with hash browns and 2 pancakes. Made a great choice in coming here for breakfast, I've got to say I was very impressed with not only the prompt and courteous waitstaff but also the ambiance the restaurant as a whole projected. I was greeted as soon as I stepped into the restaurant and shown to a table. The specials were pointed out to me as I received a menu and the waitress then brought my drink. The food was awesome and the waitress made several stops by my table to refill my drink and ask if there was anything I needed. My wife and I stopped here for a late lunch/ early dinner. We want to try the smaller restaurants in our area. The atmosphere isn't much to look at. It's old and outdated but that's how hole in the wall diners are. My wife ordered the ham special and I got the rib dinner. My wife's salad was sad chopped iceberg smothered in thousand island. The ham was suspect but overall acceptable for the price. The mash potatoes were good and had lumps which indicated they were homemade. The brown gravy had a canned feel and the potatoes were scooped on the melamine plate like a school lunch. They were good for what they were. The ribs were a bit tough. It was a decent portion. The bbq sauce was a standard sweet bbq. They were probably braised. My one star rating comes from the applesauce. The moment it hit my mouth it had a carbonated feel and fermented taste. The applesauce was past it's prime. When I brought it to the waitresses attention she said she would tell the kitchen. I was surprised that there was no resolution. My wife still wanted pie and we were served the saddest slice of mass produced pie. Im disgusted and question the sanitation practices at this location. For our second visit we were once again served by energetic Erica and Laura each of whom were most pleasant and courteous. I ordered the 1/4 Chicken Special (very messy but good) and the mashed pototoes with brown gravy (far different from what I expected, but a generous serving). My friend ordered the Meatloaf and while it was very tasty, she found it too "salty" and recalls requesting no added salt. I tasted it (I love Meatloaf) and found it prepared to my liking. Erica was kind enough to offer and deliver to us some diced tomatoes and grated cheese as compensation for a slight delay in taking our order which made the house salad into a meal by itself. Erica is very kinetic and had several tables besides ours to attend. She's a very solicitous server and exceeded our expectations as she did on our first visit. In all, a pleasant experience. Don't come during the last hour... you will be rushed out. Don't get me wrong, I want to go home on time as much as the next person and hate people who show up at 7:45 when we close at 8...but my fiance and I were there at 7 at the latest. I ordered the cheeseburger club and he got the all you can eat fish fry. We were about halfway through our meal just before 7:30 when we hear our server (who has been blunt but not rude or discourteous) tell people entering the restaurant that the kitchen is closed and sending them off. The place closed at 8, and keep in mind, my fiance wanted at least two refills on his fish fry and he hadn't gotten any yet. It was all you can eat, after all, so we start to get worried. He was able to get two more pieces of fish (one refill's worth) out of the kitchen before it shut down but he easily could've eaten at least one more. We left around 7:45 and were the last people there (everyone after us had been turned away) and felt like we had to rush out the door. The check was dropped on the table without a word, waitress clearly didn't want us there - I saw her taking care of another couple with the fish fry who were leaving as we were sitting down and she treated them so much nicer. One of the waitresses literally walked out behind us...look I get it, but if you're open until 8, your kitchen is open until 8 or until your last paying customer leaves. I understand turning new people away at 7:45 - that's really common in Europe - but if we're already seated and want more fish at 7:45, we should be able to get it. Or at least offer a refill of the fish to go if you're shutting down the kitchen on someone who hasn't gotten more of an all you can eat plate. You as employees should expect to be there until 8:30 closing the kitchen after patrons leave. And if I'm still seated at 8, I will 100% be fine if the kitchen is closed. But it should not close at 7:30. Lazy. Just want people to be aware of this as they do a lot of all you can eat specials. Don't come for them during the last hour they're open. You might not get a refill if you're a slower eater. read more

Even though the place was busy (Sunday breakfast time) I was immediately seated, the servers were friendly and everyone used the obligatory "hon" when addressing you, and the food came fast in spite of the busy time. Taste and quality of the food were typical for a diner - OK, not great, but the pancakes were definitely more than I could finish. We went to Country Boys to eat a skillet breakfast. They made a great dinner for my husband, but I wasn't hungry so I ate a very small dinner salad. No complaints that night. In fact we thought the place was friendly. Today was different. As a vegan, I tried to order a skillet. They didn't have any beans and the waitress said they never substitute the egg or cheese with anything. When i suggested the beans or spinach she basically said, "We don't have beans and we don't substitute eggs." No up-selling at all. She seemed to not want us there and was apparently irritated by us. There were two tables open and she wanted us to sit under a TV that was playing the movie "Jason." We couldn't talk, because of all of the screaming from the movie. She was upset that we wanted to be moved, because that meant she had to clean another table. She didn't want to change the channel, since she was watching the horror movie. Very inappropriate!
