This shop closes early and I finally got a chance to visit and here's how that visit went. Broadway Donuts located on a busy street with minimal parking no worries for me I walked over with my dog Dylan Monroe as I attempted to enter I see a no dogs allowed sign I ask if it's ok to come inside because my baby is in a covered stroller she asks me if can I leave the stroller outside I promptly say NO!!! and they graciously allow me to enter. This 30 year old mom and pop donut shop holds no glamour or frills in the neighborhood but it's small clean and welcoming a bit warm inside but that's ok you're in and out very quickly. You're greeted by one of the owners Kim she seems to know everyone who enters the store she's a doll cute and kind her husband is in back he makes the grill orders and such. I ordered a ham egg and cheese croissant because of the high reviews and a few donuts. Ham egg and cheese croissant I warmed it up at home in my air fryer and let me tell you this was the best breakfast sandwich I have eaten in 2025 the croissant was tender and buttery the eggs where fluffy and fried to perfection and paired with the deli ham it was delicious this one is definitely a must try menu item. 10/10 Orange donut A fruity and tender cake donut with tiny bursts of orange flavor I loved it next time I'll enjoy it with an ice cold glass of almond milk. 9/10 Cinnamon donut. Tender and a bit dry not my favorite donut ironically because of the strong cinnamon taste but it's me the donut was fine occasionally I like to try this variety of cinnamon donut to see if I can find one that I actually like. 7/10 Glazed donut This donut was the bomb it was tender moist and flavorful and when I bit this bad boy I tasted notes of vanilla it was divine and is one of my all time favorite donuts. 10/10 Jelly donut Standard jelly filling was ok but the donut itself was the king it was tender and tasty just like the glazed donut that I loved. 9/10 They have quite a few donuts that I would love to try including drinks smoothies coffee and menu items I definitely will be back and recommend that you give them a try. The owners are Cambodian and I bonded with Kim over my love of the people and food she's very kind y'all and talkative just like me. ; ). Absolutely LOVE this donut shop. They are a small mom and pop business, they open at 4:00 am and close at 1 pm. Their donuts are extremely fresh and savory, they offer ham and cheese croissants as well. The real show stopper is their wall of coffee makers and coffee creamers. It's like being a kid in a candy store for morning coffee. I love selecting my specific flavored coffee and then adding different creamers. It's a serve yourself coffee bar, there are three coffee cup sizes to select from. There is a small array of sweeteners as well varying from regular sugar, brown sugar, and sugar substitutes. The couple that owns this coffee shop are very friendly and greet everyone that walks in. Parking is street and there's usually spots available or a short walk nearby. The best plain glazed yeast-raised donut I've had in years, highly recommended! The sort of place that basically only sells you two things: hot coffee and classic donuts. No crazy styles or other menu items to distract them from doing what they do: coffee and damn good donuts. For coffee: Lots of options, all brewed. If they had an espresso machine, I didn't see it, but I had my choice of a dozen brewed coffee varieties, and they all seemed to be steaming hot. There was a cooler that maybe had some canned/bottled ice coffee? Not really sure, I was fixated on hot coffee. For donuts: Yeast-raised is their jam for sure. The plain glazed was textbook perfect; soft but chewy, perfectly evenly fried, not too sweet, not bland, and perfect with coffee. The maple glazed was also a great choice. Dressed up gas station coffee, and overpriced at that. Very limiting and old school, no lattes or iced coffee. The owners tend to be rude and unpleasant most of the time, you can find mold in most of their glazed donuts as they don't toss out the old donuts, they have a steaming method where they make days old donuts fresh again. No healthy creamer options, all rancid oil crap. You can also catch the owner eating the donuts and placing the half eaten donut back in the display with the donuts they sale to customers. The litany of pre-made coffee options is enough to earn this place 5 stars. The nutty doodle coffee alone warrants a trip. Most all the other coffee blends or flavors have explanatory names like blueberry or hazelnut. The word "nutty" definitely gives one a hint, but "doodle" suggests that someone is about to be taken on a little ride of surprises. I've had a cup of nutty doodle. The nutty doodle-ness aligned my chakras, opened my 3rd eye, and reunited my being with the universe. So, worth a try, I'd argue. The donuts here are donuts. Straight up pink box sugar discs and choco bars. The staff here wastes no time, takes payment, and rushes the donut to the customer. All the donuts here are donuts. ONLY TAKES CASH AND DOES NOT HAVE AN ATM! I love living in Long Beach because it allows small local businesses to thrive without overcrowding. Donuts are my favorite food, even more than Brussels sprouts. My daily commute to work always passes Broadway Donuts, so I