Too Good to Go Box. A box is $7 thru the app.

Too Good to Go Box. Plenty of variety of donuts and great quality too. Friendly, fast service, and overall great clean Cambodian place for donuts. Highly recommended! (A box is $7 thru the app)

It's an interesting place with good food. I got the ham egg bacon and cheese croissant and it was dam good. The place itself is a mess around you. All of the fridges had many different items and some were tossed around a bit. The donut counter was nice and had a good selection. It's definitely a place that truly serves the community around it, and i definitely support places like this.

Another place I found through the app - too good to go. My yelp girl Michelle L told me about the app. It has a lot of bakeries, some restaurants and a lot of donut places. They all have mystery bags / boxes of stuff they didn't sell and would otherwise be thrown away This place isn't too far from me and I've been wanting to try it As soon as I walked in the staff was really friendly. The lady behind the counter was great. I showed her I purchased the surprise boxes from the app and she started boxing up The donuts. She even gave me some donut holes to try while waiting I ended up getting these because I always bring them into the car dealership in the morning when I get an oil change for the workers. There was all kinds of donuts in the box. But mostly regular glazed, some maple ones and chocolate glazed. They also have a lot of other stuff to purchase like bobas. I also bought a couple cookies and she gave me one for free Whether you are trying a locally owned donut place or trying the app, give this place a try (The boxes on the app were 5.99)

Maple bars, sprinkle donuts, old fashioned chocolate donut.

These are solid donuts. Went early in the morning for the first time and was impressed. Its a hole in a wall donut shop. Got half a dozen and a large coffee for $11 reasonable. Good service. Would return.

Was looking up whatever would be open at 5am in lbc before taking my sister to the airport. Penguin donuts popped up so we headed over. Long Beach low key still lil hood, not like scary hood but the kind of crackhead hood. We were greeted by one once we drove up. Came inside and greeted quickly by an auntie. She was very sweet, even tho the man came inside and trynna get us to buy him things just lingering and touching shit. The auntie was pretty calm. Since this is normal for the businesses out there sadly. Ordered two Banh mi - Egg and a pork. They both were filled with topping and the pickled veggies were super fresh. These items took a little wait. So I recommend to call ahead. My sister gotten glazed twist donut she said was really good. Viet coffee wasn't that great but the hot coffee black was pretty good. The counter had mason jars of Mum papaya so I grabbed a few and snacked on those rest of the day. The flexible hours along with good service is be back. Just know if you do choose Togo before dawn it'll be kinda wild, harmless but wild.

Kind lady always at the front. I always enjoy supporting local small businesses like this. Please be patient with the lady at front she makes everything fresh with fresh ingredients. Sandwich was 10/10 and she also threw in some free donut holes.

Good donuts, even better customer services. Shout out to Mr.LEE for bringing sweeter than all the donuts are!

Great donuts, price point, and customer service. Thank you Mr.Lee. Was not expecting to find such a great donut place randomly but glad I did!

    Chicken Banh Mi
    Tuan T.

They were closed late night when my gf and I came check it out. yelp says they're open until 2 but I'm not sure if that's is every once and while. I came back the next day and I'm glad I did. The lady was really sweet and welcome to criticism on the spot if the food wasn't good. Bought a chicken Banh mi and beef Banh mi along with donuts. The sandwich was just right. And the prices are hard to beat for a Banh Mi. Would recommend. Donuts were pretty good too. Parking is a bit clunky so I would suggest coming in and parking in the main area because the back is hard to get back out from the alleyway.

Maple Bars and Thai Tea with boba
    Elijah S.

Came by in the evening to satisfy my cravings for some maple bars. It's a good small business with some tasty looking donuts behind the display window. There's some space for seating if you'd like to sit and eat. The donuts did not disappoint and the Thai tea was nice and refreshing to drink for the trip back home after, although I would probably go without the boba next time but that's just my preference. The woman working was very kind and attentive so I'm definitely coming back.

Using the Too Good To Go app, for $5.99 I got over a dozen of a variety of donuts! Glad Penguin Donuts partners with this app to prevent food waste. The donuts were tasty and the woman working was so kind. There were seats to dine in although ambience is lacking. Next time, I would try the breakfast bagel sandwiches and fresh squeezed juice.

I ordered several donuts and specifically asked the employee whether the specialty donuts counted toward a dozen. She told me that I would "just pay the difference," but never explained that ordering by the dozen would have actually been cheaper or that I was essentially paying for a dozen but only got 10 donuts. After I paid in cash and even tipped her, she casually told me, "Oh, you could've gotten two free donuts." I asked if I could still get the two donuts since I had already paid enough to qualify, and she responded, "maybe next time." That response was incredibly frustrating and honestly poor customer service. If I already paid enough to qualify for the dozen pricing, why wouldn't the employee explain it beforehand or simply honor it when I asked immediately afterward? Instead, I was told only after the transaction was complete, and then denied the items anyway. It felt misleading, unhelpful, and unnecessarily petty over two donuts. Small businesses survive on repeat local customers and goodwill, and this experience completely lost mine. There won't be a next time.

At Long Beach's Sweet Retreat Donuts, that meant limited-edition experimental donut varieties (mostly with tropical flavor profiles), as well as a reliable vegan donut lineup. Clearly, Sweet Retreat has been doing something right, as it's been a Pacific Coast Highway favorite for a decade. Over the years, it has garnered recognition from plenty of local news outlets, from Eater LA to LAist. The cramped strip mall is more eye-catching for its reptile supply store rather than its donut shop. Inside the shop, the expansive, donut-themed cartoon mural to the right immediately makes a statement. Houseplants are plentiful across the otherwise undecorated, whitewashed walls. Donuts are organized on trays by price, with the charge doodled directly onto the glass with a white marker. Ambient noise from the television is drowned out by chattering customers and the buzzing coffee machine. During the summer months, the AC-less shop feels tropically balmy. My partner and I arrived at Sweet Retreat late one Sunday morning, and the shop still boasted a steady stream of customers. By the time of our visit, the remaining selection was regrettably slim -- beyond the standard fare, the most unique donuts sported either candy coating or tropical frosting. We opted for a hibiscus-frosted raised donut and an apple fritter. The former had an excellent donut base, and the hibiscus frosting was floral and tropical (albiet I would have enjoyed a more punchy flavor). Meanwhile, the apple fritter fell on the cinnamon-y side, heavily doused in glaze so that each bite (even the edges) melted in your mouth; Sweet Retreat's rendition was one of my favorites in Greater LA. Our Vietnamese iced coffee was strong and sugary, but nothing more memorable than peer coffeeshops. The service was efficient, and our two donuts cost a reasonable $5 (even frill-free mom-and-pop shops charge in this range nowadays). The selection was sorely lacking, but Sweet Retreat more than made up for that with its high quality and reasonable prices. This bakery may not warrant a dedicated trip out of the way, but it is sure to deliver a satisfying treat if you're already in the neighborhood.

I intentionally went in to buy 2 donuts but left with 4 paying at $22.00 total Knead is a small location with one table inside no bathrooms available. Plenty parking that's for sure. Will I be back yes but I will not be a regular. I see sweets I gain weight. That's with most things.
