So this place is called Himalayan Heritage, out in Fredericksburg. Not gonna lie, its a bit out of the way for us since we're in Woodbridge/Fairfax, so it's not somewhere I'll be hitting up all the time. But my in-laws put me onto it and I really wanted to check it out. Vegetarian Friendly: I'm vegetarian, and I been craving momos for a while, so this was perfect. Loved that the menu is a mix of Indian and Nepalese, nice to have both options. Decor: I actually loved the decor it was fun but it was pretty dead in there when we went so it didnt help teh vibes Food Ordered: We got a bunch of stuff from veggie momos, haka noodles, gulab jamun, kheer, and a mango lassi. Food Breakdown: Everything was really really good. The momos were exactly what I wanted and man that sause hit different. The desserts (gulab jamun and kheer) were great too, and the mango lassi hit the spot. Only thing is the Haka noodles, they just didnt taste like actual haka noodles to me, kinda a funky version of it. Not bad, just not what I was expecting. This restaurant had been popping up on my Facebook feed for a while, so on our way back from Williamsburg to Woodbridge, we decided to add it to our itinerary. I'm so glad we did! The menu was comprehensive and had something for everyone, making it a great choice for families and groups of all ages. We ordered the Chicken Dhido Thali, Goat Thali, Combo Platter, Jhol Momo, Sukuti Sadheko, Aloo Paratha, and Mango Lassis. Every single dish was authentic, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Nepali cuisine is distinctive in its spices and use of soy products, and I ordered distinctively Nepali dishes. Their momo were delicious and fresh-tasting and had a mouthwatering mustard sauce. My favorite dish from the cuisine is aloo tama bodi, a curry of black eyed peas, bamboo shoots, shoots, and potato, and theirs was hot and spicy and full of additional flavor. An herb naan that I didn't really need was nonetheless a tasty way to mop up the curry. Another takeout order to try new items we tried veg samosas Kothi momos and chicken Jalfrezi as always the momos were very flavorful and delicious the veggie samosas tasted better without the accompanying sauces. However, I found that the chicken in the chicken jalfrezi was tough. Mom absolutely loved the hot and sour soup. Though the delicious favors remained in the reheat the chicken was still tough. Was visiting area on a road trip and decided to try Himalayan food for first time. Dropped by for a late lunch and for this business open and not busy. We were greeted and seated immediately with out water drink order taken. They do have a full bar if you like. The restaurant was clean from our perspective. We had to ask a few questions to our server for clarification which were answered well. We decided to split orders of Spinach Chaat and Chicken Momo Kothey. The Spinach came out first as it is an appetizer. Interesting deep fried with topping of an oil, chopped onion and tomato. The leaves come out lite as feathers. Very interesting texture abd flavorful. The Momo Kothey, version of pot stickers, came out in appropriate time with a side dish of a mild sauce. We elected to have these steamed and finished with pan fry. These were very good as well. Our waiter checked on us once and refilled our waters. Just enjoyed a great dinner at Himalayan Heritage. The food and service were both excellent. Tucked away on a quiet street the restaurant has plenty of parking around the restaurant. Inside are rows of tables with white tablecloth and a small flower arrangement in the center of each table. We made a reservation but the restaurant was not very busy. They play some ambient music in the background but the restaurant is very quiet. We got the vegetable pakoras appetizer and two of the largest pakoras ever were served with tamarind, mint, and another sauce. These were delicious. I ordered the Himalayan platter which had a nice variety of Mo mo and gobi. My wife got the Himalayan curry with chicken. All dishes are made medium spicy unless otherwise noted. Medium is fairly robust so do not order very spicy unless you know what to expect. We also got an order of garlic naan. The restaurant will gladly provide take out containers for leftovers- however we enjoyed everything so much that we didn't have any leftovers to take. They have a good selection of wine and cocktails on the menu and the bottle prices are decent. We got a bottle of the Campo Viejo Garnacha and it was brought to the table with a dragon aerator spout which was a great touch. I wish more restaurants would do that. The only problem was the wine could have been chilled but was room temperature. Overall a great experience and I look forward to returning. read more