decided to try it. The majority of places only have street parking, so I parked on the street, which is not surprising. Less than 10 minutes are needed for the transition. Though the service wasn't the greatest, it wasn't the worst. I got my donuts, which were exactly what I wanted. It was impressive to say the least, the coffee bar had about 30 types of creamer, if you thought about it the flavors were there. I always try glazed rings and chocolate rings whenever I visit a new donut shop for the first time. The store itself was small and did not have much room, but it had a flow that allowed for an easy entrance and exit, as long as you didn't forget anything. The glazed donut was exceptionally well-balanced - not too sweet, not too cloying - and inviting enough to make you want more, and believe me I did. The chocolate donuts weren't my favorite, but that was more due to the top chocolate, which tasted almost burned. They did however land a classic, the glaze, so this place was worth a try. read more

Decided to try Broadway Donuts today, so.glad I did. They had a good selection of donuts, and a few choices in croissants in which I tried the Jalapeño, Hamann cheese, it was so good. My donut choice was the cinnamon roll, so soft, fresh and bursting with flavor. They have one of the most extensive coffee selections I've ever seen. Over a dozen in pump canisters, I tried the coconut, it was amazing. The parking is street parking only, the 7-11 across the way doesn't allow you to park in their lot, just a heads up. I've lived in Long Beach all my life and less than a mile away from here since the early 90s. And it took me over 2 decades to finally make it into this place. I was looking for a place nearby and sort of on my way to work to pick up donuts for my boss's birthday, and coffee and a small bite for my self. This place checked all the boxes! I picked out a dozen donuts, a turkey & cheese croissant for myself and a piping hot coffee. This place serves ALL kinds of coffee and even espresso in the countless dispensers set up. All self-serve. From Columbian, vanilla flavored, hazelnut, French roast, coffee from Guatemala and other parts of the world. I opted for the Kona coffee. Then there's the array of coffee creamers: different brands, different flavors and even the plant-based options. I was so thrilled to see all of this just available at no extra cost. If parking weren't an issue, I'd probably be here more often. Also, cash only which is a bit of a bummer, but all the options make it so worth it. I will definitely be back! Waiting for the ports to open, had time to Yelp up some donuts and coffee. Broadway was close enough and decided to jam by. There is only street parking, enough when I arrived around 6:00am. Is a 7/11 across the way would've parked and snuck across if there wasn't! So many hot coffee options, you grab your own cup and pour your choice of brew. There is literally 20 coffee flavors along with 20 coffee creamers! For donuts, sugar twist, maple bar, plain cake, blueberry cake. I originally asked for two plain cake but received blueberry but why not! The donuts are not to sweet and fluffy! Croissants! Originally I had asked for two jalapeño turkey but found out I had received just turkey. Which is okay, The outside was so flakey and the inside was flavorful. Visiting from out of town and this place was 300ft from our AirbnB, they are open early and the owners are extremely friendly. My wife and I came in about 530am and the doughnuts were still warm and soft not to mention delicious. Now I'm not a coffee drinker but my wife is and she was in heaven with the selection of coffees along with having every single creamer you could imagine to get that flavor you need. They do have a fridge with canned sodas with some juices along with couple energy drinks for the non coffee people. Husband would frequent Broadway Donuts when he was working in DT Long Beach for years. But since his office move in 2019, he finally made it back today with me! Yay. He always raved about the coffee. And he was right! Today I had the Hawaiian Hazelnut, and he had the Cinnamon Hazelnut. wow, it IS good! we both had it with half and half. We were actually at a nearby coffee shop and noticed a growing line outside this mom and pop donut shop and could not resist checking out what the line is all about - best decision ever! We grabbed a couple of the bestsellers, my favorites being the apple fritter, long beach creme (boston creme lol) and the blueberry filled donut. LOVE the bread/base of their donuts. I did not realize this place was cash only until I went to pay with my card - I felt terrible! I told him I likely couldn't pay and he'd need to put the donuts back. The gentleman told me to not worry about it, but I felt very bad. I then found cash in my wallet to cover most of it, and he just told me to come back later and pay the rest because he saw I was dressed for work and would be late. What an angel! Everyone that works here is so nice, it's so cute, always easy to find parking, and literally the best donuts ever. I don't have enough good things to say! This is the only donut shop in Long Beach, in my opinion! The donuts are so good, I once brought them on a plane to family in Florida, across the country because they are that delicious.