if you're at the hotel across the street, look no further. This was a kind of hidden gem. Absolutely delicious, although I'd not bother getting any of the other naan than the garlic in the future. The matar paneer was amazing. Husband does NOT like peas but happily ate this and agreed when I suggested we try recreating a similar dish at home. Chana masala was top notch. Sizzling platter was definitely sizzling and the chicken tikka was outstanding. Service was good. It's a very nicely appointed restaurant. Looks a little aged but does midscale opulance well. The staff showed my dad mad love on his birthday and we had a group of like 15 people. They played my dad a birthday song and brought out a delicious vanilla coconut cake after our meal. Following a lead from a TikToker in Fredericksburg, Jeff and I found ourselves at Himalayan Heritage Restaurant. We went on Saturday May 25th, 2025 at 12:30pm. We were one of three parties yay for us. The restaurant smells amazing from the second you enter the parking lot. I felt like snoopy floating along the path of "good smells" following it towards our lunch. We were greeted warmly upon entry. The decor has been criticized in other reviews but I found it to be culturally expressive, bright and classy without being overwhelmingly cluttered. The table clothes were linen and the flowers were live. The music was on theme but pleasant as background noise. Our waitress was knowledgeable about allergens, she was able to guide me. Jeff got the shrimp kabobs & naan. I ordered the butter chicken, papadums and chutney. The food came quickly and was delicious. We ordered mild because I cannot tolerate spice as I age but I assure you they can spice to your tolerance. We wanted to try desert but were so full that we had to pass. The portions were decent, the prices were standard for good Indian food but a little high for the area. That won't stop us from returning. We ordered chicken Tikka masala (my child's ) which I tasted, and could tell the chicken was undercooked. I told the server and he took it away. It returned full of cardamon. Search no more, I have found my top South Asian restaurant in Fredericksburg. I'd been wanting to try Himalayan Heritage for a long time and finally made it. My companion and I started with steamed MoMo (dumplings), which were super tasty and served with an orange sauce of sorts. For our entrees we ordered the Nepalese Style Curry and the Chicken Korma, along with the garlic and Himalayan Special naan. The chicken in both entrees was very tender, the curries themselves quite flavorful, and the naan was absolutely fresh. Everything was just absolutely exquisite and I also feel they gave use enough rice for our curries, which a lot of Indian/South Asian restaurants like to skimp on so you have to order more of it separately. The service at Himalayan was fantastic. They have white tablecloths for every table, which are changed after a party departs. The owner also walked around repeatedly checking in on guests and getting them what they needed. After a long drive from New Jersey, we were looking for a diner or restaurant to stop in after many miles we found the Taste of Himalaya. Neither my husband or I had ever had Indian food and never Himalayan but we were open to something new. My first visit was of course the immaculate bathroom, and then we were seated and looked over the menu. We were so happy our choices were so delicious. I had the cucumber salad and chicken jalfrezi (mild) and my husband had the shrimp vindaloo medium spice. Not only were our choices great but the rice was unexpectedly light and favorable. I tried the garlic Naan bread which I had never had before, it was slightly crispy and delicious. The whole restaurant was immaculately clean and our server was knowledgeable, helpful, and gave us a lot of information about the food and the spices. This would be a great place for a party it's quite large and I can see it being a bridal shower, family reunion, birthday or old friends get together. My friend and I were seated for lunch and there was only one table with one person in the dining room . Yet we waited and waited to give our order, finally calling to the server who was standing up front staring into space. When we ordered some shared appetizers - the Himalayan platter of pakora, momos etc, paratha bread, and mango pickle- he kept asking wouldn't we want to order more? We said leave the menu and we will see if we are still hungry after the food comes. He came over every five minutes to interrupt our conversation to ask if we wanted an entree, standing there persistently, even when we said no. So annoying.
